Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Excellent Service!

This resort is beautiful! It is a very large resort and we didn't have a chance to see all of it but what we saw, we enjoyed. First, I must commend this resort for the service. It was quick and efficient. There were a couple of things that needed to be fixed when we arrived, not a big deal though. When we called the front desk, someone was at our door within five minutes. That was fantastic! The resort has a large variety of restaurants, which is good if you are staying longer than one week and  [... read more]are tired of the buffet. Our favorite restaurants were hands down the French and Mexican restaurants. We heard from some that it is sometimes hard to get reservations for the a la cartes. However, if you upgrade to Club Premium, you are pretty much guaranteed a spot. I suggest you reserve your A la cartes as soon as you arrive. The pools are nice but crowded. It was sometimes hard to find a chair around the pools. Guests wake up early to reserve a chair and then leave to do other things. How selfish and inconsiderate! I did not like that because the rest of us who wanted to stay by the pool could not find a seat. Not the resort's fault. On the beach, there are no parasols but lots of palm trees, which give some shade. The pool area, however, has a lot of shade! The beach does not have bar service, which we actually liked because we could relax without being bothered. The activities were clearly posted every day and they were fun. We highly recommend an upgrade to the Club Premium because it gives you access to all activities for free, such as the water park, which costs money without the upgrade. Also, if you are adults and you want to relax in a quieter area once in a while, the club premium gives you access to the adults only section (Barceló Bavaro Beach). If we go back, we will get the upgrade again. It was worth the extra cost. It is a great family resort. There are a lot of kids and lots for them to do. Again, if you upgrade, they have access to everything for free and unlimited. If I could make one suggestion, it would be to have the shows a little earlier. They start at 10pm and by that time, we were exhausted from the sun and travel. We were not able to make a single show in the 10 days we were there even though we honestly tried. To the guests, please tip the staff! They work hard to give us an enjoyable vacation and they deserve it. Just because it is all inclusive and your meals and drinks don't cost anything while you are there, it doesn't mean you don't tip. I was disappointed to see so little people were tipping. Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: The vacations a whole was awesome!

The food was amazing (a lot of variety). I would definitely upgrade the rooms. The people were supurbe! Everyone was friendly and helpful The beaches were magnificent The pools were great Very family friendly

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Superior Service

Staff were always friendly and helpful. Grounds were immaculate. Loved the free form pool enabling us to swim the full length of the resort at our leisure. Abundance of lounge chairs and pool floating mats. Never felt crowded because of the pool design. Loved all the food, including buffets, restaurants and beach and pool BBQ's. The evening entertainment was fantastic and exceeded our expectations. We loved our room with the beautiful view from the 3rd floor. We had no complaints at all. JOIA Bavaro by Iberostar: Excellent vacation

We were there from April 6 to 13, 2016 Check -in was efficient and quick. The rooms were well maintained and cleaning staff friendly, courteous and very helpful. The high number of beach beds and availability of towels was a welcome relief from other resorts, The food and services in the main hall as well as all the specialty restaurants was consistently of very good to excellent quality with impeccable service. The service and bar staff were always quick to cater to our wants and did not appea [... read more]r to react to tipping. One small note: at the surf and turf restaurant, forget the Caesar salad. Other that that feast away. We had the good fortune to have three butlers who each in his own way made our stay a most pleasant experience. Oscar, Rafael and Boom Boom always responded to our request with a sense of urgency. What was even more impressive is that even when things were not done immediately (which was rare), each one made it a point to let us know where they were at and their next step in meeting our requests. Mr. Pastor, the head butler, should feel good that the people he leads are well trained and so helpful. The check-out was also very efficient and we would like to thank Rafael at the front desk for keeping everything easy and simple. The leadership of the Iberostar Grand Hotel Bavaro should be proud of the competence, courtesy and friendliness of a staff that were always very helpful in making this vacation one of our best in the Caribbean's Thank you.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Beautiful & Amazing

Staffs are very friendly, rooms are well kept and clean, grounds are beautiful and the scenery are amazing. The food are excellent with a variety. The bars are great with a variety of drinks. The beach is excellent and clean and bar on the beach was excellent. The night shows at the Theatre were wonderful. The total over all of this resort is truly beautiful and amazing. I would surly visit again.

Occidental Punta Cana: Beautiful beach

Beach was beautiful, food was good , grounds clean , rooms definately need work . The light was hanging on wires , air conditioner leaked constantly , toilet didn't work properly . Was under the impression that we would have a Transat room but was not the case.

We loved everything about this resort, We have been to a lot of places but this is the first time we said we would come back to the same resort. We read a lot of review before some things were like the reviews but some things were not. You have to go to this resort to see the beauty and the worm friendly people.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Best VACATION ever!

Our second time there. Had a beautiful time..weather was perfect everyday. Staff was lovely. Food good. Had a nice room with a pool view. Met some lovely people. Drinks were delicious. We will go back soon! One glitch...our keys didn't work in the door and we had to get key cards re-keyed a couple of times. Inconvenient & very frustrating. Also when we checked out, we were given a small ticket for the shuttle which my husband misplaced. I went up to the checkout counter and requested a replaceme [... read more]nt. The large very angry bald man at the checkout counter was EXTREMELY RUDE & REFUSED TO GIVE ME ANOTHER TICKET, ranting on in Spanish. My husband went up himself and spoke to another man at the counter who gave him another shuttle ticket while the bald man screamed at him. Needless to say this ruined the ending of our trip. The staff had all been very accommodating except for this one incident. Was so upset about this, I emailed the resort. As mentioned, we'd love to go back, but have been looking at other resorts for this reason alone. Gave this resort 4 stars out of 5 due to rudeness and anger of this individual. Trip was perfect except for that. Very unfortunate.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: The times, they are a changing!

