Resonance Blu Varadero: Amazing Hotel Experience

Hotel is very clean. Staff is extremely friendly. Language barrier is not a problem. Every day was packed with many activities at the resort. Beach life was great, beach volleyball, parasailing, sleeping and tanning. Pool side was awesome, with a huge tube slide. Felt like I never left Canada, so many Canadians at the resort. Weather is blessed.

Roc Barlovento: BEAUTIFUL LOCATION & FOOD WAS GREAT

RIGHT ON THE OCEAN. LOVELY POOLS. EASY WALK TO THE TOWN FOR SHOPPING, SIGHTSEEING & OTHER RESTAURANTS. THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT IN THE MEXICAN, MEDITERRANEAN AND THE SHUSI RESTAURANTS. THERE WERE BBQ'S AT THE OUTSIDE PATIO EACH LUNCH HOUR WHICH HAD DELICIOUS MEATS.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Amazing resort

Was a great hotel the staff are fantastic, truly go above and beyond for the guests. Went down for a wedding with a group of 27 had a great week, would recommend and would return for another vacation.

Gran Caribe Sun Beach: motorcycles???

front desk people rude. rude,rude!!! would not even look up when we went to speak to them! the food and service were barely passable. if you like bikers,this is the place for you. in full leathers and colors on their bikes around the pool deck and in the lobby as well. we also got to watch the biker mama pluck her eyebrows while sitting sipping her espresso in the front lobby!!!tacky tacky!never again!!

Playa Caleta: great people

I loved our stay at the bellvue palma real. My expectations were not high especially going ro such a poor country.. but I loved it!!! The Palma real was a great location and our maid was wonderful. I did loose a few pounds there which was great!! Food was okay.. I would defiantly go back. .

Punta Peninsula Varadero: fun for family

friendly staff, resort could use a freshning up. Mattresses as hard as rocks. Food is ok. Hard to get pool towels so once you get them hold onto them. Bar service was great at all the bars. Beach was ok.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: very nice resort

the grounds are good except the water ways around and about the resort, they could use a coat of paint, would improve them a lot. Service was good, and the best beach that I have ever seen. Can't complain about the food, as some do, there was always something good to eat. The butlers are a nice touch.

Muthu Playa Varadero: Terrible resort accomodations

The resort has access to a beautiful beach but it ends there. The rooms are not good and the food is terrible. I found hair in the pineapple tray and the staff that serve you are rude. The front desk staff are the worst ever.

Occidental Arenas Blancas: Never go to Barcelo Arenas Blancas again!

Our room was filthy with mold and rot around the bathroom doors, tub, sink, floor. tiles etc. The maid service was not great, but the service at the bar, buffet, and alacarte was very good. Overall the food was average.Beach was okay but the lounge chairs were pretty worn out. The pool was not cleaned the whole week and many of the tiles were floating in the water.We had paid for a "Superior" room but it had been given to someone else and they gave us a room in the oldest wing of the hotel where [... read more] buses and taxis rumbled by day and night.

Occidental Arenas Blancas: Great resirt

Room was clean, grounds well kept and meals were very good. Nice shaded area by beach. Excellent client service provided by Onay for suggesting restaurants and very professional in all information he provided us.

Club Kawama: Great Location

This is definitely a 3 Star Resort. The food was basic, you could always find something to eat and we did not get sick! We were in 300 block which does not have private balconies but once we were able to move to an end room we had achieved that goal as no one could walk by us! We were disappointed in the beach as it was not a good beach to walk on. There was a lot of garbage on it along with broken shells. The location was excellent, lots of places to walk to. Muthu Playa Varadero: Great Resort

Playa D'Oro exceeded our expectations. Rooms were very clean, with snow white bathtowels changed every second day. Air Conditioning certainly did it's job. Public washrooms were immaculate, always being maintained by workers, lots of paper. Grounds were spectacular and clean. Awesome huge pool. Iberostar Origin Tainos: Beautiful Beach

Just returned from seven days at the Iberostar Tainos, the staff are amazing and the beach is outstanding!!!! Everyone goes out of their way to make sure your stay is the best it can be!! The resort does need some updating, the entry way, the stair case , the lobby furniture, the bedding just to name a few! The food does get repetitious but the staff once again try very very hard to make it enjoyable! The rooms are very clean and the cleaning staff work hard. We would return to this resort because of the people but would love to see the updates done to make it even better!

Resonance Blu Varadero: Our Best Cuban Holiday so far!

The resort was fantastic-something for all of us (13-75 age span! Shows were very good and proffessional. The staff an people of Cuba were so pleasant . Curteous-my mother ha ha travelled to Cuba before I could not stop s how the f ood was quit good (we opted for a seaside lobster dinner! YUM) an the people are so wonderful.

