Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Beautiful resort

The staff were very friendly, food was delicious, service was great! The only thing I did not like was the beach. It was very rocky and not clear blue as you would imagine a tropical destination. But about 10 mins walk away the beach is nicer. Overall it was nice. A long way from the airport in cancun! 1.5 hours.

Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: Great, Relaxing Holiday!

Staff were wonderful - very attentive. Juan in Housekeeping was amazing and left us with incredible towel creations each day. Our concierge, Jose was very friendly and helpful. Katerin, our wait-staff at the beach was very sweet. I have no idea how she managed to lug those huge trays around the beach in the hot sun!! The food was amazing. My favourites were Blue Hawaii, Flying Gorilla and of course, Margaritas. Went on the Cenote Maya excursion. It was lots of fun and I even managed to rappel into the Cenote! Our tour guide, Nicolas, was amazing. I highly recommend this excursion booked through Transat. Rooms were spacious and cleaned thoroughly every day. Mini-bar was replenished daily although the fridge was not overly cold. Lots of amazing wildlife - iguanas, coatis, racoons, fish at the beach. The beach was very pretty. It was quite rocky in some spots but you could pick your way through the rocks and reach the soft sand. Loved this place!

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Your average all-inclusive.

Everything was average. The food was average. The service was average. The ambiance was average. The rooms were average. The shows were average to mediocre. The sand was lovely but the water was rough, dirty and murky. Gorgeous shower in the room. Issues in our room we cleared up the same day (broken hairdryer, broken bed...). Plentiful a la carte bookings. Front desk was always pleasant and helpful. No real problems or negatives, but nothing really amazing either. Deco was on the mo [... read more]dern side, which lacked the Caribbean feel to it. Animation staff was nice enough but yet detached from the guests.

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: “Amazing Gluten free resort for family”

My wife and I stayed at Azul Fives in the begging of August for 7 days along with our 13 and 16 year old daughters. Our eldest daughter was diagnosed with Celiac Disease about a year before our trip and we were so nervous. We were extremely concerned about her dietary restrictions along with the factor of 'cross-contamination'. However, our experience at Azul fives was truly unforgettable. Each and every restaurants had gluten free options on all of their menus. When we first checked into the hotel they sent an email to all of the restaurants informing them of our daughters allergy which was extremely helpful. As soon as she identify her gluten allergy, we were able to meet with the chef of each kitchen to walk us thought the buffet or to go over the menu in detail for safe choices with no hesitation. They would also prepare separate meats, gluten free pasta and even had amazing dessert options all prepared gluten free. Our favorite stop at lunch was Oriola which was right by the main pool and beach. They had many gluten free options including tacos, seafood, salads and many more. If at Oriola we always made sure to look for David! He was always so welcoming and was well aware of her diet. Her favorite dinner place was Arezzo, an Italian cuisine which had an amazing gluten free white sauce pasta. All of the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay at Azul fives. The main pool by the beach had many fun activities each day such as water/land volleyball, Jenga, Connect Four, Inflatable bull rides, water aerobics, dance routines and many more. Our favorite pool was in between Villa 15 & 16. It had the most shade which was great. At night they had many different shows at the sky bar or near the front of the hotel. In the end, our trip was an extremely memorable and safe trip for the entire family!! thank you :)

Riu Tequila: Riu Tequila

Last week I stayed at the Riu Tequila Riviera Maya and I am very happy with the hotel. The food was perfect and the beach is gorgeous!! I would recommend this hotel to anyone!!! The day and night time performance was exceptional!!

Everything was exceptional to the highest extent. The rooms are huge, clean, and close to pools, bars and entertainment. The beach was beautiful and the best part is being able to use two other resorts while in the same vicinity. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Excellent stay!

Great food, pool options, restaurants, service and a beautiful resort. Room amenities were kept well stocked and rooms clean. Highly recommend! There is also an awesome place to snorkel or swim 5minutes left on the beach.

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Amazing

This resort is awesome!! We stayed for 7 nights, wish we stayed longer. People are awesome, bartenders know what they are doing!! Very clean, friendly, beautiful. I don't know what else to say!! Only part that could have been better is explaining the restaurants

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Amazing vacation

We had an amazing stay in Grand Esmerelda. Staff was so courteous and food was simply amazing. Restaurant à la carte were delicious. Beach was ok, we had to walk 5 mins either sides of the resort to get better spot. But since the pool was so ginormous, it's not like we were running out of options. Rooms were nice, but we had an issue with a leaking sealing, the safe and the A/C... Overall, we had an amazing vacation and would go back anytime

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Amazing Resort

We spent 10 days at this resort and loved every minute of it. The resort is very clean and our room was more then we expected. There is always something going on to keep you busy or you can just relax and do nothing. Both the pool and the beach were the nicest we've seen in the Mayan. This was our 4th resort in the Mayan and we will definitely go back to the Valentin.

