NYX Hotel Cancun: Great Resort But....

It is small but well maintained. There are a lot of stairs but everything is easily accessible. Upon check in we were not told that there was an Air Canada Rep on level 2 until the last day when we inquired on our check out time. Also, on check in we occurred 3 x $32.00 for Environmental fees that we were not made aware of when booking the trip or when received the tickets. So that was an expense that took away from our excursions because we had three rooms to accommodate everyone. Also, the [... read more]y knew we were a group and never even tried to get us close together we were all over the place on the resort. The food is also great and the beach is smaller now compared to our stay in 2008.

Haven Riviera Cancun: Haven was Heaven

We had a great experience at Haven. We had a partial ocean view swim out suite and the room was beautiful. Our swim out pool was warm and at Haven swimming is 24 hours a day. The food options were good. We had no bad meals. Only one restaurant required reservations through the front lobby concierge and we were able to get reservations for two nights. The house Merlot was good. The first night we had the a different house wine we didn’t enjoy but the next night our waiter suggested the red.  [... read more] The buffet was good for breakfast and lunch. The salad bar, pick your fish fresh grill and warm focaccia bread with select oils was my staple for the week. We used room service once for lunch and it was fast. The room service cabinets in the room will now be a must have for me. Alcohol was brand name (top shelf if you are Serenity ) but ask for your brand or you will get well drinks. When you order a drink on the rocks I suggest saying no water. Our tequila on the rocks came as tequila and water with ice as did our after dinner diserrono so specify on the rocks no water. We hung out at the round and beautiful quiet pool during the day and loved it. There was a busier more party lake activity pool but our goal was straight up relaxing. Beach was nice sand - like all of hotels of that area there is seaweed. We did see several people swimming. We used the beach for walking only. The resort itself is beautiful and very easily walkable. We are hoping to return.

Crown Paradise Club Cancun: Fun place!

Great hotel, amazing food and lots of kids activities! Service is very friendly! Great night shows especially Disney show! Beautiful pool overlooking the ocean, delicious drinks for kids too and fun waves! No restrictions due to Covid!

Planet Hollywood Adult Scene Cancun by Royalton: Loved the Resort

Found the pool area and beach to be clean and there were areas for shade if needed. All restaurants had good food and all staff were very pleasant. Wait times to get a drink from the wait staff by the pool & beach were overall reasonable from my expectations. Guy's Burger was quick and good food the day we went. The lazy river was a blast, only issue is the shortage of tubes.

Planet Hollywood Adult Scene Cancun by Royalton: Star Class Junior Suite Swim Out - Excellent Vacation

The line of sight we had was simply excellent from start to finish. We stayed in the STAR Class junior swim out suite which was lovely. The swim out pools are heated and the main swimming areas are not. They do not intersect, they are separated by land space, so you have some privacy when enjoying your space. The food was quite good, we really enjoyed the Indian cuisine (personal taste) but none were worthy of complaint. The buffet was impressive as well, with several staffed cooking stations fo [... read more]r various foods, beef, poultry, pizza, calzone, fish and seafood, Mexican etc. The pool area were nice, beach was beautiful, and the staff were professional, polite and engaging. I wouldn't compare our experience to the non STAR Class, as I think upgrading made our stay so much more enjoyable than others, simply because our butler made our reservations, so there were no issues with our meal times. I saw a number of people frustrated because they couldn't get into the restaurants as they did not, or could not, secure reservations. I would definitely go back, as the premium package we purchased delivered and in many cases surpassed expectations.

Riu Palace Las Americas: We love this hotel!!

