Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Nice Resort, Great Staff

The room was comfortable and large. The resort is quite large but I didn't find it overly hard to get around. I did not use the pool, don't like loud music. Never had a problem finding a beach chair which is important to me. The beach has some rocky areas, but you can navigate around them. A La Carte restaurants were good. Buffet always had something good to eat. Staff at the buffet restaurant are very friendly. A little far from the airport.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Amazing resort

This was our second time staying in Ocean Riviera Paradise. The resort is very beautiful . It is a big resort ,very clean and a lot to do. The beach is very nice too. We stayed in ElBeso adult only. Rooms are clean and nicely furnished. Food is exellent in all restaurant .We did not visit the Mexican restaurant this year. The staff is very helpful also. The only problem here is if you have a problem walking and you want to go to the beach you have to take a trolleys and you have to wait a long t [... read more]ime till they come. If you are in privileged club they go always almost empty but they do not stop for you.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Amazing resort

Loved everything about this resort. Friendly staff amazing beach! Lots of shopping and things to do! We swam with dolphins right on the resort. We had an amazing seven day trip and plan to take the family back in the future.

Occidental Cozumel: Beautiful Resort

The resort contained beautiful well maintained gardens and grounds which housed an array of wildlife such as iquanas, gekos and birds (if you're not an animal lover don't worry they will not approach you). The rooms were clean and spacious with lots of hot water and adequate air conditioning. Lots of choices at the buffet and food handling was of high standard. Adult pool was lovely and we enjoyed the daily visits by the iguanas but you had to select your pool chairs early in the morning if you wanted a spot. Beach was nice and contained a childerns pool nearby. I can’t say enough about the hotel staff they made every effort to make your stay enjoyable especially the food and bar servers. We also enjoyed the pizza at night and the nightly shows are of good quality. We arrived around 8:30pm at the Cozumel airport, ignore the sales people in the airport lobby (they make you think they're your hotel reps) and go directly through to meet your ride to the hotel which is ~20 min drive. Once at the hotel checkin took 10-15 min and then we were driven to our room. Even at 9pm the buffet area was open, also pizza was available upstairs in the open patio. We purchased the island tour package which was good but too long and snorkling (Charra- ch?? the bigger boat with a bathroom) which was fantastic, we saw turtles and a lot of fish, crew was great too. We recommend downloading your airline app on a cell phone to checkin to your flight prior to as it will eliminate standing in the very long checkin line at the airport. You receive 1hr free internet, there were 2 computers onsite I assume for flight checkin. Extra internet access can be purchased for a fee.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: very nice hotel.

everything was good all areas food was good but sweets not at our expectation. Shows at night some good some not that good.all area around was clean and every day they maintain that cleanliness throughout the day. Time share representatives very bothering. Activities plenty to go.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Enjoyable resort

We enjoyed this resort, friendly staff and the food was great. Enjoyed using the Tulum resort as well. Nightly entertainment was good. If we were to stay again we would definitely prefer to be closer to the beach and would stay at Tulum.

Secrets Huatulco: Interesting resort

This was our first time in Huatulco and our first time at a Secrets resort. It was recommended to us as an amazing resort. In fact, we spoke to many people at the resort who were repeat guests, some even as many as 6 times. While the resort is quite beautiful in many ways, we were somewhat disappointed in several areas. The room was clean and spacious. The food, while not the vast variety of choices we have experienced at other resorts, was always very tasty. It was some of the best tasting food we have had at a resort. There were lots of umbrellas and chairs around the pool and the grass covered shade structures and chairs on the beach were plentiful. The grounds are well maintained by a cheerful group of gardeners. However, there were a few things that affected our enjoyment of the week completely. First, there are visible signs, from the lobby through to our room, of neglect or shoddy repairs. The lobby is underwhelming and the fountain at the entrance isn't operating. The pools are in need of refurbishing, there is mold under the swim-up bar, and the waterfall between levels is just a series of pools. The elevator in our building (3) was hot and dirty. The stairwell next to the elevator was dark. The motion sensor lights only come on when you reach the top of the stairs. In our room, the sliding wall between the bed and the jacuzzi tub is warped and the mirror is water damaged. Pretty sure someone is having second thoughts about that idea. And the stairs between the two pool levels are downright dangerous! Finally, Castaways restaurant was our worst food experience of the week. Breakfast was extremely slow and supper was slow and the only meal I did not enjoy. I had the steak and shrimp skewers and could only eat the shrimp. I asked for not potatoes and so I got 2 skewers and that's it. Not even a few limp vegetables. The cooks in the Market Grill sure don't work up at Castaways. Also, this was the only time the service was so poor that we actually got angry. Will we go back? To be fair, we don't tend to repeat visit as there are so many places we have yet to go, however, considering the extra money we paid for this resort package, we will definitely not be returning.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Good resort but..

