Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Amazing place

Went to the occidental excaret and had a great experience. Most of the workers were great friendly and a lot of fun. Went with my son and friend and can not say enough about the resort . So much wild life beautiful grounds the resort was massive . Beautiful trails . Its not perfect but for us it was pretty dam close.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Winner

This is a YES, close to everything, beach, buffet, other hotels, casino, boutique. They have the cleanest grounds of all the hotels I’ve been. Beautiful rain forest! The rooms a bit outdated, would need new bathtubs! But will book here again ♥️

El Cid Granada: great location...but

The El Cid Granada, Moro and Castilla are in a great location for getting out and about to explore the area and take in some amazing dining experiences. The buffet and the lobby bar at the Castilla are filthy, to say the least. The tables and placemats are never cleaned after each guest. The dining staff simply take a cloth napkin to "dust off" the tables onto the floor and place new cutlery and napkins onto the filthy placemats. I should also mention that the evening entertainment is located in the same room as the buffet. You can not have a conversation over diner during the show, extremely loud! Service around the Castilla pool and beach were exceptional. The loungers on the beach are very worn and saggy. The ones around the pool are fine. There is NO saving of chairs/loungers, LOVE this policy and it's enforced. The lobby bar service could use some improvement. It wasn't horrible, but could definitely improve. This area was also filthy. The Granada was under renovations when we arrived so we were moved into the Castilla. The rooms were average. Balconies have no table, but we simply moved the table from in the room to the balcony. There is a coffee maker, but no mini fridge. For those that have purchased an all inclusive don't worry about the signs that state that the coffee and bottled water have a cost. When we checked out we had not additional costs for the coffee or the bottle water we consumed. The coffee isn't the greatest, so I'd recommend that you bring some from home. Receiving face clothes and hand towels were a hit or miss, but we made due with what we were given. For those that have never been to Mazatlan you will either love the Marachi bands that stroll up and down the beach or hate them.

TRS Yucatan: Amazing resort!

One week stay here was not enough! Top notch resort. Easy and pleasant check-in, rooms are spacious and extremely clean. Even the bathrooms at the beach or in the resort are spa-like and very clean. Our room was cleaned daily, and always very well done. Food is absolutely delicious. We ate at five different restaurants and loved each one. Our butlers, Eric and Lisandra, were so helpful and pleasant. They took care of the restaurant reservations, and were always quick to respond to any questio [... read more]ns we had. The beach is the tiny negative for me. It’s very narrow and parts are rocky. The TRS beach is a bit of a walk, but the shuttles are a great way to get there. Once there, that section of beach is beautiful (but small) and great food and drinks. The staff is polite and helpful throughout the resort. I can’t recommend it enough. We will be returning for sure!

Barcelo Maya Palace: Beautiful spot

The grounds are gorgeous. The staff was, for the most part, awesome. We had one server at the breakfast buffet that sighed when I asked for a mochaccino. Food, again, for the most part, was awesome. We were disappointed that when we were booking restaurants, the only time available was 8pm but when we walked by at 6:00 the tables were almost empty. The dessert was no better. The brownie was dry and if it weren't for the ice cream would have been totally inedible. The pools are not heated so when the temps were on the cool side, you could not get in the pool as it was freezing. So overall, it was decent. It was our second time going to the barcelo but it will probably be a while before we go back.

Riu Latino: Amazing Resort!

Everything about this resort was great! Service was excellent, we were always greeted with a smile from everyone on staff & our room was cleaned everyday in a timely manner. Food was also very good and fresh in all restaurants including the pool café. Bartenders were quick and efficient! Our only issue (minor) was the lighting of the restaurants and lobby bar at night...way too bright! Highly recommend staying here and we would definitely return!

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Great Adult All-Inclusive!

The Yucatan Princess made for a fun relaxing trip. The resort is lovely and clean and I can not say enough about the friendly staff- it truly felt like home there. The restaurant and food selection was great. We took our adult sons and wives and were hoping there was enough for them to do, being younger and more adventurous! From the shows to paddle boarding, wildlife, foam party and great beach - we all had a blast! Dreams Tulum Resort and Spa: A little disappointing!

Regarding the Dreams Tulum Resort and Spa, there were good features and some not so good features. This resort is older and unfortunately it needs quite a bit of maintenance to upgrade it. Tiles are broken throughout the resort. Pools are stained yellow. Rooms are old designs. Water pressure in bathrooms very low. The good points are the restaurants. Buffet was good although not large enough to accommodate everyone for lunch when it rains. Choice of food was great! Only went to one of t [... read more]he à la carte restaurants which was very good. And I heard very good comments from other guests regarding some of the others. Staff mostly were great! Drinks very good depending on the bar. Pools were cold due to weather being on the colder side this year. My husband and I chose to upgrade our room due to the lack of niceness or newness to our room which was very pricey! Because of upgrade, we were Preferred guests which really didn’t give much. We were able to use a preferred beach section which didn’t even have a nice section of beach. Beach was very rocky! Also we were able to go to one of the à la carte restaurants for a catered breakfast. All in all, this resort was not 4 star or higher and pricey.

