Riu Guanacaste: Service Stands Out

Excellent service from all staff. Beautiful property and beautiful country, however many of the best attractions in Costa Rica are not nearby. Great stretch of beach to walk on. Highlight of the trip was walking to the end of the beach to see the monkeys.

Dreams Las Mareas Costa Rica: Fabulous Resort

The resort was great. I truly enjoyed it. The staff was very friendly and helpful. And speaking English wasn't a problem for most of the staff. I will go back to this resort. Only thing next time I will request room away from the entertainment area. The food was great.

Beach Break Resort: A little disappointed

Some of the staff were very good and the rooms were clean. This resort only has 1 restaurant and no entertainment at all! Both pools are in full sun all day, no shade. Luckily there were a couple of nice shady seating areas. The beach is quite rocky in some areas, so shoes are needed to get to a good spot. The waves are fairly big and no life jackets were available, so I was too nervous to take my 8 year old out past our knees. Surfing is the main activity here. No monkeys at this resort [... read more] 😔, So if that is why you are coming (me) apparently a resort more in land would be best. Walking distance to town, which was nice.

Occidental Tamarindo: Fantastic resort

The resort is fantastic! It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but for somebody who is looking for an great destination that is unlike other resorts, this is the place to go. The staff are fantastic, the food is great, the beach is wonderful.

The Westin Reserva Conchal Golf Resort & Spa: Can't Wait To Go Back

This was my second time at the Westin Playa Conchal within 1 year. My husbands' first time and from the minute we arrived he couldn't stop raving. Special thanks to Stephanie at the front desk. The hotel is on a reserve and from the moment you arrive you experience the best that Costa Rica has to offer. From Howler monkies to Magpie Blue Jays it is like being in a wonderland of wildlife. The resort offers a variety of day trips, sports, water excercises and a variety of daytime recreation if you are so inclined. The pool is warm and wonderful with a swim up bar. The rooms are large and clean in bungalow configurations that allow the guests to feel like they are at resort that is both indicative of the country and as comfortable as being at home. In a nutshell we loved and now want to go back with our whole family.

Hotel Villas Playa Samara: Was a Great Time

It was all good. Just as expected. Friendly staff. Got a room upgrade. It's Costa Rica, Yah. All the neigh sayors people on here, please stay away. I will be back. Some great tours to be had. Shop around though, better deals in town. Some great food and entertainment in Samara as well.

Riu Guanacaste: Enjoyed our stay

Check in was quick. Hotel was very clean. The grounds were gorgeous. Lots of iguanas. Pool area was great. Beach was rocky right in front of the hotel. It was better more towards the other hotel. Food was decent.

Wyndham Tamarindo: Quiet and relaxing

This is the quietest hotel we have ever stayed in.Lovely infinity pool,convenient shuttle,beautiful view of ocean in the distance.Breakfast is a nice feature.Tamarindo has no shortage of great restaurants so trying a new one each evening was fun.We were happy that this hotel delivered the services outlined on their website exactly as presented.

Coco Beach Hotel and Casino: Good Value Hotel

Spent a week here Jan 18th to 25th with my 2 best friends and had a good time. Check in was friendly,quick and smooth with a nice refreshing welcome drink. Our room 206 was nothing fancy but decent and was clean.No real view from your room but why would you other than to change,shower or sleep.Very pleasantly surprised it had a small fridge with freezer as well a digital safe. Good working AC No issues with shower pressure or water temps. Toilet flushed slow all the time. Clogged on us b [... read more]ut we figured out how to deal with that :) No hair dryer (we did not need one) Flat screen tv with most chanels in Spanish and a few english. Coffee maker in room. Maid service was excellent every day. We had a breakfast plan included with our booking.All breakfast we had was good.We had the fruit plate one day and all fruit was tasty and nice presentation. Costa Rican breakfast was good and nicely presented. Americano was also good and nicely presented. Our breakfast server was Gloria and she was great. Very friendly and knew what we liked and was ready for us when she saw us. Pool area was nice and good sun shade mix with loungers for seating. Location was a short walk to the beach and other bars and restaurants as well as a grocery store/super mecado. Extremely loud at night into the wee hours due to bars and karaoke bar trying to drown each other out. We had no issues with the noise but i am pretty lt positive people that cannot handle this will be upset and should not consider this hotel at all. Not the hotels fault at all but we all know some people will blame the hotel for this problem which is beyond their control. If you have a rental car we just parked out front with no issues other than guys in fluorescent vests hussling for cash (everywhere we drove in this area of Costa Rica actually) to watch your car like they were official parking guys lol pay them or not it is your choice. I would not but my friend is a sucker so i let him. Overall the grounds were ok and felt safe there. They did check that we were guests so that was reassuring that they paid attention to who was entering the property. The casino was ok,won some cash. Slots and some table games and texas holdem. While not perfect it was pretty good for what we paid and I would return to the Coco Beach Hotel for the right price.