The hotel itself was beautiful. Good food (most restaurants) nice pools, the adults only hideaway section was the best area for us. The beach was full of sea weed and wasn’t the nice blue water. This was by far the busiest resort I’ve ever been too. Good and bad thing. So many kids and teenagers running around. It sucks cause the adults only section is so small and the resort itself is so big so you want/ need to leave the adults only section. Again good for the resort, a con for adults. The [... read more] entertainment was great! Both the adults only section and the regular sections entertainment was always good and different. The dorado was the best restaurant with the best food, in the adults only section! Would recommend. We ate there 3/7 nights. Buffets were awesome for breakfast lunch and dinner. A huge selection. Con: was always PACKED!! Like lineups. The hunter was another awesome steak house. Great food!! Service was great everywhere. The staff was super nice and always helpful! Overall would rate it 4/5. It is expensive though, on the higher end of Mexico stays.

Catalonia Playa Maroma: Loved this place!!!

I have nothing but great things to say about this resort! This was our first time in Mexico and we weren't sure what to expect, but this place blew us away. Super amazing and friendly staff, great food, beautiful beach, large pool, extremely clean.... We thought the Grill restaurant was by far the best, we ate there twice and it was amazing. We also loved the little taco truck and sausage stand beside the pool for lunch. So many good food options.

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Amazing resort

This was an wonderful resort with excellent facilities, restaurants, and activities for all ages. Would definitely go back to this resort in the future. Was a great vacation with all family members to celebrate an anniversary.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Very nice resort!!

Just got back from iberostar paraiso beach resort, it was amazing , the food was great. The beach was awesome,the room was spacious, and very clean. Had a awesome sunny week away...would recommend this resort...

Hotel Xcaret Mexico: An absolute paradise

Attention to every detail, the beauty of this resort cannot be overstated. Gorgeous natural beauty as well as luxurious extras. As someone with a dietary restriction (celiac disease), I had no issues whatsoever. We did many amazing excursions which were included and each exceeded our expectations. We will be back!

Haven Riviera Cancun: Great place!

Lovely grounds, amazing rooms- recommend serenity club for ocean front swim-up, close to airport. Beach good size and regularly maintained, some seaweed at times but under nature's control. Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya: Great service

Overall, the resort is small and perfect for families. The staff provided good service. The food could be better. The grounds were nice and cleaned, daily. As for the rooms, they are nice but have a musty odour.

Crown Paradise Golden: GOLDEN CROWN PARADISE

Good things: sun, beach, warm weather, staff was awesome Negative: seemed to be a party resort with too many young adults that took over the pool and hot tube. Daily there was beer pong and one day they were all twerking around the pool. I am not prude but this is not what I signed up for. Dreams Jade Resort and Spa: Great place to vacation

the grounds were very well manicured, beautiful pools and beach views, staff did a great job of keeping the beach free of seaweed and very well manicured food was very enjoyable and was of great quality - portion sizes small in a la carte restaurants but you could order as much of anything as you would want. the buffets had plenty of selection and you would be hard pressed to not be able to find something you like even if you are a very picky eater. staff very friendly and courteous and yo [... read more]u were never pressured to tip although based on the excellent service it was appropriate to do so often the rooms were kept very clean and luxurious with refreshments replaced daily and more often if need be

