Resonance Blu Varadero: GREAT PLACE

pools were great/food was good/rooms were great but is a very large resort and we to old to walk from the beach to the buffet and from our room so they graciously moved us closer to everything. The customer service was awesome.

Club Tropical: Perfect location!

Just returned yesterday from a week at Club Tropical. We travelled as a group of 10, which included 6 adults and 4 children, ages 12 - 19. I picked this resort for its awesome central location and because it was a small resort (only 143 rooms, I think). We stayed in the apartments, which are definitely dated, but very roomy - 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, sitting room and balcony. There was plenty of hot water and toilet paper, contrary to what I have read in other reviews. BUT the fridge was not sto [... read more]cked with anything, no bottled water or pop, beer. We just bought a bottle of water and had it refilled at the bar, if needed. The food was acceptable. I am a pretty picky eater, but never went away hungry. The bread is always amazing! Yes, some of the stuff is repetitive, but just don't eat the same stuff every day, unless you love it. I ate pasta twice every day because I liked it. Each to their own. Wine with lunch and supper every day was nice. Of course, the beach is the reason everyone goes to Cuba, and it was no exception here. Gorgeous white sand and 'walk right in' ocean water. We never had a problem getting beach chairs or palpalpas, even with some locals taking up some space. Here is my one major complaint with this resort. On Thursday night, I'm guessing it was a whole bus load of Cubans descended on the resort. I asked the beach bartender where they were from and she said Havana. They took over the pool, the buffet and the bar for the whole weekend. And left a huge mess behind, plastic cups and food everywhere. And to make it worse, the staff ALWAYS served the Cubans first, no matter if you were standing there beforehand or not. When Sunday afternoon rolled around, they were gone and it was peaceful once again. For this reason alone, I will not go to this resort again, which is a shame really because it is right on the main strip, within walking distance to pretty much everything. The one bright spot in our whole resort experience was Madeline, the beach bartender. She was adorable and had a smile and a 'honey' for us every time.

Los Delfines: Amazing Place

Was very small hotel, each one I liked, nice and in front of sea, there is a veranda where you can have your morning coffee. Pool was clean, but there were no beach chairs to use. Food was good, the rooms were nice and clean and changing the towel every day.

Playa Caleta: Fair deal

Hotel location A1. Rooms Type Cuba Food : Great for Cuba..not too many choices but tasty. Cheese taste amazing btw. Nice people. Guests French Qc, Russians mostly. Young and Retaired mix. Great shows in the evening for mature people, nice club for youngsters. Bugs ..yeah ..some..but you are down south so expect some...and be prepared. Beach ..not too far...sandy..shades not too many..reservations towel type..but manageable..see the lifeguard/security if need hlp... Tips welcomed but they are not [... read more] too agressive. Dont be cheap...and they will love you !

Club Tropical: Well worn, okay food, hard to get a drink

Our room was okay, nothing fancy. Toilet seat wasn't attached and shower curtain fell down constantly but it was clean and had plenty hot water (except weekend). Sheets were clean but covers well stained and banished to the closet on arrival! Our friends room was disgusting and had mildew throughout (very soft you could almost put your hand through the wall). Don't expect a courtesy room if you have a late flight - we were told we'd get one but didn't. Had to pay an extra 20 pesos just for a few extra hours! Great location but wouldn't go back.

Club Kawama: cute rustic version

Beautiful beach as always....cute rustic looking....renovations are still being done but considering this is one of the oldest resorts in Veradero the resort is in pretty good shape....good entertainment

Resonance Blu Varadero: Incredible place

Had an amazing time, friendly staff and decent service, landscaping was wonderful and overall gorgeous place, celebrated my birthday here and was very much satisfied, surpassed my overall expectations

Memories Jibacoa: Dianne

I found the resort intimate, well designed, friendly. The food was good, service excellent and lots to do both on the resort and off the resort. We took advantage of the location and went into Havana which was amazing. The Tropicana show was a delight.

Resonance Blu Varadero: great time!!!

This resort was great!, Lots of nice people working there, and for Cuba...hotel was clean and tidy! Food was decent, wish we would have been able to have more a-la-cartes, instead of just 2. needed more variety in the meals, since there is only 1 buffet restaurant to eat at.

Muthu Playa Varadero: Great resort, great price

Our stay at la Playa De Oro was great. The pool was large and sectioned so there was plenty of room to swim or just float around. I noticed how clean the whole hotel was – they maintain it very well, which is nice. We ate at 2 of the 3 restaurants and the food was good. There’s 4 bars and a couple of them have food too. I was surprised because everyone says “you don’t go to Cuba for the food” – but in this case, everything was very good. The beach is only a 2 minute walk and it’s a [... read more] large beach with lots of lounges and umbrellas. Varadero has one of the nicest beaches and the stretch of beach at Playa De Oro shows it off wonderfully. There’s also a restaurant and a bar at the beach. The barbeque at the beach restaurant was excellent! They had a Cuban band playing at times during the day and evening, there’s a show at night (incredible dancers!), and there’s a club at the hotel called La Bomba for dancing later in the evening. I’ve been to many different hotels in Cuba and I must say, this hotel is worth checking out. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The price was great and will definitely be staying here again.

