Blau Natura Park Resort: Wonderful Experience

I was more than pleased about the resort/people/service/room. I walked into this paradise and was wonderfully surprised. I was given the model suite as they are renovating rooms - it was beautiful/warm and inviting. The people could not have been more friendly or hospitable - nothing was too much for them. The resort had many species of birds within the park. The birds were not afraid of people and whould anxiously feed from your hand. The food - where do I start - steak house/Italian/seafood,and the buffets were amazing. I can say the best food I have had at a resort in a long time. I would recommend this resort to anyone as it was beyond expectations. I would rate it as a 4+++. I will be returning. WONDERFUL TIME...GREAT VACATION. A satisfied guest.

Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Amazing Staff

The grounds, public areas, dining facilities are amazing. The grounds are kept in such great condition, nothing out of place and the entire facility is spotless. We did not encounter any unwanted little creatures, dust bunnies, cob webs anywhere - truly a joy!!!We had an problem initially with the room first assigned to us but it was resolved quickly by the hotel manager and his staff. The beach is beautiful, the food is amazing - great variety and abundance. Many rooms have already been up-dated, so when this is completed it will certainly be above all expectations. Occidental Punta Cana: Good food, amazing beach, dated rooms

The beach was breathtaking. The food was good and the rooms were dated. Our biggest complaints have more to do with transat than the resort. Our inbound flight was delayed 3 hours and on our return flight we were left on the plan for 45 min waiting for take off with no AC. I am still surprised no one passed out. The flight staff both ways were significantly less than friendly. And our on site Transat reps...well I could write a an entire review about them alone. They were less helpful ( and more [... read more] pushy sales reps) than the resort staff themselves. Unless you went to see them to purchase something all you got was "come back later" (when they had more time to pressure you into selling something, NOT fix the problem!)

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Resort was truly amazing

I have not one complaint to make about my holiday. It was 100%. It was so good all round. Great food. I have never met such lovely people.really helpful and always smiling.lt was a holiday of a lifetime for me.l felt safe and very comfortable. The staff would go out of their way to help. Nothing was a problem.

Caribe Deluxe Princess: Not even close to a four star

The staff are great at this resort, but it is missing 4 star things like decent shower, proper around the pool washrooms, not running out of towels, stocking minibar with beer as well as water and pop etc...

Grand Palladium Palace: Kilometre long white sand beach

My husband and I booked a loft suite at the Grand Palladium Palace and got a free upgrade to the Royal Suites Turquesa, the Adult only side! With the upgrade, it included 24 hour room service, free WiFi, butler to book a la cartes and fix issues, exclusive restaurants, plus free reign all over the Grand Palladium Complex in Punta Cana!! As we could use the whole resort, we tried out the buffets at the other complexes.Food is excellent everywhere! Fantastic beach, one kilometer long! Lots of beac [... read more]h bars along this stretch so take your insulated mug and enjoy! Personally, I didn't enjoy the dark rum in my drinks, so I requested white rum in my drinks and they tasted much better. Awesome Miami Vice drinks from the bartender at the Brazilian/Japanese A la carte bar! Shopping was a bit expensive at the on-site stores. There is one shopping strip at the Palace and one at the Bavaro, plus one in the lobby at the Bavaro. Cash machine is in the lobby of the Bavaro, I was able to use my Canadian Debit card, We never went to any of the theater shows, but did the beach party. We really enjoyed the patio lounge at the Palace in the evenings. The massages were expensive, but we explained we were Canadian and they dropped the couples massage price down to 90 US each. There is a secret Adult pool between the Palace and Royal side that is awesome. It has a heated pool and is open very late. My husband and I both loved it here and can't wait to go back!!

