Barcelo Maya Tropical: Beautiful Stay

Great from start to finish ! Room was exactly as promised, great location on the property - we did Premium Level - highly recommend - large property but, you can either choose to walk far and venture out - or stay close to your building and will still find everything you need. Allegro Cozumel: great resort

Hotel is awesome. Beautiful grounds, pools and beach outstanding, excellent food, great staff, lovely accommodations. Got premium room. Access to Santa Rosa Bar fabulous. Excellent service all around. 4th visit to Allegro Cozumel. Never disappoints

Occidental Cozumel: Pictures can be deceiving!

We vacationed here as a party of 6 end of April 2023. This hotel is located and surrounded by serene, stunning gardens and forests. Ground keepers do amazing work here. Food in buffet is for the most part well done but at times hard to figure out if it's a theme or not. our group of 6 ate at 3 a la carte. Italian, Seafood, and Mexican. All a la carte venues were beautifully decorated. House wines are Spanish and are fairly good. Housekeeping was outstanding both in rooms and public areas. Biggest downside is the beach or lack thereof. Most was washed away during last few Hurricanes. So seating can be crowded at times. Pools are nice but as we are beach people we found ocean to be murky and continually stirred up by the multitude of boats speeding to pick up divers at the pro dive shop adjacent to the hotel. Perfect local for vacationing divers. Other that this issue at the beach this hotel checks almost all boxes. We made best of it and had a great stay here, this our 2nd time.

Palma Real: Great location

Cuba has always been my favorite place to visit, but after this trip I think in done. Cuba's food was never the best but always a great selection. Not this time. Always same food day in and day out. Everything else was amazing no complaints.

Occidental Punta Cana: Very nice resort!

We went to Occidental Punta Cana in mid-April 2023 through Air Transat, it was a breeze! They arranged transportation to and from the airport and were very accommodating getting you settled into your room. The room, building and grounds were very clean. Well kept . Maid sevice very good. Staff very nice and helpful. Everyone was very friendly. Alfredo was very attentive to our needs and made us feel at home. Will definitely stay there when i take my next trip to cuba

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Great vacation. Huge resort.

The grounds at this property are very well cared for. The property spans 6 hotels with many large pools and lots of restaurants. The a la cartes are very good with interesting food at each one. The room we had was musty and our clothes always felt wet. I guess that’s to be expected in a hot humid area.

The resort was excellent and we would go again in future. One thing that spoiled the holiday was the but driver that took us back to the airport took us to terminal 4, we asked him if this was correct for the Swoop airline and he said it was, it turned out that the correct terminal was #2. We and all the people on the bus had to get a minibus taxi to take us to terminal 2 (about one kilometer. There were about 12 people in the taxi, the driver charged us 80 dollars American. Barcelo Maya Tropical: Amazing Resort!!

This was my second time at Barcelo Maya and I will be back, these resorts are amazing, clean, good food, so much to do for eveyone. I took 4 more people that had not been to Barcelo Maya, and they said it was the best place they had been to in the Mayan. No issues at all, Covid is not an issue anymore, up to you if you want to wear a mask. We stayed a week and didn't get to everything, we will be back. This was our first time flying Air Transat in many years and they were fantastic, much better [... read more] than Sunwing. We had no kids but if you do this is perfect for them, lots of activities, seperate pools, bring a floatie!

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Love Love Love this place!

I have always said i would never go to the same resort twice...well i stand corrected. I would absolutely go back here again. Absolutely beautiful, so much to do, food was great, beds were comfy, staff was so friendly. The only warning i would give is that you must like to walk (which we do) because this place has soooo much to do if you are willing to take a few steps to get there. Deb

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Great resort, would return

Great resort, very clean and well maintained rooms and common areas. The buffet food was actually really good in comparison to other all-inclusives I've been to in the past. There was a lot of great amenities on the resort such as snorkeling and sailing, which we enjoyed. Towards the end of our stay the seaweed that drifts up to shore was quite severe, but the resort worked hard at clearing it best they could throughout the day. I was sitting at the buffet table and the server came up and put a card in front of me to scan and stood over my shoulder telling me his name and what to write and it was rather uncomfortable. All of the front desk staff were lovely. Overall it was a great experience.

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Amazing Resort!

The hotel grounds and facilities were lovely. Lots of activities on offer. Would have liked to have yoga on the beach for all sections, more drinks for diabetics (everything was sweet) but beach was amazing!

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Beautiful Resort

We had a Wonderful time at Barcelo Beach. Beautiful Beach, loved swimming in the ocean. Our room was very nice, overlooking the ocean and garden. The staff was superb. Grounds were well taken care of. Dining was very good. The buffet was great. The chez gourmet restaurant was really nice inside and the food was delicious. I can't say enough about this resort being a Wonderful place to go to for a nice relaxing vacation.

Allegro Cozumel: Great holiday

Overall this hotel checked all the boxes , very clean , super friendly staff and beautiful grounds . Food is limited in selection but what they do have all tasted great . Smaller resort , easy to navigate . Rooms are on the small side so if sharing with more than 1 might not be good room selection for you .

Hotel was very clean. Grounds were well maintained. Staff were very helpful…Lots of selections on the buffet…Restaurants were very good. Beaches were beautiful. Weather was amazing Would definitely recommend to others

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Great family vacation resort

The hotel is very nice and clean. The grounds are impeccable. The beaches are beautiful with lots of palm trees for shade. The pools are clean. The buffet food is very good with lots of variety. The theatre is lots of fun with great shows. The drinks are plentiful with lots of choices. We didn't enjoy the seafood restaurant, but the Steakhouse, Japanese and Mexican restaurants were good.

