Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Good value

Nice resort good value for your money. A la cart dinners excellent, buffet good with lots of variety. Room clean. We had a lot of power outages which was a nuisance. Staff pleasant..not all staff could speak English.

Iberostar Waves Punta Cana: Nice resort

Huge pools, small beach area, was hard to find a spot if you didn’t get there super early. Beautiful steak house on the beach in the sand. Loved the ocean view from the seafood restaurant. Felt brushed off by staff. We did enjoy our stay.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Really nice resort

Restaurants were good, buffet needs improvement on food, staff was amazing, rooms were immaculate. The beach is beautiful, I cannot comment on the night entertainment as we did not attend. I would recommend this resort.

Bahia Principe Escape Samana: Amazing Resort on the wrong beach

Resort was Amazing..food was good quality . Rooms were very clean and comfortable. However there was No activity on the beach and beach was way too small and the water was too rough to swim. Most of the staff and servers were friendly. Some should smile more . Overall good value.

Blau Natura Park Resort: Relaxing vacation

Firstly - the most impressive aspect of the resort is the grounds. The tropical gardens and assortment of bird life is very pleasing. The beach area is well kept and secure. Seaweed may be a bit of a problem depending on the time of year but staff do clear daily. The food choices in the buffet and three specialty restaurants were surprisingly pleasing. Rooms were fine (I chose a select upgrade) although occasional problem occurred with air conditioning and plumbing. The entertainment was enj [... read more]oyable about half the time. One area of disappointment for me was the lack of dancing at night. Overall if you are looking for a very relaxing holiday I would recommend this resort. Note that weekends could be very busy with local guests but weekdays are/were nicely quiet in early November.

Casa Marina Reef Resort: My Second Home

As you no I go to Casa Marina a lot and it is like a second home, the people who work there are like family they asked you how your family back home are and they want to no things about you. I myself have no complaints with the hotel and don't get ask for any extras, I get to know everyone from the ones front desk to my lady who cleans my room to the gardeners. Caribe Deluxe Princess: "Nice" resort but no wow factor

Just got home from a week at club caribe. The resort is "good". The room was clean and everything worked. Never had an issue with lack of electricity or hot water. The in room safe is included in the price. The resort appears to be well maintained and repaired when needed. There are several restaurants (we did 5 a la cart). The beach is clean. Although there is a distance between the lobby and rest of the resort it is a nice scenic walk - or you can take the trolley. I say this resort  [... read more]is good as there was no big wow factor. I would give it a solid 3 rating not a 4 or 4+ (as it claims). The downfall and main reason I wouldn't give it a higher rating was the Buffet. Having travelled a fair amount I have been to many buffets and don't have particularly high expectations. This one was repetitive - lunch and breakfast everyday the same. Supper did change theme every night. When researching resorts it can get confusing as there is the caribe club as well as the tropical princess - the two are on the same property and I believe the tropical princess is just one section of villas. Otherwise they share all amenities. While there 90% of the vacationers were European and I believe the buffet must cater to this (which makes sense) however in doing so there were very few dishes that were appealing. They had your basics- meat, pasta, fish but beyond that many of the side dishes and salads were unappetizing looking choices- pickles squid, wiener slices in brine etc. Food was always cooked properly and no one went hungry but it did take some planning and creativity. I venture to say that the buffets in Cuba may have been better than here. The staff are polite and willing to help and I never felt pressured to tip. After speaking with others on our flight who stayed at other resorts the caribe club sounds like it may be one of the better choices. This resort also appears to cater to families- there were quite a few there during our week. Under the right circumstances (price) I would consider it again.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Good resort.

First appearance stays with you. The lobby very lovely and clean. Staff very friendly and accommodating. The bugs were present and I ended up with a miserable vacation. The staff were sympathic. Couple of things was an noisy air conditioner which they tried to fix but didn't last. The entertainment at pool side etc were not super friendly but we are all different. So you decide.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Beautiful Resort

The resort and the grounds are beautifully kept. The staff is friendly and make you feel special. Lots of choices to eat. Loved the adults side. The Italian restaurant was my favorite place to eat. The Michael Jackson show a must see. Fantastic show. I will stay in a Bahia resort again.

Sunscape Bavaro Beach: Great Resort

Clean rooms, comfy bed and very polite staff. Ground immaculately kept. Buffet restaurants excellent. However, the a la carte restaurants were randomly closed and even though you got a sheet in the morning stating which ones were open, that was not the case. Service in the French restaurant was pitiful - we walked out before dessert because we had already been there for almost 2 hours. On various nights, there were local vendors with tables set up throughout the resort. There should ha [... read more]ve been a centralized area with these vendors so that if you wanted to look at their souvenirs you could. They would accost you every time you walked by one of them. Beach was very short and had a lot of erosion. One half could not be accessed from your chair because it was sand bagged and had huge rocks. Even though it there was a programmable thermostat in the room, it didn’t appear that we had any control. It said it could be set to 16 but got no where close. The resort itself was beautiful but we wouldn’t recommend it because of the lack of a decent beach and random closure of the a la carte restaurants.

