Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Amazing Resort!

This is an amazing resort! House Band is great! Beach very clean! Buffet and A la Carte Restaurants gave Superior Food! We would come back and recommend to friends for sure! Hotel Staff very helpful! Bravo to the Hotel Management!

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Huge resort but a lot of great chill spots!

During the week we stayed we enjoyed the pools/swim up bars. The beach was pretty busy but it's very nice to walk along. The buffet had a lot to offer and a theme every night which was nice to look forward to. There was a great selection of a la carte restaraunts to choose from so we enjoyed the Italian, Japanese and the Mexican. Lobby bar was a cool chill out spot on the white patio tables. And the carts that take you around this huge property were a bonus.

Excellence Punta Cana: Great resort, grey vacation

We just returned from the Excellence resort and this was our first trip to an all inclusive resort. This is a fantastic resort and we will definetly be going back as soon as we can. When we arrived, we had a shuttle ride to the resort with a number of other couples. The Excellence was the last resort for the shuttle so we had a quick view of the entrance to 3 other resorts As we dropped people off. The first noticeable difference was the security. They confirmed who we were before we were even allowed on the property ( none of this happened at the other resorts). The other big difference was in the up keep of the grounds. The grounds, gardens, walkways that we saw just driving in were perfect - not a weed or uncut grass anywhere. Once we were in the resort it was the same quality everywhere - Staff were cleaning and maintaining the grounds all the time. The beach was hand raked every morning around the loungers and the main beach area was machine groomed. Walkways were swept and mopped regularly and the pools cleaned daily. I am an early riser so I saw all the hard work being done by the staff before most people even woke up. We stayed in building 14, 2nd floor with a garden room. We did not upgrade to the Excellence Club and it was not needed in my opinion. The room was at the far end of the resort and was very quiet and the wifi was fine. The room was lovely and was cleaned every day and our fridge was always refilled. Even our special request for extra water and Diet Coke was fulfilled immediately and always maintained. We also had someone show up for turn down service every day. Some reviews complained that rooms weren't cleaned or towels replaced. They do have notes that any towels left in the tub will be replaced and we always left the "clean room" card in the door when we went out. We were not able to go to all of the restaurants but we did not have a bad meal at any of the ones we went to. We went to both the Lobster house and Toscana for breakfast. We also went to Las Olas and Toscana for lunches. The buffet at Toscana was always different with a good mix of choices. For dinner we went to Toscana, Flavor Market, Oregano, Chez Isabelle, and the Grill. The Chateaubriand was fantastic at Chez Isabelle and we loved sampling everything at the Flavor Market. My only advice to anyone going is be open to trying different foods and you will have some great meals. We also used room service a few times and the food was great. Sometimes it took a little while longer than they said it would but these were at peak times (after the shows when everyone goes back to their rooms). We also enjoyed the meal and entertainment outside for the "White" event. My wife and I had a couples massage and hydro jet treatment at Miile Spa. It was a very enjoyable experience in a beautiful facility. We did wait for one of the daily specials because we did find the spa a little pricey. My wife and I also had a couple's massage ay Nancy's off the resort (immediately to the left of the resort). It looks a little rough, but Sandy does not pressure you to buy anything and Maria and Ingra give a great massage on the second floor ($110 for a couple - a lot less than resorts spa). When we were leaving we ran into some people at the airport that arrived at the same time we did. As we were waiting to board the plane we compared our experiences at the different resorts. It was clear that Excellence was a step above all the rest in terms of service and facilities. Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Beautiful beach

The renovated room that we stayed in May of been partly renovated. The shower was awful. I am pretty sure there was mold or mildew on the tiles of the shower. because of all the black splotches. The line ups at the a la carte restaurants were beyond ridiculous. No reservations accepted at most, so a one to two hour wait was typical. The staff were not that friendly for the most part. Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Good

Nice resort. Good staff and food was pretty good. Buffet was decent and the steak at the grill a la cart was great. Rooms were good but some people had flooding issues. Only real complaint is that all the bars except the disco close at 11:30? Also, the mid area pool bar in the punta Cana section had no snack bar? You had to go to the buffet in the lobby? That was a drag. However the beach area with pool and beach was good.

