Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Very good resort. I would return to it.

This resort is very lovely. I found the grounds very well maintained and clean. The beach is beautiful and yes there was seaweed every day but that is out of their control. It is at every resort, and they did their best to clean it up. The rooms are big and very comfortable. The shower is great. I have no complaints about the door not shutting. I checked it every time. The pizzas from the Italian restaurant that they make at the little take out during the day are delicious and the same goes for  [... read more]the little chip wagon they have down by the beach. The only complaint I could make about the beach is that they should remove the first row of huts because it makes for people walking the beach to be right where you are and no room for sunbathers because when the waves (high tide)come in the loungers are getting wet so everyone is right up against the huts. Also the people trying to sell stuff come right threw the entire area not like other resorts that I have been to along Bavaro Beach. I agree with other people about no being able to make reservations at the restaurants make for long line ups and sometimes not even getting in and going back to the buffet which the food was very good. I would not hesitate to go back to this resort and will.

Blau Natura Park Resort: Good hotel

Requires additional washrooms by pool .Bar’s near pool should be open all day and night. Washrooms should be maintained on an hourly bases. Making people check in without providing the correct room is a problem. Additional staff should be put on front desk during checking times.

Coral Costa Caribe: Excellent value

Pros: Beach is amazing - clean, warm water with sandy bottom and little fish, white sand, plenty of lounge chairs and beach is close to snack bar and washrooms. Public washrooms were well maintained. Mangoes Snack Bar had the most amazing pizza that was always prepared and ready to grab. A la carte restaurants were available every night with a reservation. Hot chocolate served at breakfast was yummy. Bar service was fast. Many options for refilling water bottles with clean drinking water. Staff  [... read more]were consistently pleasant and approachable. Resort is on the smaller side (400+ rooms) making the experience very low key. No large resorts within a 3 km walk along the beach in either direction - only a handful of smaller resorts. Two pool areas, which appeared nice although we spent all of our time at the beach. Excellent air conditioning in the rooms. Beds comfy. Room and floors cleaned every morning. Nice balcony with view of courtyard. Six stories, with a modern elevator. Absolutely dead silence every night that we slept and into the morning. Very happy with the sleeping environment. Good hot shower with excellent water pressure (except for one random evening when we had no hot water whatsoever). Mini fridge in room. Two small bottles of water provided by maid each day. Free wifi in rooms and lobby. Cons: No premium alcohol, however a very good red house wine and DR draft beer. Room bathrooms were quite outdated - grout is falling apart in tile floors. Toilet worked well, but difficult to get seat to stay up due to sink (made for tricky drunken trips to the toilet for my partner). No coffee maker in room. We could not get the television to work, although we were not too fussed about it. Pillows a little lumpy - but there were four for the two of us, which was great. Sports Bar had a weird musty, damp smell - however the most frozen drinks could be found here. Lots of soliciting on the beach for various goods - however, all sales people were very kind and did not push past a “no thank you, not today.” All in all this resort is very good value if you are willing to overlook its aging facade. We would definitely return.

Occidental Caribe: Awesome Resort

A beautiful resort. Grounds well kept. Staff all friendly and helpful. Restaurants are very good. Everything in walking distance. Great clean pools and beach. Lots of lounge chairs . Well kept rooms. Our absolute favorite resort. Would recommend this resort for all ages. Great for young families as it has kids pools and clubs. Awesome place.❤

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Fantastic Resort!

What a great vacation! I have nothing negative to say about Viva V. This resort is small, but that's why we loved it! Everything is right there! Restaurants, Pools, within a few steps. Room were great, well appointed, we had the Amnesia Junior Suite, which has a kind of separate living space with a couch. Great for us! Two tvs, balcony. Beds and pillows were clean and comfy. I've never experienced such a vast array, and very tasty choices at a resort before this. Our favourite, but about a five minute walk is on the beach, and this restaurant offers nachos and cheese, homemade, delish pizza, hotdogs, and fries during the day, and in the evening an Italian restaurant, which is very busy, depending on the time you go, you may wait up to a half hour, but you sit right on the beach and have drinks while you wait! Everything there is well worth the wait, the ravioli is to die for! This is an all adult resort, and I noticed there are lots of singles, as well as couples. Entertainment group is the best I've seen at a resort. Just fabulous! Disco almost everynight if you choose to go. Fun fun! Or your vacation can just be a relaxing one, just lying by the pool. Great value for your money vacay. Will be back!

