Overall, if you want to party, this is the resort for it! Food was amazing, and customer service was 7/10 most times!
A few things,
At check in they gave me and my friends our room keys but never gave us any towel cards (We didnt even know these cards existed until we went to go get a towel). So we just air dryed all week. When we went to go checkout, they asked for out towel cards and we said we don't have one and the lady working the front said, $20 us dollars (per card, per guest) if yo[... read more]u don't give me a card. We all had to pay even though we all NEVER got cards.
When me and my one friend were sleeping, a worker just opended our door with their key and said "hello", I replied and said "hello, could you pleaase come back so we can get ready for out day" (We just woke up at like 830am). the worker completly ignored me and started fixing stuff in the room and replacing things. When he left to grab some stuff I closed the door with the do not distub sign and he started banging until I opened it. Then he came in fixed whatever he needed to "fix" and replaced an alcohoal bottle.
Other than those 2 things, overall great resort and a great time. This dosent happen to everyone, but just thought I would share my experiences!

Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: Elegance was exactly what we needed.
No issues with anything here at the Majestic Elegance. Staff was always friendly each ensured they could do their best to make our stay the most comfortable. There was enough to do if we chose, but with a day in the Sun we mostly didn’t make it late into the night. Didn’t use the beach due to the sargassum at the time but the resort staff stayed on top of removing it, we enjoyed our spot by the pool a little too much to bother going to the beach.

Lopesan Costa Bavaro Resort: Amazing Stay at This Breathtaking Resort!
I recently had the pleasure of staying at this stunning resort, and I cannot recommend it highly enough! From the moment we arrived, the level of service was outstanding, and it was all thanks to our incredible butler, Isaury De Los Santos Isaury made our vacation completely trouble-free by being constantly available, always solving any issues with a smile, and providing exceptional service throughout our entire stay. His attention to detail and commitment to making sure everything went smoothly[... read more] was truly remarkable. He made us feel like VIPs the entire time!
The resort itself is a true paradise – beautifully designed with lush vegetation throughout the property, creating a serene and tropical atmosphere. The landscaping is impeccably maintained, and it really does feel like you’re staying in a luxurious jungle retreat.
Food-wise, this place has it all! The restaurants are fantastic, offering a wide variety of delicious dishes, and the massive buffet never disappoints. There’s also a 24-hour American diner that serves up huge burgers, crispy chicken fingers, and mouthwatering chicken wings – perfect for late-night cravings. The food options are abundant, and you’ll never go hungry here. I also want to highlight that the bars are plentiful, ensuring you're never too far from a refreshing drink.
The room itself was super comfortable, and everything was running efficiently – from the air conditioning to the water pressure in the shower. No complaints here at all!
However, the only downside was the condition of the beach water. While the sand was pristine – soft and white – the water wasn’t as inviting. It had a greenish hue with some seaweed floating around, along with debris. This was a bit of a letdown because the beach itself has so much potential.
Despite that, the overall experience was absolutely fantastic, and I would return in a heartbeat! Huge thanks to Isaury and the whole resort team for making this an unforgettable vacation. If you’re looking for a relaxing, beautiful getaway with top-notch service and facilities, this resort is the place to be!

