Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Great place to stay with amazing staff.

We have travelled to this hotel several times this year, but, I leave honest reviews. Our most recent stay was at the beginning of September. Overall the grounds and gardens are well maintained. There was a couple small areas in the sidewalks down by the beach that were under repair which appeared to be from adding some new pvc drainage lines. It rained extremely heavy 1 day while we were there and it was apparent why they were installing additional ones. Secondly the beach. We have been travel [... read more]ling to Cuba for 20 years and I will say that the beach here is beautiful. Pure white sand and always clean. There were lots of chairs available. There are 2 separate areas. As you enter the beach from the main walk to the far right is Diamond Club only and to the left is for anyone. Diamond Club has exclusive bar and food offering sandwiches, burgers etc. The "anyone" side also has bar and food, offering pizzas. We have experienced both sides and have no complaints. The food here is always good. If your up for a walk, wait until the tide starts to go out. You can go either to the right to the point or to the left around the bend. Towards the point, when the tide is out there are small pools of water left behind. Lots of starfish, small crabs. Very interesting to see. Make sure to take lots to drink because it is a fair walk and can get quite hot. Thirdly, the food. The buffet is a typical buffet. It does change slightly from day to day. They do have stations for cooking pasta, meats and fish as you choose. The dining room was always clean but they also offer outdoor covered dining area. Snack bar food is always good! They offer the burgers, fries, hotdogs, etc. over by the pool. A la Carte restaurants food was good as well. They are small portions so if your a large eater, hitting the buffet or snack bar as well isn't a bad idea. The bars. Lobby bar, sports bar, snack bar and beach bars. All offer pretty much the same. My wife and I really don't drink much so can't comment on them to much. They did run out of draft beer for a couple days but it was replaced by bottles and cans. So beer was still available. There is also a small building in the pool area called Beans. It serves specialty coffees and ice cream during the day. 10-4 I believe. A must to visit! Lastly, the staff. I will try to keep this area short. Amazing! Plain and simple. With the current situations in Cuba these people will and do give 110% to make your stay the best possible. Some things are simply just out of their control but you can bet they will do everything they can to make things right. My theory is "a vacation is what you make it" Things can always go a bit sideways in any destination. And if things do and your determined to have a great time, you will. I recommend taking the time to get to know some of the staff. They always have great stories and share some laughs!

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: We feel deceived and let down by Sunwing

Website description not accurate, no privileges other than lobby bar at other 2 near by Memories resorts as they are closed, including all extra dining. There is no 24hr snack bar and you have to beg for late night snacks (stale ham sandwiches). Only given 1 bottle of water a day/room. Majority of the food was not fresh, very limited choices. Only alcohol that was available at all bars was rum, real vodka hard to find. All beer taps ran dry, bottled beer was harsh, no cola or club soda for mix,  [... read more]just orange pop/lime pop. Most staff great but look exhausted and are too pushy on last day looking for tips. Beach was phenomenal. Best part of the trip by far. Will not return as we had multiple issues with Sunwing that remain unresolved and feel deceived, and paid extra $100 for 2x Elite Plus seating return and were bumped to regular with no refund or explanation.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: 7-day Stay

My review of this resort: Wifi is only in the lobby and no other part of the resort. Not many places are air-conditioned, the rooms are your best bet if you want to escape the heat. The grounds are well kept and the beach is amazing. The best thing about this resort is the beach. Careful of sand flies at the beach though, my partner and I were bit all over our legs and arms. In all honesty, I would not come back to this resort.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Ruined vacation

I went to this resort about 10 years ago and service and food was excellent. That's why I decided to comeback again to experience it. Unfortunately, level of servece and comfort went down so I would rate it 2 star resort - toilet was not working upon arrival, no restocking drinks in a room (diamond club) unless you complaine to front office every day, no plastic cups in bars on a beach so no drinks, spanish speaking (locals) serviced first, food in a la carte the same as in buffet, flies on fo [... read more]od, internet had constant issues and restricted and not unlimited, etc, etc, etc I talked to several families on a beach and they experienced the same issues... Cuba and beaches are good just not in this resort.

Memories Jibacoa: Nice and quiet resort

Our overall impression was pretty positive. The resort is a bit dated but clean. The room had everything we needed except the coffeemaker was broken. Other people complained about little things like a broken balcony handle or a leaking fridge (typical for Cuba). The beach is nice and spacious with a lot of shade from trees. A good thing is that you do not have to save spots -there's plenty of room for everyone all day long. Entertainment is high quality (again, typical for Cuba). The service is pretty good, the staff is friendly and helpful. We were particularly impressed with our Sunwing rep, Milena. She went above and beyond to make us happy and spent as much time with us as we needed. Many thanks to her for taking her time t answering our numerous questions and finding the right excursions for us! In general, it was worth the money.

Grand Memories Varadero: Great resort!

We had a great stay at Grand Memories resort with all the comforts of home. Really friendly and helpful staff.We spent every day at the pool and enjoyed the short distance to the beach. I only wished we had stayed a little longer. We will definitely be back!

