Melia Puerto Vallarta: Perfect relaxing holiday

The staff go out of their way to make your holiday perfect. The rooms were clean and the grounds were well kept. The entertainment was great. There was always something going on, archery, ping pong, volleyball, water aerobics, mini put, rock wall climbing and assorted pool games.The waiters actually run to serve you. The food was great and the sunsets fabulous. I had a great time.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Highly Recommend this resort (especially for families)

This is a newer resort and it shows - everything was in great condition! The room was large, the beds were amazingly comfortable, good sized balcony with table/chairs, exactly how it looked on the website photos. The resort property is large enough that you get a little walking in during the day, but not too big. Multiple pools offer options; one has huge water park for kids, one is "adults only" which is nice and has the adult entertainment, one is for everyone. There is a pool right on the  [... read more]beach - the beach was great, sufficient number of comfortable lounge chairs, a pool and restaurant right on the beach, pleasant music playing but nothing too loud and crazy. The food was fabulous! Multiple restaurants, 2 buffets, the guacamole was to die for!!!! The only negative is that there weren't enough staff in the buffet in the mornings (coffee was a bit of time coming on some days) but that was the ONLY thing that could have been improved upon. There's a cute "street" down the middle of the resort with restaurants on one side and shops/casino/coffee place/gym/spa/ice cream shop/bowling alley - felt a little like an upper scale shopping district. The front desk staff were always available and helpful. The entertainment at night was exceptional by resort standards. There was always something really fun happening before the shows that entertained the kids and then the actual shows were amazing. I have traveled south quite a bit, Cuba, Dominican, Mexico, Bahamas - and this is in the top 2 resorts I've stayed at. If you have a family with smaller children this is the resort for you. Although, having said that, as 2 adults travelling there was enough separation for us to not feel as though we were surrounded by kids all the time either. A really nice balance.

Hyatt Vivid Playa Del Carmen: Lovely experience

The hotel was beautiful, spacious, friendly staff and great food! The romantic dinner on the beach was delicious. Lots of entertainment at the hotel, delicious fresh juices in the morning and wide variety of alcohol 24/7. This trip could not have been better. Only downside was there was a lot of seaweed in the water but the hotel did its best to clean it up everyday and if you walk a little further down the beach the amount of seaweed gets less.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Solid 4 Star Resort

Beautiful grounds and pools. Food is great at buffets. Staff are friendly and helpful. Great place if you have children. The beach is beautiful, they grade it all the time to remove the seaweed. Lots of activities at pool and beach. Nighttime shows at the theatres. If I had to say something negative I would mention the lack of shower curtains in bathroom; makes it difficult to share the bathroom. Our room had a musty old smell but the room itself was clean.

Barcelo Maya Caribe: Good Resort

Friendly staff; ground floor rooms were noisy after 11 pm at night since the revelers were getting back; washrooms were dirty (restaurants and towel service areas) and could use a system similar to Ontario, Canada whereby the cleaner signs a sheet located inside the washroom every hour (i.e. that the washroom has been serviced);

Golden Parnassus Resort & Spa: Worst resort we have ever been to!

This resort is definitely not a 4.5 star! A 3 star at best. The food and beverages were terrible. Could not drink the wine or beer. The food was below average. The hotel is run down. Our room was terrible.. not even a picture on the walll. No fridge in the room. Tv had 4 channels all in Spanish. I could go on and on but it’s just too depressing and upsetting that I spent a week of my holidays at such a horrible resort. There are so many beautiful resorts on the Cancun hotel zone... this one has to be the worst!

Dreams Huatulco: Huatulco

The hotel was nice but had a few big drawbacks. There was only one tennis court and it shared the same space as basketball court. I was only open from 7 - 10 am bc it was located above the spa. This was very limiting for our family of 5. We would like to play tennis st same time as boys played basketball ( not possible) plus you needed to reserve the court the night before and often it was already booked. I definitely would warn people of this very frustrating facility limitation. Also the [... read more] restaurants were often closed ( only 3 choices and 1 being the buffet). Finally there is no swim up bar which was very disappointing. Great location though - awesome beach and nice big pools located right near beach which was a big plus.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Nice Resort, Great Staff

The room was comfortable and large. The resort is quite large but I didn't find it overly hard to get around. I did not use the pool, don't like loud music. Never had a problem finding a beach chair which is important to me. The beach has some rocky areas, but you can navigate around them. A La Carte restaurants were good. Buffet always had something good to eat. Staff at the buffet restaurant are very friendly. A little far from the airport.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Amazing resort

This was our second time staying in Ocean Riviera Paradise. The resort is very beautiful . It is a big resort ,very clean and a lot to do. The beach is very nice too. We stayed in ElBeso adult only. Rooms are clean and nicely furnished. Food is exellent in all restaurant .We did not visit the Mexican restaurant this year. The staff is very helpful also. The only problem here is if you have a problem walking and you want to go to the beach you have to take a trolleys and you have to wait a long t [... read more]ime till they come. If you are in privileged club they go always almost empty but they do not stop for you.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Amazing resort

Loved everything about this resort. Friendly staff amazing beach! Lots of shopping and things to do! We swam with dolphins right on the resort. We had an amazing seven day trip and plan to take the family back in the future.

