Riu Tequila: Simple vacation

Riu Tequila is a slightly older resort and it's age really presents in the accommodations. Not that the rooms were unbearable, because who's actually spending that much time in them anyways?, however the beds were very uncomfortable an made for long nights and early mornings. The location of this resort was great. It's tucked away in a gated community that really makes you feel safe. The beach can only be accessed through the sister hotel Riu Yucatan. The walk to the beach isn't too long (maybe  [... read more]10 mins) and is completely shaded. Worth noting that the gates to the walkway lock at 11:00 pm, so a night beach visit always required some quick runs back. The best part of Riu Tequila is the food. There are not many restaurants to choose from but what is available is always delicious, including the buffet. Staff are very friendly and willing to help in anyways possible. The resort grounds are nice. It has more of a forest type feel rather than a beach resort. There are many animals on the premise including cats and cootes!! The pool is very small and the pool bar was always crowded. However there is bar in the lunch area that is only a few steps away. The nightly entertainment was disappointing. Often it was shows filled with amateur dancers an very revealing outfits. The Yucatan seemed to have better entertainment. Daytime entertainment wasn't anything special either. Most people were at the beach during the day so there was not many groups of activities taking place. Although there always seemed to be a game of bingo going on. Overall the resort was satisfying and provided a relaxing vacation, although If you are beach people then I suggest staying at the Yucatan and saving yourself long walks after tired days.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Huge Super Clean Resort

Just me and my 2 boys (age 14 and 17) made the trip.The rooms where very clean and nice .They had a cot/bed all set up when we got there so we each had our oun bed.Room service was amazing. The resort is Huge.We only saw about half of it.Really easy to get loungers at the beach anytime of the day.The snorkelling was great right off the beach. I heard a restaurant review once that said if you want to know how clean the kitchens are ,look at the bathroom.The bathrooms everywhere are the cleanest [... read more] I have ever seen.The food was fantastic. Dreams Sapphire Resort and Spa: Amazing quick vacation

We went to now sapphire for 3 nights 4 days and had a great time ! Huge pool and excellent service . Food was good ! Overall my first impression of Mexico was amazing and I would recommend going here to anyone that was looking for a great destination

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Great food

This was honestly the most beautiful all inclusive resort I've been to. Food is better quality than the keg. Even the buffet as everyone else says is unreal. They have every thing except for lobster, crab and scallops which is understanding. The cooks at te buffet will cook anything for you fresh from prawns to steak chicken lamb duck tuna steaks... I got the petit fillet but have choice of cut u want. Beach grill ( Caribbean) open for lunch and dinner. Loved the clam chowder for lunch but who eats soup in Mexico right? Me my goodness was it flavorful and the clams were so fresh and tender. You could get a lobster there for Lunch at an extra charge but get this, you get a lobster tail for FREE at dinner as its on the menu. That made my trip right there. Italian restaurant great menu as well beef tenderloin calamari, wood stove oven pIzza. I mean even the sports bar had great food . Can't say anything bad about the food and if you can you're way too picky. Even if u did have a bad experience at a restaurant go to the buffet after and satisfy for you're belly. The beach, ya some days it was more beautiful than others and yes there is some seaweed but not much and it's white sand has palm trees and an infinite lookout into the horizon. Plus servers come out to your lounge and get you drinks. What more could ask for. Bars everywhere except for maybe near kids pool but that being for a good reason.the have medelo, corona and deixsecies? On tap and all the liquor were premium. Unreal

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Maya Suites: Amazing resort and vacation

Overall a great resort vacation from the flight, hotel transfers and the resort itself. More than enough things to do and see at the resort for adults and kids. My son loved the kids club program. The dive shop at the resort was a bonus for getting in some great diving. The a la carte restaurants were great and food selection and quality was also great at the buffet restaurants. Pool choices were plentiful, and staff were very accommodating to help out. The resort is also fairly close to t [... read more]he airport so the bus ride is not long once you arrive. El Dorado Royale: Amazing honeymoon retreat

