Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Great Resort

We stayed at Royalton, Cayo Santa Maria, first week of December 2021. From the get go, this place worked hard to make sure our stay was perfect. This is a smaller adults only resort. Check-in was quick and hassle free. Welcome, give us your passport, here's some champagne. No paperwork. 10 minutes later we were being led to our room. The person doing this is called a butler. They will look after your needs and issues throughout your stay. Staying in the background, but there when needed. Every  [... read more]morning you are greeted by your butler, outside near your room. How was your night, any issues, have a great day. All employees at this resort were extremely polite and helpful. The resort was just open for 2 weeks when we arrived. It was very clean and very well looked after. Everyone from the gardener, cleaners, wait staff, and management, all wore masks properly, without exception. Beach, long, walkable, powder white sand. Note that as the winter season starts there is an abundance of seaweed washed up daily for the first couple of weeks in December. It is cleaned up daily. Turquoise waters and shallow sandbar. You can walk out quite a ways and still only be 3-4 feet deep. Resort has 2 pools, an upper quiet pool and lower busier pool, but remember no kids. Pools were not heated so were a bit cool. However given some time and warm weather, they should not be an issue. Bars at both pools, beach and lobby, all well served. Some inconsistencies in recipes, but totally palatable. Maid service was excellent. They cleaned up very well, making sure we had lots of everything we needed. Rooms cleaned early in the day, fridge filled, and of course a great display of characters and flowers on the bed, curtains, tub and sink area. We had swans, scorpions, teddy bears, frogs to name a few. They paid attention to the details. We had 2 issues with our room that were corrected immediately. There was a squeal in the air condition fan and we had no face cloths the first night. A quick mention to our Butler and all was looked after immediately. A quick shout out to our butlers Mario and Lester. The manager, who introduced himself our first night Alejandro, was constantly seen around the resort making sure all was running well. He introduced himself individually to all new arrivals at either dinner or breakfast. He put in very long days There at 7am when we went for breakfast and still there when we finished our last drink at 11pm. The next person who influenced our stay very much was head chef Jesus. He was also there the same long hours. He took personal interest in all meals being cooked and served. I am a fussy traveler when it comes to food. When we go to all inclusive resorts, one of the saving graces for me is the buffet. I do not do well with all prepared meals. With Covid, there was no buffet. Meal selection, while it would do most any normal person well, did not always agree with what I was able to eat. Jesus came out and we discussed what I could handle and he had the chefs prepare me a special meal. He was present at all my other meals and made sure I was looked after. In a busy place like this at mealtime the last thing they needed was to go out of their way for an individual, but they did. Give them full marks for everything they did. We would definitely do this resort again.

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Great Resort

Great clean resort. The food was half decent had great entertainment and pool area. The only concern was if you aren’t diamond club you cannot reserve restaurants, so you need to line up at 6 in a crazy line only for them to tell you to come back at 8 and then come back again at 9. The food at these restaurants was also amazing and delicious one night and then mediocre the next. But overall we had a great trip.

Royalton CHIC Cancun: Was ok

The grounds are beautiful. The service was good but not consistent. We upgraded to diamond and where told that we where invited and booked by our butler for a diamond dinner. We where excited about going got dressed up and up to the 18th floor we went only to be told that unfortunately the dinner was over booked and you where cut .That was on our second day, there was not an apology from Arron the big boss only a shoulder srug. Food was ok nothing special. Maid service was nothing special the [... read more] bed was made . No animal out of towels. Yes we tip...around 250 for fair service that week. I'm disappointed with the royalton and will not return.