Ocean El Faro: Awesome Lazy River
It was a quick getaway for my sister and I to just relax for three days. I chose this resort for the lazy river and it was everything I hoped it would be. They do run out of tubes at the resort though so we brought our own. It was so much fun with all the water features along the river and a swim up bar. My favourite water feature were the water cannons, little kids would spray us as we went by and my sister and I even took a turn spraying people with the cannons. There were also two huge swimmi[... read more]ng pools and each of them had their own swim up bars, we did not go in either pool but they were very nice. The beach was nice, lots of seaweed on the beach as it had been stormy when we were there so that's understandable. And it's the ocean so you get what mother nature gives you. The resort is not too large, easy to walk it and well laid out in a logical way. The nicest lobby I've seen in any resort as it was completely enclosed and air conditioned, made it lovely for our last day when waiting for our shuttle. We only ate at the grill beside the pool, hamburgers and hotdogs, it was just okay. All our meals were eaten at the buffet. I enjoyed the variety and thought everything was decent. I love that they have an adults only seating section at the buffet. The a la cartes, many of them are first come, first served, the three that we wanted to try were the ones that required a reservation and we had trouble and couldn't book any. The Japanese, Steakhouse and Italian all need a reservation. The booking app said they were always booked up, and even when I got through to the Japanese, it asked how many but would not let me put in two people, which is how many we were, it would only let me put in just one of us, so we skipped it. The rooms were comfortable, comfy bed, tv worked, always had hot water. Only issues with the room was how hard it was to open and close the balcony door, it took both my sister and I to open or close it, it was that stuck. And the AC in our room knew only two temperatures, freezing or off. It didn't matter if we set it for 18 or 28 degrees Celsius, it would stay locked at it's lowest setting so we had to frequently turn it off to unfreeze our toes. Highlights of our stay were definitely the lazy river, the ice cream stand, Mike's coffee shop with the fancy desserts and bowling (even though the balls were so warped, or the lane) but that made it super funny because everyone did terrible. We loved the arm bands at the resort, instead of the usual plastic bands, this one was a ribbon with a disk of plastic that was also your room key, handy. We would definitely visit again. Now for the few areas that need work, most of the staff speak no English, it is challenging trying to communicate with them, maybe getting a better app for restaurant booking, and the one that really bugged my sister and I...they ask that you don't flush any toilet paper in the toilet, they want is put in the garbage. That is a hot mess and unsanitary. Other than that...go and have a good time.
The grounds was immaculate the landscape was really beautiful. The room was spacious the house keeping staff was friendly and helpful. The buffet was great I have to make special mention of Luis and crew they were magnificent. They know how to keep the guest happy.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Melia Caribe in Punta Cana -Level
When we arrived we decided to upgrade to the Level. We were lucky we get a room in building 36 which was the closest to the beach. Only 1 minute to the beach and 30 seconds to the main pool. Food was okay but the restaurant Riviera was the best. People complain in the reviews over the long walks from the beach to the lobby but was only 12-13 minutes walk. But there were always the little trains or the golf carts
In front of the beach were floating barriers that was holding 80-90% of the seawee[... read more]d/sargassum but we still got the waves. So it was great to be in the ocean. Seen other beaches at Bavaro that were bad. The grounds are amazing and well kept. When upgrade to the Level you get a butler who also book your a la cart restaurants, access to a special pool and restaurant (Riviera) and premium drinks. Upgraded drinks and snacks in the fridge. The 15 minutes drive from the airport will take at least 30-45 minutes because of the terrible traffic.

Riu Republica: Nice beach, but many rooms with no AC
Food was amazing, beach was nice. Not that much sargassum compared to other resort in Punta Cana. Not the bad, we were the first to exit the bus and reach reception and were given a room with no AC. We asked to change room and instead they insisted in sending someone to check the AC with took 3 hours. Finally they were forced to give us another room however they wanted to give us a room with 1 bed. We needed 2 beds. After arguing they finally gave us a room with 2 beds even tho they told us they[... read more] wasn’t any room available. 2 nd room no AC again. Went back to lobby, and they checked 4 different room and they could find a room with working AC. We arrived at 5pm and only finally got a decent room at midnight with working AC. In the meantime, a lot of people checked in and received a proper room. Few days after, the toilet bowl wouldn’t flush and we let reception know, they sent someone to check and he used a plastic bag to connected the string in the toilet bowl. After a few flush it wouldn’t work anymore. We had to put out hand water in the back of the toilet bowl to flush manually. Finally the swim up pool bar beside the beach, the water in the pool was very murky where you could barely see your feet. Everything else was fine. You can swim at any time during the day or night. This is a party hotel, clientele is very young. Early 20’s.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Resort in need of TLC
The resort rooms are fair but the workmanship in the reno is in need of a little TLC the grounds and beach are in very good shape and the pools seemed ok we try not to do pools. The restaurants lack of variety in selection for example for your toast in the morning no peanut butter and only strawberry jam if you have lactose or gluten free none to be found the staff are very nice I thought that this being an Hyatt resort would compare to the Riu or the Bahai but not close to it.

