Resonance Blu Varadero: Very bad hotel

We’re should I start no food they ran out of food and pop daily food was cold and tasted like garbage I preordered a room on the second or 3 floor when I got there they gave me a ground floor …. Omg the rooms r dirty they smell like mold the cockroaches are out of this world overall a bad resort to go to !!!!!!!!

Grand Memories Varadero: Extremely Dissapointing

1. The room bed linen was never changed in the 7 days that we were there. We had to ask for towels, and were given clean bath towels only once. The bed sheets and pillows smelled like body odor from previous guests from the day we checked in, and were never changed in the 7 days that we were there. 2. We did not receive clean beach towels, and the pool side towel place was always closed. We receive a clean beach towel on the last day. 3. We had to ask for more toilet paper, and were given [... read more] some 2 days later. 4. We found 4 cockroaches in the bathroom on different days. 5. The safe in the room we were given was not working. 6. Upon check in and asking for rooms in Sanctuary, we were told there were none available. We found out on the last day that Sanctuary was in fact open and available. 7. The beach snack bar service was very poor. My boyfriend did not even receive his order of food. We were waiting for over an hour and we had to leave without it. 8. The beach bar ran out of beer, and was not replenished until the next day. 9. The food at the buffet was either cold or ran out and not replenished. 10. We attempted to go to the pool, but found the water murky and pool mouldy. We were told that we would be in the adult only section, and were looking for a peacful and pleasant experience. But clearly we were not in the adult section. There were loud unruly kids occupying all areas. 11. The hygiene and cleanliness were at an extreme low, and the service at the beach snack bar were very obviously catered to the large number of locals staying at the hotel, and who were being served piles of food, where as the rest of us were being served after them although we arrived before them. And we were then being told they could not serve us certain things, never returned with some food orders. This was not acceptable. The only saving grace was the beach and the ocean. We will not be staying at this resort again, and do not recommend. What would make this right for us is a refund, or a credit to a different resort, to make up for the disappointing experience at Grand Memories, Varadero.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Ugly Resort

My room is old, ugly, smell moldy, the curtain has little worms plant, and mosquitoes. I have no phone in my room for my entire week. I complain about that, but she ignore me . The bathroom is smell stinky and looks dirty. All the washrooms in the resort are stinky and dirty. Not all the faucets have water or only 1 or 2 faucets is working . Some of the toilet in the facility there is no flush water, broken and the door also. Too many flies in the buffet table. 😫 Some plates are still dirty.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Great resort

Great resort for people who are looking to relax, since it's adults only. But be aware that there will still be 18 yrs old, who like to drink and be loud. Beach is amazing. So close to this part of the resort.

Memories Trinidad Del Mar: Amazing helpful staff

The grounds were well kept. Daily staff were constantly on the move trimming the trees, grass etc. Bars were busy but well staffed so wait times were minor. The pool was clean and bright, well kept but shutting it down at 6pm was just annoying. Housekeeping staff were on the job nicely. Room was always made up promptly. Rooms are big and bright with an ample balcony and two nice chairs.It was however lacking a table that would have made the balcony great. Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Don’t go to this resort

We booked our vacation based on the reviews here and I went to this resort with an open mind since it’s after the pandemic. Here is what you really need to know. -the beach is wonderful! I was extremely excited to see calamari on the menu the first day but by day 4… I can’t see any more calamari! For the food is basic, you won’t be hungry but you won’t be satisfied either. The accommodations- the rooms are in need of repair and they are extremely outdated. Clean but outdated The service- poor! I was used to the happy people of Cuba and enjoyed my interactions in the past, but it feel like they don’t care any longer and are just hunting for tips The resort- outdated and in need of repair. I would have thought with so much time on our hands during Covid that they would have taken this time to repair and upgrade their hotels. Other notes: The music sucks and is very disturbing and not you expect from an adult only resort. Typically they are classier and have soft music playing. Not music like you’re in the late night club. The wifi situation is poor, always having to ask for more wifi and constantly having to sign into use your rations. The door keys constantly stop working and when you’re going to the third floor and have to clean all the way back to reception to get your key fixed again! Very annoying. My overall opinion, is that if you are prepared, it’s a cost effective vacation but you should really only count on the beach…and nothing else We all came home sick!