Royalton CHIC Cancun: Resort grounds beautiful

We stayed their Nov 22 to 28 2021 The hotel grounds and pool are beautiful. We where not able to do the diamond dinner as they deleted our reservations therefore turned away when we got there with no compensation for dinner We did not go to the top floor pool as you had to pay for your drinks and food as this is not run by the hotel therefore people can buy a day pass and enjoy the night time entertainment as we had to also make reservations to go When they had events on the top floor the buf [... read more]fet was closed therefore you needed to find another place to eat and I have never been to a resort where they close the buffet I found the pool bars and those that served you around the pool went over and above but the rest of the resort did bare minimum I would not say this is a 5 star place at all There was minor things like no slippers in the room needed to ask for a blow dryer and a few days out fridge was not restocked with water or and pop

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Didn't meet our expectations

Positive: Staff are Great and do their best within the limitations and constraints. Hard working and nice people. Beach is very good. Ocean is clear and nice. Plenty of sun beds. Beach staff can help to find more if necessary. Good seafood for lunch & dinner in the buffet. Good coffee/cappuccino/espresso at bistro. Good night performances. Every night was a different one. We’ve been at other different resorts in Cuba (4&5 star) and sadly this resort had the worst rooms. Very limited food quantity and variety/options at the buffet (even for Cuba). No beer at the “minibar” during the whole week, no mint, No Mojitos, No daiquiris, No Caesars. Vodka and Scotch run out at the lobby bar. No pepper or salt at a la carte restaurant (we asked for it on the side and it was never brought). No slippers, no robes. Public washroom near the gift shop (around facility) there was no toilet paper and kind of dirty. Everyone is literally smoking at the bars.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Excellent resort

My family and I were a group of 50 people came to Royalton Bavaro resort for 7 days. Almost everything was amazing the staff, services, shows, we really appreciate every and each person who works there from front door staff to the highest level. Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Great resort !

We had an amazing time at Royalton. Clean, spacious, friendly staff, great service. Beach area is all you need, no rocks in the water. Food 5 stars. Great restaurants and activities on cite. Will be coming back !

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Great resort

We had an amazing time at the Chic Royalton in Punta Cana. The service and food were great, best part is real Clamato for us Canadians. Our butler Juan was amazing and went above and beyond for us. We had an amazing server at the Hunter steak house named Nester. My favourite bartender was Marisol. She too was amazing. I highly recommend this resort. When you go search out these wonderful people to say hi.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Lots of weddings

Just got back from the Royalton Cancun before our Insane Canadian Government passes new health requirements and demands everyone have this Experimental MRNA Gene therapy goop installed into their body for a flu that has over a 99.7 survival rate, while completely ignoring citizens with earned natural immunity that has 6 to 13 time the antibody immunity protection. A get rich quick scheme for sure. The Royalton staff were great, pools clean, food good. The Hunter restaurant is the best, Mexican not so good. Room was spacious and clean, had a nice 2 weeks.

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Great week at Royalton Splash!

I really enjoyed my week here and the hotel was good. The hotel room was very nice, air conditioned and clean. The only complaint I had was that I was cold the first night; however as soon as I called, the staff immediately brought more blankets. The customer service was excellent, specifically Darleny who made our experience so much better! The pool was a bit dirty on the weekend as there was a lot of people but we enjoy the beach much more so it wasn't a problem. I will say there are a few peo [... read more]ple on the beach, who were not resort staff selling things and for the most part it was completely fine but a few were very pushy which was not pleasant. The water park was a lot of fun and it is not crowded during the week. The food was good as well especially Zen, the Japanese restaurant. The buffets were okay. The only problem with the food was that on the weekends the resort is extremely busy so the wait time for the restaurants on the Royalton splash side were extremely busy and both the a la carts had a two hour wait. I cannot complain though because as soon as we contacted the customer service lady, Darleny, she arranged for us to eat at dorado which was excellent. There is a bit of a weird class system with different coloured wristbands though which is frustrating because had we not contacted customer service the other staff would not allow us to eat at the Royalton Punta Cana. Overall, I got to relax and the experience was good. I would come back!