Occidental Cozumel: Beautiful Resort

The resort contained beautiful well maintained gardens and grounds which housed an array of wildlife such as iquanas, gekos and birds (if you're not an animal lover don't worry they will not approach you). The rooms were clean and spacious with lots of hot water and adequate air conditioning. Lots of choices at the buffet and food handling was of high standard. Adult pool was lovely and we enjoyed the daily visits by the iguanas but you had to select your pool chairs early in the morning if you wanted a spot. Beach was nice and contained a childerns pool nearby. I can’t say enough about the hotel staff they made every effort to make your stay enjoyable especially the food and bar servers. We also enjoyed the pizza at night and the nightly shows are of good quality. We arrived around 8:30pm at the Cozumel airport, ignore the sales people in the airport lobby (they make you think they're your hotel reps) and go directly through to meet your ride to the hotel which is ~20 min drive. Once at the hotel checkin took 10-15 min and then we were driven to our room. Even at 9pm the buffet area was open, also pizza was available upstairs in the open patio. We purchased the island tour package which was good but too long and snorkling (Charra- ch?? the bigger boat with a bathroom) which was fantastic, we saw turtles and a lot of fish, crew was great too. We recommend downloading your airline app on a cell phone to checkin to your flight prior to as it will eliminate standing in the very long checkin line at the airport. You receive 1hr free internet, there were 2 computers onsite I assume for flight checkin. Extra internet access can be purchased for a fee.

Ocean Coral and Turquesa: very nice hotel.

everything was good all areas food was good but sweets not at our expectation. Shows at night some good some not that good.all area around was clean and every day they maintain that cleanliness throughout the day. Time share representatives very bothering. Activities plenty to go.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Enjoyable resort

We enjoyed this resort, friendly staff and the food was great. Enjoyed using the Tulum resort as well. Nightly entertainment was good. If we were to stay again we would definitely prefer to be closer to the beach and would stay at Tulum.

Secrets Huatulco: Interesting resort

This was our first time in Huatulco and our first time at a Secrets resort. It was recommended to us as an amazing resort. In fact, we spoke to many people at the resort who were repeat guests, some even as many as 6 times. While the resort is quite beautiful in many ways, we were somewhat disappointed in several areas. The check-in procedure was very efficient and service in the restaurants, at the bars, and both poolside and beach drink s [... read more]ervice was very pleasant. Room service was impeccable! The room was clean and spacious. The food, while not the vast variety of choices we have experienced at other resorts, was always very tasty. It was some of the best tasting food we have had at a resort. There were lots of umbrellas and chairs around the pool and the grass covered shade structures and chairs on the beach were plentiful. The grounds are well maintained by a cheerful group of gardeners. However, there were a few things that affected our enjoyment of the week completely. First, there are visible signs, from the lobby through to our room, of neglect or shoddy repairs. The lobby is underwhelming and the fountain at the entrance isn't operating. The pools are in need of refurbishing, there is mold under the swim-up bar, and the waterfall between levels is just a series of pools. The elevator in our building (3) was hot and dirty. The stairwell next to the elevator was dark. The motion sensor lights only come on when you reach the top of the stairs. In our room, the sliding wall between the bed and the jacuzzi tub is warped and the mirror is water damaged. Pretty sure someone is having second thoughts about that idea. And the stairs between the two pool levels are downright dangerous! Finally, Castaways restaurant was our worst food experience of the week. Breakfast was extremely slow and supper was slow and the only meal I did not enjoy. I had the steak and shrimp skewers and could only eat the shrimp. I asked for not potatoes and so I got 2 skewers and that's it. Not even a few limp vegetables. The cooks in the Market Grill sure don't work up at Castaways. Also, this was the only time the service was so poor that we actually got angry. Will we go back? To be fair, we don't tend to repeat visit as there are so many places we have yet to go, however, considering the extra money we paid for this resort package, we will definitely not be returning.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Good resort but..

The hotel itself was beautiful. Good food (most restaurants) nice pools, the adults only hideaway section was the best area for us. The beach was full of sea weed and wasn’t the nice blue water. This was by far the busiest resort I’ve ever been too. Good and bad thing. So many kids and teenagers running around. It sucks cause the adults only section is so small and the resort itself is so big so you want/ need to leave the adults only section. Again good for the resort, a con for adults. The [... read more] entertainment was great! Both the adults only section and the regular sections entertainment was always good and different. The dorado was the best restaurant with the best food, in the adults only section! Would recommend. We ate there 3/7 nights. Buffets were awesome for breakfast lunch and dinner. A huge selection. Con: was always PACKED!! Like lineups. The hunter was another awesome steak house. Great food!! Service was great everywhere. The staff was super nice and always helpful! Overall would rate it 4/5. It is expensive though, on the higher end of Mexico stays.

Catalonia Playa Maroma: Loved this place!!!

I have nothing but great things to say about this resort! This was our first time in Mexico and we weren't sure what to expect, but this place blew us away. Super amazing and friendly staff, great food, beautiful beach, large pool, extremely clean.... We thought the Grill restaurant was by far the best, we ate there twice and it was amazing. We also loved the little taco truck and sausage stand beside the pool for lunch. So many good food options.

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Amazing resort

This was an wonderful resort with excellent facilities, restaurants, and activities for all ages. Would definitely go back to this resort in the future. Was a great vacation with all family members to celebrate an anniversary.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Very nice resort!!

Just got back from iberostar paraiso beach resort, it was amazing , the food was great. The beach was awesome,the room was spacious, and very clean. Had a awesome sunny week away...would recommend this resort...

Hotel Xcaret Mexico: An absolute paradise

Attention to every detail, the beauty of this resort cannot be overstated. Gorgeous natural beauty as well as luxurious extras. As someone with a dietary restriction (celiac disease), I had no issues whatsoever. We did many amazing excursions which were included and each exceeded our expectations. We will be back!

Haven Riviera Cancun: Great place!

Lovely grounds, amazing rooms- recommend serenity club for ocean front swim-up, close to airport. Beach good size and regularly maintained, some seaweed at times but under nature's control.