Riu Las Palace Americas is a very clean hotel. The staff are extremely hardworking, professional , friendly and appreciative. The housekeepers are always keeping your room filled with towels and toilet paper. The receptionists are soo welcoming and professional. The waiters are extremely hardworking , appreciative. Thomas, Saulos , Jesus and Edrin , Abu and William(beach bartender), Jorge( beach / umbrella helper) are efficient , warm and accommodating. The entertainment staff try their best but are ok. However,the beach is small and I felt like sardines cramped on the beach this time round. The only negative comment I have is that this is an Adults only hotel which we pay extra for so I can get away from my children. I understand that the beach is open to the public , however, during my stay a saw many families with kids that did not belong to our resort and locals playing on our side of the beach BUT also using the beach lounges. It’s bad enough that the beach is small( the right side of beach facing the ocean), but now it’s taken up by locals with their kids or families in other resorts and their kids.There was no security around monitoring the beach to make sure that non Riu members were not accessing the beach lounge with their children. This hotel is close enough to walk to the shopping malls,bars, clubs , restaurants and grocery shopping. And it’s very easy and safe to take the bus. We love coming back to Mexico / Cancun because we feel very safe and the Mexican people are so friendly , appreciative and warm. Thks Riu For making our stay pleasurable !

Riu Palace Peninsula: Awesome hotel resort

The service at this resort is A+++ from the lobby bar, restaurants, pool side, beach....to daily room service. All the employees working here are just friendly, attentive and helpful. The beach is large and filled with plenty of lounge chairs & umbrellas. We definitely will come back to this resort in the near future. Thanks RIU !

Royalton CHIC Cancun: Great time!

I attended royalton chic for a second year in a row with a different group of friends! The first year I found the elevators slow, however they have drastically improved Service! The service was simply amazing. From check in to checkout, we couldn’t ask for anything better. Eduardo was our butler and no words can describe how incredible he was. Kuri took amazing care us when we rented a cabana. Thanks kuri! Rooms - clean. Always fully stocked Beach - although the water was rough. The beach was absolutely beautiful. The sand and water was great! Food- the buffet was good. Enjoyed the fresh cooked items. The ala carte menus changed from last year which I preferred. Some were better then others. Always able to find something to eat. Actually all of us over ate Restaurant off resort - we went to taboo. Perfect night out. Location - resort is in perfect walking location to coco bongo, Isla mall, bars, restaurants Drinks - drinks were great’ Overall another great experience at the royalton chain. Club Med Cancun: Very good resort for families.

Grounds - The resort has a long coast line, wrapped around the southern point of the hotels zone. More beach than garden space. - The grounds are generally clean and well maintained. - Two receptions: - Main - for general public - Auqamarina - for pricier rooms - There is an exclusive area of the club named Jade. No access for the general public. Rooms - We found the rooms smaller that you average hotel in this price range. - No strange smells - A/C and hot water worked well.  [... read more] Public Areas - Beach - The sandy beach is on the North end and it's sheltered by a natural wave-break. - Good for swimming. - White sand, does not get too hot in the sun. - Plenty of palapas for shade. - One can snorkel on this beach and can see some wild life. - The main entertainment is happening here. It can get loud at times. - The guests are not in the habit of reserving lounge chairs, which is nice. - The rocky beach on the East is where the snorkeling is supposed to happen, is more exposed to the winds. The sea bottom is not very populated and you may see the occasional plastic bag or other garbage. - Further south there are narrow quiet and somewhat rocky beaches with lounge chair and umbrellas. - Pools - There are two pools for the general public - One by the main beach. Did not see too many people using it, unlike other resorts where most guests are crowding the pools. - Another on the South end - by the Aquamarina reception. - The Jade are has its own pool. Dining - The buffet is generally ok. Selection is limited, probably due to inflation and other economic factors. - A nice touch are the pre-set dishes which invite to a properly portioned meal. - The A La Carte restaurants are pretty average. We visited once and did not have a reason to return. - The drinks/cocktails are not great. The alcohol content seems to be halved from the bottle already. Not a big deal, but still ... - They offer vine and other alcohol for sale, which is marked up a lot. - They have lager and amber beer, which are fine. - The complimentary wine is ok. - The coffee is also ok, except the ones from the automatic machines. We preferred the pot coffee and the one prepared on the classic espresso machines. - The restaurant staff is generally very nice, except the occasional young waiter seemingly reluctant or overwhelmed. Features - The Gym is clean and open almost all day. Well furnished with working machines. - Wifi is available all around the resort. - They have a Kindergarten to entertain you kids. They seem to be running on business hours (9 to 5). Activities - Nice to have a resort where you can hear French as the default language, for a change. - The G.O. team is on top of this. They work had to keep you entertained if you whish so. - Evening shows all week. - Pre-shows they have great singers to perform. - Post-shows you may have a party in the main bar. - There are a lot of activities to participate. One can check the Club Med app for up to date info. - Yoga, dance lessons, aqua-aerobics, stretching, etc. - Included kayaking, and sailing. These can be limited by the weather conditions. On our trip were mostly closed due to a government weather advisory. - Some sea excursions leave from the resort Laguna, which is very convenient. Nice touches - The resort manager is omnipresent, constantly keeping in touch with the guests. I did not see this in any other resort we visited. - The commute from an to the airport was very good. Short drive, plus they check on your flight for you and accommodate for delays. - Tipping is appreciated but never hinted.

