Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya: Great service

Overall, the resort is small and perfect for families. The staff provided good service. The food could be better. The grounds were nice and cleaned, daily. As for the rooms, they are nice but have a musty odour.

Crown Paradise Golden: GOLDEN CROWN PARADISE

Good things: sun, beach, warm weather, staff was awesome Negative: seemed to be a party resort with too many young adults that took over the pool and hot tube. Daily there was beer pong and one day they were all twerking around the pool. I am not prude but this is not what I signed up for. Food in the buffet was not good and with it being outside you got the birds coming in an picking at the food...not a good thing. Food in the Salvador Restaurant was really good. Dreams Jade Resort and Spa: Great place to vacation

the grounds were very well manicured, beautiful pools and beach views, staff did a great job of keeping the beach free of seaweed and very well manicured food was very enjoyable and was of great quality - portion sizes small in a la carte restaurants but you could order as much of anything as you would want. the buffets had plenty of selection and you would be hard pressed to not be able to find something you like even if you are a very picky eater. staff very friendly and courteous and yo [... read more]u were never pressured to tip although based on the excellent service it was appropriate to do so often the rooms were kept very clean and luxurious with refreshments replaced daily and more often if need be

Paradisus Playa Del Carmen Roulette: Good resort with flaws

Loved flying Air Transat. April was excellent at her job making arrangements answering questions helping us navigate online stuff. The roulette process worked in our favour as we got into La Perla n had an additional upgrade. Rooms were immaculate as was entire complex. Hotel staff crisp In their uniforms n always helpful n pleasant. Food was very good tho oysters squid n octopus were on many restaurant menus not to our taste n sometimes difficult to select foods that we know. Bar open from 11-6 only. Another bar near by was only for the next level Of guests as my husband was told. The South street bar opened at 11 til not sure when but there was no 24 bar. Only entertainment there for adults was local bands again very loud. family side had acts n magician. Other than the professional dancers who did Olympic events on the first sat n Queen tribute band on the following Thursday there was nothing. Missed real entertainment. Lobby area had beautiful seating but no bar or soft music to sit n play cards or biard games with other guests we met. Smelled wonserful tho. Did not like the ambient lighting thru out the complex. Too dark even at meals. I want to see what there is around me n what I’m eating. The lighting around the complex was very poor also. As we had to walk around at nite I could not see the facial details of anyone we passed. Did not make me feel secure. We booked a trip to Tulum n to Playa Del Carmen with the Air Transat rep as April instructed. Tulum was fine as we discussed. But the trip to town was mishandled we waited 45 min for a taxi that never showed. The bellman said he would take care of it n he didn’t. We just happened to see guest services on our own n after 20 min with the Air Transat rep it was determined that tho we had negotiated 11:15 departure n return at 2 he had put down leaving at 2:15 tho our receipt said 11.15. Then he wanted us to leave at 2:15 as he had written down despite us saying we wanted to leave then. After much discussion he didn’t change it n refunded us the $10 cost. The hotel got us the cab for more money. The town was full of harassing sellers n we get it as this is their living but we started to get sellers who kept telling us that he was our server or waiter at the Paradisus which they weren’t other than 2. After the third time we realized they were reading our wrist bands. Made us feel unsafe cuz they were relentless. We left very early. Cab driver in a little put together Fiat that was awful n went thru very scary areas with little regard for stop signs. Later that nite we complained about this to the front desk asking if we could remove our bands for a trip to town. We were told there would be no charge for another one but we should have worn a cover over the bands. In 35 degree weather ?! Felt very vulnerable but they were more concerned about replacing the wrist bands n not least not interested in our security. Did not like the additional tax charge of $1 per person per nite. Insignificant amount but unaware of it. After that awful experience we did utilize the spa n its facilities with the amazing massage n facial for me. Perfect thing for the day. April told us this resort was better than anything Cuba could offer rite now n we believed her. Unfortunately the other couple we were supposed to go with did not agree n found an amazing resort the last one on the Santa Maria Island with 24 hr lobby bar as well as 4 other bars n 5 pools. Clean beach. Paradisus has no private beach n it had plants along the edge plus algae at waters edge. Couldn’t go in ocean mostly cuz very large dip down at shore n was cordoned off. Their experience in Cuba was far more enjoyable for half the cost. Our first trip to Mexico was not what I expected cuz I expected more. I may try Mexico again in the future but elsewhere n not at the Paradisus. Was not the impressive resort April made it out to be

