Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Fantastic staff

When booking I had requested a wheelchair accessible room. Apon arrival found out they do not have wheelchair accessible rooms in this part of hotel but rather needed to go up 3 steps to get into the suite. The staff was amazing and made a ramp for us and offered to help with anything we may need. The resort was beutiful. The food was mediocre but had something for everyone. The suite was amazing loved the jacuzzi and beach chairs on the balcony. I highly recommend the resort

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful all inclusive resort

The hotel covered acres of lush tropical landscape leading to a wide pristine beach. Rooms overlooking the ocean were spacious, clean and well equipped with daily maid service. Food was diverse and plentiful with friendly staff at every corner. Pools were well maintained and easily accessible complete with bar. Overall a great place for r and r. The hotel is very nice. The beach is incredible. The staff are wonderful. The resort is severely understaffed on a day to day basis. Two staff members for an entire dining section in the buffet is unacceptable, to guests and more importantly to the staff. I love Cuba but the food is always very, very poor. I don’t understand it because Cuba is capable of growing anything, especially fruit and vegetables, which are sorely lacking at this and the other Cuban resorts I have vacationed. The t [... read more]hing I was most troubled by was the greed I witnessed in guests in the buffet dining hall. People taking plates laden with food that they wasted and left on tables. I mean people taking 3-4 LOAVES of bread for a table of 4. Plates of 10-15 chicken breasts. Plates of 20-25 desserts. Other guests doing without because food trays stayed empty. It was disgusting and if you’re reading this and recognize yourself you should be ashamed. What must the Cuban people think of us when they see this gross behaviour?

Valentin Perla Blanca: Valentin Perla Blanca

Grounds need alot of work. Very long grass by our building. Don't think that the grass has been cut since the resort has reopened. Only one show in theater in the week that we were there. We've been to this resort in 2017 but resort has gone downhill alot since then. Very friendly staff. Impossible to get maintenance to fix anything in our room. Toilet was running all week and 1/2 inch space around entire door frame.

Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: Angsana Jan 2023

We travelled as 2 couples to this adults only resort 2nd week on January. The resort is an 1 1/2hr from airport in Santa Clara. Resort and grounds are well maintained. Small resort so easy to get around by walking to everything. 2 pools (no swim up bar) with plenty of lounge chairs spread around available. Resort was only about 1/2 full. Main beach located to left of resort big and beautiful, soft sands and had plenty of lunge chairs. Main buffet was fair sized with variety of options for everyone. No chance to go hungry. If you do it's your own fault. Hot grill for eggs, bacon etc. At night grill for fish, beef, chicken, and pork. Also fresh pasta station. 2 ala carte restaurants ... international and Italian. Both had variety of hot and cold items not available at buffet. We enjoyed both. 24hr snack bar by pool that had a limited menu of sandwiches, burgers and pizza that was ok nothing special. Lounge/lobby bar had best drinks. Awesome staff! Made great Cuban friends! Nightly entertainment was limited. Mostly singers and musicians. We were in room 860 which was on top floor at the far right at the corner. we had partial oceanview. Corner room gave us absolutely stunning sun rises. A/C was great. No issues with hot water just had to wait for it to get to top floor. No issues with TP available (we brought some just in case and left it behind). We wanted a safe quiet relaxing get-away this resort delivered. All the Cubans we met and serviced us were very friendly and great. Would definitely recommend it.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Great get away

Everything was great. Water runs short sometimes (for the shower and the sinks). Wasn't much of a problem though Great beach, good drinks, fun entertainment, and lovely staff. Bugs can get a little bad, but that's everywhere 😂

