Hotel and service Good Transportation bad .I the resort for many years..and newer got 5 hr ride from the airport for 5 hr.. My agent told me it will landed in Holguin. and didn't mentioned nit will be 5 hr ride on no roads there was only about 3 km of asphalt rest design for tanks or horse and baggie. almost 2 days take me to recover from my sore back. Gran Muthu Imperial: Gran Muthu Imperial Apples to Apples

We arrived Dec 25, 2019 for a 10 day stay leaving January 4, 2020. We had spent the same time period the last 5 years at a 4.5 star adults only resort in Cayo Santa Maria Cuba. We compared the resorts to each other. The Cuban staff are friendly no matter where you travel to. At the Imperial the grounds are well kept, the staff friendly, fresh coconuts (delicious) from the gardeners when available. Though short on towels a few days the room was spacious and kept clean. The infinity pool was [... read more] breathtaking and enjoyed the morning stretches by the pool. The beach cannot be highly rated when compared to other beaches in Cuba due to rocks in the water and undergrowth. There were not enough lounge chaise on the beach despite the resort not being at capacity. We would go to another resort to use their facilities. The beach bar did run out of cups 1 day so bring your own just in case. The sailing was enjoyed, the nightly entertainment was amazing as was our trip to Moron. The International and especially the Seafood restaurants were upscale with their service. A good selection at the buffet as well. Any criticism we have is directed at the management who organized the New Year eve buffet dinner. We arrived at the 8:30 pm 2 nd sitting. With no one to seat us we wandered around the room looking for a vacant table. All were full. We were ready to leave when a staff member recognized us and found a vacant table. The table cloth was full of food stains and no cutlery. This was promptly remedied. The buffet food stations were 1 /2 empty of food and it looked like a food fight had taken place. We hadn't experienced such chaos in the last 5 years. The last evening of 2019 was a disappointment. If management was professional, and organized, this chaotic scene would not have happened. New Year's Eve comes on the same date every year so it should not be a surprise. Would we return ? Perhaps. You only have 1 chance to make a good first impression.

Iberostar Coral Holguin: Beautiful resort.

We stayed January 8- 15 at the Coral Level at Iberostar Selection in Holguin. We had a junior suite . The rooms are spacious with a awesome bathroom and outdoor shower! The rooms were cleaned everyday and the maids did their job always with a smile . The food is good , the resort had a shortage of several things that they were not able to get. French fries , mashed potatoes and even the lobster was not available. The butlers did their best to accommodate for the things that were not there. [... read more] We would love to see the breakfast a-la carte returning we missed the Eggs Benedict and the rum and banana pancakes! Junior, Raoul, and Lariza were our butlers and we can not say enough good things about them. Always a smile and a kiss on the cheek for us, they are the main reason we come back to this resort. Not only them but all the people that work at the Coral level are friendly and helpful. We ate at some of the a-la carte restaurants and our favorite was the Japanese, a funny show and good food. The rest of the restaurants we didn't much cared for. The Mediterranean restaurant was a disappointment because we expected more fish selections and lobster on the menu which were both missing. The entertainment is good especially the band that played the Tuesday night was awesome. We had nothing to complain about the resort and will definitely come back. Gran Muthu Imperial: Great resort

The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfy. The resort is quiet which is fabulous. Lots of loungers and beach beds around the pool. The food is decent. Always something to eat and enjoy. I would return. Only complaint would be the a la cartes were empty most of the time and no reservations were available.

Playa Vista Azul: Great vacation!

Overall site was in very good condition. The grounds were well maintained and beautifully manicured (special thanks to the gardeners and grounds keepers). Staff was incredibly friendly with special thanks to the Beach Bar Staff and activities group (beach and pool). Food was average, there was always variety/choice to satisfy even though improvements in quality over other destinations (outside of Cuba) are recommended. New Year’s Party was excellent, plenty of everything. Great Value!