Paradisus Playa Del Carmen Roulette: Good resort with flaws

Loved flying Air Transat. April was excellent at her job making arrangements answering questions helping us navigate online stuff. The roulette process worked in our favour as we got into La Perla n had an additional upgrade. Rooms were immaculate as was entire complex. Hotel staff crisp In their uniforms n always helpful n pleasant. Food was very good tho oysters squid n octopus were on many restaurant menus not to our taste n sometimes difficult to select foods that we know. Buffets adequate  [... read more]tho heavy on Mexican choices in terms of sides n sauces. Was disappointed with only one pool that had dance music blasting from 12-4 everyday. Bar open from 11-6 only. Another bar near by was only for the next level Of guests as my husband was told. The South street bar opened at 11 til not sure when but there was no 24 bar. Only entertainment there for adults was local bands again very loud. family side had acts n magician. Other than the professional dancers who did Olympic events on the first sat n Queen tribute band on the following Thursday there was nothing. Missed real entertainment. Lobby area had beautiful seating but no bar or soft music to sit n play cards or biard games with other guests we met. Smelled wonserful tho. Did not like the ambient lighting thru out the complex. Too dark even at meals. I want to see what there is around me n what I’m eating. The lighting around the complex was very poor also. As we had to walk around at nite I could not see the facial details of anyone we passed. Did not make me feel secure. We booked a trip to Tulum n to Playa Del Carmen with the Air Transat rep as April instructed. Tulum was fine as we discussed. But the trip to town was mishandled we waited 45 min for a taxi that never showed. The bellman said he would take care of it n he didn’t. We just happened to see guest services on our own n after 20 min with the Air Transat rep it was determined that tho we had negotiated 11:15 departure n return at 2 he had put down leaving at 2:15 tho our receipt said 11.15. Then he wanted us to leave at 2:15 as he had written down despite us saying we wanted to leave then. After much discussion he didn’t change it n refunded us the $10 cost. The hotel got us the cab for more money. The town was full of harassing sellers n we get it as this is their living but we started to get sellers who kept telling us that he was our server or waiter at the Paradisus which they weren’t other than 2. After the third time we realized they were reading our wrist bands. Made us feel unsafe cuz they were relentless. We left very early. Cab driver in a little put together Fiat that was awful n went thru very scary areas with little regard for stop signs. Later that nite we complained about this to the front desk asking if we could remove our bands for a trip to town. We were told there would be no charge for another one but we should have worn a cover over the bands. In 35 degree weather ?! Felt very vulnerable but they were more concerned about replacing the wrist bands n not least not interested in our security. Did not like the additional tax charge of $1 per person per nite. Insignificant amount but unaware of it. After that awful experience we did utilize the spa n its facilities with the amazing massage n facial for me. Perfect thing for the day. April told us this resort was better than anything Cuba could offer rite now n we believed her. Unfortunately the other couple we were supposed to go with did not agree n found an amazing resort the last one on the Santa Maria Island with 24 hr lobby bar as well as 4 other bars n 5 pools. Clean beach. Paradisus has no private beach n it had plants along the edge plus algae at waters edge. Couldn’t go in ocean mostly cuz very large dip down at shore n was cordoned off. Their experience in Cuba was far more enjoyable for half the cost. Our first trip to Mexico was not what I expected cuz I expected more. I may try Mexico again in the future but elsewhere n not at the Paradisus. Was not the impressive resort April made it out to be

Riu Caribe Cancun: Do not recommend

We actually paid more money to leave early - the resort was clean but the service was poor, we were stuck in a basement room, food was awful - I was sick twice and curled up in pain every time I ate here.

Iberostar Selection Cancun: Beautiful resort offering great service

The Iberostar Cancun is a beautiful hotel. Great pool and loads of palapas on the beach to provide shade for those who want it. As a golfer, I love that the hotel has a challenging course on site. The service was second to none. I am a repeat customer. My husband and I have stayed there several times and I have to say that the food quality is not what it once was. It's very quiet at night with the only entertainment being the main show, so if you love to party, this hotel is not for yo [... read more]u. Even so, I would return to this property again for the golf, the pool area and the staff who made our stay another one to remember.

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Lindo Doesn't Disappoint

Fourth trip to IB Playa Paraiso, first three were to Beach, this trip we upgraded to Lindo - worth it? Yes Food is better at Buffet, Concierges in each building make booking ala cartes a snap. We booked 4 a la cartes but actually cancelled 2 of them. The buffet selection and quality was that good. The pool at the Beach is main attraction for us, and by staying at Lindo we have access to Beach property We'll go back for sure if the price is right.