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Lovely resort

This was our second time at the Royalton, Cayo Santa Mari (Adults only) resort. We enjoyed it so much the first time we decided to gift our adult children the vacation for Christmas. We were 8 and were well served by all. Received a nice beverage when we rolled in Michel our butler took care of it all. Our room was wonderful, clean, and fresh towels everyday (p.s. they do not have face cloths) This is a charming (small) resort, with well kept grounds due to the hardworking gardeners but my favorite was Luis he would bring me flowers and say hello every day. This site is lovely, has two pools, one for relaxing and the other were you will meet the entertainment team, Lis is the best and has a contagious smile, loves music . But it all gets more breathtaking when you see the white sanded beach and crystal-clear water. Every day José was at the beach, he set us up with a beach chairs, swept off the sand, placed my towel and table under a palapas. Another, service I didn’t expect. He ran back and forth, providing as many guests as possible with the same A+ treatment and yet again, another employee with a contagious smile. The food is very good. The beach bar and grill made great quesadillas, Enrique/Norge served up fantastic drinks, the sunset grill was our breakfast spot (open 24 hrs), with the sweetest waitresses Beatrice and Marysol. The cuban grill spagetti bolognaise and the fish and chips were my fav. There are two other a la carte restaurants that we visited for our supper which had equally great food, with tasty soups and mains. Overall, we had a great group experience , its an excellent small, clean and perfect to celebrate a quiet, relaxing family vacation. The staff at the Royalton are all great and the General Manager Alejandro is very present, welcoming and ensuring that he spoke to guests daily.

Nice and quiet resort. Rooms are nice but needs maintenance. Some rooms have plumbing issues or shower leaks. No hot water. Some arent clean when checked in. First floor has lots of mosquitoes. Second/third floor has nice ocean views and less bugs. We had a group of 30 people. Public washrooms are dirty except near lobby. All week long is the same food. There is 1 show per night. Over all I would rate 7/10 for this cuba resort. It's cuba! Known for the beach not the food. We had a nice quiet week of relaxation. For the price, it's pretty good.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Had a great vacation

We arrived on Jan 5th to a beautiful hotel on wonderful grounds. The hotel was booked to capacity so there was a lot of people present. Grounds - This resort has four pools and the beach (which is beautiful) but unless you get up at 7am to put your towels on your chairs you are not getting one. During the week I seen multiple altercations over chairs that were uncalled for. The pools were very clean and well maintained and the lobby, theatre and staff were amazing. Food - there is multip [... read more]le a la cartes, the buffet and the snack bar. Due to the amount of people it was very difficult to get food unless you waited in line up for 1 - 2 hours. One day we waited for 2 hours for lunch. A lot of nights we were eating of plates that were not washed well or couldn't get a plate at all. The food was ok but we have never had an issue with Cuba food so no complaints there, it wasn't fantastic but we didn't starve. Our room was amazing, we asked for ground floor close to everything as my husband had spinal surgery and we got exactly what we asked for. Each day the maid came in and cleaned and did a fantastic job. We had a great week but won't be returning to this resort as it is to big for us and we don't like the line ups. In regards to cleaning they need to ensure there dishes are cleaned better and general areas as this was lacking. I would suggest this resort to you if you like to have fun with the amazing entertainment staff, don't mine waiting in line and don't mine walking as it is quite large but if those things are not for you I would suggest you move on.

An amazing job of reopening a resort after 2.5 years ! The food was better than expected and the current staff well trained and courteous. One of the top 10 beaches in the world ! Note that there were a few mosquitos so take bug spray. Some liquor items (premium brands of alcohol as previously available: vodka, tequila, Baileys) were not available with the Alegance Package Some buffet items were missing (no decaf coffee, orange juice). Canadian coins cannot be exchanged by the staff at Cuban banks and American money must be sold on the “black market” Tip with Cuban pesos.

The hotel was wonderful very clean and staff was very friendly. The grounds are well maintained. There are two beaches the larger one has lots of sandy beach front but there is some rocky areas a short distance in the water. The second smaller one is great and very relaxing. The a la cartes had great choices and the food was very good. The only issue was they had no menus, probably Covid, and you had to take a pic from their phones to see it (a bit annoying). Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: The best!

I have been traveling to Cuba many times and have enjoyed each visit. This was the best. Everything was wonderful. The grounds were well maintained. The room was clean. The food was the best I have ever had in Cuba. The beach was magnificent. The staff without exception were polite and helpful. My only criticism is the music being played at the bar was too loud.I could hear it in my room while trying to sleep. I would without hisitation recommend this resort.

The resort was very beautiful and the beach was amazing. My only complaint is that we had no hot water in our room. I complained every day and they said they would look at it but it never got taken care of.

