VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Repeat Customers Abound

This was our 3rd time back at this resort - and we typically have never gone back to a twice because we love to explore different places. Why go back 3 times? We met many others coming back 5 -10 - 15 times! WOW! Why? This is not a 5 star resort - not a large resort (compared to others) - limited childrens activities - so why come back? Well, we are retired and just want a place of "Rest & Relaxation" as we wait for winter to pass in Canada. There are a lot of Canadians there. (maybe even 70% :) [... read more] The food is decent - the beach is very nice - the place is older but kept up well - the rooms are ok - the price for 2 weeks inclusive with flight was only $2200. It will be hard to beat this value for money. The only issue we had this time was that the hotel ignored our 4 emails to request a room on 3rd floor in the Catalina building. (This was due to mobility issues of some of our party of 4) We were left standing in the lobby for 1 hour while they did who knows what. The rooms were actually available - and they finally left us have them. No one there (including management) could really tell us why 4 seniors after traveling all day were left with no room for 1 hour) This left a bit of a sour taste in our mouth!

Punta Cana Princess: Nice and small resprt

The resort is a nice size. The grounds are nicely kept and staff work very hard and are friendly. We are not ‘foodies’ and found the Italian and Tex-Mex restaurants were good. The main buffet was better than the beach one. One complaint, but it is everywhere, needing to get up at 5:30 to get lounge chairs by the pool. Not how I want to spent our vacation. Lots of sargassum, but staff tried to clean the beach…just too much of it. Animation team were trying, but I am there to relax and not do aerobics. Overall, nice compact resort.

Serenade All Suites Adults Only Resort: Amazing Resort

We had a lovely week and the quality of this resort is directly responsible for that. The seaweed at the beach was not lovely but not a deal breaker. The bathroom barn door often stuck and was difficult to get open. The coffee expresso was lovely and our balcony size was lovely.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Group of 14!

We travelled to this resort as a group of 14 people ages ranging from 2-73. We all had an excellent time. The rooms were great, spacious, and set up nicely although there are no dressers to unpack your clothing. Pools were cleaned daily, although with the amount of swimmers had a film on top of what seems like sunscreen. Beaches were also cleaned daily but with the constant waves there was always some seaweed left behind throughout the day. No issues with the food. Went to three à la carte and they were all delicious and hot. Reservations for chopsticks needed through the app. Mexican restaurant was a wait in line to be seated and the Italian restaurant gave us a buzzer and we had to stay close until it went off. We would definitely return for another visit in the future.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Absolutely lovely

Great staff, clean grounds, rooms were good. Nothing to complain about ? Not the place for singles. Lots of hot water. At times chairs were a bit of a challenge to find. Beach was fine sadly too many jelly fish in the water.

Zel Punta Cana - All Suites: Relaxing Week in the Sun

Zel Punta Cana was exactly what we were looking for. It's a smaller resort with beautiful grounds and pools everywhere. The suites are amazing, we were in a ground floor master suite which had an indoor and an outdoor jacuzzi, our own yard with sun loungers and a palapa and a lovely outdoor sitting area under the roof. The interior was spacious with a king bed, full size dining table, living room and lovely bathroom. It was always easy to book one of the restaurants for the evening. Service was  [... read more]fast and very courteous. The steakhouse was our favorite but we enjoyed the Asian as well. The buffet was small with a good selection of food but the temperature of the food was not consistent. The pizza place just outside the buffet was also nice, they will make a pizza to order or you can choose from the selection they have pre-made. Even though the resort is not on the beach there are frequent shuttles to take you there. We never had trouble getting a lounger and the food at the beach restaurant was good. Drinks throughout the resort were well done and not watered down like many places. There are palapas and loungers all around the pools so it was never a problem finding a place to unwind and relax. The resort doesn't have a traditional front desk so there can be issues changing money into smaller bills for tips. Make sure to bring lots of small bills with you to tip this fantastic staff. over all we really enjoyed our week and would return.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Very nice resort !

We found the hotel was very clean , the grounds were kept quite beautiful ❤️ we enjoyed our room , swim up king ... Perfect for us ! I would like it if they would improve on the food. It was ok ..not great by all means !!! But not bad. The service was hit and miss. Some staff were great and some a little rude. Shout out to Sandra who looked after us all week. Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: Very Nice Resort

This is a very typical 4 star resort in Punta Cana. Grounds are well kept and rooms are comfortable. Staff is excellent at their job making sure you are happy. Restaurants are average compared to other resorts. All in a very nice resort with an excellent staff.