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Beautiful Resort

This resort is beautiful!! It is larger than I expected. There is no space between each of the resorts so it feels like one huge resort. Some items in rooms were missing or inconsistent like face cloths, spoons, coffee, drinks in fridge. Make a la crate reservations before you go as it's hard to get them once you're there!! Check outs coordinating with flight would be great. Busy beach and pool so you need to reserve chairs first thing in morning. Special events are not well advertised or reliab [... read more]le (Friday ice cream party advertised but didn't happen, kids' Easter egg hunt not mentioned on check in or on anything given to us so unless you were by the pool to hear about it you missed it...and my 6 year old was disappointed). Shuttles around resort are convenient.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great Resort

Beautiful resort, the flowers, plants, grass, pools, beach were all so amazing. The lobbies at the different hotels were all different but unique and beautiful, Our room was really nice and clean as well the resort itself. We enjoyed all the restaurants and booked a few of the specialty ones on our first day, We recommend that you go to the tour guide/ package /welcome meeting as you do get some inside information as well as some other information on booking excursions etc. We recommend that you [... read more] take a walk around the whole resort to see all the lobbies, pools, restaurants and see which ones that you can access. as we talked to some people on the plane going home and they did not realize they had so many areas where they could have spent some time and enjoyed it as much as we did. Would like to suggest that the hotel has an information board or to notify the guests of the entertainment or activities as we missed out on some things that it was too late for us. In closing we will definitely recommend this resort area and especially the Amber for those who would like some adult time and some quiet time, thank you

Catalonia Bavaro Resort: beach and golf

food buffet was good selection and delicious variety of deserts Japan a la carte restaurant was a disappointment, too salty, under cooked rice, no desert and we were rushed out for the next group and house wine is awful. Italian a la carte restaurant was very a la dente. Reservations for the a la carte is not required, but show up early to avoid the long line up. Free Golf at 2 courses is included with free shuttle every 20 mins. Cart is mandatory. $45US per person, per cart at 18 hole. Tee tim [... read more]e is not required, just show up. The other course is $35US per person per carte. Course green is ok, course not in best condition, has some water holes, fairways were hard, overall had a good time and it wasn't too busy, so never had to pair up with another group. When we arrived, our room was Not ready, we were looking for the bell boy to store our luggage and unknowingly we spoke to the time share rep who lied and pretended to be the bellboy. Watch out, they wear white shirts and are located in the lobby and in front of the entrance to the buffet. Stay clear, they will try to give you a free gift (mug, shirt, hat), after you listen their one and one time share meeting which can last 2 hours and it might cost you thousands of dollars if you decide to buy. Also, the time share reps are tricky, they will try to use different words other than time share to attend their meeting/presentation. Beach had plenty of chairs, water is warm with seaweed, there is always someone cleaning up the cups and seweed. For sailors, you'll enjoy taking out the hobbit cat on your own for 1 hour each day. I recommend booking in advance as this is very popular. Resort has night club, has music going all night till 5am, with loud music and base. Luckily we were closer to the main hotel lobby and on the other side of the resort . so we didn't have issues. Housekeeping was excellent and our mini bar was restocked every day. This resort great for families, has great kids club.

Occidental Punta Cana: Occidental Grand Punta Cana AMAZING

I just came back from a 7 day all inclusive trip to this truly amazing resort. End of March to the beginning of April. I couldn't believe any of the bad reviews after being there for a day. The staff are super friendly I hadn't met one unhappy person there, this even includes the 3 different excursions we did. The beaches are speechless and we never had to fight for a chair I'm not much of a pool person but there would always be seats available walking by! Blau Natura Park Resort: The PERFECT RESORT

Blau Natura is a Wonderful resort (Don't bother listening to the Negative Folks) We took our children & each took a friend (6 total) For A Great Time !!!!! 1. It is a Perfect size, not too big (like some fancier ones) & not too small 2. The property is very well maintained inside & out The gardens and wildlife are incredible 3. The pool area had plenty of lounge chairs for all & the bar under the waterfall was of course very convenient and fun 6. The Beach was amazingly great and the hotel had more chairs & umbrellas & Palupa huts for sun shade than you can shake a stick at, very nice 7. Lots of beach toys too, they have 3 Hobie Cats which we sailed on 3 days which was wonderful (ALL FREE) along with Sail Boards, Kayaks & paddle boards 8. Go to the beach & turn left and you can walk for two miles between the jungle & the ocean as this is a nature preserve area and it is BEAUTIFUL !! Blau Natura Park Resort: This hotel was a Vacation maker/breaker....