Grand Oasis Riviera: Very dissatisfied

The staff were not very friendly. I would usually get wine with dinner, but wouldn't relieve it until after dinner Supposed to be all inclusive, but the housekeeping wanted to charge me to fill up my mini bar. The beach was very tiny, and we had a Karen on the beach. She yelled at people that she owned her room on the beach and no one was allowed near her. She yelled at me for smoking and was an annoying nag. The bars didn't open until 11 am and closed at 7. No food available at night time a [... read more]fter dinner, only muffins or cookies. The lifeguard was more interested in his phone then keeping an eye on guests, he also liked to pick his nose while sitting there. Lifeguard also blew his nose and spit in the shower outside that you use to wash off sand. A waitress blew her nose in a napkin, and then polished a cup with the used napkin. Also didn't even wash her hands. Very disgusted with this place. I feel like I lost my money and I really didn't want to stay the seven days I couldn't wait to get home. Dont waste your money here.

Barcelo Puerto Vallarta: Very Nice Resort

This Resort is about 30 minutes from PV on quiet bay. Resort beautiful. Pools lovely. Especially the adult pool. Beach not so good. Only other issue was standing in libe every morning to book reservations for restaurants. Even if first in line could only get 8 pm supper. Premium were able to book ahead. Food was good as well as the service. It would be nice if they had early evening entertainment.

Catalonia Riviera Maya: Very nice resort

Everything about this resort was great. The room was perfect and the grounds are beautiful. Staff was pleasant and efficient. The food wasn’t the best. I would go back again. The fact that this was all part of a gated community made it feel very safe

Ocean Allure Costa Mujeres: Perfect getaway

This new resort has had its growing pains but all considering my 10 day holiday was great. I would skip the privilege category, not worth the money. The food was excellent at the buffet. Restaurants needed more personal.

Krystal Grand Puerto Vallarta: Disappointing Resort

Unfortunately this is not a 4 or 4+ stars resort. First there is a new hotel being built right beside the hotel - so it was loud during the day when construction was being done. Nothing was mentioned about this prior to booking. Our view was of construction. As well it appears the hotel is under renovation. Again no mention of this before travel. The lobby was filled with old couches and walled off where there is renovations going on. On Thursday, construction workers were tearing down walls u [... read more]p until at least 10 pm near the lobby bar - it was so loud. The rest of the week also saw construction being done in the lobby area which was loud and smelly. The food was okay but the buffet was limited. As a vegetarian I was hard pressed to find something to eat for a main. The staff around the pool and in the restaurants were great so no complaints there. The room was outdated but clean. There were challenges getting chairs by the pool and you had to be there by before 8 am to get a chair. Overall disappointing and would not recommend this resort.

Friendly Fun Vallarta: Great value at this resort close to Airport and shopping

The Friendly Fun Vallarta is a smaller resort with not too much walking required to get from your room to the buffet or pool - perfect for me with a bad knee. I had the very best room that I have ever had at any Caribbean/Mexican resort. It was very clean, had daily maid service, was spacious and had a direct view of the ocean. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel is on a beautiful main street just 10 minutes from the airport and close to a very large indoor mall with a large grocery store. The lobby had a nice coffee shop and bar and they played the hockey games for us Canadians. It was filled with a cool breeze all day. Weather was perfect. If I had two complaints, I would ask for more lactose free food options and more shade on the beach. The beach loungers were crowded so close together that you couldn't put a leg in between them. Great pool side and beach service. All in all we had a great time and for the money, it was extremely good value. One more thing - I felt completely safe on the resort and walking down the main street.

Occidental Cozumel: Great holiday at Occidental Cozumel

My wife and I were very impressed with the environment at Occidental Cozumel. It felt so peacefull and safe there. We were living in a green space manicured every day by staff. The food was plenty and delicious. The rooms are large clean and completely equipped to serve the visitors. We did have a: balcony but many units had one.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Great resort!

Definitely 5 star resort! Beautiful grounds, fantastic service, great staff, amazing food and entertainment. Only one consideration: the hotel has no policy regarding lounge appropriation at the pool. Consequently, some couples put their belonging on 4 chairs, 2 in the shade and 2 in the sun all day thus creating a lack of chairs if you don't go out by 7:30 in the morning and do likewise. This situation should be monitored and a policy devised to allow all to be accommodated.

Friendly Fun Vallarta: We love this resort

This is our fifth time at this resort. Each time there is something new. Its an older resort but it is kept up and very clean. Because the resort is on the smaller side, you get to know the Friendly staff. The food is good and the location right on the beach is perfect.

Marival Emotions Resort and Suites Riviera Nayarit: Great resort for multi-generation family vacation

We enjoyed our week here. Grandkids loved the pools, playground, mini-putt course and air hockey at the teen club. Beach is magnificent for walking. Usually found available lounges under the palapas, and staff would set up umbrellas no problem. Food was varied and excellent. Disappointed that there was no availability at the Italian or Asian restaurants anytime that week, but the buffet had lots to offer and we also got into La Pergola for dinner. The only real wrinkle of the stay was upon arrival, when we checked in at the front desk and were subsequently directed into an ambush by a guy pushing us to buy a vacation unit. This was mid-afternoon and we had been up since 3a.m., so not in the mood for that. But, apparently, we weren’t getting our resort wristbands until we heard him out. Surely the hotel can save the pitch for guests who actually express an interest.