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Perfect Vacation

My husband and I have been to this resort 8 times.. they have never disappointed us.. we travelled to Varadero Cuba the week of June 9th for 11 days.. We stayed at Sanctuary the adult portion of Grand Memories. Our plane arrived at 7pm, we had a taxi waiting for us and arrived at Sanctuary at 745pm. Alled is the beach bartender.. Barbie is the supervisor for food and beverage a really sweet girl with a beautiful smile that she shares with everyone .. the rooms are a little tired but they are spotless .. we don’t go for the rooms we go for the people and the beach.. and they are above and beyond. They are working very hard to get back to where they were before Covid..I We had great food ..bacon and eggs every morning and never left hungry after any meal.. we ended our vacation happy and relaxed .. A big thank you to management and staff .. we will definitely return ♥️♥️

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Still Fantastic

The Sanctuary is still wonderful we just returned . First trip since Covid but our 8th time at the Sanctuary. The staff are so friendly they seem like family. Everyone from management to the maids do everything to make our vacation fantastic. The food is very good you will not go hungry. Some shortages but only a few ( Diet cola) we had a amazing trip and can’t wait to go back.

Jose Mario our Butler was helpful as ever. Love his sense of humour and attention to detail especially organizing our taxis. Yeny is a gem, she kept our room so organized and clean. The beds and oversized pillows are comfortable. Please look after the resort dogs and cat. They’re our pets away from home and are adorable. My favourite dish was the spaghetti bolognese. The mango ice cream and fried calamari are a hit. You can taste and see the Italian influence of new Chef Enzo. In the lounge bar Liosdani treated us like gold. He is a sincere person, works hard, always smiling. Anet is a sweetheart and engages in conversations with guests. JJ surprised us with fried calamari and Adriana knows how to make delicious Frappuccino. The cart drivers are entertaining with great personalities accompanied with big smiles. Happy to have conversations with Yamaisy and Juana. Beautiful women, so outgoing and interesting to talk to. Definite asset to the Media Relation and Butler teams. Always treated with love and respect during our stay from the lady who gives out the beach towels, gardeners, butlers, cart drivers, lifeguards, Hobie Cat crew, restuarant staff, Roxy and staff at the snack bar, lounge bartenders and other employees who know us but we don’t know them by name. We are even known at the buffet by the servers and of course Yurialis. Butler Norvi and Manager Carlos are real gentleman. The legend Jesús Gomez is world class with his years of experience and well loved by guests!!! Hope Management heard our request to move him back bartending in the lounge. Can hardly wait to see him again in August! We would be amidst not to mention the real, loveable character Alex Basanta on the beach. Alex works way too hard, always on the go putting out lounge chairs and running, yes running to serve guests drinks on the beach. He is truly loved by guests and a good ambassador representing the Sancutary. Go Yankees! Our observations were the excess amount of salt on the food & slow service in the restaurant. This was mentioned by a number of guests and Management were improving the situation. Don’t forget to bring bug spray. Although an all inclusive resort, please tip for your service in the lounge bar, restuarant, snack bar and Alex on the beach. It’s a personal decision to tip but the service you receive warrants tipping. We were surprised the lack of tipping. Our special thanks to the Manager Hilda who is the pillar of the Sancutary!

Room had blood and stains on furniture, everyone had food poisoning, slushies have mould in them, clothes and food stolen by maids, and I got a rusty fishing hook stuck in my foot from inside the pool

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Excellent (Diamond Club)

My sister and me, we just finished a week at this hotel, Memories Flamenco, Cayo Coco. Everything was good, the room was clean, the beach is beautiful, the staff were super friendly. we had Diamond Club bracelets, our room had very convenient location right next to the Diamond Club restoran, beach, pool, lobby, basically everything. We could return to Cuba and would be happy to stay in Diamond Club again.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Staff were great

Staff were great and the beach was beautiful. Unfortunately we did not get a Lakeview room that we upgraded too. Our room had very little warm water let alone hot water. We had a leak in the ceiling causing me to slip and hurt my ankle. The a la carters were good however the buffet was something else. Tons and tons of flies over everything and the food was all cold. The pool itself was nice however the water was cold. The beach was absolutely beautiful and that made the trip.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: great place and excellent service

I went there with my brother and we had the time of our life!! The room was nice and clean. When it comes to the food there were lots of varieties and different choices at the buffet, the service there was outstanding. Our waitresses Yulie and Nairelys were awesome. The entertainment staff were also awesome. Yuni and Marlon Brando with the daily morning stretching the Zumba and the beach volleyball kept us busy pretty much the whole day! We are definitely coming back!

