Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great, clean, staff friendly resort

Amazing environment, clean, kids friendly. Food was good...not great. Kid's splash/slide pool was awesome! Shuttle bought us everywhere in the resort that we needed. The Cenote Snorkeling tour is a MUST try.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Amazing resort

This was our first time in Mexico and we had an awesome time and we can see why people are return visitors to the area. Our hotel room was always clean, the staff very friendly and helpful and the resort overall was very impressive. The al la Carte were all good except for the Cajun night which seemed totally disorganized and our server totally forgot about our meals. We never struggled over where to eat at any time of the day. Best to book your al la carte as soon as you arrive if possible so as not to be disappointed. This was a tip we read off Trip Advisor website and there was a number of topics which we also found useful during our stay. We had initially booked to be in the Paraiso Beach but our initial agent was retiring and didn't tell us that not ALL restaurants were available to us if we'd stayed at the Beach and it wasn't till I spoke with a second agent who took over our file who advised us and we subsequently upgraded to the Lindo. We succumbed to greed and did the supposedly 1 1/2 hr presentation/breakfast for the Iberostar Plan....we'd been assured it would only be 90 mins and if it wasn't for us we could leave. We were too polite and finally at the end I had to firmly put an end to it in order for them to stop coming back with another offer to keep us there!. We used the voucher from this painful experience to enjoy a great morning snorkeling.

Grand Riviera Princess: Beautiful spot

This Tesort was massive ... A 10 min walk from Lobby to beach or a shuttle to take you. The "kids /teen club is really geared to young children... Kids over the age of 10 likely won't use the amenities. The hotel should have a tween and teen club ... My kids 10,12,16 all spend their evenings at the sports bar where they could order nachos and fries over a game of pool ! There were to a of kids their age doing the same. We had to move rooms the first night as our room smelled horribly musty. [... read more].. While the hotel accommodated the change we had to check out of our room by noon and were without a room until 3pm... A huge inconvenience. Many of the pools had tiles that were loose at the bottom of the pool. But the pools were otherwise large and very clean. There was little information on night life and we only really managed to catch one evening show... In our welcome package the hotel should have done better to say what was happening each night. The food was great having the swim out pool was amazing and I'm the kids club we had our own bartender who even made icecream for the kids !

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: AMAZING RESORT!!!!

This was our first time to visit Mexico boy oh boy have we been missing out!! The resort, the service, the room and the food were simply amazing. I would highly suggest anyone wanting a fantastic holiday please visit this resort you will not be disappointed!!! Ocean Maya Royale: Great Trip

Great hotel. Smaller in size, so there was no need for shuttles. Staff was great, very friendly and helpful. Food was very good, no reservations needed, so we ate at the al a carte every night. Need more shade at the pools and ocean. All and all, I would recommend this resort to any of my friends.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: Exceptional Hotel

Our stay from August 20-27, was wonderful. We celebrated our 25th Anniversary while there. The hotel sent champagne and strawberries to our room that day. That night at dinner the sample was covered in rose petals and more champagne. Above and beyond.

We were stoned by the size of the pools and generally the hotels, you feel like in a small city, no need to go outside; plenty of things for kids to do; people extremely nice everywhere at the hotel. Great food.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Pleasantly surprised!

One of best resorts we have been to for food and service. The staff were friendly, attentive and hard working. The food at the buffets and the a la carte restaurants was very good. The grounds were well maintained and very lush. The beach was not as bad as many people made out, we spent every day there. The pools are nice, but the one at the beach needs maintenance. The rooms were well appointed and well kept. Our only real complaint were the mosquitoes which we realize are part of an Eco-friend [... read more]ly resort, but bothersome just the same and potentially a health threat.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Very Bad Resort

The hotel has the following that was not upto the standard 1:The lobby and the Dining area's AC units were never turned on .The fans were not ever turned on. 2:The pool was very dirty . I just contracted blood sepsiss. 3:The pool side bar had one server and to get a drink you had to wait for hour or 40 mins 4:we were charged 5 star price but there was no pool side service in this resort. 5:The rooms were so far away that we had to walk about 10-15 mons bothways.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Average resort

Grounds and public areas were well kept Living quarters were average. We paid top dollar but were housed in the older part of the resort away from most of the resort life. Public hallways were dirty and not well kept. I was woken several times (In the middle of the night and in the early morning hrs by rowdy and noisy guests. Food at buffets was average. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Food at specialty restaurants was at a higher level then the buffet. Staff was efficient and friendly. [... read more] Hard workers. Perhaps overworked. Hotel reception not very accommodating when informed that they had assigned us a different type of room than requested. Three families, but we were not housed next to each other even though we booked a year in advance.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Super happy staff! Incredible food!

Surprised by quality of food. French restaurant is the best by far! Staff is super friendly and nice about everything. Beach and pool are clean and refreshing. Pool is a little warm and the breeze at the beach is much more enjoyable. Shows and entertainment are great, we didn't do a whole lot, mostly relaxed.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Awesome resort!