The hotel itself offers good amenities food and drinks but our experience was not very pleasant one
Issues were not dealt with efficiently just a laid back approach
Several requests made to have refrigerator fixed went unanswered absolutely nothing done
Air-conditioner was noisy
Sliding door broken shower broken and took a while to get fixed after constantly persisting
Extra pillows and blankets were not provided until the 5th night on our 7 day vacation

VIK Hotel Arena Blanca: You receive exactly what you pay
It is a 3-star hotel. Don’t expect fancy dining, fancy cocktails, or top notch activities and amenities. However, it was very good considering the price we paid (almost 60% of the average price in Punta Cana). Seaweed is abundant but that’s not the hotel’s fault.

VIK Hotel Arena Blanca: Surprisingly pleased
So I went to this resort with extremely low expectations. Not only was it the cheapest at the time of booking but the reviews were terrible. Two pools were out due to construction and apparently the seaweed was a disaster. But in fact I was met with a very lovely resort with nice grounds. The pool they did have was still very large and the noise was not even an issue. Plenty of lounge chairs and while some did reserve early, there was always somewhere to sit. Yes the seaweed starts building up i[... read more]n the evening and by morning it’s so full, but by 9 they have it all cleared up and it’s easy access to the ocean. They definitely have lost some of their beach due to this cleanup but if you walk to the left a little bit there is plenty of room in the sand. Food was decent, I had bacon every day for breakfast. But they didn’t have anyone cooking fresh eggs :( Building one had fantastic AC and I always had extremely hot water. Easy to walk around because it’s a smaller resort but still nice pathways with lovely flowered bushes and plenty of trees. Wifi was non existent in my room but accessible from my balcony and the main areas.

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Hotel Review
Hotel grounds is huge. Need trolley car to take you to other Hotels on its site, or to the Lobby. Main lobby buffet was the only one open at the time. The other was closed . Our bathroom definitely could use a fan inside of it, and the shower pressure was very low. On-site there were plenty of village shops, and a massage spa which we had a couples massage. It was good. Overall food was good. Yes would recommend it to families.
AQUAMARINE RESORT EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS! FOOD WAS AMAZING.

Grand Bavaro Princess: Too Many Problems
Not Worth the Money – Disappointing Stay at Grand Bavaro Princess
I stayed at Grand Bavaro Princess in Punta Cana and was genuinely disappointed with the overall experience.
Cons far outweighed any positives. The main pool was dirty, and it was clear that drink cups weren’t properly washed — I had lipstick marks left on several cups, which is extremely unhygienic.
The food was repetitive and lacked variety — same dishes every day with very limited options. The beach, while having white [... read more]sand, was often covered in seaweed, and there were days when no one came to clean it at all, which made it unusable.
In the room, the AC never got cold, and despite raising the issue with staff, it was never fixed. The fridge didn’t cool drinks, the shower head was falling from the ceiling, and we never received a TV remote, even after asking multiple times.
The resort shuttle was unreliable, always overcrowded with long waits (usually 10 minutes or more), and getting around the resort became frustrating. On top of that, staff were constantly pushy about selling products or upgrades, even when we politely declined multiple times.
One of the most unacceptable parts of our stay was experiencing racist behavior on five separate occasions, which staff either laughed off or ignored completely. That alone made the trip uncomfortable and disheartening.
The only positives were that the resort felt safe, and the white sand beach (when clean) was beautiful — but that’s about it.
Overall, I would not recommend this resort. Poor service, lack of cleanliness, repeated disrespect, and overall neglect made this vacation memorable for all the wrong reasons.
