Catalonia Royal Tulum: Go for the beach, stay for the good time!

This hotel surpassed our expectations. The grounds are beautiful, the beach is amazing and the food is phenomenal. Great staff as they're so friendly and accommodating. We would definately go back!

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Best Resort Ever!

Resort was super clean and all the staff were extremely friendly and go out of their way to help you. Very Nice Beach & Lazy River was great! recommended to anyone - activities for every type of person from the vacation athlete to the lazy vacationer. Great views and lush greens throughout the resort. Would give this 6 stars if i could.

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Iberostar Paraiso Lindo

Honestly, this hotel exceeded our expectations in every regard: I have travelled extensively throughout the Caribbean and this was by far my favourite hotel. Check in was seamless and quick. The grounds were impeccably maintained The beach was extremely well maintained with no problem whatsoever getting a lounge at any time of the day...this is sometimes a problem in other resorts if you don't stake out your spot by 6:00 am. Food was very good with access to the a la carte restaurants no p [... read more]roblem...our favourite was the French restaurant however the Brazillian was also very good at the adjacent hotel. The entertainment at night was amazing and the first night we arrived there was a cirque de soleil type of show with very high calibre entertainment each night in the enormous entertainment pavillion. The rooms were modern well maintained, spotless with everything you could need including a hair dryer and supply of shampoo/soap etc., ...the shower was really cool! Honesty the staff were amazing, respectful yet friendly. I have travelled other locations where 2 women travelling together (mother and daughter) are not always treated respectfully by some of the staff. The best part was each "building" had their own concierge located in the lobby and you would speak to them to arrange trips, general questions and even check out there instead of having to line up in the lobby. Raul and Jonathan were our concierges and they were so happy and friendly to us always asking if we needed anything or if they could do anything for us. The amenities of the hotel: where do I start? Wave pool, lots of seating area around the pool, beautiful atmosphere, peacocks wandering freely around the property, coatis wandering freely all around . A really cool part was the "shopping mall" just outside the hotel where you could go to the "taco" restaurant or the "pastrie and coffee" restaurant and dine free because it was part of the all inclusive. This was my 23 year old daughters first experience with a vacation like this and when I asked her if the resort was what she expected, she said it was so much more!! Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: Beautiful resort as always!

This is our 5th time staying at the Iberostar resorts and the 2nd time at the Del Mar. Our first time was 2003 and now back in 2016 the resort is even better! The beach is gorgeous, clean with the white sandy beach. The waitress served us on the beach and was always available and speedy. The service was very good. The swim up bar was really fun. Suggest you try a Daiquiri with rum floater (careful!) and tequilla shot with sangrita chaser. Everyone is always smiling. Olivia who works in the lobb [... read more]y bar was exceptional. She was so friendly and was always one step ahead of our drink order and popcorn lol. The food was good and plentiful but we wished they had more of a selection. Dreams Sapphire Resort and Spa: Excellent 5 Stars!

Wow, is all I can say about this resort! The food is amazing, they have a lot of variety of a la carte restaurants. Our favourites were the Cibu (Mediterranean) and the Blue Water Grill (outdoor restaurant and overlooking the beach). The staff are exceptional! They go above and beyond! The pool is huge and clean. The beach is fantastic other than some seaweed but they have staff cleaning it all day everyday! The rooms were very nice, cleaned well everyday and well stocked with pop, beer and lots [... read more] of water! What makes this resort better than most resorts I have been too are the food and the staff! I would definitely return to this resort!

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Loved it

Every aspect of this resort in magnificent food, service, rooms, grounds, pools, beaches, and and entertainment. The only downfall which to us seemed very minor was that is not a "full adults only". The hideaway truly was however the resort was not, there is a family section in the complete other side of the large resort complex which you did share the main entertainment and restaurants with. I would recommend this resort to family other and friends

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Loved it!!!!