JOIA Bavaro by Iberostar: Fantastic Resort

We were very impressed with the general appearance of the resort. Grounds were well maintained with grounds keepers constantly picking up dead leaves, trimming hedges and picking up litter. Rooms are well maintained and cleaning staff are very friendly and eager to assist. Our butlers, Johsu and Staling were terrific. They responded to our every request. The beef was also tough at the Italian Restaurant. The Bella Vista restaurant with its buffet was super. Choices galore. We actually gained weigh while at the resort. On occasion smokers detracted from our meals. We recommend that all restaurants be made smoke free. We spent most of our time lying next to the pool where eager staff encouraged us to participate in various activities ranging from archery to bingo. If the resort is planning to do a bit of a face lift, we recommend that they replace the low toilets with comfort height toilets. Flights to and from Punta Cana with Sunwing were disappointing.We were seated in the 2nd row but when the staff came to take the food order, the item we wanted was no longer available! Note, we were in the 2nd row and perhaps 3 such items had been served. Unbelievable! It was organized chaos when we arrived to find our transportation to the resort. On the return trip, the aircraft was late in arriving at Punta Cana. When we were allowed to board the bus to take us to the aircraft, we sat in the bus for about a half hour in the baking sun at the gate. After we boarded the aircraft, we had to wait another 3/4 of an hour while a couple who had been refused entry to DR were brought back to the aircraft. We left 1 1/2 hours late. We are very unhappy with Sunwing.

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Amazing Resort

The hotel was small and intimate, got to know many staff members, who were always pleasant and helpful. The rooms are very big compared to other resorts i have been to. The pools were clean and well maintained and the beach was lovely and very long. The food was varied and plentiful, with 4 a la cartes and the main buffet, I felt like I was going out to a high class restaurant every evening. The bar tenders were so nice and I tried many cocktails but settled on the" bahama mama" as my drink of [... read more] choice. The entertainment group did a good job, we really enjoyed the Halloween performance and the young lady who sang so beautifully on our last evening.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Amazing Hotel

The Hotel is brand new everything has been taken care well, all the workers are really good towards families and what they do, they are happy and smiling all the time and also very eager to help when need it, rooms are very comfortable and overall it was an amazing experience will definitely go back.

Grand Bavaro Princess: good and bad

good food beach train does not go around enough it is totally out of control the vendors on the beach and at the resort they never leave you alone casino sucks and no free beer on the weekend they let the locals invade the place and are very rude

Now Garden Punta Cana: Wonderful

I would recommend this resort for persons that wish for some R&R. It is great that you have access to the sister resort for entertainment and restaurants. Tripcental was perfect to deal with, every questions we had were answered in a very short period of time.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Wonderful, hospitable resort

Although first time in DR, not first time in Caribbean and I must say that this fine resort to spend a short holiday. Resort was well laid out and easy to become familiar with, check in and check out quick and professional. Lobby bar was well stocked and friendly welcoming staff. Quiet and peaceful. King size bed was soft and comfortable, maid service was top notch and professional. Plenty of choices and good food in the buffet with prompt, pleasant attentive wait staff. Lunches at the beach and in the beach restaurant meant always having a nice meal without dressing for main restaurant. Overall a great resort that Management and Iberostar can be proud to represent. Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Disappointed!!!!

Our first room the air didn't work that after the 3rd call I went down to the desk and asked for the manager who then came to our room and moved us at 12:30am to another room with air, after that the toilet broke ( they came and fixed) hair dryer broke ( they came and fixed) fan broke (they came and fixed) but the air in this second room hardly worked at all and nothing was ever done about it. The room was never cleaned just the towels and bedding changed and made but the bathroom not cleaned at [... read more] all. I would REALLY have to think about staying there again.

The Reserve at Paradisus Punta Cana: No recommendation for this resort

the management and services of the resort is not according to stars ratings just an average , I give them only 3 stars, the place punta cana is amazing next time if I travelling there I will try another resort.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Awesome staff

Sunscape puerta plata is a small resort with amazing staff. Rooms were great, food was delicious, pool and beach were fantastic. I would return to this resort in the future and definitely recomment this resort to friends

Be Live Experience Hamaca Garden: Overall good for the area

This area is good for having a real local experience and comfortable leaving the resort . This is the best overall hotel in the area ; it is close to Santa Domingo and is a good spot as a "home" location for traveling off the resort , close to car rentals, grocery stores .
