Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Disappointed

Once we finally got into our room we asked 4 times for extra bedding. The day I took it of a housekeeping cart. The resort shows no compassion with anybody with a non-visible disability! My six year-old autistic, grandson lost his bracelet We searched for it with no success. Explained the situation and we’re still required to pay $150 US replacement.

El Dorado Royale: Great Resort

The grounds and rooms are beautiful. Everything is clean and well kept. The service right from the beginning to end. Axel at the front desk was so helpful and accommodating our needs. The breakfast buffet was wonderful and Victor was an excellent server. Could not have anyone better! The pools are wonderful with all the swim up bars. There are quieter pools and some with more action and fun. The food was really good. The staff helped us celebrate two special occasions by doing special things for [... read more] us. On Canada we received special chocolates. The only downfall was you could not use the ocean.

Barcelo Maya Palace: Our favourite place

We keep coming back to Barcelo Palace. Tried many other resourts as well....but this is the one we like! Amazing staff, food, restaurants and turtles ? The hotel does a great job with cleaning seaweed too !

Barcelo Maya Palace: Fantastic family resort

Beautiful resort with immaculate grounds and beautiful beach. Staff never stopped working to maintain the grounds. Bar and wait staff were fast and efficient. The food was delicious, and had choices for even the pickiest eaters. The kids buffet was a hit for our kids! The kids club was welcoming and had awesome activities every hour. Room was spacious, clean and quiet! Can’t wait to go back!

Barcelo Maya Palace: Great Resort

What a great place, beautifully maintained.very quick to fix any issues. Food was excellent, from the buffet to the alacarte restaurants, not a complaint. And as someone with a severely food allergy that is saying a lot. Lots to do, and no pressure if you wanted to just relax.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Very good bang for buck

I think overall it's quite good but falls short of real "5 star luxury". I've only been to one other resort which was actually this sister property next door. This definitely felt like a solid step up from that - especially the buffet. Rooms were quite good, we got the private hot tub room but it was more like a regular tub with a few jets. Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Best trip ever

I absolutely loved the time i had at the Tulum resort. From the front counter staff that were very attentive and prompt in any of our requests, the wait staff that continously kept us hydrated and entertained, to the entertainment team that kept us smiling. Even the cleaners were pleasant. Everyone made us feel like we were home away from home. I will never forget our new friends and I can't wait to come back.

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY – COMPLETE DISAPPOINTMENT AT A “5-STAR” RESORT

I recently stayed at Barceló Maya Beach Resort for a 3-day trip, and it was an absolute disaster from the moment we checked in. I booked this resort based on the glowing 4.7-star reviews and the fact that it’s listed as a 5-star hotel on Google. That rating is completely misleading – I now believe many of those reviews must be fake. This trip was meant to be a special celebration for my friend’s birthday. Instead, it turned into a frustrating, poorly managed experience. Here’s why: • Terrib [... read more]le Transportation: No buggies available anywhere. The only shuttle bus between lobbies runs every 25 minutes, making it extremely inconvenient just to move around the resort. • Faulty Air Conditioning: Our room was hot and uncomfortable. Even after multiple complaints, nothing was done. • Staff Don’t Act on Issues: While the staff were polite, they consistently failed to take action. It felt like we were just being pacified and ignored. • The Food is a Joke: For a resort in Mexico, there was no authentic Mexican food. No tacos. No spice. No flavor. Just bland, low-quality buffet food. The “all-inclusive” option is misleading — it covers only buffet and snack bars. Most à la carte restaurants are paid, and even the paid ones were awful. • Birthday Ruined: I had arranged a birthday cake and wine through guest services, and they assured us the cake would be delivered to our room at 7 PM. We waited. No one came. At 8 PM we called to check, and they casually said the request wasn’t valid because it wasn’t made 24 hours in advance — even though they confirmed it themselves earlier! Totally unacceptable. • Beach Was Dirty: The beach was a huge letdown. It looked beautiful in the photos, but in reality, it was not clean. There were strange red deposits all along the shore – not sure what it was, but it made the water look uninviting and the experience unpleasant. • Pool Bar Chaos: The pool bar had only two staff members serving a huge crowd. We had to wait over 15 minutes just to get a drink. On a hot vacation day, that’s the last thing anyone wants. • The Only Good Thing – Spa: The spa was the only part of this resort that met expectations. Clean, professional, relaxing. Everything else was below 2-star quality. This place does not deserve a 4.7-star rating. If you’re considering it for a special occasion, please look elsewhere. I wouldn’t go back here even for free.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great resort!

The resort was really nice. Very clean and well maintained. The food was good and the staff were very friendly. We went at the end of June though and the beach wasn’t very nice. It might just have been the season.

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: The perfect Resort that healed me❤️

This resort was the absolute perfect haven for the rest, reset and healing that we were looking for. The staff (Omero, Luis, Juan Carlos, Amparo, Alex the Turtle King, Marrisa, Isreal, Gabriel, Adrianna) went above and beyond taking care of our every need, at any given moment of the day. We had a comfortable week at this quiet, clean resort. Everything worked out well: good management, friendly and enthusiastic staff, relaxing meditation sessions . However, we avoid coming here this season because of sargassum: dirty beaches, plus environment fee, plus visitax.