Melia Internacional: Beautiful resort

Resort very beautiful,modern,clean,all new, excellent location, spacious beach,plenty of sun beds, umbrellas,pool very clean,staff very friendly and helpful,rooms very modern, beautiful,big, cleaning staff doing a very good job, always clean towels, bottled water in the room,food is mediocre, especially in the restorants, buffet is better,and humburger hut is good, entertainement very classy from 9 a.m.,all day long,elevators pretty slow,but very clean,I would give it 5 stars,except for food.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Wonderful Resort

We thought that this is a wonderful resort, everything was very well maintained including the rooms,the staff was friendly but professional. We loved the nightly entertainment in all of the restaurants and the lounge. The beach was also very well maintained, the beach chairs were cleaned all the time and there was no trash found on the sand due to the large number to trash bins around which makes it pleasant. One thing that we especially liked was the use of the hospitality room on our last day, [... read more] since we had to check out at 12:00 and we were not being picked up for the airport until after 6:00 we were able to enjoy the pools and have a place to shower and change into our travel clothing. The only negative that I can think of is the occasional smell of sewer which we figure was coming from some stagnant water around the resort.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Beautiful Resort!

Melia Jardines Del Ray In Cayo Coco was absolutely beautiful. I went in a group of four girls and felt extremely safe. Staff was excellent, beach was beautiful, and the drinks were strong! Great vacation spot!

Muthu Colonial Hotel: A Great Holiday

Another great holiday at The Colonial! Whether you enjoy the music and main "hub" area or a quiet place to read a book you can find it here! There's a great fresh water pool with a great shallow pool for the kids and an amazing salt water pool that runs throughout one end of the resort; it has a great swim-up bar area + some quieter areas to lay back and relax. The beach is amazing and you can stroll forever enjoying the soft sand and the beauty. The layout of this resort is amazing and the staff are incredible!

Warm, nice, good customer service, good vibe, nice food and drinks, the hôtel and the area is secured, the rooms are clean and big, food and drinks available for everyone at anytime, respectful staff, nice beach

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: On week in paradise

Pretty nice week at this hotel. Very good points : 1) Cubans 2) Service at the restaurant and the buffet, 3) At the buffet and the restaurants they serve red wine in bottle, 4) Illimited acces to all the restaurants. Bad points : 1) The water in the shower passes from cold to hot without warning, 2) Even if there was no wind, we could not use the kayaks ans the pedalos at the beach, 3)Severals activities but we don't know where to go to participate 4) Some roc into the sea

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Amazing Resort, Aweson Food

We loved everything about this hotel and resort. We especially loved the food. The selections was incredible and endless. Crepe stations, smoothie stations, fresh fish and beef, pork, chicken sautéed to your liking. Pizza and pasta stations. Breakfast had pancakes and omlettes stations, not just one but three omlette stations so the line was never long. The staff were friendly and always available. The beach was inexplicably beautiful. You could walk right onto the beach from the resort. Amazing buffet right at the beach along with a snack shack. The rooms were not super fancy but very comfortable and clean. The lobby bar seemed to be the place to be every night after the wonderful entertainment. We will be going back for sure!

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Amazing!

This resort was by far one of the best I have stayed at so far in Cuba. I have been to Cuba three times and this resort was hands down my favourite. The staff were exceptional and very attentive at every meal. The pools and surrounding areas were well maintained and the cleaning staff were very wonderful, they gave us extra towels and changed the sheets upon request. I would definitely recommend this resort. I stayed at the Grand memories as there are three attached (Memories Paraiso, Grand Memo [... read more]ries and Sanctuary). Something I would say was that we could not locate one of the restaurants.

Memories Paraiso: Amazing beaches and staff

The beach was white fine sand and correl and so beautiful. The beach is better than Veradero. We had some issues with the rooms, but they were dealt with by such caring staff. If you go, find a porter named Liban, he will make your trip the best.

Iberostar Coral Holguin: Coral Level

Stayed in a junior suite on the 2nd floor in the Coral Section (adults only). Room was very spacious and all rooms seemed to have a pool view. Room, grounds, pool and restaurants were all very clean and well kept. On the Coral side of the resort which is very quiet, we received excellent service and staff were very friendly. We only ate in the Coral, Japanese and Mediterranean restaurants which was very good. Ate once at the Buffett for dinner which was ok but make sure you are there when the  [... read more]doors open. Warming dishes didn’t seem to be replenished quickly. There are 2 beaches. The small beach is very nice, small and shallow with an excellent beach bar. The larger beach which you share with another hotel is very nice but busy. There is a section reserved for Iberostar guests but quite small and fills up fast. There is also a makeshift bar with excellent service with the basic drinks. (No slushies). The beach is accessible by a bridge and can walked to very easily or you can hop on the golf carts. There currently is no “adult only” beach sections”. The two Iberostar resorts are on large grounds that are very walkable and well lit at night with a nice path along the ocean. The 2 beaches are nice but not like the Cayos or Varadero. I would return.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Had a superb time!