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Unpleasant experience

There are issues in this resort with cleaning : dirty dishes, dirty rooms. The buffet has major issues with shortage of staff and food . I have been over 25 times in Cuba and I have never seen a resort not to have enough bread ! The lines ups for food are anywhere form 45 min to one hour. The staff are exhausted with tourists demands and frustration, to get a glass of water or a drink at the buffet you will wait 20 min or more. If there is soup, there are no spoons and many other complains.  [... read more] We were traveling with a child and we did need to wait in line to get some food for our kid, otherwise, we will be starving until breakfast , the only decent time to eat. The room was cleaned about 3 times for the entire time we were there, we were 3 people in the room , we only had 2 towels and we were lucky I guess because other people had one or no towels! The beach is amazing , the water activities are really good. The music is too loud , so if you are looking for a quiet place to relax , this is NOT the place. I felt robbed going to this hotel, I do NOT recommended unless you get a supper deal. By the end of the trip, we realized that the biggest problem in the resort is the management , not capable to hire enough people, or to provide the proper training and organize the resort properly .

Melia Las Dunas: Beautiful Place

Beautiful resort lovely people from the landscape staff , bar staff buffet and a la Carte restaurants and everyone in between . The food was good for what is made available to them. Some people will find a reason to complain. We come to enjoy friendly people nice weather and the beautiful beach We will be returning Feb

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: A lot of False advertisement!

It was very hard to book reservations for the good restaurants, the buffet food was terrible, alcohol drink were not drinkable. Hot tubs weren’t hot they were pool temperature with no gets. Disappointed ☹️ ⭐️⭐️

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: A new low!!!!

As always when we travel to Cuba we expect nothing, well this time we were shocked. At arrival we didn’t get our usual welcome to Cuba drink, okay not a big deal. The room has updated furnishing, bonus…nice big balcony, bonus….The pool area is very large and the pools are beautiful, bonus!!!! We met a few lovely people, bonus!!!! After check-in we headed to the buffet, it was after 8pm when we arrived. We grabbed something quick, cause we were tired. Well for the next week, the food w [... read more]as exactly the same 3 times a day…On our second day at dinner we noticed cockroaches running around and staff just didn’t even mind them. I got up and with a napkin did my best to kill them with my feet..I spoke with hospitality manger and he didn’t flinch and proceeded to tell me that Cubans called them American cockroaches because they just come out of no where….what???? I said to him..The fact is that if they were roaming around the dining room I could only imagine the kitchen…There were hardly any serving utensils, one set for each side of the hot table….chicken and fish being touched by same utensil…Napkins were only available the first day, second day we were given toilet paper and there after not even toilet paper was supplied. People eating fish and chicken and going back for seconds and hands not being wiped..At the bread station sometimes there were thongs, most days not, so people just reached into the baskets and grabbed bread with their hands, the same goes for the dessert area. I asked the manager if the what looked like pirogies, had meat, he went over to hot table, with is hands he reached in and took one, pulled apart and said not it’s pumpkin. Cold cuts and cheeses being served with same thongs. NOTE there aren’t any washrooms at the beach, at this resort. The specialty dining rooms were a joke. Only one was open and it served different food every night. I was told by people who ate there, that the same buffet food was served there in a different setting. Wi-fi is free but you’re given 10 hours and then you need to go back to main lobby to log off and ack on again, most times it didn’t even work in our room..One day there weren’t any bath towels, finally beach towels were given in their place. Wait staff refused Pesos as tips, asking for U.S. $ instead…They purposely keep only a few pool chairs out, maybe 20, so that you have to request and of course tip…never seen this before, only at the beach. This resort is not a 5*, it’s a 1*, I would hate for someone to spend their har working money on this resort and be disappointed….it’s absolutely horrendous. We have been to Cuba over 10 times…this was the end

Paradisus Los Cayos: Great resort

Paradisus Los Cayos is a great resort in Cayo Santa Maria, Cuba. The hotel is relatively new, the beach is stunning and the people working there are so nice. The food is not bad [for Cuba]. We didn't spend any time in the pools or the kid's area. This is definitely a beach resort!

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Great trip

The staff there are fantastic, and make you feel so welcome. The beach was beautiful. The main pool is huge and there are 2 other pools that are shallow. Food was good and buffet had lots of choice. We will definitely return to this resort.

Most of the staff are very courteous and go and above beyond. Room maintenance can definitely be paid attention to - towels, toilet paper, toiletries etc Some bedding do have a bit of stench Vegetarians pl pack extra additions to make your meal. Not much of choices and even rice needs to be cooked better. Non vegetarians have ample choices but may need some flavoring Amazing beach and grounds Entertainment is good too