Beautiful resort, Loved every second of the beach, pools bars, and restaurants. Staff were so pleasant and willing to accommodate you in anyway they can. Food was phenomenal and exceeded our expectations. Our room was gorgeous although a/c was very hard to regulate and we were on the top floor so next time I think we'd prefer a ground floor room.Just a couple complaints, the first one while 24 hrs room service sounds great in theory we were very disappointed on the length of time it took to get  [... read more]it. It took 2 hrs for us to get a cheese plate and fruit platter. We also tried to order room service for lunch one day and I was on hold for 30 min and never go anyone to place our order. While most restaurants are always accessible it would have been nice to enjoy room service in our rooms. The second complaint I had was we were not informed by anyone at the hotel that our shuttle pickup and flight times had changed. We spent an hr waiting in the hotel lobby and asked a few people until finally we found out our flight was delayed their for so was our pick up time. It would have been nice to have known so we would have planned to not check out and enjoy more beach time. Neither of these things ruined our trip by any means and we would definitely come back to this hotel. A Paradise Oasis for us it was!

Grand Sunset Princess: So beautiful

The grand sunset princess is such a beautiful, big resort. The staff do such a great job on maintaining the grounds and they are so friendly. I really enjoyed the options they had for food and all the different types of a la carte restaurants. I am very happy that Teresa recommended this hotel to my friends and I.

Riu Tequila: Great Resort

This resort was one of the better Riu resorts that I have been to. My main complaint with most resorts is the food but I have no complaints just praises for the Tequila. I am a very fussy eater with a sensitive tummy but I had no trouble finding foods that I not only liked but enjoyed. We did go to the beach everyday because the pool water was like a warm bath & not refreshing at all. The beach was beautiful & the walk or short ride was not a problem. We did encounter a problem with the line up  [... read more]for the beach shuttle as their is no control over the clueing process so many rude people just rushed up & got on before those of us waiting in line. This needs to be addressed as it can be very annoying & that is not what vacations are all about. The rooms were dated & a bit musty smelling. There rooms & resort in general were well attended too & clean. Bed & pillows were comfortable. All in all a perfect spot.

Hyatt Vivid Playa Del Carmen: More than we were expecting.

We booked 8 days at The Royal Playa Del Carmen. The reviews raving about the facility were well warranted! Lovely pool, clean, exemplary staff, lovely beach and the restaurants were way beyond our expectations. Great location, nearby excursions.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Such an amazing resort!

Our stay at the Luxury Bahia Príncipe Don Pablo Akumal was amazing. Everything from the food, to the rooms, to the customer service was excellent, we had no complaints. The resort is beautiful and all of the staff were extremely friendly and happy to help with any questions we had.

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Great 7 days

Very satisfied with service and the hotel It was low season but restaurants were fully staffed and food was exceptional. Never had issues with booking....make sure you eat at the French and Italian you won't be disappointed Only one criticism was that smoking and E-cigarettes at the pool is allowed,

Catalonia Playa Maroma: Had a great week

My wife and I arrived at the Catalonia on September 4 for a week of relaxation...It didn't happen. It was our 34th anniversary. The first night there was a beach party...we danced all night. Good start to our vacation, and the rest of the week got better. There was a party in the lobby one night, Karaoke another. There was a pool party with a form machine and more dancing in the pool. The staff is what makes this resort. You can relax on the amazing Maroma beach or you can dance all week long. A [... read more]s I stated it was our anniversary, the hotel sent us cake and champagne to our room. We were surprised. The food is good but I must warn you when going to the Mexican restaurant, be sure to bring bug spray, this is a green resort, meaning that it in the middle of the rain-forest and Mexican restaurant is outdoors. The bugs are a bet annoying after a rainfall but other then that...It's fine. This was our 7th time in Mexico and I liked the fact that this is a small resort, only 400 room. It has something for everyone. We had such a great time that we need another vacation...just to relax.