Lovely grounds, had a really nice room, for Cuba the food was good, the beach is nice but a little rocky, bring water shoes. The weather was ok, very windy, we had rain this week but it seems in Cuba it will rain then the sun will come out five minutes later, rain again then the sun will come out again. (January is the rainy season) the weather did not bother my husband and I, except that it was too windy to snorkel. The staff was pleasant. The a la carts were very good. The flambe crepes in the buffet amazing. The pool restaurant was good. The entertainment was good, my favorite is the violinist who played one evening, he's amazing. They have predinner live musicians (some very good some ok) then this is followed by a show or some other type of entertainment. After the entertainment, if you would like they have an airconditioned disco. Oh, apparently and you get 7 hrs free internet in the lobby, someone said that to us on the last day, you can get more if you want... we never tried it we unplugged for the week. Tips: Bring insulated mugs!!! ... keeps your drinks cold and you won't waste all those tinny cups, better for the environment Bing conditioner (forgot mine)- with the humidity you'll probably shower 2 times a day Bring Toilet paper to the airport when you leave! Often the airport runs out Note: The hotel is approximately 1 hour from Holguin.

Gran Muthu Imperial: Amazing resort!!

The resort was well maintained and staffed. All the staff were amazing and friendly. Their entertainment team worked really hard and had lots of various activities each day. The pools were really clean and there were lots of lounge chairs. The food was great and lots of variety. The week we were there it was very windy and whistled outside our room making it fairly noisy. Carisol los Corales: Didn’t happen !!!

I wish I was able to give a good review! After doing my online check in the night before we arrived at Toronto Airport at 6:30 am with boarding passes in hand believing 90 minutes was plenty of time to check bags for 8 am take off . The park and fly bus never came to get us for 45 minutes and we were turned away from our flight ✈️ never again will I book with tripcentral or sunwing

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Excellent hotel

Grand Aston Las Brujas is a lovely hotel, beautiful rooms, excellent food, friendly and helpful staff. I travelled alone and felt very safe, really enjoyed my stay and walks on the beautiful beach. I would definitely return to this hotel, excellent value.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Great family vacation and kiteboarding

Stayed here Jan 5-12, the temperature dropped to 24 the day before we arrived, and Jan is a windy month, but lucky for us, we were there to kiteboard. And the kiteboarding was amazing! I was charged 30cuc just to get my kiteboard bag from the airport to the resort, a bit of a cash grab considering It didn’t cost anything to fly the gear here all the way from Canada, but it cost $45Cdn to but it on a bus for a 1/2hr drive, maybe it was an AirTransit thing as I’ve never paid this fee the past  [... read more]5 trips, but this was the first time flying with them. After the first night we moved to a room on the east side of the resort, right beside the pool, ground floor. This was a perfect location for us, we used the patio door all week, steps to the pool and close to the beach. The staff was happy and helpful, daily they would come around the pool and take drink orders, they were serving donuts each day, chopping open fresh coconuts. We even had special coffees delivered right to our patio in the morning. We would tip, but we didn’t tip everyone every time, and it certainly didn’t effect the attitude or service of the staff. We ate at all the restaurants and a-la-cartes. The food was really good for a remote area of Cuba. We were comfortable letting our two sons stay up late as the resort is small enough that it feels very cozy and safe. A couple nights they came home at 3-4 in the morning, having met friends their ages (16 & 19). Only complaints were that it was not super hot, but it is January and you can’t control the weather, the there was some bugs, but we were the ground floor and our patio door was open a lot of the time. Kiteboarded 6 out of 7 days, I did pay the 25cuc, which is supposed to pay for the rescue guys, but they never came back the rest of the week. So basically I paid to use the ocean. Cash grab. Although it is a great place to teach, both my sons got up and we’re riding. So happy to see, it was worth the cost of the trip right there. Low tide is a fun time to walk way out on the sandbars, great for photos Over all it was amazing and would return but maybe in April when it’s a little warmer