Los Delfines: Nice Resort

Beautiful place but animation way to loud. Food is really bad but drinks are good and coffe bar is amazing. Staff is unequal, some are really nice other are such a d***. It's a good spot downtown and the beach is really wonderfull as cuba can be.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: All around 5 Star

The hotel and staff are wonderful. I have stayed in Cuba at least 8 times and by far this place had the best service and food I have ever had. Well worth the money. I purchased this trip through trip central and taxes in was $1039. Incredible price!!!!!

Memories Jibacoa: MEMORIES JIBACOA

THIS IS MY 2ND VACATION AT THIS RESORT. IT IS PARADISE. l LOVE THE CUBAN PEOPLE AND THEIR HOSPITALITY. THE BEACH IS BEAUTIFUL. I CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK. LIFE IS SIMPLE: WORK, SAVE, AND GO BACK TO MEMORIES JIBACOA!

Muthu Playa Varadero: Resort was okay.

This was our second time at the hotel. We requested room facing the pool and they gave us a room with ocean view. We were on the third floor and barely saw the ocean with all the trees and plants covering the view. We were nexy to an elevator that beeped all night and the rooms were very cold. They gave us a small free rum bottle because this was our second time staying and a complementry lobster dinner that was very chard and salty. Although we appreciated these little perks we found that the h [... read more]otel was not as great this time around. The food was not as good, the pool bar had no veriety for rum and the snack bar burgers did not taste good at all. When we wanted to be at the pool there were never enough beach chairs and at the beach there was never enough shade. We still made the best of our stay and always went to the bar at the lobby as this was the only one that had good rum and very nice bartenders. I think next time we will try another hotel, unless I get a very good price with playa de oro.

Grand Memories Varadero: My 3rd time at grand memories

In terms of rooms I give it four stars . Pools are in amazing there is a quite pool and and nice active pool were all activities . And they both are very nice to swim in and very clean . Overall of food has some flavor and there was food that you eat and find at any restaurant you go to. staff is very very kind and specially the kids club staff and the Sunwing reps in varadaro. To my relation one person was very not nice but that didn't reuin my experience. Club Tropical: Cuban experience

The beach experience was stunning .. this small resort has a comfy homey feel with walking access to Markets, restaurants and night life. There is room for improvement however... even the best of our rooms (3 in our group) had maintenance issues... broken toilet seat, shower curtains that won't stay up, and air conditioner that banged and kept you up at night. The worst room had black mold theoughout most of the bathrooms and halfway up the walls and when brought to the staffs attention, they di [... read more]d nothing. There was only one pool at the hotel and the maximum depth was 4 feet so I was a bit dissappointed by this. Fortunately the beach made up for this. 5 We flew out at 10pm so needed to leave at 7pm from the hotel. We were told by our booking agents that even though we were to check out by 12 noon that we would be given a courtesy room so we could have a shower before leaving for the airport. The staff at the hotel unfortunately, so that was not the case and there would be no place for us to have a shower but if we wanted to have a late check-out they would charge us an additional charge. More than anything else this last item has left me feeling very frustrated and I feel that the booking agents were deceitful in how they portrayed what we were buying. One last item his it would be helpful if staff at some point could better Direct how to avoid sand flea bites as I came home with very painful swollen bites all over both legs from the knee down. I did use insect repellent with DEET but this did not seem to deter this sneaky, unseen but very insistent insect.

Brisas Del Caribe: large resort

the resort was nice but too big to make it personal. Most of the staff were great, although a couple of them could have been more pleasant, after all, we were on vacation!! We did not pay to be barked at!! Food was good, room nice and maid was very pleasant.

Palma Real: Decent resort for our money spent

I feel this resort was great for what I was looking for. I don't go on vacation to get pampered like a queen, I go for the vacation. Good was good compared to others I stayed at in Cuba. Room was decent to lay my head when need be and the grounds 23rd perfect. Not too large but jus enough.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Mediocre Resort

Not what I expected at all..very large, 15 min walk to the beach. Rude workers (expected a tip or sometimes wouldn't offer help) When maid service was carried out, sheets or towels were never exchanged. Food was not impressive - I think I lost weight on an all inclusive resort Bar staff at the quiet pool were amazing, by far the highlight of the resort. Punta Peninsula Varadero: Blau Marina Varadero

Resort was good, with rooms and grounds kept quite clean . Some of the room are quite decrepit though and may require upgrading - had to request change of room as a result. Staff was courteous, polite generally and responsive to request