Stayed for a week with my sister at this amazing resort with we had such an amazing time we didn't want to leave! Beach, Pool, Food, Rooms, Grounds, Shows are all perfect! Hotel staff and service is A+

Overall... Was a wonderful place! The hotel was fabulous! Very spacious & clean. The pools, foods, drinks & the staff were all fabulous. A little bit short of entertainment day & night. The mode of transportation around different resorts were fun & handy! The a la carte was quite of a disappointment! Mostly fully booked! So whatever is left we took it. Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Amazing time!

Great hotel and staff. Food was excellent and would recommend Japanese, Italian, and Garden grill. Beautiful beaches and pools. Enjoyed my stay in Punta Cana. I would definitely recommend this hotel to both families and couples!

Grand Bavaro Princess: Beautiful resort with such friendly people!

The dining areas were beautiful with an openspace- concept where tropical birds can watch you eating without trying to grab your food. Rooms were carefully arranged and decorated. Nightly entertainment was great!

Occidental Punta Cana: Had a great stay!

My friends and I (two couples) loved our stay at the Occidental Grand Punta Cana! We all agree that the staff are what really made the trip fun/wonderful - shout out to Franklin at the beach bar for keeping us hydrated with his special drink mixes and water too (you work so hard!), Wilken at the lobby bar for being so friendly and funny, Alexander who bounced around the restaurants and always made us laugh, and Ramon for all the super fun activities and his amazing dancing skills!! That aside, t [... read more]he areas that we all felt could be improved upon are: The floor of the main pool was rough and we all ended up with cuts on our feet from it by the end of the trip. There were also pool lights that were dangling in the pool, needing repair. The waterfall over the pool bar would have ruined our drinks if we hadn't brought Bubba Mugs - perhaps it's an unnecessary feature? There was garbage on the beach, in the sand. The rooms were nice, but we rated them 3/5 stars in comparison to rooms at other resorts we've stayed at. We were informed the resort will be undergoing renovations and hope this is true as it will make the resort that much more amazing! A few more positives: The night time shows were fabulous and entertaining, the food was delicious and we loved the all night pizza, the landscaping was great, and we also loved the animals that went around for photos! It was good value for the money we paid, and we had an amazing experience we'll never forget!!!

The rooms were clean and beautiful, food was wonderful beach was amazing... and the staff were soooooo friendly. The shows an nig were very entertaining...I will be back to th wonderful resort. Lov it!

Paradisus Punta Cana: Nice resort.

The grounds are beautiful and vast with flowers, trees, lights and music at night. The room are comfortable and big. The cleaning services are a bit inconsistant: no face and hand cloths after the first day, 4 towels one day, 1 the next. Shampoo and soap were replenish only once. The beach is amazing:nice sand,no shell or rock. The pool is nice but not very big compared with other resorts. We weren't Royal so we didn't have access to the other pool. The big disappointment was the restaurant rese [... read more]rvations. Although it was saying unlimited a la carte dinners on the Trip Central website, they were giving us only 4 out of 7. That is something that I always check before choosing the resort. The rest of the time,we were supposed to go to the buffet which was not very good. My husband complained and they gave us another reservation to the Buffet in the Royal part which was better. The a la carte restaurants were mostly good, depending on what you order. There is no sport bar with pool tables which we really like to spend time usually. The ping pong tables are outside and damaged. There are bicycles everywhere which is nice and shuttle trains to go around the resort. 30 minutes from the airport with direct transfer. No snorkeling (no reefs) in front of the resort.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Great stay!

