I had a nice stay, great employees. The little buggy trains will make you gag from exhaust smoke, they were on their last legs and couldn’t handle the loads of people on it. So just take walking shoes to the beach and skip it. Also take your beach towel and claim your chairs early. Make sure the chairs not broken either. I feel their should have been more Mexican desserts/cuisine. Great service either way. Bring a thermos for your drinks, I didn’t like the way they washed the cups at the bar.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Lovely resort

The hotel grounds are stunning. The buffets and restaurants are delicious. The maids, bartenders , and staff are so accommodating always smiling and helpful . The few negatives is the beach with all the seaweed but the staff make a very big effort to remove it every morning... Our room in building six was a bit worn could use update or even new paint. We talked to a few couples in this wing with similarities or worse stories.

I thought the grounds were impeccably clean and very well maintained. The buffets could use more Mexican food, but the service from all of the staff was very good. Drinks were good, it was a little out dated and could use a bit of a refresh but I had a very enjoyable time.

Ocean Maya Royale: Fantastic Resort - Will return!

We had a fantastic time at the Ocean Maya Royale. From the moment we entered the lobby, we were given top service. My brother and sister-in-law decided to join us at the last minute and we asked for rooms nearby each other. In a matter of minutes, we were taken to our new rooms next door to each other. One week of great food (all restaurants were amazing) and the buffet where we had breakfast and lunch were very good. No complaints at all. When we wanted to relax, we went to the smaller pool. Everything is close, so if you are looking for a small resort -- this is the one for you. No need for trolleys as everything is within walking distance. We also enjoyed the entertainment and the beach party. The only downside was the seaweed on the beach. The staff worked tirelessly to clean it up. The hotel staff were very friendly and I can't say more about this resort except -- we will be back again!!! Thank you Ocean Maya Royale.

Secrets Huatulco: Wonderful all inclusive holiday!

Upon arrival my room was ready. The showers at this resort are outstanding with large rainshower heads. Beds were comfortable and rooms were modern and very clean. Exceptional ocean views throughout the hotel. The pools were clean and everything appeared to be maintained. Staff were friendly and smiling. The french restaurant was exceptional and we went there twice. The japanese restaurant (Spice) was amazing. One guy from our party caught a mahi mahi and the japanese restaurant cooked it [... read more] three different ways to allow us to have a group dinner featuring our 'catch of the day'. We enjoyed every day at the pool and only ventured to the beach the first day and early in the morning before the sand was too hot to walk on. The bay was rough most days with a red flag out. There is a small portion where it is protected from the rocks and snorkelers were often there. The bars offered an abundance of drinks and the Barefoot grill offered great lunch options. There are no complaints about this resort of the staff and I would recommend this resort wholeheartedly.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Amazing resort!!!

I would highly recommend this resort. It was the first time traveling with our baby and this resort goes above and beyond for its guests. The resort is clean and well maintained, the food was great and the service even better. The only thing we weren't crazy about was the beach, lots of seaweed. They tried to clean it up everyday but there was so much. Other than that I would highly recommend this resort and especially to families with kids.

Crown Paradise Club: Perfect Resort for kids!

We took our boys ages 5&3 to this perfect resort for kids and they loved it! While the rooms are very dated and simple everything is clean. The beds were terrible!! The a la carts are amazing and are a must! The ocean is very rough and kids cannot go in alone so we mostly played at the pool and water park.

Grand Oasis Cancun: Great resort

My son and I had a great time at the oasis. Lots of food choices entertainment and the staff was very helpful and polite .I would return back to this resort again for the cost was reasonable. There is a family side and a party side to this resort that make it easy from day to day

Grand Palladium Vallarta: Very nice trip

Very pleasant staff. Excellent food. Weather was perfect. Comfortable bed. Room was cleaned and fridge stocked daily. Overall a very nice resort and good trip. It seemed to be a great choice for people with kids. Lots of stuff for them to do.

Samba Vallarta: excellent

great place for family's with small children. lots of activities all day for young children,three pools for young children 3,4,5 feet deep.Ocean is swimmable and shallow for a good distance.Choice of food is very good and service is excellente.bringing all our grandkids there next year.

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Nice resort

Nice resort for people with kids. Good service, good food and nice installations. Long wait sometimes for restaurant and even more with 2 young kids. Room was ok but the matrice was not really comfortable. Sports installations were amazing and nice long beach. I would not rebook with Westjet as we had a few bad surprises though.

Unico 20 87 Hotel Riviera Maya: Beautiful resort

Everything was wonderful. Food and service in the restaurants were excellent. Very responsive to requests. Reservations for dinner at the various restaurants were better managed if you did them yourself rather than using the local host.

Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: Amazinnnngg stay!!!!

