Grand Palladium Palace: Definitely 5 Stars from us!
We stayed at the Palace the end of October. The newly renovated rooms were great although I would say there were some design flaws but nothing that effected our stay. The food was amazing! Lots of variety and even the pickiest eater wouldn't have trouble finding something to eat. Although we don't speak a word of Spanish we were still able to communicate and the staff were overall very friendly. My only suggestion is if you don't speak Spanish and need service (maintenance/housekeeping/etc) don'[... read more]t waste your time phoning, just go to the main lobby and speak to someone in person or you will be waiting forever to hear back from someone. I can only assume it was the language barrier. The grounds were impeccably maintained! Beautiful mature gardens/landscapes. Lots to do or if you just want to relax, there are many pools and a long gorgeous beach to lounge and relax on. Would definitely go back!
Just keep in mind you aren't at home and you can't go anywhere expecting perfection or you will always be disappointed wherever you go. Have fun and enjoy the ambiance and atmosphere!

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Beautiful Resort
The Grand Palladium Kantenah is a beautiful resort that provides great value for the money. It definitely provides a high-end vacation experience. The rooms and lobbies are beautifully appointed and spotless. The staff are super friendly and do everything possible to make your stay a great one. The beach is like paradise and the pools very well cared for. There is a variety of activities to participate in if your care to. There is also a large variety of restaurants to choose from. Not al[... read more]l of the food was excellent but there were many a la carte and buffet options to choose from. This resort is 1.5 hours from the airport but we felt it was worth the extra driving. We will definitely go back one day.

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Overall good but.... DO NOT ARRANGE FOR A ROOM UPGRADE UNLESS THE ROOM IS AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY
DO NOT ARRANGE FOR A ROOM UPGRADE UNLESS THE ROOM IS AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY
We arrived for our 5 day vacation and were provided with a coupon book upon check in at the Kantenah lobby. We asked about the upgrade that was offered in the coupon book and Jorge at the desk told us we could get an upgraded room in about an hour and a half. We left our bags with the bell man and went to explore the hotel. Came back in 2 hours and we were told it would be another hour. We returned to the desk in a[... read more]n hour and were told to go to our original room for the first night, that they were working on the new room and we would get it the next day.
We had to check out of the first room we were in by 11 the next day. We asked if we could get right into our upgraded room but were told by Gabriel it wouldn't be ready until 3 pm. We decided to go for it, checked out of the room, put our bags into storage and went on our merry way until the 3 pm check in time.
Not really a good arrangement because we were paying for a room for that whole day but were essentially "roomless".
At 3 pm we arranged for our new upgraded room after paying the $300 usd upgrade fee.
Cecelio, the bell man, took us to our new room, "room 2". When we turned on the ventilation system we were overtaken by raw sewage smell. We called Cecelio back to the room and he agreed that we could absolutely not stay in that room. He went back to the desk, arranged for the new room, came back with the keys and took us there. When we opened the door we discovered that the room was already occupied. Unreal...we were very frustrated by now. Cecelio called the front desk, made arrangements and took us to another room nearby. Cecelio was apologetic, professional and represented your hotel in a very good way.
Room 3...we arrived at the room the front desk told Cecelio to take us to and found it was already occupied! Unreal...and very frustrating! Cecelio immediately called the front desk, again, to determine where to take us.
Finally! Room 4 was lovely, clean and in a wonderful location. It took us a full 27 hours to get there and we were "roomless for at least 6 hours.
Towels...there were no towels available the morning of day 3. We walked a long way to 3 different huts and were very disappointed we had turned in our towels for our towel cards the night before.
Overall the hotel was really great, the food was great and almost all of the hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. The entertainment wasn't bad.
We were, however, disappointed with a very disorganized room upgrade ordeal that cost us very valuable time and more money. If we had known how big a hassle it would be we would have simply stayed in our original room. The hotel should have made this a better experience for us.

Although it was a bit of a rocky check in having to wait until 3 before we could get in our rooms and arrived at 12, our stay was fantastic!!! I loved how we could go to the other parts of grand palladium and have meals and drinks in other restaurants and enjoy the shows they put on as well.
The staff was amazing, very attentive and willing to help with any questions we had.

Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Great vacation
My fiance and myself just returned from the Grand Palladium Punta Cana Oct 10 and we had a great time. Got there and was upgraded to the Love Suite, what a room, it had a jacuzzi and upstairs loft with a king size bed. The maid did a great job as well. This being my first time to the Palladium chain and her 4th and we weren't dissappointed, The food was great and the service was pretty good. The beaches and grounds were beautiful. The weather was nice and hot even when Hurricane Matthew missed t[... read more]he DR to the west.
The 24hr sports bar was great with good service but the food was a bit on the cold side.
Went to 3 A La Cartes with no issues at all. The Japanese and steakhouse food and service was very good.
We decided to go to CoCo Bongos, that was a great decision on our behalf. The shows, crowd and atomsphere was so full of energy. Had a great time there.
I would recomment this place to anyone. We will be back for sure

