JW Marriott Costa Elena Resort and Spa: Amazing resort

Outstanding food and service. The pool is amazing. We really appreciated the Preferred section and all the restaurants. Yoga on the beach in the morning is very nice. Would go back anytime and I would refer my best friends there.

Dreams Huatulco: Dreams was beyond our expectations!

From the moment we entered the resort our holiday was destined to be the "best one ever"! Our flight was 3 hours late from Victoria, BC and when we arrived in the evening we were greeted with a welcoming beverage and check-in was quick and efficient. We had a great dinner at the World Café, then explored the resort.. I loved the pool volleyball, water aerobics, morning yoga and wild "Zumba"! I'm a swimmer, so the infinity pools so close to the ocean were absolutely a dream come true.....imagine swimming your lengths while watching the sun rise and listening to the ocean breaking on the sand...pinch me....I must be dreaming:) We had the best of both worlds at Dreams; pool for those who don't care for swimming in the salt water and the ocean for those that do... Lots of loungers to spend the lazy days; either on the beach or at the pool. Our weather was clear skies everyday except the last day which was cloudy; still warm though A special thankyou to Misael Boutista Lopez, our beach server, who looked after us so well we named a new drink....."Misael Sunset" after him.....Tequila shot, orange slice and lime slice squeezed in a highball glass The Rendevous Lounge is where our server Edie Acxel Martinez Cruz looked after us so well. Dreams Las Mareas was definitely a fantastic resort. Zero complaints, very cozy, delicious food, spacious rooms. Definitely in my top 3 destinations globally! I would return in a heartbeat! Staff was amazing too. Although we booked just 3 weeks ahead of time, we realized we might not get double beds in the room but the hotel upgraded us free of charge to a swim out room to accommodate. They went above and beyond. We especially enjoyed the fact that it was a completely non-smoking resort - very rare.

Grounds and rooms were beautiful, the staff very friendly. The food was good but not amazing. The bar tenders Tony and Orlando were so good at their job and made it seem effortless and always with such warm smiles!

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Beautiful!!

We had a spacious, clean swim out room that we found lovely. The food throughout the resort was fabulous, the staff were friendly and helpful. On one occasion, we left early for the gym and left our safe open. Cleaning staff came in, earlier than expected and reported the find to security. We were impressed by the way it was handled and that we had to contact security to have the safe reopened. Grounds were beautifully maintained and were a pleasure to walk around. Down sides: 1, we were next to [... read more] the janitors closet and no effort was made by housekeeping to reduce the noise level. 2, Our tour operator forgot to pick us up to go back to the airport, although they did send along transportation once we contacted them.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Dreams Punta Cana

Dreams Punta Cana was no disappointment in terms of the resort, its facilities, it's beach, its a la carte restaurants and main buffet. The unique swimming pool is designed in such a way that it winds itself along the complexes and every guest has a piece of it at their doorstep - almost right down to the beach. The food was excellent in its variety, availability and taste. The rooms and balcony were nice in size and the beds were extremely comfortable. However, the rooms could be upgraded t [... read more]o include: a) a double dresser underneath the mounted TV (the space is there for it). The only place to put any personal wear is on open shelving contained within the closet; b) towel bars in the bathroom (there were none); c) the partial shower glass in the bathroom should be removed and a shower curtain installed in its place. You have to actually step into the bathtub to reach the shower controls and/or plug and to also test the water temperature - very inconvenient, not too mention that your feet could get hit with extremely hot or cold water; d) they need to move the toilet paper dispenser to the 'other' side of the toilet to make it more easily accessible. As it stands, you'd better not have shoulder problems - the backward reach is far. The only other noteworthy item for me was the service at the front entrance and in the main buffet. In my opinion, there could have been more staff. Last of the somewhat negatives were the flamingos on-site. They were cute and beautiful, BUT - they were very noisy and could be disturbing for guests that like to sleep in a little. Luckily, I was an early riser. On a positive note, however, I would definitely recommend this resort and also return there myself in a heartbeat - overall, the resort is simply beautiful and won't disappoint.