Barcelo Solymar: Not too bad, could be better

Stuff were lovely and very pleasant. We had no running conditioning for one day but it was fixed the next day. We had no water for one day but no issues for the rest of the stay. Toilet would not flush for almost a day and we had a reoccurring problem the next day. Towels were very difficult to obtain. We had four beach towels for the five of us for the entire seven day stay. Mattress was comfortable. Showers had some mild in it. There was a laundry facility emergency and so we also had to conti [... read more]nue to ask for clean bath towels. We were always short on those but the cleaning lady did her best to provide them as soon as they became available. Big swimming pool turned green one day and it took it two days to be able to use again. We had other swimming pools to our disposal. Food was ok but could be better. Repetitive. Had to ask for spoons for ice cream. I did see some roaches on the floor and on the deli meet in the restaurant (on one occasion). The buffet had very few options to drink available for the kids and would often run out of alcohol for grown ups. The bars had alcohol no problem. There was one snack bar available which only had sandwiches but they were very tasty. No body got sick. Again, the stuff were always pleasant. The beach was spectacular. Swimming pools were great. Entertainment was fun but a bit too late for small kids to stay and enjoy (it would start at 9:30).

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Amazing family resort!

We went for 10 days, and we would go there again! The grounds are like parks, very nicely taken care of, the walkways between buildings of different parts are covered, airy and easy to get around between resorts. The room was little dated but bedding was a good quality, air conditioner worked great, we had a balcony with the garden view. Our safe was not working when we got there but was fixed next day. No problem with hot water in the shower. The fridge was stocked daily, plenty of bottled wate [... read more]r, soft drinks or local beer. The food in buffet was great, sometimes little salty, great variety of pastries, local foods, vegs, tried first time the cactus stews; cold cuts, cheeses, fresh fruits are amazing! Coffee machines available for self-serve. The service was sometimes little slow, but we always got what we liked. The buffets are quite noisy, understandable - the families dealing with their kids, but the servers were cleaning plates and dumping cutleries with great gusto, so the best seats for our meals were at the windows, away from central area and much quieter. The pool areas were clean, water nice and warm, the beach areas raked nightly, plenty of available towels and loungers under palm trees, nice ocean breeze... The beach grills are great alternative for buffets, food and drinks available all day. The sanitizer lotions were available everywhere. Our only concern was with a local travel company that organized transfers to/from the hotel and local trips. Not organized, chaotic, mixed our departure time for the trip, we got our money back thankfully, and almost got left at the wrong airport terminal on our way back. So next time we will have to double check all the dealings with this company or to choose different carrier. But we would definitely go back, for the right price, maybe at the different time when the sargassum season is over.

Palma Real: Meets All My Needs

Allegro Palma Real, April 12, 2023 to April 20, 2023 Since this is a Trip Advisor my best advice for anyone planning on visiting any country for the first time is, do a little research. Look into traditions, conditions, laws and be respectful. After all you are a visitor in their country. After a 3 year break due to Covid, I was able to enjoy my 25th stay (my best guess) at The Palma Real. I was more than happy with what I had found. There must be a good reason for this. “We” had several discussions on why so many returns and everyone came up with the same two answers. 1. The staff, I can’t say enough about them but I’ll try. 2. The returning guests are of the same mind in that they tend to be open to meeting new friends, have a good time, are helpful, and just add something to your time together. Upon arrival Oscar and the security staff are on duty at the front door keeping things safe. Great smile, strong handshake. At the front desk, check in is smooth and pleasant . Marley and her staff make a good first impression. My thoughts and prayers go out to a long time friend Marisol and her family. In the lobby bar you will served by Yara, Alina, and others. Efficient and pleasant service, professional but like to make things fun for everyone. You can get a great cup of coffee served the way I like it, “with a smile” from Learys. You can always find a good omelette for breakfast or eggs the way you like them. Pancakes, sausage, toast, juice will get your day off to a good start. No problem getting a hot meal at noon or supper. The a la carte is worth reserving. The snack bar is always open if you feel like a burger or sandwich. Many improvements have been made to the resort, most notably the two new pools with new pool decks, new showers, wheelchair accessibility to the pool bar. The additional waste cans help keep the grounds clean. New canopy covered walks provide shade and cover from the rain. Mike “The Pool Guy” and staff have the pools clean and clear. Speaking of the pool bar, it’s a happening place all afternoon. I noticed that there are many guests from The Arenas Blancas and Solymar that find the Palma Real pool, the place to be. The music is great and the bar tenders are super. Roberto and Yosleidys -”Tatica” keep things flowing and are so much fun to be around. I would remiss if I didn’t mention a relatively new employee. Anita was a great find. She has personality plus, whether working the pool bar or the buffet, you can’t miss her. The rooms were freshly painted and spotless. The beds are comfortable. I especially like the new thick pillows. Lots of hot water and good air conditioning. The WiFi works fine, but you’re on vacation , give that a rest also. The evening shows and water ballet display some real talent. The location is prime. No need to rent a car or call a taxi. The new Varadero Boulevard is literally right out the front door. Check it out on YouTube. Three of the best night spots in Varadero are within a 5 minute stroll. The Beatles Bar is on the edge on Josone Park and has really good rock cover bands that alternate nightly. Walking back to the resort there’s Cub 62, basicly a street dance with live Cuban music. Just down Calle 62 heading to the resort there’s The Havana Club. It’s actually built in the resort. It’s a disco with the latest dance mixes, light and video shows. A stroll to the beach is a must. I prefer the mornings to about 10am, before it gets too hot. Take your time and it should take you all of five or six minutes to get to one of the best beaches in the world. The Palma Real is the best value with the best staff in the best location near the world’s best beach. I couldn’t ask for more.