Emotions by Hodelpa Puerto Plata: Absolutely amazing

This resort is absolutely awesome. Rooms were very clean and done everyday. Food was beyond amazing and the staff were so wonderful. Absolutely loved and definitely will be our January trip next year. Only thing we didn't like were the very pushy people trying to sell you time shares. Beyond it's annoying and would follow you to the beach. We had to be rude after many attempts to get rid of them

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Good holiday destination

The hotel was very good. Good food, service and location. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Good variety of restaurants. The area near hotel was safe and great for walking. one area for improvement would be the gym equipment.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Amazing Resirt

The rooms were great, food was very good and service was amazing ? Had the best 10 days with no complaints ????????????? Kevin from trip central gave us amazing service Only 20 minutes from airport

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Worst experience ever

The service was absolutely the worst. I have never seen a place have worst food and service from staff. The food was always undercooked and had the worst taste. All family fell ill because of it, and we've never felt I'll on any of our other vacations. Worst still, the resort was so big - I was literally working on a to-do list to take carts from one place to another and rarely got a chance to sit and relax which is the purpose of a vacation. Never going back.

Tough start with check in.. took almost an hour, got bribed that I would get the best room but I already paid for premium? Overly crowded. Gotta wake up at 6am to reserve a pool chair. Few of us got sick

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Nice surprise

This resort was more than we expected. The front desk staff were outstanding and went beyond their regular responsibilities. Special shout-out to Danny, the general manager. He bent over backwards to help with resolving a reservation issue that we had. The entertainment staff was top notch and Victor was the best. Lots of fun.

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Nice, but not what advertised....

The hotel sat empty for the last 2 years and just re-opened in November, and you could tell. Our toilet never worked the first day, they fixed it same day though. We lost all water 3 times in our 2 weeks. Inconvenient when its out for hours at a time before dinner. Our sliding glass door didn't close properly. Rooms facing the town and the hotel entertainment court had to put up with loud music until 3am. First from the hotel entertainment until 11pm, then from the town disco/bar?? continued unt [... read more]il 3am?? we moved rooms to the poolside and it was quiter there. Management told me they were trying to get town council to deal with the late music. Also got undercooked hamburgers at the beach bbq, they should use a meat themometer. All that aside, the staff and all the food everywhere else is awesome. The buffet is good, the 2 a la carte restaurants are nice, great food. Awesome people work there. We went there for the location. Samana Bay is a great whale watching bay from Jan to March. We went to the Eurostar Grand Caycao thinking it was a 5 star and payed for a 5 star. But its at best a 4 star.

El Beso Adults Only at Ocean El Faro: LOVED IT!!!

This property is beautiful , well maintained. The rooms are spacious and the balconies are great size with bird swing on them. There are so many pools to choose from and they are large and well maintained. The only thing is if you want a chair by pool you need to get up at 5AM to put your towels out. The beach is not nice at all , but i am not a beach person. The entertainment was great, always something to do at various parts of the property. The a la carte were decent. The staff were a little rude at EL BESO reception. Denise and I were only ones not given two double beds and we checked in first. I made them switch us the next day , but they were very rude about it. The pool staff were awesome , especially DAVIE . I would definitely go back and would recommend this place to others

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Love the resaort

The grounds are very well maintained. not enough garbage containers around. The entertainment people are great specially Chocalate. miss having foam parties when it was BeLive. I have been at this location 10 times and will continue to come back as long as I get treated the way I have in the past.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Definitely a 5 star resort!

This resort explefies a 5 star experience; with its attention to detail in all services provided. From the gourmet food, and the diversity of the menu, to the amazing waiting staff, pool entertainment staff, and helpful front desk staff. The landscape, rooms, pools, beach and bars were all super clean and picturesque.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Amazing Resort!

We love this resort, we have been there 3 times just returned this past week and plan to go back next January and extending our stay to 10 days or 2 weeks. It's a beautiful boutique style resort, small everything close is close by, the rooms, restaurants, two pools and beach. The food is amazing at the a la cartes and buffet with lots of choice and all delicious. It's well kept up and staff are constantly cleaning around the resort. The ocean isn't crystal clear but don't let deter you it's very [... read more] calm as it's in a bay, no big waves or undertow. We love it there.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Great food

We were unhappy with the room that was offered to us, so we upgraded to a brand new room, WOW it was just beautiful. Food in Buffet was really good, although the line up to get in at times was more than 20 minutes, I understand that was because they are renovating another buffet restaurant, so it was doubled in guests. We had steak, japanese, and greek ala cartes- they were all exceptional!!! I would go back again!