Playabachata Hotel: Water problems

I would like to comment on the water problems we had at the Playabachata, first two nights we had no cold water, none. On the third day we had no hot water, these are basic essentials e need to survive, we couldn't shower after travelling all day, it really put a damper on things. I would definetly think twice before booking this hotel again.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Amazing resort!

TRS Cap Cana Hotel: Good but needs to be better organized

Great location close to the airport, grounds are well kept and even though the small beach is not useable the pools are large and clean. Swim up room was nice but in need of a refresh. Food was generally good however wait times were very long, on one occasion we were asked to leave the Helios restaurant after an hour and a half and hadn't even received our diners, meal orders where consisently incorrect or not delivered at all. Riu Bambu: Nice resort.

Good resort, nice gardens, great entertainment team, good service. Good food and nice restaurants. Resort on a larger scale, lots of people. Cheaper alcohol. Beds a bit hard. Rooms have a bit of musty smell, but ok when air out by opening the balcony door.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: reasonable resort - good for the value

Hotel room was lovely & clean. The alarm clock was broken, had to reset anytime we wanted to see the time. Otherwise, good location, good beach. Food was nice in all the restaurants, wide variety. However, often had problems at the main buffet, where the tables were not being set with enough cutlery, water glasses, napkins etc. Had to remind staff to bring supplies several times. Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: A very fine resort

There were 6 of us (adults) who went to this resort for the first time. All of us thought it was one of the best we have been to. The staff is excellent. The food is very good. One nice thing is all but one (Japanese) of the restaurants do not need reservations. The rooms are great. Lots of pools and loungers. We did not have any kids with us, but it is definitely a great family resort. The lazy river is a blast. Would definitely go back.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Beautiful destination !!!

Returned for our second visit to Barcelo Bavaro Beach . Everything was just as expected .... FANTASTIC !!! The resort is very clean and well groomed , the service is amazing ... your drink glass never gets empty before someone offers another . The staff are all very pleasant and helpful . You always feel welcomed and special . Food options were plentiful and tasty . The adult side is very quiet and relaxing .... but if you want action , head over to the Palace (also included) were things go all  [... read more]night . The beach is beautiful with plenty of loungers available . The pool is very clean and refreshing with plenty of loungers also available . The only down side is there is not a swim up bar .... but the efficient servers make up for that . I would highly recommend this resort for couples looking for a hassle free holiday in a paradise setting .

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Not so great right nowq

This could be a great hotel. It is 3 large resorts linked together on a very big property with lots of restaurants, lots of bars, lots of gardens and entertainment every night. Unfortunately, the management is spending most of their time and money on building and marketing new timeshare homes and condos. The regular rooms (not the timeshare rooms) are quite run down and in need of a lot of repair. We had to switch rooms 4 times during our 1 week stay! The first room had water leaking through th [... read more]e bathroom ceiling from the toilet above it, the second room was broken in to through the patio door (the balconies join together so it is easy to get from one room to another) the third room had no hot water for 3 days. Everyone we spoke with had been moved to another room at least once but many had been moved 2 or 3 times. They were moving guests from one bad room to another. The staff are so worn down and miserable, I felt terrible for them. I'm sure that I would feel that way too if I had to deal with the number of complaints they did. On our flight back, we learned that many of the guests were sick for 2 or 3 days. They felt it was food poisoning which is possible as the food at the buffets was barely warm, never hot. Perhaps they didn't get it to a high enough temperature to kill off any bacteria? Luckily we did not have any problems with the food. I hate to complain, but people should be aware of just how bad this resort is right now. Hopefully they will put some time and money into the much needed repairs this summer, but right now I would not recommend anyone to go here. Vacation time is valuable and when you have to pack up your things and change rooms 4 times in one week, it doesn't leave much time to relax or do much of anything.

Playabachata Hotel: Need improvement otherwise good

Best beach. Food not bad. Rooms were good and clean. Washroom needs improvement. All the programs are extremely good. Waiters and bartenders are friendly. Extrusion are high priced. Overall the place is good

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Amazing resort

Its a very beatiful resort especially for kids i have 3 kids ages 8,6,3 they had a blast they went to disney a year ago believe me they didnt have as much as fun as in fantasia bahia ..very friendly staff amazing seafood ...all the time activities all around the hotel at the pool alot of intreteinments,jumping castles on the water ,coconut party ,pirates show...every night theres a different show going on at 9 the best was micheal jackson amazing !the rooms are in very good conditions and big i  [... read more]recomend it to every1 going to punta cana i am repeating it for next vacation same destination same hotel fantasia bahia principe the best!

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Great vacation at the Aquamarine!