Resonance Blu Varadero: wonderful beach

Had a wonderful vacation in Cuba as always . This was my first visit to Varadero .The beach was excellent the best in Cuba. The resort was large, a lot of walking which was fine but at night the pathways needed more lighting. The food was a bit better than most Cuban resorts I stayed at prior.The grilled fish was very good.The drinks were not good most came from the slushy machine which didn't work very well as most of the time they were not slushy cold. The bars kept running out of ice and a lo [... read more]t of ingredients such as tonic water, mint, lime .The Spanish coffee was very good.The rooms needed a lot of work the maids did an excellent job as they were kept clean neat and tidy but the room felt damp and musty even with the air conditioner and there was a lot of mold on the walls and curtains. There was always lots of hot water and great pressure.We had no issues with the toilet in our room.The maid always left us fresh towels and water everyday. Any of the public bathrooms I used were functioning and clean.The buffet main dining room was very warm just wonder why they don't use the ceiling fans. The smaller beach buffet was great for breakfast and lunch in the mornings if your rooms were close to the beach,but not a fan of the many birds feasting on the buffet .The grounds were beautiful and well kept .Cant tell you much about the pools as we spent all our time at the beach . They looked clean. Sunwing were on top of there game this year no delays either way thumbs up ! This is my sixth year travelling south and booking with trip central which always serves us well .Would I book this hotel again probably not but would not discourage anyone else from using it if the price was right. I try to give an honest review,

Barcelo Solymar: Beautiful beach!

We stayed at the Barceló Solymar from March 30 - April 6, 2016. This was my second time at the Solymar and my boyfriend's first time in Varadero. The hotel was very clean, the staff very friendly and helpful and the best part was the warm weather (37 degrees Celsius), powder soft white sand and incredible turquoise waters. The hotel is in a great location - so close to town. The food was good - ate at the buffets for breakfast, lunch and some dinners (the grill stations in the morning make fres [... read more]h eggs - scrambled, omelets, etc. and for lunch and dinners they grill up fresh shrimp, fish, chicken, beef & pork), wide variety - no reason for anyone to go hungry. They have lots of breads, salads, fruits, crepe station, etc. Because it was my second time at the Barcelo, we were able to pick 3 a la carte restaurants (chose the Mexican, seafood and Japanese - all delicious) and were able to eat at the seafood restaurant for lunch - again great food. We ate off the resort twice - once in Havana at El Canonazo (not far from the fortress) - it's a tucked away restaurant which is very quaint with amazing food - chose the platter for two - wide variety of lobster, shrimp, fish, etc. and then at The Cave (also known as La Gruta del Vino) - amazing small restaurant inside a cave which seats around 20 people. Had the lobster and shrimp - which were huge and so delicious. The staff and owners were super friendly - they gave my boyfriend a Cohiba cigar and we signed our wine bottle to go up on the cave wall. This place is a must if you are in Varadero. While in Havana we took in the show at the Tropicana - a must see. What an amazing show. Loved our trip to Cuba - beautiful country with lots of history (going into Havana is a must) with incredibly friendly people. Will return!

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Great Resort

First time traveling to Cuba. Great resort. Butler service was a nice bonus. People are wonderful in Cuba. Beach was the best I have seen. Night shows were ok but have seen better at other resorts. Would stay there again for sure!

Muthu Playa Varadero: Lovely Resort

A great spot - wonderful beach & staff. Rooms are fine. The food at the outside grill near the beach was delicious at lunch with live music. Grilled fish, meat & veggies along with rice & beans. All in all we really enjoyed our stay there and would go back.

Barcelo Solymar: Relatively inexpensive vacation

There have been some upgrades to the outside areas since our last visit, however, the rooms have deteriorated. The pool is good but the area under the palm trees on the far side was not swept and the garbage bins not emptied for several days until I complained. The lounge chairs, although relatively new, were dirty and could use a power wash. The staff were mostly wonderful. Morgan and Lala who work at the pool bar were fantastic. The food is as one can expect in Cuba. There is variety but it is [... read more] all quite bland. The fresh caught fish is always good but most of the meat is inedible. I would suggest staying away from the lettuce as I believe it is washed in local water and it had a rather bad effect on my companion. All the other salads were fine. The staff told us that they worried because the number of Canadians visiting had decreased considerably - I am not surprised. The sister resort next door (The Arena Blanca) is more desirable. The one good thing about these two resorts is the fact that one can walk into town or catch a local yellow taxi almost anywhere for five pesos.

Grand Memories Varadero: Enjoyed our vacation

We really liked the resort. It was clean, the grounds were very nice and the people who work there are great. There is a lot of variety of food but we were sometimes disappointed with the preparation and the buffet was hectic most of the time. The snack bars were less hectic and good food there. I must say they are creative if they run out of things! The room was also nice and clean. The beach was awesome as always!
