Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Excellent service!!!
The staff were exceptional, every day! The rooms were clean and the food was FANTASTIC! Everyone was very friendly and helpful, there are multiple excursions off site but lots to do on site! I would recommend this resort to anyone!
Starfish Varadero: Good
Everything was good. Nice landscaping. Good nightly programs. Excellent beach. Food was excellent. Beach was nice and long so it was great to have long walks on the beach. The rooms were just ok. The bed was excellent because it was king size.
Carisol los Corales: OK
I had read all the reviews prior to booking so my expectations were low. The cappucino's were good and we enjoyed the fresh pasta at lunch. We were disappointed with the beach; you can really only snorkel. Trip to the city by cabby George was fun, swimming with dolphins was incredibly cheap. No regrets, I'm glad we went. It is a beautiful part of Cuba. Bring clothes, toothpaste, soap, shoes. We gave away as much as we could.
Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: nice location
problem in getting a fair opportunity for ocean view villa, front desk help was no help, never a manager to speak with food is fair, and that does not pose a problem getting beach chairs, and having to pay for them is a problem
Starfish Varadero: Awesome beach!!
The beach was definitely the best part of this vacation. Just beautiful!! Enjoyed the activities at the beach (kayaking, catamaran trip with snorkelling, paddle boats) . The pools at the resort were also very nice. We liked our bungalow room, which was large enough for 4 people. Great service from all staff at the hotel.
Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Beautiful resort but watch out for room selection.
Club Amigo Resort has mixed reviews for our family. Beautiful view. Amazing sceneries. Gorgeous pools. Out of this world snorkeling. Incredible heat! Lots of shade. Great bartenders. The rooms we upgrated to, the Villas, were very nice and spacious and ocean view. The negatives: #1 typical Cuban food (bland) #2 our reserved rooms (Garden View rooms) were minuscule, had horrible mattresses, no view, no balcony and were in the back of the resort. The Villas are 10 times nicer than the other rooms: [... read more]
Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Amazing resort
I truly enjoyed this resort. We stayed in a villa room and loved it. The grounds are well kept, the many pools were amazing, the beach is to die for. Snorkled to the reef in front of resort. Food was acceptable.
Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: great time on this resort
the resort is amazing...food was great, this is our 4th time there and the food has gotten way better...love the a le carte's..ashleys café is great...wonderful staff there,,miquel is awesome makes the best cappuchinos..and does the nicest art work,,,,the only complaint is the entertainment,,,,and only the Cuban cabaret band ,it plays way to many times in the run of 10 days and they sing the same old songs everytime...should try some more upbeat new songs..and for the young people would be nice [... read more]
Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Exactly what our tripcentral told us it would be !
We wanted a inexpensive week in the sun. Our tripadvisor told us it was reported to be older but clean, had a great beach and it was big so lots of places to go. She was bang on very clean room older yes, great pools and beautiful beach. Sun and great tempratures, wonderful staff who did there very best. Exactly what we wanted and expected thanks Krista we had a great time.
Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Great value resort
As long as a beautiful beach and great people are what you're looking for, you'll be incredibly happy if you choose this resort. It had everything we needed! We are not fussy people, our room was clean, our drinks were plenty and we enjoyed 10 great days in the sun. I would recommend this resort to everyone!
Carisol los Corales: it was a very laidback and homy experience
the people who worked there did it for me. they are nice and friendly and willing to help anytime. the place needs a little bit of work but you don't stay in your room when you vacation. you don't have to rush to get beach chair, they have it in abundance. we made friends while we are there and we stayed connected coming back to Canada. the gardeners and security people, please tip them as they don't get as much as the bartenders/servers/cleaners do. I will come back for sure! I love how safe it [... read more]
Carisol los Corales: Amazing Staff
Spent a wonderful two weeks at Corales in February thanks to the graciousness of a well educated staff. I especially recommend the poolside activities for those wishing to keep fit with stretching, Aqua Fit and other programs led by the energetic Yelin. Although horse back riding was available I would have preferred longer trips utilizing the beautiful countryside. Would not recommend going during study week when Canadian university students leave their common sense at home. All told a great pla [... read more]
Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Decent Resort
very large resort - 4 pools and tons of places to eat. stayed in main hotel and room was quite damp, would recommend upgrade to Villa or Bungalow. Always find something to eat, good location, staff wonderful.
Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Additions & Improvements
Grounds: Buildings newly painted, looking great. Gardeners out everyday picking up fallen leaves to keep a tidy look. A very large resort with many areas to explore. A short walk to local market that supplies all of Guardalavaca, Holguin resorts. Dining: 2 Buffets, 6 Snack Bars , a 24 hour bar, a la cartes that you already received a date and time to go, at check-in , so didn't have to wait in a long line to sign up this time!!! Much Better! 2 swim-up bars, and the new Pirate Bar at the Christo [... read more]
Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Awesome place
We just spent a week at Club Amigo and I must say we had an awesome time. The resort was older but was very clean, rooms were cleaned daily. There was not a problem finding food to eat or drinks. The night life was great from nightly shows to disco. The staff were awesome . The vibe at this resort was up beat and fun
Carisol los Corales: You get what you pay for
Check in was very smooth room was tired but clean had to wait till morning to activate safe. Buffet was very poor ran out of food, cutlery and dishes on a daily basis. Dining room, bar, entertainment staff all great David in dining room was the best and shout out to Frank. Pool area was tired always got a lounge chair but ran out of drinks a lot (beer, vodka and mixes). Red wine was not available all week in dining rooms and white only on the last two days. A la cartes were the best meals all we [... read more]
Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: A great resort!
This was our fourth stay at Club Amigo Guardalavarca. Needless to say we love the rural area, which is safe to explore, the friendliness of resort staff and guests. Other highlights include the fact that there are four pool areas, so you can choose a quiet pool to relax by or a vibrant one with lots of activity! The public beach adjacent to the resort is gorgeous and although busy, there is never a concern about finding a lounger and shady spot to relax in between swims. Being public, it also al [... read more]
Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Beautiful beaches!!
Just returned from club amigo. It has a beautiful beach! The snorkel which is quite close to shore was fantastic! The fish were outstanding! There is lots to do at this resort, there are 4 pools the main pool close to the beach is were most of the action is but each pool has a bar and snack bar. The grounds are well taken care of and there is always someone taking care of it! This is a three star hotel and if you are looking to relax and enjoy the sun this is a great place! The food is what it i [... read more]
Carisol los Corales: Good time!
We were looking for a "cheap" holiday over March Break. We went with low expectations, hoping basically to warm up. The resort was fine. It's a little tired looking, no premium alcohol, fewer choices at the buffet, and the Carisol side is a ghost town. That said, the food was reasonably tasty, no bad belly, the rooms were clean, and they always had mint for mojitos. The beach is rocky, but has good snorkelling. No regrets on the trip.
Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: We like it, but villas are worth the extra $
This was our second trip to this resort. Last time we got villas, this time we tried the gardenview section. They are cheaper, very old and dated, tiny, dark and not all have balcony access. Get a villa, if you can afford it. If you really don't care where you lay your head, gardenview will be fine. But be prepared for lesser accommodations for less money! The rest of the resort is great, lots of pools, AMAZING snorkeling and food is decent. Beach is not great for long walks, but bring snorkel g [... read more]
