Trip Central and Air Canada were excellent, booking and flights were without hassle and on time.
However, beware of the fine print. Having stayed in a number of Adult Only Resorts, this Sandos advertises an adult only section, which is accurate. But, they fail to mention that the restaurants are not adult only. In fact my wife and I sat next to a screaming child at dinner one evening. Don't go here if you are expecting an adult only experience.
Also, I don't understand why there was canned beer[... read more] in my room, and available at 2 Select Club bars, but the bartenders refused to give us canned beer at the beach or pool?
The final item which I detested was the seemingly endless sales pitch by the Sandos staff. First of all, they ask you to visit the "travel desk" to book return transportation to the airport, but the real intent is to sell you an excursion.
They also ask you to visit guest services for a tour of the resort, again, the real intent is to sell you a time-share.
Same deal at the pool, always being asked to go on a boat trip or get a massage.
I don't want to be bothered on vacation, they should make you aware of the amenities, but not ask everyday.

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Good resort
Hotel very nice. Room were in one and two story buildings dotted throughout the property. Paid extra to be close to pool and beach...felt worth it. Two comfortable beds, stocked fridge {Beer, water, pop) good sized bathroom along with balcony w hammock. Jungle lined walkway connects areas of resort. One big pool divided in two by swim up bar. One side quiet, the other for pool games. Beach front large with plenty of shade. Sadly not an easy entry into ocean...stairs into water off long pie[... read more]r.
Food was ok. Breakfast at buffet was tiresome...coffee tasted like it was powdered/instant. Lunch served in poolside/steak house building. Usually good selection. Also a burger/salad/hotdog/nacho snack bar by beach. Chinese rest. was good food and atmosphere. Mexican rest. was lit too bright and food was ok. Steakhouse was good. Tenderloin chewy, but beef back ribs awesome (too much bbq sauce dumped on).
Staff were all great, grounds beautiful, food ok, pool and beach large though entering ocean required walk to pier. 20 mins to town/airport. Stocked bar fridge. Free Wifi throughout resort...even beach. I would go back happily.

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Riu Palace, Los Cabos, Mexico - AMAZING RESORT
This resort is situated on the Pacific Ocean - (actually the Sea of Cortez) where it meets the Pacific Ocean at El Arco the famous rock. The weather was amazing - we stayed for two weeks Feb 28 - March 14th. The first week there wasn't a cloud in the sky, the second week only one day where it got windy in the afternoon.
We saw a baby whale come to about 10 feet of shore then finally made it to safety. From our resort we saw El Arco, lots of cruise ships came in to dock, saw sea lions every day[... read more] and whales come close. The view was amazing. As for food - buffet in am had everything you wanted, crispy bacon, eggs any way you wanted them, croissants, cereal, potatoes, meat, cheese, etc. Lunch buffet - there were two of them, one was the Mexican restaurant where you could order off the menu or use the buffet, the other restaurant was a buffet. Dinner - there were 5 al la cartes - Japanese, Italian, International, Steakhouse, Indian. We had sirloin steak with lobster, beef tenderloin which was to die for, ossabucco, lobster, shrimp, mussels, crab and many types of meats. We ate so much.
Rooms were good - faced ocean and pools. Bar lounge was huge and bartenders knew our orders after the first evening.
Overall - we were totally satisfied with this resort and will be going back again. We have been to several other Riu resorts (Costa Rica, Aruba, DR, Jamaica etc) but this by far has been THE BEST ONE YET.
Everyone was so friendly, the staff and other people at the resort as visitors made our stay unique.

Krystal Grand Los Cabos: Happy With Stay
I'll preface this with saying that each person has their own set of expectations and sense of what is deemed as bad, good, and great. One person's great might be another person's 'ok'.
My family (wife, and 1.5-yr old son) had a good stay at Reflect Krystal. The resort was clean, as was our room. Generally nice staff, no issues. Food was good, but I wouldn't say great. It definitely wasn't bad though. Lots of options. Beach was nice, as were pool areas. Nice little kids pool, too. [... read more]A note about the Residence building - when we researched it prior to going, people were saying it was across a street from the resort. I had this image of it literally being across a street...it wasn't. It's more like a little road that winds through between some of the resorts around there. There is by no means regular traffic on it, and it wasn't a big deal to walk across it. The rooms in that building are nice, and they have little balconies. There were some nice extras that you would normally pay more for at an average hotel - grab as many towels as you want, poolside, without having to give your room number, free drinks in bar fridge in room, and some other little things.
Not a bad place. Enjoy!

We loved everything about this resort! The lush tropical feel, the access to multiple resorts, the outstanding service and the fantastic food! The only thing we would change is the distance from the airport. It took over an hour, but was still well worth it! We already look forward to returning!