Memories Jibacoa: Lovely vacation

All of the amenities in this hotel were lovely; rooms, grounds personnel, food, ocean, shows etc. The food is served to you by masked staff, and when walking through the dining area, you were required to wear your mask. One small annoyance was that some of the food lines were a little long.... having waited 15 minute to get your meat grilled, there was another line for bead, then another for salad etc. If you are a person who is content to stay put at a lovely resort, this place is ideal. Memories Jibacoa: Wonderful resort!

I chose this particular hotel (Memories Jualisco) for the location. I wanted to be close to Havana and I wanted a resort where I would be able to snorkel right from the beach. This resort did not disappoint! The snorkeling was great, lots of fish and nice coral to see right in front of the hotel. The beach was excellent and great for swimming and cooling off, with a nice sandy bottom and calm waters to play in. Lots of bars to choose from, however they were sometimes out of certain items so drinks were limited. In fairness this could be contributed to the import difficulties due to COVID. The restaurants were all good, although I missed the food spices (bring your own) and some condiments. They did not have everything every day, but they managed to keep the salad bar, pasta bar, dessert bar and meat selections well stocked. Excellent selection of fresh fish & meats for grilling every day. The rooms are dated, but very large and functional. Not a lot to do at the resort, but it was great for relaxing (no Boom Boom music all day). However, as I wished Havana is only 45 minutes away. You can get a vintage taxi with driver and guide for a day trip into Havana for $120 Cdn. Our only disappointment is that the evening entertainment was really poor. This could be due to COVID, but the last two times we were in Cuba the evening entertainment was fantastic at both resorts.

Resort need update,but overall it’s okay.The staff was very polite and friendly.The food was very good.The beach it’s really nice with white sand,pools are nice and clean.We had great time.Stayed eleven days at the resort.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Great time, great place

The place was overall good. They upgraded me to a suite so no complaints. All does not work perfect (bath drain was too slow), my first room has little hot water (I think they upgraded me for that reason), though I did not complain. But I enjoyed the place. Internet is far from great, but I did not come to be on the web. Cell reception is good. Food is ok, way better than all the stories I heard about Cuba (if was my first time in this country). Last but not least staff was great. Everyone always seemed in a good mood, smiling, whiling to help. I was surprised to see who everyone knew at least some English, sometimes quite well, in addition to French. So I would definitely go back. Good value for the price.

Very large hotel and very inviting Don't drink the water, the food could have been a little better ..your choice to party hard or relaxed you can do both.frendly people. Are also very nice. I think over all very good

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Would recommend this hotel

Sanctuary at Grand Memories is nestled in a quite corner of the Grand Sanctuary Resort. Although we had full access to the entire complex, we barely strayed from Sanctuary. Everything you need is there , especially if you enjoy a much more subdued environment. The rooms were very nice and there was ample hot water and pressure. I was pleasantly surprised to have very good wifi. The private beach was not crowded and the water was so warm in May. Staff at Sanctuary paid strict attention to mask wearing protocol. You could still see them smile dispite the mask🤗 Guests were almost entirely Canadian with a smattering of Brits and Europeans . Guests had a more casual attitude towards mask wearing . Each room was assigned a "Butler" These young men were very attentive and booked all of your restaurant meals and arranged excursions or drivers.. They did this and more without ever being a bother .I would highly recommend Sanctuary for those who enjoy a quieter environment .

Memories Jibacoa: Another great stay

A solid 4 star resort. The main draw for us here is the reef to snorkel on. Never fails to impress. The resort was well run and they are coping well with shortages in Cuba. Food was plentiful and COVID protocols were strictly adhered to. Buffet is open but the tables are roped off about 3 feet so you point and they put the food on your plate. Not sure if I ate more or less because of it 😊. This was our 4th visit and and 5th may be in the future for us at some point.