We stayed at the Aquamarine from 06Jan-13Jan (group of 4). Check in was relatively easy and our room was ready right away. I was a bit nervous after reading a few bad recent reviews but we were so happy with our vacation. The grounds are very clean. Our room was close to the pool and we were easily able to get chairs beside the pool each day. The activities at the pool were great, especially the foam party on the Monday. The animation staff really get the crowd involved. The main pool is a b [... read more]it louder but the two side pools were quiet. The bartenders at the pool bar were great (I think Carlos was our main bartender all week!) The food at the buffet was very good and the service was amazing (shout out to Maria!). For the A La Cartes, we ate at M.E.A.T., Mexican, Italian and Japanese (Maiko). They were all very good but the Japanese was amazing!!! I'd recommend all of them. We also enjoyed going to the Sports Bar. It was a fun thing to do in the evening before dinner (get the mozza sticks!). The hotel is located a bit further from the beach, but there is a shuttle or it is a nice walk. We only went down to the beach a few times so this wasn't an issue for us. The only downside - we booked an excursion on the beach and it was a TERRIBLE experience. It's an attempt to get you to spend more money at the location and we were left without a shuttle back to our hotel. I'd recommend not booking excursions on the beach and only booking through the hotel. It will cost a bit more but will be worth it! Special thanks to Heilen at the main office for being so accommodating with us. The adults only aspect of the Aquamarine is worth the cost! I would highly recommend this resort to others and we very much enjoyed our stay!

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Amazing grounds

The grounds and public areas of this hotel are beautiful. Not recommended for those with mobility issues. Buffets could improve food quality. A la cartes very good. Enjoyed a well equipped gym. Beat titular beach.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Wonderful vacation

Absolutely loved our stay at Aquamarine! From the moment we landed in Punta Cana, everything went smoothly and transportation to the resort was very organized. Our room was sportless and roomy. We were in close proximity to the pool which was a bonus. The food at the buffet was so fresh and flavourful! The waiting staff were all so kind and the service was relatively quick. Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Amazing resort and fantastic vacation!

From the airport, the bus takes you to the front of the Bahia Principe La Romana resort and then you are taken to the Bouganville side (adults only section) by golf cart. Check-in is done at the Bouganville reception and it was easy and quick. We were greeted by friendly staff with a welcome drink and our luggage was taken up to our room almost immediately. We were the lucky ones to get the best room in the resort - room 51201. We were the 3rd floor corner room facing the pool and ocean - we [... read more] had amazing sunsets every night! Our balcony was so large that we had 2 loungers and a table and 2 chairs with room to spare. Our butler Isaury greeted us shortly after and made sure we had everything we needed and answered any questions we had. During the week, he made sure we had a bucket of beer on ice delivered to our room every day at 4pm and he even had a bubble bath in the jacuzzi tub lined with red rose petals waiting for us after our pool time. Isaury went the extra mile to make sure our vacation was great. The Animation Team (Cappuccino, Caramel, Nicky, Mr. Wow, King Kong) ran events around the pools and lobby and got those who wanted to participate in activities, moving and having fun. We ate at 4 a la carte restaurants - Italian, Asian, Gourmet and Mediterranean - all were very good but our favourite was the Gourmet Don Pablo - we ordered surf and turf. The buffet had a different theme every day for dinner, so there was always a variety. Breakfast was pretty much the same every day, but there was a great variety so you could change it up. The restaurant by the beach is an a la carte from 10:30am - noon (order from a menu) and then at noon it switches to a buffet until 4pm - no complaints here either. Even though this resort is not new, it is very well maintained - gardens and grounds are beautiful and staff are constantly and discretely gardening, cleaning, painting, etc. Our room was very clean and comfortable - the only downfall is lack of electrical outlets for charging phones, tablets, etc. The beach is beautiful but the water is not clear. We were told that it is due to the river up the cost and that it stirs up the bottom causing it to look foggy. That being said, we have been to Punta Cana and Costa Rica and we did not have clear waters there due to waves stirring up the bottom, so not really much different. This was our 8th all inclusive vacation and it was our best! We heard that review ratings were down so we are not sure if we went at a time when staff were trying extra hard to increase their ratings or if it is like this all the time - we have no complaints. If we could change anything about this vacation, it would be that a direct bus transfer to/from the airport would be preferred - we stopped at 4 other resorts each way so our total trip time each way was 1.5 hrs. VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Great Resort!

We thought the hotel was very nice and very clean. The buffet and staff were all amazing. The food was awesome and plentiful! There always seemed to be lots to do at the pool. The beach, with all of the cabanas and lounge chairs, was the best one of all of the resorts in the area. The beach was also very clean and had the best water frontage.