Barcelo Maya Grand Resort: terrific vacation destionation
A wonderful resort. The rooms, staff, food and service were spot on. It is rather large, so walking is required for almost anything. The dining was excellent. We tried all 4 of the available buffets, all were great. My husband did miss beef. It wasn't well prepared - usually tough. Everything else was delicious. We always found pool lounges, beach chairs, beach towels in generous supply. Drinks were good. Entertainment was good. The last nights of our stay were a bit spoiled by the "ove[... read more]r flow" of college age people, on March break. Grand Palladium Vallarta: Pleasant stay
Enjoyed our vacation, amenities were good although we did not take advantage of everything available, we lazed on the beach with our books, walked everyday once the tide was out far enough to get safely around the point and swam frequently in the ocean. Not pool people, we come to the beach for the natural ocean swim (if we liked the pool, we may as well go to Arizona LOL) Had intended to get out in the kayaks but a persistent shoulder injury advised me against. The boogie boards we did play o[... read more]n were in kind of rough shape, scratched my legs up a bit. One day we went to borrow snorkel equipment but there was no one to assist, and although there was some equipment sitting there, we did not know if it was clean or if we had to book it out. Took advantage of the free Catamaran ride, but made sure we booked it right at 9 am.
Food was nice, reasonable variety, salsa and guacamole daily lunchtime staple. Did find that an awful lot of salt is used in everything! We ordered a Caesar a few times, which are already loaded with salt, and had to ask that salt not be added to the drink NOT the rim, I'm talking the Drink itself.
Enjoyed the Bambu restaurant and had dinner at the Mexican Adelita restaurant twice
Have had many all inclusive vacations over the years and know what to expect. We are at a point in our lives where we actually don't mind doing our own cooking, liquor selection etc but opted for a week of complete relaxation instead
The one thing i wish all inclusives could provide a step up in is WINE. Several options of hard liquor are available for cocktails (although sometimes i swear the same stuff just goes into different labels) but the house wines that are served in AI's are SOOO BAAAD. I did order a bottle one night to accompany a nice Italian dinner, it was a bottle that cost $12 at home, and was $50 CAD. The wine served tasted like it was watered down, with vinegar. If there is an effort to make the food delicious, why would you want to destroy it with crap wine? Sorry, i just can't drink tequila or cocktails at dinner.
Facilities were clean, room was serviced nicely although i did ask twice for a top up of the snack size peanuts we had on day 1 in our room, but never received any again.
Would I recommend this resort? Sure, but it is essentially the same as any other, no huge standouts.

Grand Sunset Princess: A wonderful trip from beginning to end
My husband and I traveled to this resort from Vancouver BC for my birthday celebration & to relax and unwind.
We traveled with Sunwing and had no issues with the airline there and back.
We opted to book Canada Transfers from Cancun airport to the resort & used them for the return trip as well.
Canada Transfers was a great experience, from the greeter, to the driver. We had the cold towels upon arrival & purchased a couple of cold drinks that they had waiting for us, for the trip to resort. T[... read more]raffic was good and it was a 40 minute drive. Friendly and professional.
When we arrived at the resort, it was exactly as seen in the photos, gorgeous and huge. (Even though the resort was big, we found multiple little areas to lounge quietly by ourselves).
The front bellman asked us where we were staying on the resort which was the Sunset Platinum section. We were whisked away within minutes to the Platinum Lobby.
Check in was easy and took a very short time. (We also enjoyed a nice welcome drink while checking in). Our luggage was brought to our room 5 minutes after we got in.
The room was lovely and spacious & we enjoyed the outdoor Jacuzzi a few time during the trip.
The Royal Holiday staff were all over the place, but were respectful and nice. You just had to give a firm, no thank you.
Food:
We enjoyed the Sunset Buffet at the main lobby our first night & it was delicious, but after that evening we chose to go the restaurants.
Our favorites were the Steak House, La Fleur, Mama Mia. We also attended the Platinum Gala on the Thursday night at the Snack Riviera with a set menu & was wonderful, with live musicians and delicious food. For lunches we loved the taco cart by the tequila pool & the hamburger cart by the fantasy pool.
We had room service for breakfast everyday and the Platinum lobby lounge has great snacks throughout the day to enjoy. (loved the little sandwiches at lunch time if we were still hungry). There was no way you could go hungry at this resort, with so many options available.
We also visited the ice cream parlor once during our stay on the family club side which was a treat.
Overall:
The platinum area at the beach was beautiful & we never had trouble finding two loungers in the shade & we went down there after lunch at times. The beach itself was beautiful & the seaweed didn't bother us, it is mother nature after all.
The spa at this resort is amazing! We ended up spending a few hours a day over a three day period enjoying some of the services. The Hydro therapy circuit, massages and relaxation room were on my top 10 spa experiences.
There was lots to see and do on the resort & my favorite part was seeing the silly cute coaties. The cats were sweet & the iguanas very regal and interesting. We did manage to see a turtle in the lagoon & several pelicans, but no crocodile or spider monkey's on this trip.
Staff:
The staff working at this resort were so humble, sincere, kind and hardworking. I wish we could have gotten everyone's names to list, but for those I haven't named below, thank you for making our trip so great. Everyone had a smile, and went above and beyond to help at every turn.
Here are a few people that we did write down who made the stay special;
Hector & Gloria (platinum concierge)
Manu (platinum front desk)
All of the inter resort shuttle drivers
Jorge, Martinez & Acosta (Spa masseuse)
Daniel (Front desk Spa)
Fernando (Steak House Snack Riviera)
Blanca & Manual (Mama Mia)
Veronica (Maid, loved the daily towel animals! She did such a great job with our room & was exceptionally friendly)
And finally Addy from Royal Holiday. I know these guys don't work for the resort but she was a spitfire & we enjoyed chatting with her. She tried hard to get us to go on a tour (which we didn't do), and even when she knew we weren't interested she spent time joking & having fun with us.
Would we go back:
I think we will go back one day & when we do we'll try the Laguna Villas. In the meantime, there are so many resorts in Mexico we might try a different one next time.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Paradise Found
Large resort, spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, great service from courteous staff. Generous a la carts (5 per wk) and well prepared, tasty food with a good variety.
Lovely sandy beach with just a few occasional rocky areas, plenty of palm trees, lounges and cabanas to provide shade- endless sculpted pools. We found the “colonial†was centrally located to everything ( buffets, theatre, shopping mall, etc) and by far had the better beach! Would definitely return to this resort!