The food at the buffet had great varieties everyday, à la carte Alux Sian Kian a must in the evening. The premium alcohol served at night are splendid. The staff are great entertainers and keeping people active. There's a transportation every 10 minutes from our hotel to the beach not once we waited long. Hotel overall professionally maintained and beautiful junior suite room fridge filled everyday with alcohol included. Highly recommend excursions such as Xcaret late night show Tulum&Jungle Maya for a real adventure and for culture wonder of the world Chichen Itza.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Good times in Mexico

Pros: This is a beautiful hotel on huge and lush grounds. The rooms were clean and spacious, loved the large stand up shower. Each suite has a balcony or outdoor space. Safe is provided free of charge. There is a shuttle that runs throughout the resort. The food is absolutely amazing! The Mexican fare at the Mexican a la carte is authentic, freshly prepared and delicious! The pool by the beach is busy, full of activities, it is large and beautiful. The pool by buildings 6,7,8 is more quiet and  [... read more]private. There are deer, coati, capybaras and iguanas that roam the resort. Cons: the wifi is not great, cuts in and out and is limited to one device per room. It was really difficult for our family to communicate when trying to find each other throughout this large resort without reliable wifi. if you're looking for a spectacular beach this is not the place for you. The beach was just ok. Quite rocky and not the beautiful turquoise blue you expect from the Caribbean. Really liked the swing bar, where you sit on swings and order your drinks. The resort is really large and requires a lot of walking if you don't want to wait for the shuttle. Also, there is no swim up bar. Highly recommend the excursion to XCaret park.

Breathless Riviera Cancun: Amazing resort

Loved it. The service was great. Entertainment in day time and evening was fun. The food and drinks were really good. Would love to go back again. The staff was very friendly and memorable. We're able to make good friends with them . Well never forget them.

Resort was average in many aspects.Food was ok, but difficult to find something to eat late at night.Enjoyed the bbq by the pool area.Nice not to have to dry off and cover up for the dining room.Ice cream outside the main pool area would have been nice too.The steak house was unbearably hot, so it was difficult to enjoy the great steak.The Italian dinner was amazing.The best service we got, anywhere on the resort.We were a party of 10 and everyone tried to accommodate us. We were not pleased wi [... read more]th our room.We requested 2 beds but got a queen.They could not find us one till possibly the nexr day.We unpacked and stayed where we were.We had a terrible view of trees, whereas our daughter, who was put away from us, had a pool view.The room was cleaned very late in the day, sometimes at 5pm we had to wait to change for dinner.They were very quick to fix the broken lock on our patio doors.They did not always pick up the dirty towels off the floor orleave us a bathmat. The main pool was gorgeous.The bridges were great for getting some shade while still being in the water.Lounges were always readily available. The beach was nice but the water was not.I did not go in. The animation team was not overly friendly or visible.The shows were amatuerish at best.We are used to a higher caliber of performance, having been on many cruise ships.The clientele at the resort was mostly Spanish.They were catered to much more than the Englidh-speaking guests.They were also very loud and rude. r.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Lovely resort.

August 13-20/2016. Barceló Maya Colonial The best food and show was at the Japanese restaurant. The appetizers, tempura shrimp and veggie sushi, were very tasty. The surf and turf, steak and lobster, were cooked to perfection. The Mexican restaurant was very good. However, it took very long to get the food. Shrimp and lobster were mushy, not under cooked, not over cooked but mushy. The disco was fun and played every type of music. From Bon Jovi to Rihanna and the dance versions of the songs. We did not go to see any of the theatre/night shows. Every washroom on the resort was clean, had toilet paper, and soap. The buffet at the Caribe had more selection and hotter food then our buffet at the Colonial. I liked the fact that we could eat and drink at the sister resorts, except the Palace. The double decker bus was convenient in taking us to all the resort lobbies. The mall was impressive. Bowling, casino, haunted house, stores, water slides, etc. Bowling and haunted house was $15 US per person. Extreme Elevator was $10 US per person. I was disappointed that there was no free Wifi except at one end of the mall between 10 am - 1 pm. All the staff were friendly and helpful. A few that stood out were; Carlos Ortis at the Caribe breakfast buffet, Sandra, our maid/house keeping, Roberto at the piano bar, Hugo at the front desk of the Colonial, and Marco aka Mark Anthony at the pool bar, across from the Captain Morgan buffet. The resort may need more staff. Sometimes the pool bars and buffet wait staff were busy and took a long time to serve us. One dangerous thing to point out is the drips of water from the air condition in the Caribe buffet. The staff was always mopping up because the floor was extremely slippery. Our safe did not work and was replaced within 20 mins of us informing the front desk. Same with a blown light bulb in our washroom. Over all we had a wonderful time and would go back.

Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya: Nice resort

Pools were great. Food great at dinner but breakfast and lunch buffets so-so. Beach is great for kids, no waves. Staff is amazing, so friendly and helpful. Did not go to heaven side at all but would've liked to try gym and spa. Only complaints would be the noise...very loud music and speakers during the day at the pool and tge entertainment at night was really loud too. Hard to enjoy when it hurts your ears.

Dreams Jade Resort and Spa: Nice Resort

The resort was clean and well staffed, the room was good but not great, the bathroom had mould on the tile and was starting to show age, not the same quality as my past experience at the Dreams Tulum. The food was excellent and the waiters were fantastic. The grounds were in excellent shape and the beach areas well groomed and looked after, the beach and ocean was good except for low tide where there was an excessive amount of seaweed but not at the hotels control. Same vendors 3 time in a week selling the same old stuff.Hotel shops were expensive like everywhere but cheaper than I expected. $12 US for a bag of Lays chips...yikes. Overall a nice hotel but far from a 5*

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Absolutely stellar vaca!

The entire resort was like a dream. Immaculate. Lush and tropical. Superior staff took every possible opportunity to make our trip wonderful. Great rooms. Amazing food...we couldn't sample the ample restaurants in our 8 night stay. It was the best ever vacation with tons of activities throughout. Topnotch

Riu Tequila: Riu Tequila

last week I stayed at Riu Tequila Riviera Maya and I'm very happy with the hotel. The food was perfect and the beach is gorgeous!!! I would recommend this hotel to anyone!!! The day and night time performance was exceptional!!!