Ambar has grown! The reputation for R&R is lost in its expansion. Between cheesy thump-thump music and overly loud intoxicated adults at the pool, the beach is subjected to noise pollution no one wants, something that was never a problem during our past visits. The buffet continued to be okay, something for everyone to eat no matter how picky the eater. The wait-staff were more attentive in the upper section of seating than in other areas of the buffet. Our rooms were cleaned late every day, som [... read more]etimes close to supper hour, even when our preference was noted on a card for morning times. Wifi was iffy, but we used ours for contact in case of an emergency at home, so that wasn’t a big deal. The staff who are trying to sell time shares were still very pushy, especially because we’ve been there so often, they felt we should buy one to save money... trust me when I say there is no savings! Don’t get sucked in to that. We had to use the doctor on the resort for $185 just to have a quick visit and be referred to the hospital in the city. Another $30 for the taxi, one way. The hospital in Punta Cana was like a tourist centre as we get there to find everyone else there is also a tourist from another resort; we decided there might be a scam involved here especially when the doctors seemed very quick with a diagnosis and yet did a very poor examination. Make sure you have health insurance (we did) because they want that clarified before you are seen. It’s all about the money! I hate to say it, but we’ve likely had our last visit to this resort. It is not like it has been in the past, that ambiance and attention to detail is gone.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: IN A WORD....AWESOME!!!

This was our second trip to Punta Cana and we stayed both times at Grand Bahia. Everything was perfect, the resort, the service, the hospitality and of course the weather and surroundings. We will definitely be giving recommendations to anyone who wishes to have an amazing vacation! Thanks!

The hotel is beautiful, the grounds are extremely well kept, the food is very good. No bad comments on this resort. Staff very friendly and polite. Can't say anything negative on this resort. Would certainly go back.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: VIP only way to go.

We had an amazing experience at Be Live Grand. The amazing staff (Mercedes) upgraded us to the VIP section of the resort upon arrival. Room: Large, beautiful, renovated, air conditioning work perfect. VIP perks: 15 hours a day free wifi (one device), top shelf liquor, Private beach, private lounge, VIP breakfast buffet, plus more. The main area was quite loud and lots of activities going on. (we liked the quiet vip area). The main area reminded us of spring break. If that's what you are looking  [... read more]for, you will have a blast. Food: the main buffet was ok, not a lot of selection and for 7 days it seemed like the same food over and over. (We got tired of the same thing daily.) Everything was tasty. The restaurants available were: Japanese, Seafood, Brazilian, Mediterranean and Mexican. We went to the Japanese one night. This is the only restaurant the VIP people have to reserve. All other restaurants you can just walk in. It was good. But this is our 10th time to the DR and have had better Japanese rest. experiences at other resorts. We have seafood all the time and decided against going to the Seafood Rest. The lobster is an extra $23 USD to get and has to be ordered the day before you go. Apparently you can get the same lobster for $18 USD at the Med. Rest. but its not the same lobster as we are used to in Atlantic Canada so we passed. We did go to the Brazilian 2 times. It was delicious. They serve you different types of meat that has been cooked on a skewer. (Turkey, steak, chicken etc.) plus have a salad buffet which also serves soup and a few other hot items. The only thing we like at the Med rest. was the stuffed chicken. You cant go wrong. We aren't fans of Mexican food so we didn't get to that one either. The only issue we had with the food was the overall service with at the buffet. You have to wait which seemed like forever to get any drinks, new clean utensils and plates etc. I have NEVER been to a resort where i had to wait more then a few seconds for anything. This resort in our minds failed in this area. Over all the staff were very helpful (besides the buffet). As we have said before this is our 10th time and have been to different resorts each time. I would rate this resort an overall 3.5 star. 4 with the VIP.

Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana: Beautiful resorts but needs some changes

Beautiful hotel, grounds and rooms very very clean! Beach is pristine and beautiful Pools were great but busy in regular pool Preferred pool is so much better and the bar drinks are definitely nicer too. Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Clean & lush resort!!

the grounds are amazing - beautifully landscaped and maintained. staff are friendly and courteous and always there to serve you. The beach is clean and safe with minimal vendors bothering you. staff are always there to serve drink both at pool and beach. There could be more beach chairs and pool chairs if I was to find a fault.

Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Grand palladium Bavaro

The resort was very good !! The grounds were very well kept and the rooms were cleaned accordingly ... I have to say that the service was hit and miss .... I was kinda surprised because the last time I was there the service was impeccable .... The food was awesome ... It didn't matter which restaurant you went to .... Overall the resort was by far one of the best hotels I've been to

After many trips to different resorts we believe this is the best resort we've been to, our room was great and taken care of every day.We got a cabana chairs each morning at the beach with the drinks being served.the pool in the afternoon and pool bar was just fantastic.

The resort was absolutely beautiful, beautiful landscape, great food and the workers were very kind and thoughtful. The beach was great! No rocks and no seaweed. The rooms were nice and cozy and our fridge was always stocked!

Breathless Punta Cana Resort: Spectacular Service levels

The Resort had everything you would expect and more...accomodations, culinary offerings, service, beach, pools, grounds , activities, nightly entertainment..... Did I say Service, it was exceptional!!

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Very good resort

The hotel and grounds are immaculate, the beach is glorious. Hotel and grounds are very large and fortunately have excellent transport around the hotel. Lots to do for kids. Only complaint the bathroom looked a little tired.

Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Would go back again, Great time

Resort was between 4.5 and 5. The room was big and bed was comfy. Buffet food was very good with some thing for everyone. Steak House was awesome. Grounds spectacular. Clean Beach with lots of chairs.
