Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Love the Mexicans!!

The hotel and grounds are lovely, if excessively spread out. We really enjoyed the personnelle and found them helpful, well-trained and pleasant at all times. The food was copious, although very ordinary, with the exception of the French restaurant. We did have a problem with our first room but the hotel sorted it out quickly. This is a good resort for young families.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Great resort for kids

Hotel was great. So many options/activities for the children. They were very impressed with the Star Camp, pools and beach. They also enjoyed the play structure and carousel in the evenings. Grand kids were very impressed with the breakfast buffet. While it is a huge resort, there were carts constantly circling to get you from one end to the other if required. We ordered and paid for an upgrade for a birthday party celebration and everything was well received. While most of the service st [... read more]aff could speak some English, answering any questions requiring details for the answer was often a challenge. The staff work very hard. We would return.

Grand Park Royal Cozumel: Awesome

Really enjoyed my stay. This hotel is super clean, layout is very nice, ands small. Not a lot of walking around to get places. Felt very safe, and the food was pretty good, especially the a la carte restaurants. The beach is pretty small, but the snorkeling right off the beach made up for that, and the pools were super clean and beautiful. Love this place, will return.

Grand Palladium Select Costa Mujeres: Beautiful resort!

The resort is brand new and the property and rooms are beautiful. We had an ocean front loft suite and absolutely loved it. There were a few kinks, our roof sprung an air conditioning leak two times resulting in a small flood each time. But repair each time was very quick and caused minimal inconvenience. The food was great and there was lots to choose from. The beach is gorgeous and offers great swimming. The boats to get around in were lovely. We had some adult time at the TRS pool when the kids checked out the kids club which was also beautiful. The beachfront pool was also amazing. My only complaint was that it was tough to figure out who to talk to when trying to sort reservations and getting bottles of wine. We met our family host at check in and then couldn’t figure out how to talk to the right person after that. We would go to the front desk at FS and were told they would leave a note but that rarely worked. It would be highly recommend to make this process much easier. We also found the large buffet La Isla disappointing with few options and only dined there once. All in all we had an incredible week and left feeling super relaxed!

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great Resort

The resort was amazing. The food was great, clean rooms and staff was very friendly and helpful. We would go back and stay here. We enjoyed it very much. There is so much to do here, you don’t have to leave the resort to have a lot of fun.

El Cozumeleno Beach: Great resort

Good location not too far from Ferry. Great food and the place is kept clean. Finally we saw Mariachis the last evening we were there. Staff was accommodating and pleasant. We got an upgraded room ( family room instead of two separate rooms as we were a family of 5) . That was fantastic. We had no issues with getting purified bottle water in our room. Found out that the tip we leave in the room was taken from the supervisor instead of the cleaning lady. So we gave the lady directl [... read more]y her tip when we could. Only one bad thing.... the cocktails are made with a liquid of artificial sugar.. like splenda. They taste very bad. Finally one server told us how to ask for the original recipe.... Asucar Natural (in Spanish) We did excursions like the snorkeling but no need to pay extra when you have plenty of fish to see at our own beach. Great vacation.

Grand Riviera Princess: Great resort for the whole family!

This resort is massive! With four hotels in one, it’s no wonder the resort in so large. However, there are shuttles every 15 minutes to take you where you need to go (beach, lobby, etc.). Food was fantastic and consistent in all restaurants. Lots of activities that will keep the whole family busy! This is my second visit to the Grand Princess and I have referred many close friends to this resort as well and they loved it!

Sandos Playacar Beach Resort: Great Resort

We stayed for a week at this resort over March Break. It was clean and eco-friendly. We had issues the first morning with our shower and our toilet but they were quick to respond and resolve with no further issues. There is an opening with shutters from the bathroom into the bedroom which is inconvenient but not a deal breaker. You couldn't see through but the light shone through from the bath to the bedroom which is disruptive at night. Staff were all friendly, no matter who it was, everyone said hello. The attempt to sell you on the Royal Elite program was a nuisance but I gather happens at all resorts. Overall a great week!

El Cozumeleno Beach: El Cozumeleno Beach Resort in Cozumel

The hotel is old, but the people are friendly. There is an outdoor restaurant and the food was quite good. There is only one restaurant with a dress code on the hotel's premises. Unfortunately, you have to line up at 7am in the morning in order to get a table in the nice restaurant. The pools are nice and there is snorkeling at the hotel's beach. Lot's of fish to be seen there while snorkeling. There are a lot of excursions to be done. A friend took me for a volkswagen ride on the island. I also [... read more] did a catamaran tour including snorkeling in the coral reefs as well as visiting the ruins at Tulum and one of the Cenotes.

Tropicana Hotel: Great stay

Hello I truly enjoyed myself. Everything was perfect. Kudos to the wonderful, helpful staff. Would recommend it ot all my friends. Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun: Totally over the top

This was our eighth Mexican all inclusive. Secrets Maroma was the best we have stayed in to date. The room was beautiful, the ground wonderfully kept. The best part was the service. When you go to the pool in the morning, the pool concierge greets you, and finds you loungers and puts towels on them, and up goes the umbrella, if you wish. This is the same if you go to the beach. We really enjoyed all the shows. So many fun activities all day long. The a la carte restaurants were wonderful. We really enjoyed the buffets also. All in all the best holiday to date.