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: Perfect resort for families

The buildings on this resort may be old but this is the cleanest resort I've ever been to & I have definitely been to a lot in the past 30 years & Punta Cana has been one of my favorites, travelling there 3 times. I would definitely recommend this resort to families I think they really cater to the kids, young to teens and even set up a special bulletin everyday in case of a rainy day I was there for 11 nights & I received a call every day from the concierge desk asking me if I was enjoying my  [... read more]vacation and if there was anything they could do for me. I was just a normal client to them, I was not on the preferred package. I wonder how much attention the preferred guest gets compared to the average, my husband & I were happy with the food & service we received there, the staff everywhere were very courteous. The entertainment in the evening shows were very professional, some were definitely outstanding. The gardens were gorgeous, my husband smokes and would not even consider throwing a butt out, always found an ashtray. On the beach where we spent all of our days, they would rake the seaweed a few times a day if needed. Yes I would recommend this resort & we will go back.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Great resort, but is showing its age

This was our second time at this resort and we enjoyed it , good food excellent housekeeping staff, very friendly employees in general. The buildings were very well kept and grounds well manicured however its age is starting to show. We were a bit disapointed that some of the Specialty Resturants were often unavailable at supper times due to "private events".

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Established Paradise

I know, strange title, but there is something to be said of an established resort. While the rooms were dated, how much time do you really spend there. The grounds and scenery were STUNNING! We didn't have a meal we didn't like, and although we were a little concerned that the a la cartes didn't take resos (this was our first experience with this set up) it worked really well. A couple hiccups were quickly and professionally sorted out by staff. All in all, a lovely holiday.

Dreams La Romana: Children Everywhere!

This is an excellent resort. They offer many great childrens programs which means that there an extradorinary amount of youngsters running amok. Where are their parents!? Soccerballs in the lobby bar - plants being defoliated - kids at the swim-up bar, throwing balls at hotel guests (if accidental, then apologize!!). Great room service, maid service, bar service, dinner service. Internet only so-so but free!. Pools clean and warm, beach calm, sandy, and warm, chairs and shade. Always someth [... read more]ing to complain about if you think back, but will happily recommend for a DR beach holiday.

JW Marriott Costa Elena Resort and Spa: Fantastic resort

From the greeting we received upon arrival to our departure when leaving everything in between was just fantastic. We loved the food and the pools where just beautiful. They did a great job with blending the resort with the beautiful surroundings. Dreams Huatulco: Beautiful

This was s lovely resort , very clean , wonderful friendly staff I would recommend this resort to anyone, the only suggestion would be to stop people going down st 5 in the morning and putting towels on the lounges, and then coming back hours later . Or perhaps the resort should follow secrets example and out more shade spots on the beach or arround the pools

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: Amazing stay with family

We had a wonderful stay. The beach is beautiful, the pools were refreshing and always plenty of chairs and umbrellas. The kids pool was nice and shallow for the kids. The buffet was fabulous so much variety. Coco cafe was nice spent each evening there after dinner. The Italian restaurant was good but service was very slow. The japanese restaurant was delicious and entertaining. The french restaurant was extremely slow, we left after 1.5 hrs as we still hadn't had our full meal yet. The r [... read more]ooms are very dated and there is no storage to put away your clothes, not a big fan of living out of suitcases. The washroom layout very poor, and floor was always soaked after shower as there is no closing door on the shower. Do not fall for the Ultimate vacation club, waste of 3.5 hrs was disappointed to have wasted that time. Overall amazing experience and would definitely return. But next time we would upgrade to Diamond club, we stayed in regular room but for the extra I think it would be worth the upgrade. High recommend this hotel.

Dreams Huatulco: Outstanding Resort!