Very clean, amazing beach, beautiful grounds, friendly staff. Weather was perfect only rained twice but at night. Justino at the colonial club lounge was terrific. Nicole at front desk was very attentive and followed up. Henry our butler was very helpful. Go see santo Domingo it's awesome

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: My little piece of heaven

I have vacationed in Punta Cana 11 times, but I found my little piece of heaven at the Ambar resort where I stayed in 2013, 2014 and 2016. The Ambar was my husband's favorite resort because of the lush tropical landscaping, the pristine rooms, the beautiful beach and the wonderful staff. It only made sense that my first solo trip following the death of my husband on August 1, 2015 would be to the Ambar where I feel safe and comfortable. It felt like I had come "home". The grounds were impeccabl [... read more]y maintained with lush foliage. The walkways were well-lit and cleaned everyday. I always felt safe, even when walking in the dark at night. My room was large and inviting and I enjoyed the whirlpool bathtub during my stay. I appreciated the little box of chocolates left on the bed every night. Most of all, I was happy to see my Dominican "family". My plan had been to spend a very quiet week (May 6-13, 2016) reading and doing yoga, pilates, tai chi and water aerobics. (Many thanks to José who taught these classes in 2013, 2014 and 2016.) Well, so much for my plans.... The entertainment in the Ambar lobby was extremely good. While I was certain that I would never dance again, three new friends that I met in Punta Cana (Donna R, Donna M and Vincente) as well as a member of the animation team (Carlos) got me onto the dance floor where I learned to move and smile again. Given the abundance of excellent food and premium drinks on the resort, it was a good thing that the music called to me and helped me burn off a few calories!! I cannot thank the management team enough for ensuring that I had a room at Ambar 1 where I had stayed with my husband in 2013 and 2014 and where I was familiar with the layout and the staff. I owe a debt of gratitude to the musicians, animation team and to my new friends who helped me stand on my feet again and to see joy in living and dancing. Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Average resort

Service is awful, my TV did not work properly for ~4 days, a phone did not work at all for almost 29 hours. I asked more that 8 times practically everybody at the reception to fix it. Nothing was done. It looks like nobody is interested at helping us, customers. We already paid for the vacation and that's it. Food was below average. Tables, dishes, forks, spoons were often dirty...

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Nearly Perfect

Very happy food wise, amenities, exquisite property. 3 cons: never any beach towels available, lots of empty cups on the side of the pool and encountered a lot of grumpy staff members. Overall though, really happy and would definitely return! Love the Bahia chain!

Occidental Punta Cana: Great vacation! Beautiful beach!! Need of update.

I stayed here with my best friend May 9-16, 2016. Great place!! Needs some renovating.. but they just started so it would be worth checking out once they are complete! Rooms not ready until after 3pm so have to wait around if you get there earlier. Rooms not in great shape and in need of some serious TLC and updated technology/machines, but how long do you spend in your room anyways?! Italian restaurant best of our trip. Mexican restaurant was horrible. Beach is beautiful!!! Pools are very nice too! Spent most of our time at pool and beach. We didn't do any excursions or nightlife activities as we were usually up pretty early but there are tons of nightlife and excursion options though. Great relaxing and fun vacation. Overall, would return here only after all renovations are completed. After update this place would be even more amazing!!

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Amazing Adult/Family Resort

Luxury Bahia Principe Esmeralda Resort is great. As part of the bahia compund there are about 5 resorts ( 2 luxury and 3 grand) plus 1 more that is under construction. Having access to all resorts is amazing. They have activities for adults and children all day. While we were they rumors is that they will be converting the Esmeralda to an exclusive all adults resort by Nov 2016. Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Wonderful resort

We had a return trip to the colonial and we enjoyed every minute! Everything is very nice and clean! We go there for the fAbulous beach! We have travelled to many places and Bavaro beach is our fAvorite! The pools are also wonderful and there are plenty of chairs and never seems crowded! We have stayed colonial club a few times and experienced the swim up room! That is perfect but less private! This time we stayed on the 4 the floor which was great and the room had high ceilings!