Grand Oasis Riviera: Little too quiet but beautiful spot

Far from airport. Was very quiétude during pour stay. Would have appreciate music and animation during the Day. Didn't Read Much before last minute booking. Good food. Loved the beach. Pictures let us think we would have access to the Sian Khan hôtel next door which wasn't the case... Little disappointed but well rested.

Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay: Perfect getaway

this resort is definitely first class. Beautifully cared for grounds and flowers. Two weddings booked during our week enjoyed the spectacular scenery. Our room was perfect giving the ocean view as promised along with wonderful sunsets. Excellent variety of menu items at buffet and bistro restaurants. Wonderful beach area and fine sand for miles. Loved loved loved this resort. Customer service was amazing in every area. We will be back!

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Great resort

Had a great week in Mexico. The staff at the resort were amazing. Some even remembered us from our last visit to the resort 4 years ago. Well be going back again next year with a bigger group. The kids area is amazing as well.

Samba Vallarta: Great Vacation

A small resort perfect for families. Everything was very close and staff were friendly. Entertainment was there if you wanted it. Waves on the beach great for boogie boarding. Food and drinks were good for a small resort. Italian restaurant very good.

Excellence Playa Mujeres: Best. Resort. Ever!

Our second time and loved it even more. Truly a 10 out of 10. Great service, food, and heated pools. Also, every night has terrific entertainment, including a theatre with amazing shows (always plenty of very comfortable seating) and a large outdoor area with more entertainment before and after the main show.

Grand Palladium Vallarta: Nice place

We had to stop at four or five different resorts on the way there to let people off on top of our already 45 minute drive there so that was long when we got there checked in they tried pushing us for a timeshare recommend don’t do it service at the adult pool was fantastic buffet was good service on open their side Was so so lots of stairs room were very nice over all a great place to stay

Hotel Xcaret Mexico: Best resort ever!

This was my second visit to this resort and incredibly it was even more amazing than the first time. The resort is stunning, nature based and set in the jungle amongst rivers. The rooms are well appointed and have amazing showers. The food, the service, the parks are all top notch.

Occidental Cozumel: A week of Sun and Diving

We just got back from our week at Occidental Cozumel. We chose to try this resort before settling on a brand of hotels we truly love, like Iberostar. Keep in mind while reading this review that we just got back 3 months ago from being at Iberostar Paraiso Maya, which was an incredible 5 star experience compared to what we received at Occidental. Upon arrival at 11am, we were told that we had to check in at the Royal Club and to wait for a golf car to pick us up. After waiting around for 1 [... read more]0 - 15 minutes, my husband and I chose to walk the 2 minutes over to the club to check into our rooms (not an issue, but not sure why they wanted to drive us over). There seems to only be one golf cart for the entire resort, very much unlike Iberostar's fleet of 20+. Wifi is an additional fee if you are not Royal Club (it was free at Iberostar), and not sure why they wanted to check us in at the Royal Club since they claimed it was full and we could not upgrade to it. Our room was "not ready" so we had to come back at 3pm for our room keys. Wasn't an issue as we headed to the buffet. We got our keys at 3pm only to find that we were being placed on the ground floor. If you are on the ground or second floor of any of their buildings, prepare to hear every toilet flush, every shower, every suitcase and every step of your neighbours above. Luckily we asked to be moved up, and managed to be in a second floor room with quieter top floor neighbours. Emma, the concierge was very quick and helpful to find us a room, and extremely understanding of our concerns. All week, the single lunch buffet they have on site was sparse in comparison to the immense selection we had at Iberostar. Not only was it sparse in selection, it was sparse in quantity. Once whatever dish was finished, it generally was not replenished for the duration of the meal. Speaking of sparse, the staff on site seemed to not only be sparse, but not eager to greet you as they did at Iberostar. Almost every single time we went to a restaurant (breakfast, lunch and dinner) we had to wait a good 5 - 10 minutes before being seated because there was no host (and no line up). One time at lunch, there was a good 30 - 40 person line up for the buffet because the host was not only seating people, she was clearing tables and serving drinks. Breakfast and lunch are very bland and repetitive - so if you are looking for just peanut butter and toast, or stale home fries and soggy eggs, you will be content. At breakfast, the omelet station is generally left unattended, only managed to have eggs made fresh twice because no one was there, even after standing around waiting for someone to arrive. Rooms are nice, but odd that the closet and safe is inside the bathroom. Tiles are particularly slippery when wet so beware! No fun towel art or kind notes from the cleaning staff, and generally they take a very long time to get to your room. There isn't a big traditional theatre as most resorts showcase for evening performances, just a big empty square with plastic chairs. The grounds are lush and beautiful with iguanas and coaties. Beach is not as well maintained as most resorts I have been to. Garbage and plastic cups are discarded and not cleared as quickly. There appeared to be only one staff member asking to bring you drinks, as well as only one bar to get drinks from for the beach and pool next to the single pool at the resort. There is an adult pool too, but we are more ocean swimmers than pool. We were there mainly for the diving, but always enjoy dressing up and eating like kings on vacation. Although the diving was incredible, we were disappointed with the dining experience at the resort. It is possible that they were understaff, however, we will most likely not be returning to Occidentals anywhere due to this experience.