Amazing customer service, Every employee is nice and respectful Clearly the customer experience is a priority Food was good, a lot of options: buffet, Mexican resto, Italian resto, sushi bar, Brazilian resto and room service Well located: closed to 5th avenue were theirs a lot of shops and mamasita beach (the only place where the water was clear, no seaweed). Riu Palace Baja California: Nice new/clean place

While the rooms are nice, clean, modern and bright, the Riu Palace Baja California is more like a hotel than a resort. If you like to take time to explore the grounds, this is not the place for you. It is just a hotel on the water. The are four heated pools but they are all located in front of the hotel within throwing distance of each other and the activities/music are often competing with each other, making difficult to just relax around the pool at times. If you enjoy walking along the beac [... read more]h, know that this beach is very difficult to travel on due to extensive slanting. Be prepared to repeatedly be approached by merchants on the beach. Also, the hotel is located a fair distance to Cabos and cab ride is going to set you back $20 CAD each way so if you intend on going into town, you will have to add $$ to your stay here. We enjoyed a nice assortment of food and the staff was very courteous and friendly. Though they try, the nightly entertainment is not very good at all. If you don't like noise, request a room that is not facing the RIU Sante Fe next door. Loud music and parties are organized at the Sante Fe and many have complained that they couldn't sit on their decks or leave their patio doors open because of the excessive noise. These parties tend to end early enough though.

Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta: Beautiful resort

Hi. Hotel was nice and it was clean. The beach was pretty to look at but the sand was horrible. It says beachfront but you have to walk a certain distance over rocks to get to the water. The food was good but I expected buffet for breakfast lunch and dinner it was only at breakfast. Lunch you had to do a la carte. Dinner it was outside buffet style but they seated you at tables with other families. I feel it's a little deceptive when they say all inclusive Buffet. Viva Azteca by Wyndham: Exceeded expectations!

This was a last-minute booking. I had actually been at the Catalonia Royal Tulum in Riviera Maya earlier in January this year. That resort was brilliant. I expected something a notch below, in view of the fact that I was paying about half this time, admittedly later in the season. In fact I was amazed at the value. Mine was the cheapest room, but very roomy, large bathroom, etc. Friendly staff. Laid-back clientele, mainly western European and South American, and a few Canadians. Very easy-goin [... read more]g atmosphere. Few children. No queues to speak of, for anything. Smaller size,at just over 300 rooms. Never a problem finding a beach chair or shade, whereever I wanted to sit. A distinct no smoking area on the beach. Excellent buffet, with theme nights so repetition was minimal. The Italian and Mexican theme restaurants were very good. The former served an excellent filet mignon. The only real problem - not the resort's fault - was the heavy accumulation of seaweed which made normal beach walking difficult. The resort did well to clean it up each morning, so bathers could access the sea. One could still walk on the wide beach, though on soft sand. Located in the Playcar development, it is an easy walk into Playa del Carmen. I actually walked to the ferry and went to Cozumel for the afternoon. I never did use the facilities of the sister Wyndham resort. I couldn't really find a serious fault with this resort. It is at least the 4.2 Sunwing rating. Based on the difference in cost I would choose this over the Catalonia Royal Tulum which I thought was a true 5 star. The difference in the two was minimal.

Hotel Emporio Ixtapa: Highs and Lows here

Lets start with the good. The staff truly (for the most part, well get to that) make this a great hotel. From the bell hop to the ladies seating you at the restaurant, nothing could make them better. Except one. The grounds, and the hotel itself is (again for the most part) kept very well. The food is what the food is, its Mexico, not Paris. The staff member that made the best impression was the lady at the coffee cart. She truly was a great representation of what the hotel should be.  [... read more]The hotel amenities are sparse at best, but that is one thing that drew me to it, as the wife and I are not stay on the resort the whole vacation kind of people. The pool is kept clean, as is the kids area, and the hot tub. Grounds maintenance was second to none. The location of the resort to the local area is perfect. Locals due use this hotel as well as tourists, which is another great item, you are forced to immerse yourself into their world. Shopping, restaurants, etc. directly across the street, with a tourist "market" a few min. walk away. Market is in quotes as they don't have much in the way of local artisanal items, more of the same factory manufactured in china goods that all tourist areas have. Now the bad. As mentioned above the cleanliness of the resort in a whole is great, except the bathroom in the room we had (708). The support handle in the shower has separated from the tile at the lower mount, and in there is about a half inch of black mold growing and festering. I made mention of this to the front desk on two separate occasions, but nothing has been done (at least at the time of my leaving) to rectify this. Mold in the shower may not be a downturn for most family's, or people, but my wife only has 1 lung, so any infection can be extremely harmful to her well being. Over all a great place, and I would consider going back if only I could be ensured the mold issue has been handled in the room before I drop the cash.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Fantastic resort

The resort was more than we could have imagined and we were thrilled with everything! The staff was wonderful and couldn't do enough for us. The food was great and we especially liked the peace and quiet of Sian Ka'an. The lush vegetation was unexpected and we especially loved the golf course and wildlife which was evident everywhere.

Dreams Jade Resort and Spa: Great stay!

Beautiful,lush grounds. Amazing service. Way more seaweed than expected but they work all day to clean it up, therefore beach was not great & only a small part of the resort is good for swimming. Rooms were very comfortable.

Our second stay at a Now Resort and was excellent. Previous stay was Now Amber in Puerto Vallarta. Staff, grounds and restaurants all excellent. Only downside was amount of seaweed. Nothing they can do to stop that but there must be a quicker way of cleaning it up every morning.
