Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Great Resort, Super Service, Terrific Food-Couldn't Find Anything Negative
This resort has got it all. It's a big resort, which we don't normally like but the layout provides areas for any type of vacation you are looking for. We decided on the privilege package which I would recommend. For the extra charge you get a lobster daily, 4 premium bottles of alcohol in your room (of your choice), no standing in long lines to reserve your a la carts, a pool/beach bed reserved in your name, the concierge takes care of any requests, etc.). The service is terrific, all the staf[... read more]f are wonderful - shout out to Jarrod - awesome service, couldn't ask for better)!! Whether you like a quiet relaxing vacation or a party atmosphere, this resort has it all! Go, you won't regret it!

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Good time in a beautiful resort
This was our first stay at an Iberostar property. We stayed at Paraiso Beach which shares facilities with Iberostar Del Mar and combined it is a relatively large resort. First the staff working in the resort is doing an excellent job in almost all areas. We found they were very friendly and always with a smile.
The facilities, lobbies, grounds, restaurants and rooms are well maintained and very clean.
Check in was not the best. I am not sure if most of the staff was on training. It was a lot [... read more]of pressure from the concierge trying to convince us to go to the Iberostar Plus presentation at Mayan.
The pool is big and always clean. One area was closed for some maintenance.
The meals were okay, the buffet had a large variety of food, we found the meat and fish most of the time little uncooked.
My son got food poisoning and for two days he couldn't go outside the room, he missed also our Chichen Itza excursion. The a la carte restaurants were reasonable the Mexican kind of disappointing.
The beach is nice, we found chairs available all the time. Entertainment was good, we loved the Mexican show.
Overall we had a good time in the resort.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Great resort
The resort was lovely with the staff being so friendly and helpful. Food was good, facilities were clean, only downside was the seaweed on the beach but they can’t control Mother Nature! Had a lovely stay.

Sunscape Cancun Resort and Spa: Great getaway, nice place!
My husband and I traveled with our 2 boys (age 10 & 7) for 10 days in February 2019. Panama Jack's is approx. a 30 minute drive from the airport. Upon arrival the check in was fairly quick and our room was an ocean view which definitely met our expectations. We were pleasantly surprised that we had 1 king and 1 double bed. The beach is that of gorgeous white sand, a bit of seaweed (not a big deal) - but there is always wind and fairly turbulent waters (undertow). In fact our entire 10 days [... read more]there it was red flags on the beach, although we still waded out a bit to enjoy the waves. There are 2 pools - the main pool is not huge and this is where most of the action is, so be prepared for loud music and constant activity. The second pool is quite small, it's quieter due to being away from the entertainment crew, but had more younger children around - probably due to the fact that the kids club is right in proximity. There are a couple bigger water slides my boys enjoyed - although my husband was concerned with the speed in which he exited the slides - lol! Lounge chairs can be hard to come by both around the pools and on the beach - but we always seemed to be able to find something eventually - it's just most people seem to place a towel on them to 'reserve' them (boo!). They do offer some classes, such as yoga and Zumba, first thing in the morning (8am) if you like participating in that sort of thing. One of my favourite things was the Panama Jacks Coffee Company in the lobby where we could pop in to grab our specialty coffees all day long, including treats which the kids enjoyed - such as cookies and pastries. There seemed to be lots of eating options. We dined at both the a la carte restaurants - the Italian one was our favourite. They had excellent service and even when having a hard time deciding on our order, they brought us out a sample of the item we didn't order so we could try it! The buffets have different theme nights and there was always decent selection - although some things like guacamole seemed hard to find, and desserts weren't overly impressive. There is a 24 hour snack bar - but nothing special so we didn't use it during our time there except to grab a few tortilla chips one day. The drinks were good, although I found them quite sweet with syrupy mixes - such as daiquiri's or pina colada's. Mojito's were one of my fav's and you can't go wrong with the cerveza's! The evening entertainment didn't blow us away so we didn't make a huge effort to watch it. Seems our boys enjoyed the foosball table so we tended to sway toward that most nights. The only issue we had was a couple times we went back to our room and our door was not completely latched - meaning we just had to push it open without our key card. We soon realized it was the maid service that was not properly closing our door after cleaning. Nothing went missing, it was just a little alarming! All in all, we had a great getaway, enjoyed every minute of escaping winter - but will likely look for another destination/resort for our next trip.

Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: Amazing Vacation
We recently stayed at Panama Jack in Playa del Carmen and I have to say it was a great vacation. I love this resort, it's just the right size - easy access to the beach and the city. The staff are exceptional always greeting you with a smile and a hello. It was amazing that even if you did not give a tip the service was always the same. Our hostess in the dining room each morning (Feb 24-Mar 3) is one the best I have met, wish I could remember her name. She was always helpful and accommodating. My only suggestion for improvement would be the food and that's only because I'm mostly vegetarian. I would have like to see more bean dishes, next time I would request more because I think I would have gotten it. Thank you for a wonderful winter vacation, I will be back

Catalonia Royal Tulum: Beautiful!
The adult only resort was perfect and the staff were wonderful and extremely helpful. The rooms did not have views of the beach but the trees and animals made more than up for it. I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for either a trip with some froends or a romantique getaway.
Georgeous property! Free form pool was great ; site is shared by IBEROSTAR Tuscan . Get up by 7:00 am if you want a longer ! Pool side entertainment exuberant! Beach is nice but waves very rough . Staff excellent! Rooms spacious and always kept tidy by staff . Evening entertainment is typical .
Walkways are slate with cement in between, making it uneven and difficult for seniors . Enjoyed the Howler Monkey antics. Food, lots of variety , good quality . A la carte’s underwhelming . [... read more] Sushi was great

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Exceeded Expectations
When reading some other guest reviews prior to our visit, my expectations had been lowered. I've since concluded that many of these reviewers may simply have been seeking levels of perfection that did not match the price range of what they were paying.
We travelled with grandchildren and found the resort well suited to the interests of children with all the animals and nature as well as wading pools, play centre, water park and beach experiences. After departure of the wee ones, we upgraded t[... read more]o Adult Select club and enjoyed the quiet pool, the upgraded room and the Bali Beds by the beach and the beach club.
Of course there were some minor issues but we found the staff were prompt in remedies. The food choices were ample and tasty.
The peacocks were very beautiful - it was a slight shame that their loud evening calls were not quite so beautiful.
Yes entering the ocean is a walking hazard with the rocks but we knew to expect this. A traditional sandy beach would have been lovely but not enough to miss out on the monkeys and coatis.
We knew about the Eco fees the resort has to charge - these were done on check-in which is likely a much better idea than the hotel collecting on checkout.
There was a bit of a sales pitch for their Royal Elite Club but it was not a hard sell.
Would recommend Sandos Caracol for those with an interest in nature and wildlife or for those looking for a family retreat.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Amazing resort
Great resort for kids, with tons of activities to do. Jade River snorkel was amazing, kids club is a great place for the kids with tons of activities for them.
If you like a resort with a beach, and ocean to swin in, this place is not for you. Not much of an area to swim in. Definitely bring water does. Pools were large, but busy. El Dorado Seaside Suites: 5 STAR RESORT
Room was fabulous! King size bed was sooooo comfortable and resort offered a 'pillow bar' which I greatly appreciated. Huge bathroom with large jacuzzi. Swim out pool off the balcony was really neat concept but water was cold. The building, grounds were immaculate. Food was GOURMET. Best food I have ever eaten at a resort. Personal Concierge was AWESOME (Santiago :)). Staff were friendly and helpful. High quality spirits were served at all the bars. Love the fact that this resort is self-sustainable. All vegetables and herbs were grown in their own organic gardens......FRESH PLUS!
The only let down was the beach attached to the El Dorado Suites. Undesirable! if you wanted to experience a beach you had to go to the adjacent property.
Overall, wonderful experience.

