Paradisus Rio De Oro: good resort

Good value considering the inflated costs this year. Food is good and plentiful, buffet is very repetitive as in most resorts. Staff are very friendly. Grounds are clean and easy to get around. Pool cleanliness needs a bit of work, a good scrub would help it a lot. Most of the beach is rocky and not swimmeable but there is a small section which is sand bottoom. Our package said 4 a la cartes per week but that has changed to 3. Website also says coffee machines in rooms but that is wrong also. Over all we would give this resrt a 3.5 or 4 at best although they think it's 4.5 Had a really good time. No regrets as long as you are not expecting luxury. We picked this resort quickly as plan B after Sunwing bailed on us with under 2 weeks notice. Having given more time selecting we probably would not have been here but that OK.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Good Resort

Great rooms, Good housekeeping, Excellent Reception desk staff. Food needs more variety and better quality. Very nice restaurant staff. Very loud music, needs to be contained within local area. Good service at the bar. Good variety. Nightly entertainment needs more variety.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Wonderful Resort

We are going to this hotel for years and it is improving and renovating constantly. Our room had a walk-in shower because I’m handicapped. The staff is very friendly and greeted us with open arms happy to see us again. The food is good - we ate what is available and were always satisfied. At the moment they have 2 Specailty Restaurants (you need reservation) and the main Buffet Diningroom in the Hotel, there is the 24hour snack bar & Santa Maria snack bar. What we did not like is Sunwing  [... read more]taking over villas 1/2/3 and 4 and we got orange armbands the rest and hotel-guests got green ones. We could eat at La Benny’s all the time while other guests were restricted. The grounds and pools were very clean.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Clean Resort - Food Terrible

My party has visited this resort for the past 20plus years. People are fantastic, older facility but always clean. But unfortunately this visit was a huge disappointment. New management within the last 14 days has much to already made a huge dent in our visit to this resort. We previously visit the resort in late November under older management food was acceptable with variety. This time around was terrible with no where to turn. Buffet was with no doubt unacceptable. New director needs a quick shack or many return guess will look elsewhere. Sorry Club Amigo. Love the people but for a couple bucks more can seek out next door at Brias and visit our faithful friends at Club Amigo.

Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Resort: Amazing hotel

My husband and I went for first time to this hotel and we just loved it.Food was great.Very clean and excellent service.We really enjoyed our time staying at this hotel and looking forward to come back again .

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Amazing resort

Very well managed, beautiful grounds, comfortable rooms, friendly staff . We enjoyed our stay at Club Amigo Atlantico right on the beach. We had ocean view room and enjoyed the beautiful panorama . Very clean, and lots to do. The food was plenty of choices. Beautiful white sand .The private beach is small but the public beach is right beside with plenty of room .

Playa Pesquero: Amazing Resort

The hotel and staff were amazing , could always get a beach or pool chair, clean rooms Did not feel like I had to tip all the time but I did One hour drive from airport The food was good but they were short of a lot of Choices, not there fault and somedays could not get red wine

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Not at all what we expected

Unfortunately not as advertised Staff was nice (not everyone, some of them looked annoyed when asked a question) and that’s about the only positive thing. Upon arrival we were told we would get an email about activities etc - never received, no maps brochures etc When asked or complained about something we get cold “ sorry nothing we can do” Food was so so - not on the 5 star level. Booked dinner for 4 in Japanese restaurant - they said we only have room for 2 the other 2 can sit at the regular table . Resort is spacious but old and tired looking. Holes and broken tiles on pathways ( witnessed a lady falling by the pool as she stepped in the hole) Cockroaches in the room, birds and bird poop everywhere, beach lounge chairs filthy, tables in the lobby sticky, no warm water, poor water pressure, and list goes on For the money we paid - huge disappointment !!

Don Lino Hotel: Amazing

Nice to be back at Don Lino, almost 3 years since able to travel. Always amazing service and always amazing staff. Vacationers I meet while there are always very friendly. Always very clean and spacious rooms.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Another Cuban resort

Hotel is clean. Very bad design comes to the rooms ( our # 2103)faced to disco so can't go sleep before midnight. Nice beach and swimming pools. Good service but very bad food. Wouldn't go there again at least not for the price we paid .

Brisas Guardalavaca: Beautiful place and friendly staff

Hotel was clean, short distance walk to dining, pools and beach. Everything is accessible in few steps. Limited food and drinks served which you cannot blame on them, there's a shortage of supply caused by covid after effects.

Playa Pesquero: This resort has it all!