Riu Caribe Cancun: Do not recommend

We actually paid more money to leave early - the resort was clean but the service was poor, we were stuck in a basement room, food was awful - I was sick twice and curled up in pain every time I ate here.

Iberostar Selection Cancun: Beautiful resort offering great service

The Iberostar Cancun is a beautiful hotel. Great pool and loads of palapas on the beach to provide shade for those who want it. As a golfer, I love that the hotel has a challenging course on site. The service was second to none. I am a repeat customer. My husband and I have stayed there several times and I have to say that the food quality is not what it once was. It's very quiet at night with the only entertainment being the main show, so if you love to party, this hotel is not for yo [... read more]u. Even so, I would return to this property again for the golf, the pool area and the staff who made our stay another one to remember.

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Lindo Doesn't Disappoint

Fourth trip to IB Playa Paraiso, first three were to Beach, this trip we upgraded to Lindo - worth it? Yes Food is better at Buffet, Concierges in each building make booking ala cartes a snap. We booked 4 a la cartes but actually cancelled 2 of them. The buffet selection and quality was that good. The pool at the Beach is main attraction for us, and by staying at Lindo we have access to Beach property We'll go back for sure if the price is right.

Barcelo Puerto Vallarta: Great Resort

Everything was perfect except the nightly shows. They would have been great if not of the over sexualized costumes of the women. I chalked it up to Mexico being behind the times. I especially enjoyed the rooms, clean and comfortable. Snack Bar was great. Staff was kind and helpful.

Royal Hideaway Playacar: Pretty good resort

If you are looking for a relaxing vacation, this is the perfect place , with the exception that the management should look into the doors of the rooms slamming shut and making a loud noise , very difficult trying to sleep with guests room doors making such loud noises . The service was very good and they really appreciated the service. The age group is majority 50 and over , so it worked out ok for me. Barcelo Maya Caribe: The best beach!

My boyfriend and I had an amazing time at this hotel. The beach is large and to die for, chairs and shade always available. Food was delicious and a wide selection. Facilities were immaculate but rooms could use an update. Overall a fantastic experience.

Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya: Secrets Akumal Paradise!

This is our second visit to Secrets Akumal, as we went for a week in November 2018, and then a 10 day trip in March 2019. Both booked with Jenn Black at Trip Central. This adults only all-inclusive resort has everything we want in a vacation destination, situated in a ‘jungle’ of palm trees and other foliage. There are wide walkways in amongst all of this fauna which connect all of the buildings to the eating areas, the pools, the beach, and various other places. Any of the staff we interacted with appeared genuinely happy to be doing what they were doing, and our housekeeper, Sebastian, was so friendly and full of smiles. Our room was so bright and airy, and immaculately cleaned every day, with the fridge restocked. We enjoyed a few days of room service for breakfast, which we took on the balcony, as the birds chirped and the breeze was blowing through the palm trees. We loved when they would set up for an outdoor buffet, of which were the Mexican and Italian buffets. They set everything up to the nines with fresh linens and decor. Three pools to choose from and a large beach area. The beach can get noisy as many tourists from other areas come to swim and snorkel off of the beach to see the turtles. Many tour groups as well. The resort staff have a good process in place to keep non-Secrets visitors out of the Secrets beach area and loungers. Fantastic resort, and worth the hour and a half drive from the airport. Will definitely be returning.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Nice Resort - VERY large