Grand Sunset Princess: Can't complain
Pros: Gorgeous resort, well-maintained, friendly staff, quick and knowledgable bartenders, good buffets, fun day entertainment and great night entertainment, clean rooms, lots of pools, car rentals on site, good gym, felt safe the whole time.
Cons: A bit bigger than I prefer (easy to get lost, far to walk everywhere), the beach had lots of kelp? sea grass?, in the water off the beach there were lots of sharp rocks that were hard to avoid stepping on when the waves hit you, LOTS of kids - badly [... read more]need an adults only pool, staff should crack down on people who get up early and put towels on a beach chair then don't return for hours, everything in USD even though much of the clientele are Canadian, kind of a far detour from main highway to Playa through some sketchy residential, about a 15 minute drive to Playa.
But really though, this is nit-picking. This was a great resort to stay at and we really enjoyed ourselves. Just a few things we noticed that we wished our resort had had.

Grand Palladium Select Costa Mujeres: Tennis heaven
My wife and I enjoy playing tennis on a regular basis and the Rafa Nadal tennis center located in the resort was our main reason for booking it. We were not disappointed by the quality of their adult tennis programs. For example: GP guest will wait 30 minutes or more at a la carte restaurants because the GP section cannot make reservations for a la carte restaurants. On the other hand TRS and Family section can make reservation and get a table without waiting. Transportation within the resort is also divided. There are TRS golf carts and GP golf cart. TRS guest are able to use TRS and GP carts but GP guest can only use GP carts.

Grand Oasis Sens: Mom and Daughter Trip!
My daughter and I recently spent a week at the Grand Oasis Sens for a mother/daughter trip. We were there to unwind and relax. We purchased the all-inclusive vacation and were quite happy with what we received. The resort is renovated and fairly updated. It was very clean and and we constantly saw staff cleaning in all areas of the resort. I found the staff very friendly and check in/out was exceptionally speedy and courteous! We travelled with Air Transat and the local rep was great! She gave u[... read more]s lots of valuable info and tips for excursions and day trips. The buffet was great, always something good to eat and the a la carte's were good as well. Our favorite was the Mexican resto with the live music!
Agnacio was the on the omelet/eggs station and he was amazing and super friendly! We looked forward to seeing him every morning! Entertainment was good, although I wish there was something by the pool every night as we really enjoyed the live music there. The weather was great, except for the high winds which prevented us from actually swimming in the ocean which was very disappointing for me but not the resort's fault! The beach chairs are solid plastic and really hard, I wish there had been better chairs there but the pool chairs were good.We never had a problem getting towels or chairs and the bar staff were all friendly. The sushi bar was great!! We weren't impressed with Sakura though and waited all week for that reservation. Never saw one bug inside the resort, and only few flies outside as it was so windy by the beach. The Spa was way overpriced so we never went there but the Coffee and Me shop was excellent and we went there a couple times a day!
Would definitely return and we enjoyed our stay thoroughly! The only complaint was the mini fridge only had water, Coke and bad beer. I asked for soda water as we don't drink pop, and I requested Sol or Corona but they said they didn't have anything different.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Seaweed on beach a major problem
The resort and the staff were very helpful with all needs or questions. Serving staff in the buffets were very good/quick and efficient. Specialty restaurants were great. One of the main reasons we go to the resorts in Mexico and other areas in the Caribbean is to enjoy the beach and the ocean. Due to the significant amounts of the seaweed which accumulated on the beach daily we were not able to enjoy the beach or the ocean. Las Brisas Huatulco: 3rd time an absolute charm!
On my 3rd time to the Huatulco/Oaxaca area, Feb 26 to Mar 5 2019, I continued to be amazed by the culture, beauty, people, safety, cleanliness and of course the absolutely consistent weather of the region! My first exposure to the region was a solo whitewater kayaking trip on the Copalita river 10 years ago. The second was at a resort on one of the Huatulco Bays in 2018.
My 2019 trip started with the trip booking thru tripcentral, continued thru the Sunwing tour operator and accommodations at[... read more] Las Brisis resort. Everything was exceptionally coordinated and delivered to me and my companion to meet all of my expectations. The variety of activity items at the resort and food was incomparable!
I unfortunately became seriously ill one day (from eating food off site (my fault)), BUT on my return to the hotel, the staff bent over backwards to assist me, including a check-up by the on-site medic and hotel staff.I was so grateful for their care and attention.!

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: A Relaxing Week
Just returned from Sian Ka'an. It has a relaxing vibe if you are looking to unwind. The pool at Sushi Bar has meditative music playing and beautiful sunny whirlpools to de-stress in.