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Memories are special

This is my second time at this resort. Go with an open mind and enjoy what Cuba has to offer. Remember that Cuba does not have access to the supplies most countries have, however they seem to make the best of their situation. Beach is second to none and people are also fantastic. If you are going for variety at the buffet pick a different country. The junior suite is perfect and the resort is very good for walking.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Awful Place

Unfortunately we stay at this hotel for a week , the hotel is falling apart, room service very bad at the point I had to fight for a toilet paper and bottle of water at the service desk.I know what to expect when I travel to Cuba special in the hotels but this in particular is the worse, main toilet beside the bar always dirty and awful smell , at the restaurant you have to inspect very well the utensils otherwise they can give you dirty plate or stained glass . Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Beautiful beach

We go to Cuba just for the beaches and this beach was amazing - crystal clear water and white sand with a sand bar in the water and a long stretch of beach to take nice walks. The buildings are older, the rooms are clean, but very basic. The pressure in the shower is not good and only a small amount of water trickles out. The staff are absolutely amazing and couldn't do enough for us. Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Love You to the Beach and Back

Another superb vacay! We are overwhelmed with the enthusiasm of the staff when they see us and run to say hola asking if we need assistance. The best dinner was Gala night. It was the best lobster that was smothered in warm, melted butter accompanied with tender, mouthwatering steak with flavourful cream sauce. The lounge bar staff Lio, Anet, JJ & Adrianna our dear friends looked after us in the evenings and had big smiles when they saw us walk into the room. Lio handles the bar well, polite with customers, always wanting to please. We were ecstatic to see Jesús at the Sanctuary! He was truly missed by many guests. The cart driver Luis Andres has a huge, charismatic personality that engulfs the Sanctuary with happiness. Collectively the cart drivers are fun, polite, strong men to carry our tons of luggage. Crazy, loveable guys! The snack bar staff are an asset especially Roxy. Nice, welcomed touch is the BBQ at the beach bar at lunchtime. Ribs, chicken, sausage & hamburgers. Words cannot describe the legend Alex Basanta! Oh boy he does not stop, the energy he has is phenomenal. Hard working, pleasant and most important he knows baseball especially NYY. Siempre nuestro hogar!

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Incredible Resort!!!

Amazing place to relax! I enjoyed my days with my family. Especially with my 93 years old mom. The facilities are great, the staff were very kind and helpful. I appreciate very much their good essence in delivering their services to all of us. The Animation Team is spectacular...great work!!

Muy buena atención, excelente su gente. Nos sentimos muy acogida sobre todo con mi madre de 93 años la atención para ella fue muy agradable y acogedora. Sanctuary at Grand Memories is one of the many resorts in Cuba that is struggling to get back to the 4-5 star it was once - before COVID hit. We have always loved this resort and will probably come back.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Amazing people Amazing resort

Hola, I think I have stayed at at least 7 other resorts in the Cayo Coco area and by far this is my favourite, great food, beaches, ponds, cottages and the layout. it’s now under new management, Alba is the greatest…young, energetic, cares for the staff, customers, cats, dogs and even the resident Pelican. Speaking of, I saw a bad review from a Nikki Beach I think her name is…. Crazy, totally wrong information especially about her comments about the Pelican. I have worked with Y [... read more]adira and Paula Baptista from DEPAM animal rescue out of Moron for a few years now at other resorts, and will do so again at this one soon… trying to get dogs and cats spayed and neutered…plus I have had the pleasure of bringing back 6 puppies and a kitten who had been adopted by loving Canadians. About the Pelican; The Pelican looks like the ones from Florida, it likely got caught up by hurricane Irma when it was quite young, and dropped in Cuba, because the pelicans that are natural to this area look prehistoric. This Pelican, he or she has resided rent free at the Caribe all these years to my understanding…Alba the manager now has certain kinds of fish fed to him every night near the buffet by the chefs, I’ve seen it myself… he is picky and will spit out the kinds he doesn’t like… he gets feisty at night and will grab at the ladies legs if you get close enough…FYI; as long as you don’t pull away, you won’t get scratched by his hooked tooth at the front of his beak. He does not know how to or can’t fish for himself (or is really lazy lol) … it’s probably because he’s suffered from a broken wing for so long… either from the hurricane or a dog got to him. He’s doing much better now thanks to Alba the manager, allowing Paula’s group, the DEPAM volunteers and the Vet access to the resort to do his surgery. I am so proud to know all of these loving, caring, amazing, wonderful people. I would highly recommend visiting the Caribe, I’m planning on it again next month, enjoy… I know I will

Grand Memories Varadero: Surprising resort, lots of room to improve.

The spaces are beautiful, and the accommodations for staying can be good. Room cleaning is personable and nice, but beware items going missing. Some rooms electronic locks are broken or out of service. Cooking staff is okay, but the food is very mediocre. Without heating lamps or tables, cold food is constant, so be vigilant. Some grill staff make food contamination errors, so beware those who cook raw chicken. Buffet is fine, but bland, bring your own spices. Internet connectivity is okay, [... read more] but not good. Disconnects constantly and only within building reach; needing to bother front desk constantly, but it's better than originally thought. Fun to have family events every day, and with such variety. The night "disco" is the only, but best club on location. When I went, about half of restaurants/locations were still closed (July 2022) which may explain prices. Beware tour-goers and persons on bus offering $-Peso exchange rates.

Animation parfaite. Service très bien. Juste les chambres ne sont pas rénovés. La. Douche était très mauvaise. L' eau du toilette ne fonctionnait pas. Boissons non disponible comme sprite. La toilette donné pour le bain dernière journée n était pas servi des serviettes.

Clean resort, quit old one, the stuff are amazing, many things missed, like lemon and lime and sprite drink, the beach are amazing, need more activities at the beach, the entertainers are pro.its a good resort for who wanna pay less than 1000$/ person.