Sandos Playacar Beach Resort: Amazing Family Resort

The hotel exceeded our expectation. I was very scared and not knowing what to expect when booking but I am glad I followed my guts. when we got to the Resort it's was screaming cleanliness, good vibe, the front desk guy was amazing. The atmosphere was very comforting especially when the temperature was over bearing (oven). The food was exceptional, there was food for everyone even the picky eater like myself and the kids lol. The beach and swimming pool was neva crowded and there was games and drinks available. Public washrooms were in very good condition and was always smelling nice. Basically myself and my family did have a blast. The boys still talk about the fun they had. The only negative thing I would say about the Resort was the wait time on getting a mini cart to drive you to the main buffet or the beach and and it does not run 24hrs. With little ones, we had to take the mini cart ( my kids call it Gertrude the train) because its takes about 20mins to walk to the main buffet and another 10mins to the beach, and it was a rush in when it comes due to other families waiting on the mini cart. Overall our stay was fantastic and I would visit again.

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: An Upscale Laid-Back Spot

From rooms to food and service, this resort does everything right. My room was very clean and had a recently renovated feel to it. Resort workers and waiters are friendly and fast. There is a small coral reef next to the resort so be sure to pack a snorkel! Live music almost every night made for great nights at the lobby bar after spending the day on the beach. Platinum Yucatan Princess: Beautiful Resort

My girlfriend and I spent a week here at the Platinum Yucatan Princess and had the most incredible time. The resort was amazing: beautiful, fun, and friendly. Our junior deluxe room was awesome. It was spacious, clean, and with a gorgeous view. We enjoyed the buffet (especially during breakfast) and made it to the Bruschetta and Rodeo Grill twice each. Loved both restaurants. We had access to the family resort and all their pools, restaurants, bars, etc, which was a quick 2 minute walk from our resort, and found their beaches much more swimmable (due to seaweed at ours). We had no issues walking down to the other beaches for swimming and still enjoyed sitting by the water at ours, especially in the later evenings. One of the highlights would certainly be the amazing and friendly service we experienced. Christopher checked us in and checked us out, he was so kind, very friendly, and made sure we were taken care of. David did a phenomenal job taking our photos and was a pleasure to talk to. Our massage was also great, would definitely recommend visiting the spa! The pools were another highlight, the poolside service was great and the pools themselves were gorgeous. There were so many private pools to relax in and the party pool was a blast. Overall an incredible trip, an amazing resort, no negative surprises from what we had expected and researched, but far exceeded our expectations.

Absolutely, that’s the Place to be at and fully enjoy the surroundings within resort facilities. Food was delicious, pools are clean and spacious, and staff was helpful and courteous! Beach was good only a lot if rocks in the water not sandy at all. Overall, Great vacation at great place for reasonable price.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Great stay

This hotel needs to be refurbished but despite that we had a fabulous time Our room was spotless with 3 large bottles if water per day We were in building 7 garden view with its own pool for this area As usual not enough chairs and it was off season Staff were fantastic restaurants were good and festival buffet had a great variety all good The only night was the Asian night which was horrible for me anyways Shopping limited and they need more trolleys as it's quite the hike to beach We p [... read more]aid a reasonable cost for this hotel but wouldn't pay much more for the week Can't say enough good things about all the staff Tip them they work hard for us

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Nice resort but slightly disappointed

The resort itself was very nice, however due to the unfortunate event with the fire prior to our arrival, it was quite disorganized. We understand the difficulties they were dealing with, but prior to our arrival we were promised full access to Akumal and Tulum resorts as compensation for the facilities that weren't available to us at Coba. However, upon arrival we were informed that they were no longer giving Coba guests full access bracelets due to the main buffet being functional.The buffet f [... read more]ood was very good, but that left us with the option of only having 1-2 A La carte restaurants, which were all completely booked up. We were also not informed of the App that we were supposed to use to book reservations and see the daily events. The room at the resort was very nice, very spacious and the king size bed was nice to have. Housekeeping was good (after we were able to discover that we needed to request through the app). The evening shows at Coba were very well done. We wish we would have known about the hacienda having events (live music, shows) earlier in our stay, but overall very enjoyable entertainment. At the resorts current state, unfortunately I would not recommend it to a friend. There is no appropriate compensation for the Coba guests to really feel you are getting what you paid for. Along with the fire renovations, they are doing extensive renos to villas in the resort, thus making it a loud and busy atmosphere (we understand it has to be done but we feel we should not have to pay full price). We still enjoyed our trip, there was just a few frustrations.

Catalonia Playa Maroma: Wonderful Staff

Just returned from a week at the Catalonia Playa Maroma. My friend and I had never been to this resort and wanted to try it since we know it's on a beautiful beach. The sargussum was bad but we still managed to get in the water. The food was really good at all the restaurants and buffet. Big shout out to the amazing staff...Adrian, Claudia, Gabriella, Daniel, and Matuselan..always ready to assist. My friend uses a cane and has difficulty walking long distances so we weren't able to walk [... read more] up to the lobby/buffet everyday so we ate at the a la carts. It was unfortunate that on the day we left there was no service available to pick us and our luggage up at our room before 7am.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Decent Stay

This property is great for young families as they have a lot of options for kids & the water rides are something the kids enjoyed to the core. The services by the staff were excellent. The bummer points were the access to the beach as too much weed accumulation created a lot of smell around the area. Secondly, the room we were allotted had a lot of mosquitoes that created allergies on our skins but the staff was kind to clean & free the room from the bugs & insects. Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Good

Overall good trip but quality has gone down since last time we were there 2 years ago. Pillows on bed were small and hard snack bar and room service food has gone down and you have to ask for premium alcohol