Riu Guanacaste: Great hotel for a five floor walk up.

The lobby is beautiful, the room was fine, the food and service staff were very good. But they did not fix the elevators during our fourteen day stay, it was a five floor walk up. We bought a premium room, would have been better off with a standard room on the first or second floor. We would never return.

Dreams Las Mareas Costa Rica: Absolutely Fabulous Resort

My husband, my mom and myself spent 9 glorious days at this resort and l have to say it was a DREAM! Not only is it a visual stunning resort, it has such a vast selection of food, restaurants, pools and activities. We hung out mostly at the adult pools and l have to say that the service was amazing. The wooden lounge chairs have very comfortable cushions with white terry cloth liners and a rolled up beach towel on every lounge each morning. You can have as many dry towels as you need everyday an [... read more]d there are no uncomfortable plastic wrist bands to wear during your stay. Room service is truly 24 hrs, your bar fridge is really fully stocked every day and the concierge is on top of every request. The rooms are gorgeous and large, each room has a bathtub on the terrace (we had a ground floor room). It was a trip to remember for sure and we will certainly be back. Lastly the staff are the nicest people, always smiling and there favorate thing to say is "it's my pleasure". The only bit of a downer is the hour 40 min drive from the airport, however when you arrive it's all forgotten. Loved, loved this resort!!!!!!

Riu Palace Costa Rica: Beautiful Resort

Wonderful country, amazing people, accommodations were spectacular. Everyone working for the resort bent over backwards to help you. The grounds were kept meticulous, the food was to die for and the entertainment was top notch. Don't think about it, just go! You will not be disappointed.

Riu Palace Costa Rica: Worth Every Minute

I enjoyed every minute of my trip. I enjoyed both the ocean and pool every day. Now the food is amazing not even including the 24 hr all inclusive service! I really couldn't think of one bad thing about my experience and I can't wait till I can't afford this type of vacation again! Costa Rica didn't want me to leave lol my flight got delayed due to mechanical issues in Toronto and we stayed an extra night! I felt so lucky to get checked back into the hotel one extra night:)

Occidental Papagayo: Excellent resort in a beautiful country!

Everything was fantastic! Food was great at all areas! Selection at buffet wasn't great but all good! The grounds were well kept up! Nice to see monkeys iguanas and birds of all kinds! When tide was low the beach was great to walk and explore! The staff in all areas were great! There were language barriers. The entertainment they had was good! More would have been great! Could not be happier with all aspects of this location. Food, service, rooms and facilities all top notch. All staff super friendly and helpful makes you feel they appreciate having you around. Great vacation and loved how clean & safe Hotel and surrounding villages are. Do yourself a favor and stay at this Hotel and visit Costa Rica.

Riu Guanacaste: Amazing resort!

The Riu Guanacaste was outstanding!!! The buffet was enormous with so much selection, unbelievable!!! Grounds were gorgeous and impeccable, staff worked around the clock landscaping and cleaning. The Westin Reserva Conchal Golf Resort & Spa: Super!!!!

Best Western Jaco Beach: Best Western Disc NOT Hotel!!

Non-stop music!! Can't get away from it because the grounds are too small. It's quiet only from 1:00am until around 9:00am. Friday night is Disco night - apparently there are quiet rooms, but if you are not in one - you need the air conditioner & TV on. I recommend ear plugs - forget about opening the window!! Brutal!! Thursday & Saturday volume is about 80%. Monday night is the quietest. Always music at the pool (volume blasts when they have a program) & always music at the beach bar.  [... read more]Pros: No smoking on resort property - only on the town road or beach. (Noise pollution instead!). Clean, friendly staff, good food, great weather. Many Costa Rican families with children (the staff says they like the music & they are the majority). Cons: Wide sandy beach, but public - no shady spots. Transit guide advises you not to go into the town at night - not safe. Get drunk in the hotel not in town!!

Riu Guanacaste: Great value!

This was my second visit to the Riu Guanacaste. The grounds are immaculate and the scenery is beautiful. The service at this resort was excellent from the cleaning staff to the bartenders and the wait staff in the dining rooms. There are lots of amazing opportunities for excursions for families or couples. The food was average and it was the only thing average about this resort. If you've been to a Riu property before you'll know exactly what to expect, I would rate it a 4 star.

Absolutely amazing resort. Very modern and clean... always good food available 24/7. All inclusive buffet was above average always something that you will like and for an all inc I found it well done. Never met such brilliant staff ever.