Makers: Beautiful, well-kept grounds, lots of wildlife to watch All Restaurant food was good, drinks good too. Got a little tired of the Mantovani style music in the buffet restaurant, otherwise got to hear some good Dominican music in areas around the hotel. Entertainment nightly with the exception of Dominican Night when the vendors come in to sell. Really lovely buildings with thatched roofs, comfy furniture in receptions and lobby. Very nice pool area, beach is right after the pool at the  [... read more]end of the complex. Large, lots of chairs, lots of activity options with separate areas for swimming and water sports. Good gift shop that accepted DR pesos or US dollars but not Cdn. Dollars. Best A/C in the building, staff was very nice and helpful. Staff: Wonderful, kind, patient, polite. Thank you to Kerry, Luis and Angel at reception, Ezekiel and J Flow from the animation team. The room was clean, the towels clean and white. Thank you Mirabel from housekeeping who brought us a fruit plate and a small bottle of rum as welcome. Very meticulous with cleaning our room. Entertainment: Each night there were activities for children from 8ish to 9 and then entertainment such as karaoke, Miss and Mr. Blau Natura, Bingo. Especially enjoyed the Michael Jackson review, you could tell the entertainment staff worked hard and long to produce the show Vacation Breakers: The rooms have standard key locks with only 1 key; they need to upgrade the locks to a card system. Wi-Fi is available for 15 min. free each day in reception, otherwise you have to buy premium, which had to be purchased in US currency at the kiosk or if you had enough time with the free internet, it could be purchased with PayPal. Needed help from the staff to get that set up. The room: yes, the beds are very very, firm, they need to upgrade those mattresses as well as the TVs. A/C: Not very good, so there was a ceiling fan to compensate, at times the ceiling fan rocked so violently I was afraid it would come crashing down on us as we slept. The poor A/C combined with the high humidity made us northerners uncomfortable in our rooms. We were supplied with shampoo and body wash but not conditioner. Again Mirabel came to my rescue and brought me some without me asking. The shower’s water pressure was rather low and at one point we had no water and had to call down the desk to get it rectified. Overall, we have a good vacation, but the little things made a difference in the quality of our stay.

Iberostar Selection Bavaro Suites: So So Resort

I would have to really think about recommending this resort. There is lots of upgrading needs to be done with the first thing making sure they have hot water and that the patio doors look. When they say someone will be there in 15 minutes be prepared to wait about 45 minutes to an hour. Plus side: The a la carte restaurant are great especially the Steak House. Even the main buffet was excellent. You could always find something you liked and the same goes for the beach buffet which turns into the [... read more] Steak House at night. What else can you say about the beach except beautiful and the same goes for the pool.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Great resort!

The hotel was so well kept and the staff were so friendly!! Beach was beautiful!! The food could have been a lot better, that would have made it a five star! I would recommend this resort to others, I do hope they upgrade their food though.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Beautiful Vacation Spot!

Clean rooms, friendly staff, food in ala carte restaurants and buffet were very good. Huge selection of foods to please every palate, on buffet each meal one section for gluten free. Entertainment each night, although a couple of nights with a band for dancing would be great. We thoroughly enjoyed all the resort offered.

