Grand Sunset Princess: Great Vacation !

This was my third trip to the Mayan Riviera but my first time at this resort. Our family prefers large resorts as there seems to be more of a variety so this resort appealed to us in many ways. The grounds are beautiful...lots of wildlife. If you are a pool person then you will love it here as there are many to choose from. I am a beach person myself and although I loved the beach area and setup, I did however find some smaller rocks in the water. I would only give the beach an 8/10 for this rea [... read more]son. The rocks are manageable, but I just don't like it. We stayed in Playacar at the RIU last year and the beach there is a 10/10. The Playacar area in general has the best beach strip in the Mayan. Now for food. We were happy with most of the choices but I found the food at the RIU last year to be a step up in variety and quality. All in all I would give the food an 9/10. Overall, the vacation was a 9/10 for me. We had great value for our money and as I mentioned the resort is beautiful.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Wonderful Resort

We were a group of 6 sisters on vacation for a week beginning Apr.17/16. Three of these had been on a trip to Africa last year and loved it. The jungle and animal atmosphere at this resort with its own eco tours, ruins and cenotes was especially appealing. We were not disappointed. The grounds were absolutely stunning. Lush vegetation and jungle-like surroundings were evident all through the walking paths and trails. We got up early to explore the trails before it became too hot, had breakfast and then headed to the beach for swimming and sun bathing. We stayed in the adult section and enjoyed the pool in this area as well. Our rooms were lovely although there could be more drawers or shelves for storage. Beds were comfortable and the maids were great. We loved the a la carte dining. We tried every restaurant except the vegetarian and loved them all-especially the Italian. The service at each one was amazing - as it was everywhere from check in to check out! Four of the girls took one trip to the Tulum ruins and enjoyed it, but we found that there was so much to do at this resort that we really didn't have to leave. Although we didn't use it, this place seemed to have the most active childrens club I've seen down south-they even had some of the children in their evening shows which were all geared for families. Our favourites were the Heroes, Freddie Jackson and the Disney type show. The weather was great every day and we had an amazing time!

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: High five for Azul Fives

This is a great resort. There are several pools all of which have a swim up bar and or food nearby. The main pool is beautiful and overlooks the beach. Well situated with several good food options in the main pool/ beach area. Pool activities are fun and well spaced out throughout the day. Pool chairs were comfortable. We also loved sitting at the beach- especially in the swing beds. What more could you want when relaxing on the beach! Kids club was excellent. Good staff and nice choice of daily [... read more] and evening activities. Adult activities were also good ie yoga by the beach. The food was of a very high quality for an all inclusive. Great job. The view from the Italian restaurant was great. The Mexican seafood place by the beach was great for lunch. The Thai restaurant serves surprisingly good dinner. The brasserie was very good and the breakfast is very nice there. The main buffet at flavours serves great Mexican. Bar 1917 had an excellent bartender and cute Mexican atmosphere. The only restaurant that disappointed was meso. Room was very large and we got upgraded. We choose older rooms closer to the pool and beach. The room was fine. Some upgrades would be nice but location and space were excellent and the room was pretty decent. The newer rooms look pretty but are further and smaller. Choose what better suits your needs. I think for families the larger older rooms are better. Overall we had an excellent stay and would recommend this resort.

Catalonia Yucatan: Fantastic Week At Catalonia Yucatan...Give It Try!

Stayed on the Yucatan Beach side, with privileged upgrade, 2nd floor oceanfront room. This resort is quite compact, which makes it easy and fast to get anywhere. I feel that the upgrade was worth it. I mostly upgraded for the oceanfront view, but got some other perks along with it, like use of the privileged section of the beach, super service at the Pure Chill Out bar, coupons for a free spa service, and an extra 4th a la carte dinner. The room wasn't ritzy, but was nice, very comfortable, an [... read more]d well cleaned every day. Flat screen TV and free Wi-Fi. There weren't many spare outlets in the room, so if you have more than 2 electronic devices, maybe bring an outlet splitter. The food was GOOD! A nice selection at the buffets & snack bar, with something for everyone. Basics like burgers, hot dogs, pizza, and fries - to seafood & steak. Lots of vegetable dishes, Mexican dishes, rice, pasta, soups, and bread choices. Breakfast had the usual eggs, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, plus lots of sweet choices like pancakes, waffles, and donuts! The beach was gorgeous. Swimming was very nice. There is a break wall that keeps the swimming area fairly calm. No vendors selling stuff. No timeshare people. Nobody bothered us at all. Only the waiter or bartender asking if we wanted another drink. I saved the best for last! The staff. Everyone was very accommodating and friendly above my expectations. There was a small problem with the safe in our room, and the power went out twice. Both issues were fixed right away, within 10 minutes of letting the front desk know about it. I usually want to try new places for each of my vacations, but I had such a nice time, that the Catalonia Yucatan has given me a good reason to consider going twice!