Beautiful resort, constant maintenance to keep the condition of the resort, and to keep it spotless, amazing food, tortilla / authentic tacos are the best, great variety of choices. Staff in dining room is hit or miss, most are helpful.

El Dorado Royale: Best All Inclusive vacation yet!

This resort is huge and so beautiful !! But so spread out you feel very comfortable wherever you go. Lots of good food at many restaurants and plenty of bars spread out so you are never far from food and drink. The jacuzzi suite was very large with a balcony and big shower with lots of pressure and hot water. Beds were so comfortable with all amenities in room we needed. Only downfall is the beach "view" due to all the large sand bags that look like whales and the triangle shaped concrete blocks in the ocean . They are there in order to rebuild the sandy beach and grow a coral reef which was destroyed a few years ago by a storm. The good thing is it creates a calm swimming and wading area closest to the beach since the blocks and sand bags are a break wall for big waves, the sand was perfect with straw umbrella stands for shade and lots of loungers. We enjoyed it very much, pictures of the beach are less pleasing. Food was excellent and staff were great. I would highly recommend this resort for newlyweds and middle aged couples. Not the greatest if you want a party atmosphere, more for relaxing and having a good time. We will return!

We had a rough start with airline delays and room chaos arrangements but once we got moved on the 2nd day we loved the resort, location pools, beach... Everything was fantastic, we would recommend it and would go back!

All was great, but not enough care in providing gluten free meals - caused some serious distress. An elevator was down for the 8 days and we had to walk to the third floor all the time which resulted in a fall on the stairs. Other than that the rest of the time was enjoyed.

Arrived at hotel three hours late due to Airtransat. First assigned room was already occupied. Second room only had one bed even though I was assured by the front desk that it would have two beds. Third room was in villa #18, on the third floor with a broken elevator. The elevator didn't get fixed during our week stay and the villa was the furthest from the beach. Also enjoyed the construction next door as they are building two new villas next to villa 18. Food was ok but not as good as food pro [... read more]vided during excursions by other companies/facilities. Staff were the best part, nice and friendly. Room was cleaned daily but shower didn't drain properly, so it overflowed several times. Never received the welcome gift but I guess they didn't know where to send it. Lastly we were approached by a sales person about purchasing a time share and given hand out about time shares available even after we we said we were not interested. Seriously disappointed!

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Recent stay at Bahia Principe Mexico

We recently returned from a one week stay at this amazing resort. As with the last time we stayed there; it was exceptionally. We have travelled to many all-inclusives and this by far is one of the best. The private beach area is now bigger and nicer ( lots of space, chairs etc.). The trolleys run continually. We never waited more than a few minutes. The food was exceptional both at the buffet and a la carte restaurants. Use of the other three hotels (Akumal, Tulum, Coba) on this complex just a [... read more]dded to the enjoyment. Every employee we encountered was a joy to deal with. They were helpful, courteous, friendly and genuinely seemed very happy in their work. I would highly recommend this hotel or any of the four in the Bahia Principe Complex.

We enjoyed this hotel.food was above average and so was our room. Grounds were well kept. The one comment I have is that the beach chairs are not very comfortable and they should invest into something a bit more quality.

Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya: Quiet Resort for Mature Couples

Air Canada lost my luggage for 4 days with no explanation and very poor customer service. In fact, they have termed their telephone reps as "customer relations". That says it all. It obviously tainted my holiday. The hotel is beautiful. Hotel employees are polite and amiable. The food at the a la cartel restaurants was very good - better than majority of resorts although you will wait for a table if you dine after 7 pm. Thanks to Victor, Paola, Carlos, our regular waiters and JDD - good concierge.

Royal Hideaway Playacar: Amazing

We just returned from the Royal Hideaway. It was our third and best!!! Everything was amazing. Food/room/pool but the staff were unreal. The staff make your entire vacation There wasn't anything you can fault at the RH Cannot wait to go back

Surprise Escapes: Upscale amazing resort

Not many negatives for this resort. Beautifully decorated, with lots of detail to amenities and care towards the customer. A one stop resort with everything you could possibly want. Casino, or gelato, shopping or diving, disco or watching the latest game on big screen, they have it all. Gourmet meal, or outstanding buffet.... Now the negatives, service. Very few places impressed with customer service. Most of them were very slow to respond, or did not seem to understand what was asked of t [... read more]hem, yes they tried, and yes they seemed to have a lot of staff on hand, but no it wasn't enough. I personally was very disappointed with the service I received, especially at the steakhouse (Hunter) restaurant 2nd year in a row. When one of your own staff member says, this is a 5 star resort but unfortunately we don't yet have 5 star service, you know that there is something wrong. If and when the service improves, this will truly be an outstanding resort.