This hotel is the perfect size. Not so large that everything is so far away. The restaurants are really good and as a bonus you don't have to reserve. The beach is really nice as well as all of the infinity pools at the resort. Just beautiful. The rooms are a nice size and kept very clean along with turndown service. What I particularly loved is that you can eat breakfast at a lovely restaurant outside overlooking the beach and also eat dinner under the stars! With the weather there always b [... read more]eing perfect you truly want to eat outside and not stuck inside a restaurant like at some resorts. This resort has become our favourite! Why go somewhere else when this one is so good! The people are so friendly and the whole area feels very safe. No question, I would recommend this place to everyone but would also like to keep it a secret so it can stay just the way it is!!

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Wonderful experience

I had a great time, the resort was beautiful and the rooms were very clean. I have a difficult time when it come's to food all I can say is that there were so much food selection and it was not hard to find something. Not only was there a wide selection but the food was fantastic. The resort is beautiful and well groomed. The staff is very polite and pleasant. I will be bringing my son and his family there next year! Excellent experience.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Feb 12 - 19 - Swim Out Room

This was our first all inclusvie vacation (in the past we have Cruised). Do to the fact that we arrived late (due to flight delays) we ended up getting bumped from our room (it was obvious as they used white out and wrote in the new room number). The frist room we stayed in (Rm 4101) had NO VIEW of the pool and the right beside a walk through to another building. I complained and we were moved to Building 1 and a much nicer room (RM 1102). That room had the extras that the first one was mi [... read more]ssing (ie, umbrella, house coats, welcome letter with % of spa services). The cleaing staff were friendly and very helpful. We didn't like the way the sales for excursions and the night of crafts were done. We could not walk 5 steps without someone trying to sell us something I would have thought the resort would not allow that type of pressure (very similar to crusie excursions...once you pass the cruise port the Islanders beg you to buy something). The food was OK, really didn't have a lot of variety for myself (I have a peanut allergy) for breakfast or lunch. Dinners I had more options. I should have been informed that I needed to see the main desk to have a letter written up to explain my allergy which I would then show to the waite staff and managers. Once I got that it became very easy. This letter should have been given to me prior to arriving at the resort. We felt very safe while on the property.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Dreams Punta Cana

Dreams Punta Cana didn't disappoint us. The lush gardens, the pink flamingos, the beautiful peacocks were a hit. The grounds are meticulous. The pool is absolutely gorgeous and runs the length of the resort to the beach. The waters however is very rough due to its location and not recommended for swimming. The food was excellent and the service was also great. We had booked an excursion from Ottawa for a Catamaran ride to Catalina Island for Wednesday Feb. 15. The agent was not there on M [... read more]onday when we saw our Sunwing agent so we went the next day only to be told that the trip for the Wednesday for which we had a confirmed booking was full. We agreed to go Friday. Our paperwork I dictated that the bus left between 7:45 and 9:00. Thursday morning we got a call in our room while getting dressed that the bus was there at 6:45. The caller didn't speak English so he hung up and had the hotel call. The hotel asked them to wait for 10 minutes so we ran to the front and th bus was gone. Needless to say we weren't too pleased. Following a lot of stress and anxiety they finally got us on for Saturday. It was extremely stressful to have to go through all of this when we had what we had and the paperwork indicated booked and confirmed. Had they had place for Saturday we would have been out over 500.00 for the wrong information we received from the tour booking agency.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Did not meet our expectations

1) The dining was a C+ at best. Extremely bland food. Food was often not kept at a proper serving temp. Not the type of buffet one would expect at such a large resort. Poor selection! 2) Beach was extremely small for the size of the resort. Limited swimming area. I do understand due to the rocky beach but none the less too small. 3) staff friendliness was a hit or miss. Some staff were extremely friendly while other appeared as though you were interrupting their day. 4) entertainment was at  [... read more]a high school play level at best. ( all thought they did try)😔 5) worst of all was the constant harassment while trying to relax on the beach from people trying to sell jewelry, to sunglasses, day trips, pics with parrots and t shirts. Extremely annoying when trying to relax with the family. On a positive there were the few select staff that made up for it and the facilities were clean🌴

This resort was amazing! Food was great in all the a la carte restaurants and the buffet was decent as well. Drink service was a bit slow but other than that I'd highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to visit Costa Rica!