Very nice resort. Loved the fact that there are so many different types of pools for kids. There are other Iberostar resorts and shopping mall at walking distance. The Star Kids program for kids is a relief for parents with young children. Ambiance is really good and food is okay. The staff is very helpful and they really care. Just want to share an experience we had My 8 year old girl collected all small memories of her trip in her little purse which she forgot at a restaurant the night bef [... read more]ore we were supposed to check out. We didnt remember it was missing until we had 15 mins left to leave for airport and she was in all tears. The staff tried their best to get her purse and Ryan (who sits at front desk) came running behind our bus (our bus just was taking turn) with the purse. It was really nice to see such dedication and we truly appreciate it. We left our vacation with all smiles and were glad that we selected this hotel. Grand Palladium Kantenah: Beautiful Resort

The Grand Palladium Kantenah is a beautiful resort that provides great value for the money. It definitely provides a high-end vacation experience. The rooms and lobbies are beautifully appointed and spotless. The staff are super friendly and do everything possible to make your stay a great one. The beach is like paradise and the pools very well cared for. There is a variety of activities to participate in if your care to. There is also a large variety of restaurants to choose from. This resort is 1.5 hours from the airport but we felt it was worth the extra driving. We will definitely go back one day.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Best Ever!

Amazing resort! It was clean and modern. The staff were unbelievably friendly and the food and entertainment was fantastic. The restaurant selection was amazing. The beach was lovey and clean too!

Awesome resort. No complaints. People work very hard and are very friendly..and we have travelled to many resorts. people that complain about this place need to get out once in awhile. We have stayed at the Royalton and other top notched hotels and this one ranks up there with them.

Riu Yucatan: Perfect for us! Amazing food and beach

We loved this resort. We felt like valued guests at all times..loved all the workers..it was the great staff that makes this resort stand out to us. I also appreciated the decent size drink cup they offered for drinks and straws if needed so we did not require the big bubba mug. I felt safe with the kids at all times. A few too many smokers exhaling smoke onto me and beware some rooms smelled of smoke..but there are different rules in Mexico I guess..smoking every where here I'm not used to this from Canada. We are non smokers and don't like the smell. The rooms/beds are small but sufficient . the mini fridge in room got restocked every other day with lots of water pop and beer. We did not want for absolutely anything. Every thing great. We loved Anthony and Jerry teaching dance lessons at the activity pool. These guys are so fun!! They were fantastic as was Isreal the bartender, Vidal, and our room cleaner. The shuttle was an easy 45 min from the airport. Check in and out went smoothly. The shows were alright. The pool could have been cleaner..a lot of missing tiles on walls of pool.. found them at bottom..debris in pool..stepping on stuff (small rocks and debris) in pool. Only saw it cleaned rarely. (1x all week) However, I was sad when it was time to go because it was the best time and we can't wait to return! Our kids also said they liked this resort the best of the many resorts we have been to. Ages 6 and 9. There are a few mosquitos so bring repellant but not too bad. There is several pool areas here its a very spread out large resort..a lot of walking and no elevators..just 9 3 storey walk ups. There are no ocean view rooms no room service no waiter service and Wiifii has a fee of $10 a day. We loved that you stay at 1 Riu but can explore 3 other nearby Riu hotels. This gave more variety. Lots of Wildlife here too!

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Overall good but.... DO NOT ARRANGE FOR A ROOM UPGRADE UNLESS THE ROOM IS AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY

DO NOT ARRANGE FOR A ROOM UPGRADE UNLESS THE ROOM IS AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY We arrived for our 5 day vacation and were provided with a coupon book upon check in at the Kantenah lobby. We asked about the upgrade that was offered in the coupon book and Jorge at the desk told us we could get an upgraded room in about an hour and a half. We left our bags with the bell man and went to explore the hotel. Came back in 2 hours and we were told it would be another hour. We returned to the desk in a [... read more]n hour and were told to go to our original room for the first night, that they were working on the new room and we would get it the next day. We had to check out of the first room we were in by 11 the next day. We asked if we could get right into our upgraded room but were told by Gabriel it wouldn't be ready until 3 pm. We decided to go for it, checked out of the room, put our bags into storage and went on our merry way until the 3 pm check in time. Not really a good arrangement because we were paying for a room for that whole day but were essentially "roomless". At 3 pm we arranged for our new upgraded room after paying the $300 usd upgrade fee. Cecelio, the bell man, took us to our new room, "room 2". When we turned on the ventilation system we were overtaken by raw sewage smell. We called Cecelio back to the room and he agreed that we could absolutely not stay in that room. He went back to the desk, arranged for the new room, came back with the keys and took us there. When we opened the door we discovered that the room was already occupied. Unreal...we were very frustrated by now. Cecelio called the front desk, made arrangements and took us to another room nearby. Cecelio was apologetic, professional and represented your hotel in a very good way. Room 3...we arrived at the room the front desk told Cecelio to take us to and found it was already occupied! Unreal...and very frustrating! Cecelio immediately called the front desk, again, to determine where to take us. Finally! Room 4 was lovely, clean and in a wonderful location. It took us a full 27 hours to get there and we were "roomless for at least 6 hours. Towels...there were no towels available the morning of day 3. We walked a long way to 3 different huts and were very disappointed we had turned in our towels for our towel cards the night before. Overall the hotel was really great, the food was great and almost all of the hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. The entertainment wasn't bad. We were, however, disappointed with a very disorganized room upgrade ordeal that cost us very valuable time and more money. If we had known how big a hassle it would be we would have simply stayed in our original room. The hotel should have made this a better experience for us.