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Great Resort
I just came back from spending seven days at the Grand Palladium Kantenah Resort and Spa. We originally choose this resort because we wanted to stay in the Mayan Suite. The suites were all booked so we took a chance that we could upgrade once we got there.
After a long ride in a bus with no A/C, we were greeted by Kenia at the check-in desk and were able to upgrade to a Mayan Suite for half our stay. Kenia was really nice and sweet. We also met Cecelio one of the shuttle bus drivers and he was[... read more] friendly and explained everything to us.
The Mayan Suite was everything I imagined and more, why would you shower indoors when you have an outdoor shower? I think my boyfriend and I were having four to five showers a day. The rest of the room was lovely, a huge bed, a hammock on the balcony and a view of the beach, and the mini bar was always stocked with plenty of water and other beverages. We were just steps away from the beach and could run back to run in seconds if we needed anything. The upgrade was totally worth it. On that side of the beach was a small little beach bar, Rodrigo, Irvin and Liz were fabulous, fun and friendly. We were far from the restaurants but the Mayan Suite was worth it.
We switched to a deluxe suite halfway through our stay and that room was nice as well. We were closer to the restaurants and the paths between the villas and the beach was convenient and useful.
The food at the buffets was good, a lot of variety but we preferred the a la carte restaurants. We ate at the steak house three times. I like that we didn't have to make reservations. It was low season so maybe that's why we didn't have to wait too long to eat. We also made use of the coupons that the resort provided us especially on wine for our meals. As I said the steak house was our favourite. Omar at the steak house was awesome, he was friendly, and his recommendations were spot on. I also have to mention Mariebela the hostess, always smiling.
The Brazilian restaurant was our second favourite, Italian and Thai were okay.
We would go for drinks at the Kantenah lobby bar, where Maria served us and she was so much fun. The sports bar also came in handy for late night snacks.
The week was fabulous, we had great weather, the service was good, an awesome beach where the water was calm. There were a couple of days where the sea was a bit rough and the shores rocky.
There was one issue when we checked out, the bell hop picked up our luggage and left without us and we had to walk to the lobby wondering where our luggage was.
All in all a great resort, huge so be prepared to walk a lot.
Room Tip: Mayan Suite is the way to go.

Green Features: I'm impressed with it's environment friendly practices and great to see the staff put it in practice. It was an inspiration to me.

Grand Palladium Palace: Grand Palladium Palace Resort
Just arrived home from our lovely vacation which was awesome. The resort was immaculate, room was clean and beautiful. The food was great with a lot of selection at the buffett. Most people spoke English which was a blessing, since our spanish is limited. Overall, we are going back next year as it was very relaxing, maybe a bit too relaxing. In my opinion they could improve on the night life, but that is minor.
I would give this resort 4.5 out of 5.

TRS Turquesa: Very good experience some exceptions
The hotel is very lovely, 5 stars to the grounds keepers and the house keepers, 5 stars to staff in French and Gourmet dinning rooms especially dinner. Bar staff at swim up pools 5 star to 6 star. Small points to consider: visited concierge 3 times in the premium deluxe royal suites. There was no other guests in each case scenario. Staff either made a call out when we sat down or started typing on phone or computer. We asked about reservations and they ignored us or just offered a hostile s[... read more]tare. On our the third attempt we requested what was on the menu. A hostile response was "what do you think... meat". We noticed this same type of treatment at the royal suites pool bar near the beach to another guest and were treated to hostility and poor service here only. The other bars were excellent and the service was 5 star. We choose to walk to the other beach bar on the regular side. Excellent service. We have vacationed at the Jamaica palladium...all 5 star to 6star treatment. We have vacationed twice at the Puerto Vallarta resort and also found 5 star treatment. We tip generously on all occasions. We are professionals that do not overeat or overdrink on vacation.

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton
Overall it was OK.  It started off somewhat slow, with our flight taking off a little late from the Montreal Airport, and then having to wait on the shuttle bus for over an hour once landing in Montego Bay.  We then had another hour and half wait at check-in once arriving at the resort.  We finally made it to our room at approximately 12:30 Sunday morning local time.  To say the least, we were done for the day and the night.
The next morning, despite being on the second floor, we ha[... read more]d a little uninvited visitor in the room, that made a dramatic appearance by landing on my wife's head.  My wife drew open the curtains only to have a lizard land on her head.  Needless to say she was startled and in turn she startled the rest of us.  I did manage to capture the little bugger by trapping it in a glass.  (see attached photo)  Thinking back it was pretty funny.
The room was spacious and had all the essential amenities, one thing missing was the remote control for the television.  I had requested one that morning and once again the following afternoon, but was never supplied one, so therefore no TV for the duration of the vacation.  The other room complaint was the pull out sofa bed for the kids, it was extremely firm (actually hard, no give whatsoever) to point where our younger daughter had to sleep with my wife and I.
The beach was beautiful, the water was clear and calm all week long. Â The pool was inviting and refreshing. Â The food was excellent with plenty of variety.
We did managed to have a good time despite the issues with the room.  I probably would not go back to this particular resort, but more than likely will go back to Jamaica at some point.