Occidental Costa Cancun: I’ve been to better Resorts

I will not recommend this resort to anybody, the A/C was either on or off, could not control it, there was sewer smell in our room 3 times, toilet wouldn’t flush sometimes, the shower would go from burning hot to cold, the balcony wasn’t even big enough to put 1 chair on it and you could look into both your neighbours balcony, only 2 English channels on tv , the nightly shows were right below our room and the food was just okay, and no hot tub

Occidental Tucancun: Occidental Tucancun – Comfort and Value

The Occidental Tucancun (all-inclusive resort or room daily) is a medium size property in the middle of Hotel Zone, 25 minutes by bus outside Cancun city or from the airport. We recommend this resort which offers many of the usual amenities for a moderate cost. We're satisfied with clean sheets, good food, convenience and value. Seafood restaurant Claraboya is more elegant and open for breakfast and lunch and we usually enjoyed those meals there. Soup lovers like me will appreciate cream soup [... read more]s of mushroom, spinach, carrots, tomato, potato, which were nicely flavoured. Amazingly, the common mashed potatoes are to-die-for. Pretty decent fish is on the menu daily everywhere. Grouper is a high-protein fish that is low in cholesterol and contains significant levels of protein, vitamins, and minerals. Three a-la-carte dinner restaurants offer some good choices provided your selections are thoughtful and undemanding. For examples, in the seafood restaurant we liked the braised salmon steak; in the Italian we liked the flambéd shrimp cream pasta; and in the Mexican restaurant we relished salsa freshly made to taste at your table with mortar & pestle ¬¬- all excellent. Sadly, a warning, that in spite of all the aforementioned praise, all cooked dishes were oversalted. The bar scene in the hotel is happy, active, and intellectual (...just kidding!), but there's no live music to compete with the revelers' loudness. The Tucan Theatre was serendipitously excellent, offering seven different, entertaining shows: magic, mariachi, circus, Mexican folklore, Michael Jackson, Three Tenors and enthusiastic karaoke. After the show, there's a terrific singing artist playing latin music for listening or dancing. It’s fun to watch very authentic latin dancing, and to join in if one likes to dance. We do! My vacation advice: don't retire to your room if you're not yet gently full, sloshed and tired. Three fresh pools are available and one is for adults only. At this resort, if you're challenged by stairs, know that there are some to get around and down to the beach. The landscaping is beautiful and impeccably groomed. Finally, regarding staff inviting you to a “presentation”. Yes, annoying, distracting and time consuming when your time in the sun is limited. Ok, don’t get your bikini in a knot, just say no! But still I’m empathetic, because these workers are just trying to make a living by upselling you to their “club”. I’ve met people who have participated and survived and even purchased. Take it easy on your vacation.

Planet Hollywood Adult Scene Cancun by Royalton: Beautiful Resort

This resort is so beautiful both the family and adult side. This resort has a big sandy beach with pretty blue water. We stayed on the adult side. The foam parties were so much fun! Staff here is great and really humble. They really do try to go above and beyond. Disco was fun at night ! Two things: I would suggest is to put some entertainment in the adult side because the nightly entertainment/shows on the family side are almost so boring. We were not star class and really wanted to eat at the restaurants so we bought 2 bottles so we got 2 reservations . All the staff wore masks and there were sanitizer bottles and stations around the resort.