Ocean Maya Royale: Wonderful week

My partner and I travelled to the Ocean Maya Royale last week for a 7 day vacation. The staff were all very pleasant, especially Maria Jose on the front desk. At check in, we found that we had a ground floor room, and requested a change to 2nd level room. Maria indicated that none were available at that time (Sunday afternoon), but that she would ensure that we were moved to our desired location the next morning, and we were. So thank you Maria Jose! The grounds were kept neat and clean,  [... read more]and our room was cleaned each morning. The animals roam around the resort, but don't bother you unless you make the mistake of feeding them. Don't do it! There are signs saying not to feed the animals and the staff will remind you, but we saw some people feeding them, and taking photos. The last thing you would want is for the animals to become a nuisance, and a liability for the resort. So, please just leave them alone and they will leave you alone. :) The food was good, not outstanding, but good. We did not pay for the upgrade to privilege status, so I can't say if the food is better in the privilege area. There are separate items on the menu for those who have taken the upgrade as well as certain top level brands of alcohol, so if food and specific alcohol items are important to you, then you may want to consider spending the extra dollars. We liked that the resort was small and fairly compact. The weather was hot, hot, hot - and we had a wonderful time.

Grand Sunset Princess: Awesome place!

It was my first time in Mexico. I travelled with hubby and 2 year old daughter and was pleasantly surprised. The grounds were beautiful, rooms were nice and staff was great. The food was awesome although we didn't get to try all the restaurants. There wasn't as much walking as I thought there would be considering the size of the resort. The animation staff was awesome. Grand Sunset Princess: Platinum is the way to go!

Recently stayed at the Grand Sunset Princess Resort with my husband and another couple. We stayed in the platinum room and were very happy with the service and the people. All of the staff are friendly and helpful. Pool was great, spent every morning at the ocean. Room was beautiful and enjoyed the Jacuzzi on the balcony and in our room. You could always find something to eat...the salsa and chips were so fresh and yummy. The only downside would be the size of the resort, it is huge. But [... read more] it is great to get some walking in and there is always a shuttle to take. Favourite restaurant was the steakhouse.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Amazing vacation spit

The amenities and services were outstanding. Excellent food, great service, friendly staff. The sea is coral in spots, so water shoes are helpful. Bring snorkel gear, children will be amazed at the fish in the water. The sea is calmed for erosion purposes, which does not give a clear, unobstructed view, but otherwise, it was lively. We have chosen this resort in Mexico, close to major attractions, so once you arrive, it's not far to see other major sites. I must say that it was a supreme pleasure to be at this Resort One word comes to mind Immaculate. I have never seen so many workers toiling to keep the resort in pristine condition. Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great time!!

The grounds are beautiful! There were always trams to get around the resort. Everyone was pleasant and happy to assist. Coba beach was small but nice not as rocky as Talums. Taking a tram to the beach was not a hassel at all, I was expecting it to be. Entertainment was okay of what we did see. At the Hacienda the band was great wish it could've been longer for those who do go to the night club. During the Fiesta Mexicana there was nothing for those who didn't go. But the time slot we got was WAY TOO LATE! 1030PM We went with a group of 10 and all enjoyed and said we would go back.

Riu Playacar: Perfect Resort

My friend and I just returned from a week at Riu Plyacar. It was the perfect resort - not too big and not too small. Even though there were a lot of guests, it never felt crowded and there were no waits at any of the bars. Even on the days we slept in a bit, we could always find chairs by the pool. The resort and rooms were immaculate. Although we picked this resort partly due to the fact we didn't need to make reservations at the ala carte restaurants, we ate at the buffet every night. They worked day and night running numerous daytime events ( poker, aqua fitness, Zumba, volleyball, soccer, bocce ball and horse shoes to name a few ) and then ran the evening show.