The grounds were well kept. Food was excellent. The resort is nice but very large with lots of vegetation with a lot of wild animals. The resort is very spread out requiring a lot of walking. There are regular shuttles if you are not able to walk. Service was good. Would not recommend if you are looking for a beautiful beach. If you enjoy pools then this resort would suit you well. The black and white bar was excellent.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Decent, but not good for what it's meant to be

The grounds are amazing and there are so many animals around. A lot of activities for kids and a nice splash park. The multiple cenotes were the highlight. That said, everything else was less than impressive. The food is just ok (and mostly all lukewarm) and the service is far from good for a 4+ star resort. There always seemed to be a long line at the check in counter. The food at the a la carte restaurants was not much better than the buffet and I was outright refused service at the Brazilian  [... read more]restaurant by a terrible hostess. The hotel concierge tried to make up for it but at the end it was too late. Everyone seems to give conflicting information or non at all unless you press and ask more questions. Everyone seems to want to give the basic service but hardly anyone goes above and beyond. Our room was outdated, musty and no water pressure.

Las Brisas Huatulco: A little bit of Canada in Mexico

Las Brisas is a smallish all-inclusive hotel where many Canadians seem to vacation. A great home away from home! This gem of a resort has a good variety of restaurants. Rooms are spacious and clean. A variety of beaches and water sports are available You can also snorkel at the resort when the tide is high as the reef is quite shallow. Staff are friendly too:)

Golden Parnassus Resort & Spa: Good Experience

Had some difficulty with getting our room correct to start. The resort was okay, little out dated. Pier 12 and Shangri LA had good food, the steakhouse and the others were poor. The resort is good for very old couples, not great for middle aged single men. Great spot on the strip and weather was amazing in March.

Temptation Resort & Spa: Had a great time at the Hotel

Everything was always spotless and clean.and the staff are very impressive. The party type of atmosphere is really tough to beat anywhere. Our favorite staff members were: Manuel at water sports, Saby on the beach, Dakota the playmaker, JJ the playmaker, and of course Patric the manager

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Wonderful resort and amazing beach

We stayed at the Lindo last week. Room decor was a bit dated but very clean. We didnt spend much time in room anyways. Beds are very comfortable. Staff are all very helpful and extremely friendly. The entertainment group was fun and encouraged participation from our teenagers. We had the best stretch of the beach by far. Most other resorts have coral in front and are not suitable for swimming. They do a very good job at clearing the washed up seaweed each day to keep the beachfront clea [... read more]n. The water is clear and no coral for a long stretch so the swimming is great. Food was great with lots of variety. I would recommend this place for families with small children or teens.

Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya: Fantastic resort

This hotel is wonderful. There is a wide variety of restaurants which allowed us to try a different restaurant every day of our stay. The food was always delicious and they clearly care a great deal about making sure everything is both tasty and well-presented. They don't have a lot of vegetarian options, but they're clearly working on it and have more than other places we've been. The pools are great too - they have a couple of pools with more noise and activities, but they also have a beauti [... read more]ful one that's the designated quiet pool for peaceful lounging. The poolside drink service is top notch. They don't provide straws due to the local sea turtle population, so we brought our own reusable metal ones which worked great. Speaking of sea turtles, we saw four of them snorkeling off the beach, so they're definitely around. The location allows for day trips to Mayan sites, including Tulum and Chichen Itza, which are worth visiting. Overall, we had an incredible time.

Secrets The Vine Cancun: Beautiful but needs more...

This hotel was beautiful, well kept and the beach is outstanding. I really don’t have anything bad to say as a vacation is what you make of it but it would have been nice to have some dancing and a little more to offer in the evenings. By 10 pm the place was dead and there was really nothing to do. But all in all it was a fabulous resort and I would recommend it!

Golden Parnassus Resort & Spa: Decent resort without many perks

It was a good clean resort that was missing bottled water in the room, a fridge or WiFi anywhere on the resort. Mediocre staff attitude. Beach, pool and restaurants were excellent. For the money definitely worth it, just don't expect too much.