NYX Hotel Cancun: BUDGET RESORT

It is an ok place, staff is trying hard. So many things that need to be improved though-not enough chairs around pool, beach; long wait for meals; too many stairs for people with mobility issues; shower and sinks not draining; entertainment lacking...many more to list. I would personally not return.

Riu Dunamar: January Stay

The Grounds were kept really well. The beach suffered from a lot of seaweed. The weather was windy, and as a result the beach had pretty high waves most of our trip (but that's not within the resort's control obviously). The loungers by the beach were always pretty readily accessible which was nice. The room was okay, the pillows were definitely really thin (if you require a good pillow, I recommend brining one with you). The in room bar was stocked every other day. The couches in the room showe [... read more]d signs of wear, and as other guests may have commented, if you are sharing rooms with children involved, you can see a silhouette of everyone showering. The bathroom included a a generic cleaner (shampoo/body wash combo) so I would recommend packing your own shampoo/conditioner especially if you are a little sensitive. The have pretty decent activities through the day (fitness activities, pool parties etc.) and you can walk for kms along the beach and across through other resorts (which was super nice). There's a couple pool tables in the sports bar (2 USD/Game). There are no reservations required for any of the restaurants, but it's almost impossible to get into the steak house, and the Asian restaurant. The food was good, the coffee was not my favorite!

NYX Hotel Cancun: Amazing!!!!

This hotel is a hidden gem!!! We had an ocean view room which was huge! The beds were extremely comfortable. I travel quite a lot and I can honestly say that the food and drinks were the best that I have had. Only breakfast is buffet style and the rest of the time are a-la-carte restaurants. The only negative is the beach chair situation. There are just not enough of them and they are all taken by 6:30 in the morning.

Grand Palladium Select Costa Mujeres: Beautifully Constructed, Poorly Maintained

Really nicely designed and spacious property. Never felt too crowded, easily able to get spots by the pool and beach Beach is windy and constant waves, some seaweed that they try to clean up each day Food is meh everywhere, best thing i had was fish on the grill We had perfect weather Jan 15-22, 2023 and that was the main attraction The pool by the Fizz bar was a nice spot

Krystal Grand Cancun: Amazing beach , hotel not so much ….

Been to Cancun several times …first time at Krystal altitude Cancun, won’t be back ……. Food is very mediocre, we lived on room service spaghetti and beer . Staff not so accommodating or friendly , never ever got a chair on beach as you had to sleep on them the night before in order to get one ..so we were not served food or drinks on the beach . Atelier Playa Mujeres: Amazing Resort

I loved how big the resort was and and its open design. The beach was very nice and felt private. The food selection could have been definitely better and the entertainment. Overall, it was still good

Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: Still great. Riu palace is always my favourite.

This is a great resort and it’s my 3rd or 4th time here. First time back since dec 2019. Nothing has suffered during the down time of Covid. The food is still good, the restaurants still had great service. The grounds and cleanliness are still top notch. I don’t think they have a mask policy as I didn’t notice 100% of staff with masks. Some food servers did, but I think that may a general food handling requirement. Certainly not for Covid though. This has got a great beach to [... read more] lie on with tons of chairs and lots of shady trees. I counted about 75 columns of trees with 4 - 5 in each column. So roughly 300. You can walk this beach about 30 minutes north and 2 hours south if walking is your thing.. Right now, traffic is ver very bad due to construction around and leading to the airport. My transport has been 30-40 minutes in the past and this time it was close to 2 hrs. Also there are 5 or 6 new hotels on the costa Mujeres strip, so you’ll probably be going on a tour bus and making multiple stops between your hotel and the airport. Because of this, we missed breakfast on the last day. Had to pick us up 5 hours before flight time. I kinda blame Sunwing for that. It would be a better customer experience if they put people in 8-person mini vans direct to hotel instead of 60 seat buses that stop 5 times. It might be worth it to book your own hotel transfer if your time is important. All in all, riu itself was spectacular as usual and Sunwing was mediocre as usual.

Garza Blanca Resort and Spa Cancun: beautiful resort

only problem we had was lunch time , wanted buffet lunch just like breakfast ,room service to order food was very slow.enjoyed the rooms,not much choices in the breakfast,desert hardly any. no ice cream
