Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Beautiful resort and great value!

Sian Ka'an is a beautiful resort. The grounds are well kept and lush and the buildings are very well maintained. The beach is not the nicest I've seen but they do the best they can with what they have. However, the pools are lovely and numerous which makes up for the beach. Plus the attentive lounge side service can't be beat. The Lobby Bar was my favourite morning spot for latte / tea in the morning. They have an unusually wide variety of quality loose leaf and bagged teas which was awesome f [... read more]or me and my boyfriend was happy with the lattes made to his specification. The rooms were large and nicely appointed. Only real downside was that the A/C was loud but you got used to it. Really enjoyed the food...especially the a la carte restaurants (both at Sian Ka'an and the sister Bahia resorts). Favourites were Alux (Sian Ka'an), Arlequin (Akumel) and Tequila (Tulum). The buffet was good. There were items that were repeated daily (or things very similar) but the selection was broad and as long as you rotated through the offerings, you didn't get bored. Another great thing about the resorts was the staff. Unfailingly friendly and helpful. Most were great...those that were not great, were still good...so no complaints there. Overall, thoroughly enjoyed my 9 day stay and would happily come back. Definitely a lot of value for what you pay. I'm actually considering a family vacation next at one of the sister resorts in a couple of years.

Park Royal Ixtapa: Good Resort

The Hotel is older but has been well kept up. The Staff are all very friendly and accommodating. The Food is good in both Buffets. The A La Carte was so so. The bed was very firm so housekeeping put a foam underlay which improved it. The Hallway are very noisy at night when your asleep and people come to their rooms late in the evening. The Live Band playing in the Lobby area are very loud and the sound comes through the Patio Doors.There were lots of Beach Lounge chairs.

Catalonia Royal Tulum: Amazing Resort Catalonia Royal Tulum

We loved the CRT because of the beautiful beach and pool, amazing service, cleanliness of the rooms and grounds, service and food. If you are seeking a quiet and relaxing vacation then this is the place. We will return for sure!

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: No bech in this hotel...

I would not recommend it to anyone. Room, food was good. Service was excellent . Pool,to many people, as I indicated not for retired people. We would not go beck there, because wee could not swim in the Ocean.

Ocean Maya Royale: very nice resort

my wife and I just spent a week at this resort, it was great. staff is very friendly and fun, food is good and rooms are very well kept. little disappointed with the seaweed on the beach but its expected this time of the year, it cleared up completely on our 4th day so that made up for it. we would definitely recommend this resort ( and have) to friends.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Fantastic Resort

Best resort I have experienced in the 10+ years we have gone to the Cancun area. Top notch service and consistant service/entertainment. Very clean resort, pool, room, restaurants. Do not like the requirement to write at least 200 characters.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Amazing resort.

Just returned from our 7th visit to this resort. I think this says it all. We are beach people so cannot really comment on the pools. The beach is wonderful and we never have problems finding a lounger on the beach at any time during the day. On most days seaweed washes up on the beach (seems to be a problem at most resorts in the Mayan Riviera) but resort staff diligently clean up the seaweed daily and it does not pose any problems. The only negative is the nightly entertainment at the theatres. The entertainment staff work hard but the quality of the shows seems to be worse every year.

Tukan Hotel Playa Del Carmen: Exactly what we expected

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Great resort

This place was very nice. The food was great, grounds well kept, rooms very nice but showing age. I would definitely return. The beach is not the greatest but usable. The only thing I found strange was that there was no server on beach or at pool for the bar, first time I seen this at a resort

Crown Paradise Club: Okay resort

The hotel was older then I expected, although SunWing staff were excellent the hotels staff except cleaning staff were very slow, sometimes rude and more into what’s going on around them then taking care of guest. Buffet was boring and tasteless I never heard of meat stew before or meat in pink sauce.

Barcelo Maya Caribe: Yes to Barcelo

Staff were very friendly, grounds appeared to be very clean and exceptionally well kept, food was excellent with lots of variety. Only slight criticism was the bathroom in our room had some mold/mildew around the handles in the bathtub.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Fantastic Resort !!!!