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Amazing Vacation

We have just had an amazing week here, traveled Sept. 3 - Sept 11. This was 3rd visit, to the Riviera Maya first time at the Grana Palladium What Can I Say : "IT WAS A PARADISE" Hotel This resort is huge it is made up of at least 4 resorts, where you can move around in 3 of them. but once you get your bearings it easy to navigate around. Within the 3 resorts you can move around in there are large pools with great swim up bars and then there are scattered smaller Adult Only pools. Ther [... read more]e are plenty of trains to take you around the resorts where the maximum wait time between trains is 15 min. The beach is only a 5 minute walk. The rooms are large and spacious and amenities are great. Tea/coffee facilities and mini bar constantly stocked with water, beer, coke ,fanta and sprite. The grounds are immaculate and maintained constantly by the army of gardeners. BEACH The Beach is beautiful, with nice white sand and clear blue water. There were enough sun loungers available, even with the resort as full as it was. The Beach although is very long many parts of it are very rocky with few areas where to swim a bit full of people, but the rocky areas are absolutely great for snorkeling right there on the beach The 24 hour snack bar is on the Beach right next the bar which is also open 24 hours. FOOD BUFFET- The buffet was GREAT! Lots of choices, you would never go hungry. There is all kinds of options with mostly an international selection, only downside is that Mexican food is a bit scarce. A LA CARTES We did the following....... Mexican This was a great simple and elegant restaurant to go to. Japanese The tepenyanki show table is a must. The show was good, it was entertaining and involved all at the table helping us make friends with those at the table. Overall, we had the most AMAZING time We will definitely be back...... The customer service is exceptional Thank you. The staff is great the customer service at this hotel is above and beyond and we will be returning in a few years to annoy you all again! Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Beautiful resort, Great Service!

This was our first time to Mexico and we were not disappointed. The resort was amazing, and had all the amenities you could need. The food was fantastic and offered a large variety. The a la cartes were fantastic as well.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: AMAZING RESORT 5*

We were greeted upon arrival with cocktails. We requested King Size on the 4th floor and that is exactly what we received. The room was amazing. Some of the best food. We had the romantica package on the beach for dinner, very delicious! Beach was small but who cares, there were many pools. If you wanted to go swimming, there was a lagoon with a really strong current 7 min walk to the (north east). Entertainment was poor... kind of wish they had a disco. Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Honeymoon Resort

My husband and I had our honeymoon at this resort and we we very happy with our decision to come here. It's a smaller resort compared to others I've been to but we liked how intimate and accessible everything was (while still providing some walking for exercise :P). The pools were not that amazing but the clear waters and scuba diving with turtles more than made up for it. The food was fantastic. TIP: Learn some simple Spanish phrases before going (we had a lot of fun practicing our Spanish while we we there :)

Riu Tequila: Great resort

The resort was very charming beautiful not too big not too small beautiful settings very nice resort The food was excellent and the service was nice the resort itself was very Mexican architecture which made the resort looks very nice compared to some of the resorts that we were visiting nearby they were newer but didn't have the Mexican so my reckoning mandation would be would go back excellent resort

Akumal Beach Resort: ABBWR For families of all ages,

Akumal Bay Beach and Wellness Resort (ABBWR) is for couples and families of all ages. It is not a party palace or a disco. If you are looking for solitude or a quiet place, go to the south end of the of the beach, it is great for couples! It has a gorgeous long sand beach on a reef protected bay. Fabulous snorkeling. This is the home of endangered giant sea turtles. you can see them year round in the bay. May through November you can see them nesting or hatching. The staff will treat you like [... read more] royalty. I have been there twice and have yet to eat in all the specialty restaurants. The food in the main buffet is great with a large variety. Of course you can have your eggs and omlette any way you want them but you will need to tear yourself away from the champagne and smoked salmon. The only short comings is a lack of easily available information about the turtles and the only person who does not speak English is the resident marine biologist.. There are numerous bars and even beach chair service, all included. If you make the ten minute walk north up the beach to the village, take some pesos, as there are numerous stores, both souvenirs and local crafts. You can also buy anything you forgot or run out of. I have been there twice and my better half, tells me we are going back. That is a trip I will gladly do..

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Amazing resort

The hotel is clean and tidy. The breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets were awesome. The restaurants for dinner in the evening were excellent and service was exemplary. There is a lot of entertainment for kids and am sure kids would not be bored here.