Paradisus Punta Cana: Beautiful Resort

This was our second visit to Paradisus Punta Cana. Last year (2015) we visited at the same time of year. It was excellent, and so we decided to return. This year however, we ran into some disappointments. There have been some changes, some of which are puzzling. For example, there are some cabanas directly in front of the Gabi Beach Bar and buffet restaurant. Last year, they were free to use. This year however, my husband and I rested on one on our first day, and before too long, a woman approa [... read more]ched us and informed us that they were now being rented to the tune of $50 U.S, per day!!! We were first of all embarrassed, as there were no signs on them indicating such a thing; and then angry at the gall of the management to charge their patrons for the use of a cabana, when the cost of a week at their resort is already at the high end of the scale. Secondly, last year, we were able to call anytime to get a dinner reservation at a reasonable time at any of the A La Carte's, even on the same day. This year, we spent 20 minutes on the phone trying to get dinner at a reasonable time, and for the entire week of our stay, we could only get 6 or 6:30, or 9-9:30 reservations and some of the restaurants we could not get into at all. This was frustrating, but what was even more frustrating was the fact that when we looked into these same restaurants at the dinner hour that we would have preferred, in every case, they were less than half filled with patrons. This same thing happened to friends that we met during our stay and they even approached the restaurants in some instance to try and get in, but they were denied. Also missing was any sort of live entertainment inside the restaurants. At least that was our experience, however, we also had less than prime time reservations. Thirdly, last year, every afternoon at 4 p.m., at the Gabi Beach Bar, there was a D.J. there playing some great music while waiters took around trays of champagne, cool wet towels and bowls of hot nuts to snack on. At the same time, women from YHI Spa were there offering free five minute neck massages with their potable massage chairs, or free hand massages. This year, there was none of that that we saw, and we were often in that area at that same time of day. All of these complaints would be things that, had we not gone there last year, we would not have noticed as being different, However, when you return to a resort based on many of these perks that were offered and those things have changed in a negative way, it taints your opinion and affects your experience making it more disappointing than exhilarating. On a positive note, we were given a beautiful room and the resort itself is breathtaking. It is very large and the lighting is romantic and gives an intimate feel. In addition, there is always beautiful music everywhere along the walkways through hidden outdoor speakers. The grounds are kept immaculate and are always being tended. The lobby is stunning and at night it is lit with hundreds of tea lights and pillar candles which is impressive, as anyone who burns candles would know that they are labour intensive. There are many gorgeous places all over the vast lobby to sit and relax with a cocktail and every night there is live music offered and a great place to dance. The staff for the most part are very friendly and polite, and will do their best to accommodate your needs. The beach is perfect with powdery white sand and always a fresh breeze and the swimming is safe and fun with big surf and shallow waters. There are abundant beach chairs available and always lots of fresh dry towels for which they have drop containers available on the beach when you are finished with them for the day. This is refreshing for any of you who have endured the towel obsession in Cuba. Those who have, know what I am talking about. For those looking for a more active vacation, there did not seem to be many fun activities going on during the day, but I would definitely recommend this resort for couples who are looking for romance and rest, or to anyone looking for a gorgeous place to enjoy a tropical break.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: First Class Resort

This resort is one of the nicest and cleanest places we have stayed at. The pool area and beach is spectacular. The people working at the resort are friendly and accommodating. The food and restaurant choices are also top notch.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Beautiful resort with amazing views

This resort was a 5 star for it grounds keeping, restaurants and rooms staff.They were always friendly and very helpful, We needed our tv and toilet fixed and the staff was there right away to fix our problem, the food was delicious In all restaurants, the one thing I could say was that the entertainment was disappointing I have been to resorts were they interact with the guests more then what this resort did but all in all it was an amazing place to stay.

Riu Bambu: Great Resort

Very clean resort, and great service. Everything you want for a relaxing vacation! Would recommend this resort to all ages, and families. If you like to be close to eveyrthing would recommend this be requested upon booking, as some of the rooms are a 7 minute walk to beach and restaurants.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Fabulous time, our new favorite!

Stayed for the first time in the adults only Ambar but toured all the other resorts. I simply cannot stress how hard the staff work, ALL staff to make the premises the most beautiful ever. Every single person makes sure you are happy 100% of the time. You want total R&R stay at the Ambar, looking for family fun, the other resorts have it. Perfect for couples and families alike!