Royalton CHIC Cancun: Amazing resort

The hotel was beautiful but the service was even better. The staff was so respectful and nice the person who stood out the most to me was Daniel from the pool side bar. Constantly taking order and going above and beyond left such a great impact he deserved all the tip he was so genuine

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Fantastic resort and staff

A Huge thank you to Susan Snider for helping us book our trip to Royalton Bavaro in Punta Cana. This was our first trip to DR as we usually go to Cuba. This Resort was so beautiful. We felt like royalty the entire trip and absolutely loved everything about it. We booked the swim up rooms and loved them. The staff were excellent and we couldn’t have imagined a better trip. Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters: Customer Service is Overrated

I would like to start my review off by saying that it was great to be back on a plane visiting an island that is my home away from home. After 18 months of uncertainty around what travel was going to be like, PCR tests (I know only an Antigen test is required), anxiety around potential overcrowding at the airport and on the plane, it was great to land at the Norman Manley airport and see my lovely island again. The team at Royalton was able to win me and my family over because of some amazing individuals on the team. I stayed at the hotel the week of September 19th. I was lucky enough to be able to work remotely on the most beautiful island in the world. The team running and working in the buffet and Calypso restaurant (servers, greeters, chefs) and the housekeeping team are AMAZING! Their customer service is exactly what I expected and recall of my times at the hotel. You could tell how passionate both teams were and dedicated to ensuring the best client experience possible. I am accustomed to travelling and dining alone, the team always made sure I did not feel alone or left out. The individual assigned to my room from the housekeeping team was kind, professional and should probably be training teams at other resorts. The front desk staff require training! Their attitudes demonstrate that they believe they are doing the guests a favor. You can tell that they have quickly forgotten that the entire island is still recovering from a pandemic and none of us are guaranteed the roles we currently hold now. To the bellman who secured transportation for me to the airport, when Sunwing decided to send a bus that could not hold everyone, thank you! I appreciate you and although some might say it is your responsibility, you did not have to be so kind and caring. To the bartenders and team, thank you for always being "on". It is not easy to have to be in a position to entertain people all the time, especially when they have had too many drinks. Overall, Royalton you have some work to do to get back to the way things were pre-pandemic. There are a number of hotels that have opened up in the same vicinity and people will go where their money is appreciated.

This Hotel was amazing especially if you were Diamond club guest, a la cart every day, special invitations to chefs surprises, food for me was 5 stars, butler service,free scuba diving,catamaran excursion ,the grounds were very clean workers were on the grounds every day making shure the grounds were top notch, the staff,ong,can't get any friendlier, there was one beach bar staff named Happy,walks and smiles like a cowboy, his favorite saying, don't worry, be happy,lol,10 stars for him on Kew to [... read more] serve you, bravo Happy!! Friendly and nice staff, great costumer service, very helpful and attentive. Beach is beautiful. Clean rooms with a good service following COVID-19 protocols. Many restaurants with different foods options.

We arrived at the resort and we received a warm welcome back as returning guest. Everyone was kind and accommodating for our needs and wants. The resort was clean the grounds well maintained and the food was good according the the circumstances caused by Covid. The rooms are large with separate living area and the bed was comfortable. The beach and the ocean were perfect always plenty of sun beds. The PRC was done in the resort and the next day we were able to pick up the results, very conven [... read more]ient. Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Great stay at Royalton Hicacos

It was a great week, hotel is well maintained, staff are very helpful. The food and drinks are typical for Cuba, as experienced before during other stays before COVID. Because of COVID the hotel was only 30% full (my estimation), swim-up bar at the pool, gym and night club were not open, but on the plus side, you could always find good spots on the beach. The beach is beautiful and the water very warm. COVID protocol requires testing on arrival at the airport in Cuba, results were deliver [... read more]ed next day, everybody was negative, we were told. Three days before returning, we arranged a PCR COVID test at the hotel medical office, we got the results next day (this test is required to get back to Canada). When we landed in Canada, we got tested again, got the results in two days. Being fully vaccinated, no further quarantine is required, so almost back to normal. Looking forward to going back sometime in the winter.

This resort was more than a 5*! The staff is AMAZING! The service they provide was above and beyond all expectations. The food was the best I’ve had in Cuba. The location is perfect, the beach is stunning! It was a perfect vacation!