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Amazing Vacation
We have just had an amazing week here, traveled Sept. 3 - Sept 11.
This was 3rd visit, to the Riviera Maya first time at the Grana Palladium
What Can I Say : "IT WAS A PARADISE"
Hotel
This resort is huge it is made up of at least 4 resorts, where you can move around in 3 of them. but once you get your bearings it easy to navigate around. Within the 3 resorts you can move around in there are large pools with great swim up bars and then there are scattered smaller Adult Only pools.
Ther[... read more]e are plenty of trains to take you around the resorts where the maximum wait time between trains is 15 min. The beach is only a 5 minute walk. The rooms are large and spacious and amenities are great. Tea/coffee facilities and mini bar constantly stocked with water, beer, coke ,fanta and sprite. The grounds are immaculate and maintained constantly by the army of gardeners.
BEACH
The Beach is beautiful, with nice white sand and clear blue water. There were enough sun loungers available, even with the resort as full as it was.
The Beach although is very long many parts of it are very rocky with few areas where to swim a bit full of people, but the rocky areas are absolutely great for snorkeling right there on the beach
The 24 hour snack bar is on the Beach right next the bar which is also open 24 hours.
FOOD
BUFFET-
The buffet was GREAT! Lots of choices, you would never go hungry. There is all kinds of options with mostly an international selection, only downside is that Mexican food is a bit scarce.
A LA CARTES
We did the following.......
Mexican
This was a great simple and elegant restaurant to go to.
Japanese
The tepenyanki show table is a must. The show was good, it was entertaining and involved all at the table helping us make friends with those at the table.
Overall, we had the most AMAZING time
We will definitely be back......
The customer service is exceptional Thank you. The staff is great the customer service at this hotel is above and beyond and we will be returning in a few years to annoy you all again!
Great job Gran Palladium Kantenah. We will be back.

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Great Resort
Everything about this resort was amazing. The room service, the rooms, the food selection, everything. I recommend going on the catamaran cruise for a day. The only disappointment for me was the beaches as they were filled with rocks and seaweed. I was warned about this as Negril is where the nicest beach is, which is what I got to see on the catamaran cruise! Everything in Jamaica is relaxed. This hotel is large with everything you'll need to have. Amazing service!

Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Small Things Add Up
AIRPORT
We traveled in late August this year. This was our 1st time going to a resort in Punta Cana. All travel arrangements to and from the airport were great (just hold on to your bags as porters will try to grab them out of your hands for a walk less than 200 feet).
RECEPTION
When we arrived at the resort, we were greeted with a tropical drink and a cold towel (lobby is not enclosed). We had, during the booking process, requested adjoining rooms. When we arrived, the rooms were nowhe[... read more]re near each other. They eventually got us closer, but reception made it seem like it was a hassle.
ROOMS
We booked a junior suite and a deluxe room as we were told that you could get adjoining rooms, but not the same type. The junior suite was exactly what you see on the website. Large, beautiful view of ocean and beach, all amenities. We were very pleased (even though we had to wait until after 8:30pm to get in). While waiting, we went to the deluxe room. It was NOWERE near what is depicted on the website. It was a standard room, closer to the pool and beach. Don't be mislead by the website!
The next day, we requested the room beside or across from the junior suite. We were told the were sold out during our stay. We were deliberately misinformed. These rooms were vacant during our entire stay. Staff simply didn't want to accommodate the change even though we were willing to pay for a upgrade.
We made the best of it despite the minor inconvenience and reception staff attitude.
VENDORS EVERYWHERE
Do not expect to relax on the beach, by the pool, getting towels, walking to restaurants or walking around the resort. You are constantly bothered by vendors!!!!! There is no escape. Vendors selling excursions, straw hats, cigars, spa treatments, etc. The worst is the location of towel service. In order to get your beach towels, you had to go to an excursion desk where they would often not give you your towels until you listened to their pitch. Every single time. A real pain!!
FOOD
OK, food is subjective so take this as you see fit: Our best a la carte meal was at the Mexican restaurant and it was good at best. The other a la carts we attended (Italian, Steakhouse, Japanese) were very disappointing. The first come, first served method is also a pain. We arrived at the Italian restaurant around 7pm and were advised of a 1.5hr wait time. The adjacent restaurant was the Steakhouse, so we went there instead (no wait). 1st resort where you couldn't make reservations. This too was a big pain. The buffets were ok. The food selections never changed (for breakfast, lunch or dinner). We tended to eat the same thing day after day. Again, one persons meat is another persons poison. Take what you want from this.
CUSTOMER SERVICE
I have already noted how we were treated by reception regarding the room, so I will move pass that. In general, staff were pleasant. Some staff would look you in the eye and walk right past when you were requesting anything. Others went out of their way to offer you an enjoyable experience. It took 3 calls and one face to face to get the bar fridges restocked. even then, it was no where near daily (every 2-3 days). Small pain, but we paid for the service, it should be received.
BEACH
The beach itself is gorgeous! A lot of lounges available, shade if you want it, bars on the beach. The turquoise waters were amazing. Beach was well maintained.
POOLS
The pools were very clean, tons of lounges (again with or without shade), nice atmosphere. water was cool too, so it felt very refreshing when you jumped in!