Absolutely LOVED our time at Playa Pesquero. The beach is beautiful, clean, spacious, with buttery soft sand and some trees for shade. Snorkeling right there was epic, so much variety, saw something new every day. Lots of beautiful gardens and walking trails to explore. The staff were all super friendly and trustworthy, felt safe and at ease the entire time. Beds were decently comfortable and the pillows were awesome. Rooms always cleaned thoroughly. Food is of course limited, but they did an am [... read more]azing job with what they had. Bring snacks, ketchup, hot sauce, salad dressing. Drink mix was very limited, bring your own if this matters to you. Coffee bar served delicious fresh ground coffee. Get to the beach early to reserve your chairs for the day. Book water activities at 8am. The pool is huge and beautiful, always space for everyone, with buffet and bathroom close by. **The coral is dying, bring natural sunscreen and avoid chemicals while swimming!** I would definitely return to this resort again!

all Good,nice beach , great staff,nice weather, very quiet , very clean rooms , very good service , really comfortable mattress , very nice view of the Caribbean sea, nice blue water , a very relaxing time .

Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Resort: Exceeded all expectations.Great resort. New and Spotless.

We stayed January 16-23 2023 and the whole experience was great. The resort is new and spotlessly clean. The staff are amazing from the gardeners to the wait staff to the lifeguards. The food is excellent but its Cuba and we did run out of things from time to time but nothing that took away from the experience at all. We stayed in a standard king room which was beyond our expectations, new and very modern. We spent most of our time at the beach which is one of the nicest beaches we have visited, [... read more] white sand tourquoise water and decent snorkling right off the beach. Other highlights were the Japanese and seafood restaurants as well as Cuba day where they do an outdoor pig roast. Fantastic.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Smaller than expected but was amazing.

Half the resort was empty front desk said there was 300 people there. Got to know a lot of staff by name. And they knew our names as well. If you tip well they take care of you. Rudolf made sure my drink was never empty and new all of our drink orders for our entire group of 9. If you participate in the events they’ll love you.

Grand Memories Holguin: A fantastic resort for Cuba

Everything was great. Hotel was at a low capacity which kept a lot of things closed in the hotel which we understand. Staff are new to tourism and most dont speak any english but they make up for it with there smiles and there work ethic. Dont come if you want night life outside of the resort as there is now towns anywhere near the resort. If you want to enjoy the weather and the resort this is a great place to come.

Grounds were well maintained..Food was good but no variety.Rooms were clean but no hot water most days.Staff was great..Very friendly great service.I would like to add they should get a 15 minute break at least to eat they are starving

Playa Pesquero: Snorkel and Massage are the highlights!

The resort is very inviting and the grounds are stunning. The gardening and housekeeping staff are amazing. The coffee bar and staff are the best! I did not get to know the bartenders at all as they had no mix so not being a wine or beer drinker I was not able to partake. The buffet cooks are great and doing the best they can with what they have but the staff clearing and setting tables were not good any of the nights. I was expecting the food to be repetitive as Cuba always is but they are even more limited since the pandemic than ever before. Be prepared to live off of bread, cheese, pork and yuca. Breakfast was the best meal as the omelettes were always amazing. The pizza on the beach is great but line up is long and they are only open for 2 hours. The pool is stunning and nice and cool. Also, I came home with over 60 bug bites on my legs. I think they are possibly sand fleas? Take your snorkel, SO much to see! AND go for a massage! Book early as you will def want to book another.

Grand Memories Holguin: Very good

Very nice hotel, people there were super kind. No orange juice, no cola, but lots of everything else. The beach was a bit sea weedy but warm salt water. Warmer than the hotel cool pools. Had a pigs ear with the best beer. Perfect trip

Playa Pesquero: Beautiful Resort, Amazing Staff

The beach and ocean were spectacular, the staff were so friendly and helpful. The resort is older but very well maintained and beautiful. in Cuba, the food is not amazing on a good day, let alone in pandemic times. Our expectations weren’t high, we’ve been to Cuba several times pre-Covid, but the food was worse than expected. Either too salty or bland, they offered lots of cabbage, tomatoes, pork, rice, plain spaghetti noodles (sometimes red sauce or white sauce if they had it), fresh pa [... read more]paya, canned fruit cocktail, canned tuna, cheese, lunch meat, eggs, & bread. There was not a variety of any sort of vegetables or fresh fruits, no chicken or salads, no potatoes. There weren’t limes or lemons for drinks, or even club soda, tonic or other mixes for alcohol. This was disappointing. Overall it was a good vacation, but until Cuba is able to offer better food/drinks we won’t be paying $1100 per person again to go there. I cannot recommend this resort at this time, especially at the pricing for a vacation there over $1000.