Food, resort, accomodations and the service was 5 star / awesome. We will definitely return again next year. We HIGHLY recommend Blue Bay Cancun. Best server was named Eric (steakhouse)......top notch service!!!

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Loved it all!

This was our first visit to Mexico and most certainly won’t be our last. This resort was a perfect, luxury adults only experience! The resort was nice and quiet and if we wanted evening entertainment, there was tons available at the other resorts. The food was fabulous, the service was impeccable and the golf was glorious! We will definitely visit this resort again!

Riu Santa Fe: Lovely resort

The resort is quite large, so there is lots of walking to the pools and restaurants. The food was only fair, serving the same buffet each day, and there were no true a la carte restaurants. Even the a la cartes were served buffet style and served most of the same items that were at the buffet. We were also there during the US March break, which made for a lot of noise at night, lots of drunk teenagers who crowded the pools and bars. Planes are too small and crowded, always late, ran out of food on the flight to Mexico, and poor service on board.

Secrets Playa Mujeres: Beautiful resort / Great staff

This was my husband and I first experience at a Secrets resort in Mexico. We had a spectacular Ocean view room and experienced beautiful sunrises most morning. The grounds and facilities are well maintained and the beach is beautiful. The daily entertainment was great. We ate at all restaurants and even took advantage of the restaurant at the Dreams resort next door which is really close. All were inviting, beautifully decorated and the food was Ok. Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Exceeded expectations!!

Amazing pool options, beach is fantastic, proximity to airport is perfect. Large property so a little confusing at first, but you quickly learn to orient yourself. Lots of food and bar options. Staff are friendly and engaging.

Absolutely gorgeous and very well looked after!! Staff were all very friendly. Would love to return!! Lots of Entertainment Signed up for catamaran trip at the building by the pool area. That was rather poor and would not do again. Catamaran was way too small and uncomfortable. Staff were awesome tho.

Secrets Aura Cozumel: Fun in the Sun!

Went to Secrets Aura Cozumel with another couple...all in our 50's. We all really liked the resort. Loved the slides, the staff, the pools, the use of Sunscape next door, the food was quite good and room service was excellent. Staff served you wherever you were...at the beach, playing ping pong, in the pool, out of the pool. Food and drinks were plentiful everywhere you went. The SkyBar is a great place to meet for a before dinner sunset cocktail, or a sushi app. Great drinks and atmosphere. Had a pool room that had a slide down into the swim up bar....How convenient and fun! The only negative comment I would have would be that the resort itself is starting to show a little wear and tear and the rooms could use a refurbishing with paint and some new furniture....the beds were very comfy though. The beach is rocky to get in but the snorkeling is fabulous right near the pier. I would definitely return to Secrets Aura Cozumel.

Riu Santa Fe: Great Stay!!

We were suppose to stay at the Riu Santa Fe for 11 days but upon arrival they told us that we had been upgraded to the new Riu Palace Baja California that is directly next door. This gave us access to all 3 Riu resorts here. We did spend a fair amount of time at the Santa Fe. Its is an all ages resort so it will appeal to more people in the younger age groups. The grounds are very well kept and the food at both buffet and a la cartes is very good. The first week were were there it was quiet for the most part. But the second week became spring break. That is when things started to get get loud and out of control. Made us happy that we had gotten the upgrade. Aside from the second week that we were there the Santa Fe was an enjoyable resort to be at.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Met expectations

Overall my trip went really well, as I researched some tips about the hotel before arriving. Knowing how to get around on the trolleys, and bringing a powerbar was very useful, as well signing up for the 3 allotted dinner reservations upon arrival. Also the cheaper costing internet ($9 US) was excellent, though I had to talk to the front desk how to get it, as the prompt for it went away after the initial signing on the free wifi. The grounds were very nice and the sprinkler water does have an odor, but very likely from being standing water somewhere. The beach was very good, I don't expect a perfectly clear-of-seaweed beach as it is part of nature but they (very slowly) worked at clearing sections. The food was good, surprisingly the fish buffet dishes were excellent, desserts were lackluster, but I had something good to eat everyday. Cozumel, don Pablo and Portafino restaurants were adequate, though I wasn't blown away. Don Pablo had the best service. I was definitely consider coming back, for the right price.