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: It was ok.
The resort is beautiful, everything I wanted in a resort, jungle, animals, cenotes, beaches waterslides, and old ruins which was wonderful to see.
Unfortunately the services were lacking, we had a upgraded room with 24 hour room service, but you had to call and call and call to get it. And if you were lucky they actually brought it. You couldn't just go get ice room service had to bring it, me and my husband were kind of sick there ( maybe bad food or swimming in the cenote) anyways we needed ic[... read more]e for ice water cause all the water supplied in the room is warm. We ordered it a couple times and never came. Then I was determined to get ice so I called and ordered it didn't come 3 hours later I went down to the front desk to just get some they couldn't let us do that someone had to bring it. After 7 hours after my first request it finally came.
We booked a cenote tour when we got there they didn't have enough equipment so told us to come back the next day meanwhile we had planned most of the day around that.
Our room smelled moldy but I aired it out it got a bit better, but we had a serious ant problem like they would crawl on you in the middle of the night and freak you out, I talked to someone about it and nothing was ever done. My mini fridge was restocked once in the whole trip I asked for it to be restocked three time they never did, I gave up complaining.
And the last day I was walking through a path and came across a small cenote the gates were open for it and there were no signs saying don't swim in there, the only signs we seen were instructions on how to swim in it (like no sunscreen and stuff) so we swam then some guy came along and had a fit at us for swimming in there. A simple you can swim in there would have been fine but he was rude and mean.
The restaurants were ok, I liked the Italian one the best, the Mexican one was the worst. Restaurant staff were pleasant.
Like I said I loved the facilities but not the service. Probably the worst service I have recieved out of the 5 other resorts I have been to in the Rivera Mya, Don't buy the upgraded room it's a waste of money.
Really loved my travel agent though.

Grand Park Royal Cancun: Great Resort
I will keep this short. We stayed in one of the villas. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff at the hotel were awesome. We only had positive interactions with them. The hotel was super clean and well kept. We were happy hanging around the pool or the beach. The ocean had large waves so with our kids we didn’t really spend a lot of time there. Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos: Great Resort
Hyatt Ziva is what you would expect from the Hyatt brand. Rooms where large, clean and lavish. Pools of all types where clean, warm and had space to lounge and swim in. Food excellent selection and taste. Overall a great place and great resort. Staff was also excellent and accommodated all needs. A few things to be aware of. The beach water sadly is un-swimable due to the current. Often a black flag is placed to denote fatal if you get in... yikes. This isn’t a fault of Hyatt, all resorts on t[... read more]hat strip of beach are under the same restriction. Being a 5-star resort sadly didn’t offer any shuttles to the nearby towns. Taxi’s will do the trick but would expect some sort of bus service from Hyatt.
Besides that would recommend to anyone looking for a easy place to relax and unwind.

Las Palmas by the Sea: Good Vacation!
The hotel was great, once we were settled in. A few things to note, there is no wifi in the rooms, lobby only which is not advertised. Secondly, the rooms facing east have the WORST mornings because they face the kitchen so from 630am onward, its constant scraping of carts and staff talking. Other than that, not enough good things to say about the staff working and the safety. We always felt safe and welcome.