Grand Palladium Colonial: Another amazing visit to Palladium

My 5th visit to Grand Palladium RM. Delighted to see many upgrades and improvements such as renovated rooms, more comfortable beds, awesome free wifi across the resort, and even better food. Can't wait to return again!!

Barcelo Maya Caribe: Could have been better

The nightly entertainment was very poor. The room service was very frustrating. Our room was never stocked with drinks, toilet paper etc. The front desk people did not understand English which was very frustrating.

Grand Palladium Colonial: Amazing resort....something for everyone!

This is my 4th visit to Grand Palladium Riviera Maya and I was not disappointed! I noted improvements in food quality (which is very good to begin with) and overall service from my last visit. This resort is great for families, couples or groups of friends. Each time I return I marvel at the beauty of the resort. They left much of the lushness of the forest in tack when they built the resort so you don't realize how big and sprawling it is. It is also great value for the dollar!

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Amazing resort

We stayed at Sian Ka'an and it's very nice. The staff is very nice. The food is great, lots of selection. The rooms are nice and modern. Quiet resort for people looking to really relax. If you were looking for something more livelier, then take the trolley to Akumal. The beach is great and plenty of beach chairs. The pools are also great too!

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Location matters

Well managed hotel in general. Big property, pools, gardens, restaurants - everything clean and in a good shape, although thatch roofs do need some maintenance. Rooms - mediocre, nothing to be delighted about. Conditioners need replacement/upgrade as some are leaking, and our room in particular was really humid, i.e. AC couldn't cope with it, so I've brought all our stuff back with the mould smell. Yet, you're expected to pay extra to be sure you're not being robbed while you're at the beach. And these lock boxes are not difficult to force, I'd say. Hard working and always smiling personnel, respect to all the staff members - they're definitely making this hotel better. Great food at the buffet. We were staying with kids, so we were always among the first visitors at the buffet, and food was nice and hot. Good soups and porridge, so my 1-y-old was never hungry. Decent variety of fruits and salads, roast chicken and roast beef were really nice. Not too much of grilled fish to choose from - I'd prefer more local fish rather than defrosted salmon, but fine as well. Freshly baked croissants - my compliments to the baker. Gotta mention the icecream - a real highlight of our stay. My personal dislike goes to location - too far from the beach. I prefer beachfront, and book this hotel only because our friends were going, and it's always better to travel with friends. They say, you can get to the beach in no time from anywhere... well, it's kinda untrue - you can get there from main lobby and kids pool, but be prepared to wait. The average waiting time for us at the lobby "bus stop" was 15-20 minutes. Mojitos were good, wines - hit and miss. Do take taxi and go to Akumal Bay to swim with turtles. Go early in the morning before all the other groups arrive to avoid the crowd which muddy the waters. Fantastic kids shows - dance routine, costumes, real hard work. Would not come back through no fault of the hotel - location matters for me. Iberostar Lindo is way better in this area.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Spectacular Resort

This resort was simply amazing. The grounds and rooms are beautifully kept and you want for nothing, except more time to be there. The food is wonderful, no need to book the speciality restaurants as the buffet provides a wonderful dining experience. They do roll up the sidewalks around 11pm, but there are plenty of nightlife spots on the sister resorts. The pools are amazing as is the beach. Service, well what can I say, well above expectations. Worth every penny.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Great Experience

Service was unbeatable and the food and drinks were amazing! Loved the Piano Bar and their martinis - The Imperial was delish. Resort was beautiful and very clean. Lots of great activities at the pool. Had a great time!

Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya: Another great vacation at secrets capri

Once again our stay at secrets capri was fantastic. It was our second time in 3 years. Its a small resort witch make it easy to find everything.You get to meet lots of people. We love the adults only. No bracelet. No towel card. You dont have to reserve to go to the restaurants. The food was great. The drinks where excellent. Juan at the pool bar is the best bartender in mexico. The intertainment staff once again didnt disapoint. Hector, Yoshi and Ellizabeth made the activities fun. Very friendl [... read more]y. We had booked a deluxe tropical view room and since it was our seconde time their they upgrade us to a ocean view room. The resort was always clean. We will try to go again in the next few years.

The Reef Coco Beach: Good value for the money.

Don't go to this resort with 5-star expectations. That said, the staff was 5-star and the food was a very close second. Overall a great experience. Great food! Great fun! Great staff! Rooms were very basic but clean. A small resort which made it feel very safe and comfortable. Security on duty 24-hours a day at the beach and lobby. Beach was nice but lots of boats in the water anchored outside of the roped area. Not sure why they set anchor there when there are no other boats to be seen in the a [... read more]rea. Birds made their presence known at the pool area when people fed them and left plates with leftover food on their lounge chairs. Signs advising guests not to feed the birds and not to leave food out in the open would be helpful. Activity staff was great! Not much to do in the resort after the nightly show. Just a sports bar (very small) with a nice, small patio overlooking the ocean. Would suggest dinner after the show which is every night at 8. 5th Avenue is three blocks away with lots of shopping and heckling from vendors. The ferry to Cozumel is within walking distance at the end of 5th Avenue or by walking along the beach (about a 30 minute walk or 10 minute cab ride). Buffet was great for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Didn't try the Mexican restaurant. It was $6/person which didn't make sense considering it's an all-inclusive resort in Mexico yet there was no additional charge for the Italian or Japanese restaurants. Italian restaurant was awesome (too much food) and the Japanese restaurant was very entertaining with good food. I would highly recommend this resort if you're looking for a quick, safe, no-frills and affordable holiday.

Amazing resort! The staff were great, the food was amazing with lots of options, the beach was beautiful and the pools were a blast! Everything is very accessible and the resort is easy to navigate. You won't be disappointed

Riu Tequila: Authentic Mexican Experience

The Riu Tequila is a great resort that is designed in the old school hacienda style, which I really enjoyed. The grounds are kept in a clean and immaculate state by a really dedicated staff. The resort does show it's age in some areas but I prefer that to a brand new resort that has no flaws but is styled like a downtown condo. The best part about the resort has to be the staff, they are so welcoming and professional. Additionally, the food and drinks are also top notch. The buffet offers so ma [... read more]ny choices and has a different theme each night. Our family travelled with a teething toddler so we chose not to try the a la cartes as we wanted to be able to eat as soon as we sat down. Our room was clean and stocked with lots of water, pop and beer every other day. The resort has two storey haciendas and is flat, so great for people with mobility issues. The clientele was a mix of Europeans and Canadians for the most part and everybody was friendly.

Grand Oasis Riviera: Beautiful Resort

This hotel was great. The food was good, the view was amazing, it was very clean. The one downfall I experienced was a lack of willingness to accommodate reservations for dinner. There were three restaurants we were unable to get into and the ones we did were after 9pm and the resort was not busy. Besides this, the waitstaff were amazing, kind and caring. The beach was spectacular and the games and shows were fun!

Grand Oasis Riviera: Nice resort

Everything was nice and clean. Service was great. Food was different but ok. Rooms clean but could still use some updating. Other than that everything was ok.waiters and maids were very good.i could go back.

Barcelo Maya Palace: Absolutely amazing resort

Barcelo maya palace deluxe was perfect for our family of 5. The hotel was very clean, our room was a perfect size. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was amazing. We will definitely be going back.

Grand Palladium Select White Sand: No words but Amazing

The resort was absolutely beautiful I am brining my kids to the Grand palladium resort when they are Olde to enjoy all the adventures they can .. the staff bar tenders chefs Bell boy security are all the ideal for customer service
