VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Amazing resort! Best experience

Hotel was very clean, great service and very friendly staff. Kids loved it, had no issues at all. Everything went very well. Food was good too, lots of variety. Beautiful and clean beach and very safe!

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Friendly staff and nice resort grounds

I went solo and I am a female. I felt extremely safe and staff made me feel welcomed and comfortable. Nightly entertainment was great and the food was pretty good. Nice clean room with big balcony. Definitely have to return. Spa service was great too! The property is well taken care of and the beach is beautiful!

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Nice resort, amazing service but lack of maintenance

We recently had an azing stay at the resort. I was very please by the quality of the service. The people were dedicated to address any of our needs with a large smile. However, we had multiple issues with the window and after the team came to fix the lock, the frame of the window was broken. It was quiet dangerous since the glass was not sucurly attached. I asked for someone to fix it but no one came...

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Family Vacation Resort

My family liked the resort due to it was close to the beach and the pool was a good size. The rooms needs some update. We did have a leaky air conditioner which created a wet and slippery floor, however it was reported and got fixed right away. There is really not much entertainment on the resort itself and when there is it is mostly in spanish. The same items for food is repeated so it can become boring if you are there longer than 5 days.

Select Sosua Adults Only, Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Beach is beautiful

So we stayed on the select side of the resort and let me tell you definitely had kids there and people whom where not part or the select section they buffet was the same food every day the infinty pool was beautiful and the beach stunting best thing of the whole place. The water was always cold to shower and also to the point where the water had no pressure at all mold all over my room and my toilet and tv did not work would not be staying here again!

Playabachata Hotel: BAD RESORT

Hotel rooms are old. Everything is dirty and in my room, the toilet was leaking for some reason. The food wasn’t the best. Some food smells funny. Flies flying around the food so be careful of what you are eating. If you want good food, you are going to find it during excursions. If you are looking to party at this resort, are you out of luck since the resort is full of locals. Was there for 7 days and never saw people partying.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Don't Expect too much!

We stayed at this resort from June 30-July 4. Overall it was ok. The few staff members we interacted were great from beginning to end. The food was ok nothing to rave about. The beach was very nice. There were a few mishaps like on our last night the resort had no water. The entertainment is only for the locals. If you are looking for something cheap this is the resort. Don't expect too much. This was my second visit and I noticed the decrease in care and value of the place.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Very very descent!

Nice overall. Can only think of positives. Had a super vacation. Staff is friendly and amazing in general. Long line to check in but we forgot about it as soon as we entered our air conditioned room and went straight to the beach. Never used pools which they have several. The water there is as hot as pee.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: be live resort - Dominican Republic

Been to this resort before, second time back myself. The water was out for 10 hours the one day, our air conditioning broke twice during our stay & was broken for hours, once arrived in room noticed no blow dryer - reached out to front desk 3 separate times, waited 2 days into vacation until one was brought to room. unfortunate inconveniences during a vacation.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Staff needs customer Service Training

Senator staff are unfriendly, not helpful and pretend not to speak english so they don’t have to help their guests Issues: 1. They don’t even greet you upon check in 2. Housekeeping removed bath towels and do not replace them. I brought the issue several time to guests services and reception but they just give you a blank state 3. Toilet not flushing 4. VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Very Enjoyable

Dominican Republic was wonderful as usual. 1. Staff were helpful, happy and supportive. Thanks Solange. 2. Hotel restaurants, staff and food and drinks were great. Thanks Felix for attending to our every need. 3. Pool and beach with coral reefs for snorkeling were clean, warm and had lots of lounge chairs. 4. Rooms are a bit tired looking but are in good repair. Besides, you don't got to Dominican to stay in your room! 5. Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Relax week

Too many Dominicans on weekends. Buffet service was often very slow. A few very friendly staff, but several lack charisma. Food was good, but no fruit at lunch or dinner. At full capacity, there is a lack of shaded places at the beach and at the pool

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: The good and the bad.

There were many enjoyable things about the resort. The beach was lovely and the food was good. The service was very good. The employees were positive and attentive. There could have been more evening entertainment and more equitable access to the restaurants. Unfortunately, our room smelled like mildew and I ended up being sick the whole trip, possibly from the room. It is my understanding that the resort is going to be completely renovated.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: So Many Options

If we consider just the Palm and Tropical. Kind of leaving the owners out of my review. The option to either take a shuttle bus or just walk to get around. The walk up and down the hill it rests on would be tough on some. But the walk around is complemented by easy to follow paths to take.Plenty of kiosks with a map of the site Lots of shade from the trees and buildings. The guys at the lobby bar deserve a special mention. Very engaging and fun to hang out with. Similar with the buffet staff. The food was very good and a decent variety. I only ate at one a la cart. Indo China. Food was very good and the view from the restaurant was very nice. One only complaint. I found a piece of metal in my meal. Looked like a small chip of twisted metal from a can opener. I showed the head of staff while it was still on my plate.

Viva Tangerine by Wyndham: Rooms are very tired!

This is by far the worse resort we have ever stayed in. First impressions are good except there was only ever 1 person at reception so check in is very slow. Grounds are very neat but oh the rooms are so old. The bed creaks at every turn, the mattress was lumpy and we tried 2 rooms. Dont even hope for even warm water - its lukewarm at best. 3 days we had to chase room service for towels, if you dont ask for bottles of water you dont get any. But, the entertainment - this was the best we have seen in DR and the only reason we stayed the full 7 nights

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Amazing Resort

We just returned from Iberostar Costa Dorado and don't have any complaints. This was our second time at this resort. The resort was well maintained, there were a ton of beach loungers and our room was great. The only complaint we have is the outside vendors that are brought in are extremely pushy. They do not take no for an answer and were getting very upset with us if we did not buy anything. We would not hesitate to return for another vacation.

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Heavens

Well maintained and run especially considering how slow it was. The animation team did a great job getting people involved in an off season environment Amazing beach 🏖️ and pool area Always enough poolside or beach chairs.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Exceptional

Beautiful resort, clean and friendly! Staff was on top of it all! Huge resort with quick transportation on site. The use of other hotels was amazing. The RSVP restaurants had surprisingly large portions for entrees. 10 out of 10!

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Relaxing Vacation

We stayed at Gran Ventana during their slow season. So good for relaxing, beach was not crowded, ocean was warm and beautiful. Grounds were well kept, rooms clean but older. Staff was very friendly and helpful, they work very hard to please everyone. We purchased local food there at reasonable cost. Owner is from the Netherlands, it’s called La Petit Francois. There is hand sanitizer before you enter the Buffet restaurant. We were not concerned about Covid issues due to low capacity of people during our stay and we spent all of time outdoors by the ocean.Alacarte restaurants were good, Octopus was our favorite and Ocean Grill was our least favorite. Entertainment was almost zero, just one night had something meaningful, the Dominican night which showed Dominican folk dancing. Nothing else, no daily activities or other entertainment even though they post activities, there was no follow through. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay and would love to visit again.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Continual revisits

Hotel is very clean, staff is awesome Osvaldo and Andrea- great bartenders - pleasant and friendly! Felix in buffet- very accommodating and friendly! Was very disappointed however in their client relations. This was my 2 nd trip to this hotel however my friend- it was her 6 th time there. No extras were given her way- over the years she has brought many people to this resort also. The room was smaller, a horrible view, and picture this- 2 ladies trying to get ready without a full length mirror. We totally enjoy this resort at this time because we know it will be quiet and we enjoy tipping even more because we get the extra attention, however management needs to up their game if they want return guests to reappear the next year.
