Melia Las Antillas: Review of Melia Las Antillas

We just got back from a 10 day stay at Melia Las Antillas. While the weather was mixed, our stay there was good. The food is very good at this resort, especially the fresh fish bar in the buffet. The beach is beautiful and there are lots of beach chairs. We opted for the concereige service and it was very good. Maylin in the concereige suite was really helpful and really worked to help solve any issues that came up for us. The down sides were that the bar often did not have all of the brands and [... read more] items that were promised. The other issue was that our Sunwing transfer to the airport did not show up and we had to take a taxi to the airport, which cost us about $50 Canadian.

Melia Marina Varadero: Ok resort

Good food, nice grounds. We stayed here 2 years ago and this place has aged significantly. Many indoor areas need ongoing maintenance. The lobby bar/main restaurant washrooms smell awful......we walked back to our rooms to avoid using these facilities.

Starfish Varadero: Nice Resort

Resort was good overall, nice pool area. Hotel needs work and staff are great. Doing their best to keep up with problems and demands.Food was good, buffet with lots to choose from for all three meals. Al a carte restaurant was terrible - food was cold.

Starfish Varadero: Nice break from winter!

We had some things that needed attention, and the staff accommodated us. Food, pool, beach, were great. This is a 3 star hotel, and that is what we expected. Some of the staff needed to give guests friendlier attention.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Ups & Downs but Good Overall!

While some of the restaurants absolutely excelled (such as the French - themed Marseilles), the majority were pleasantly mediochre. A notable exception was the "Italian". The food was consistently cold - from soup to lasagna - and generally tasteless. What's more, the service was surprisingly bad. The rooms were spacious, well - appointed, and clean. However, be careful what you leave out lest the chamber maid mistake it for a "present". The nightly programmes have some wonderful elements to them but after the second time seeing the house dancers, I was bored to tears. Overall, the facilities do show their age but I would definitely not call them run-down or unacceptable. The exception is the large conference room. The beach is fantastic. The best pizza was presented by a very earnest fellow from "Raphael"s. I wanted to give him a separate plug because his pizza absolutely was the best I have had,.

Starfish Cuatro Palmas: Very nice downtown resort

Overall a very nice resort, the rooms are large and clean and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Cons, the rooms next the street are noisy as there is a night club across the street but the poolside rooms are very quiet.

Hotel Bella Costa: we would go again

The resort is a nice size to get around and has all the features we would have expected. The staff were well organized and it was clear that there was good management running this resort. We found the food better than expected. The down side was when we arrived we had to change rooms because of no power or air conditioning in the first room. They did upgrade us and put us in a room with a balcony though and we were pleased with that room.

Brisas Del Caribe: Would never go back

Our stay at the resort was ok. The room at the south part was so updated and very filthy. Stained bed sheets were never changed during our 7 day stay. No hand towels. One piece of ceiling in the bathroom fell down on my head. No apologies from receptionist after my complain. We liked the beach and the night shows.

Punta Peninsula Varadero: Enjoyable Vacation

Our rooms were clean, the ocean and beach was beautiful and the food was decent. Be careful of the mosquito they like Canadian blood. The entertainment at night and in the afternoon was good. We enjoyed our trip.

Muthu Playa Varadero: It was totally amazing!!!!

everything was fantastic!!! very clean resort, amazing people the food was excellent, the beach was fabulous, the entertainment was fantastic, looked forward to it every evening. The room was clean. Would go back to this resort

Muthu Playa Varadero: wrost costumers service

No water in the mini freeze compare to other hotels that i been, no towel service, hotel way overrated, food is ok , this hotel is an old ppl resort if you under 35 this place not for you , beach is dirty they don't clean it full of fallen leafs hard to walk

Melia Peninsula Varadero: A good all inclusive family resort in Varadero.

The staff at the resort are very friendly and polite and they work very hard to make your stay a pleasant one. The grounds and public areas are always clean and they offer a variety of buffet and dining experiences. The stage performances and bands are enjoyable and provide are a wide range of family and adult entertainment.

Punta Peninsula Varadero: Great location but lacking in customer service

The facility was well laid out to give a feeling of spaciousness. Our room was fantastic: looked out on the ocean, a rare thing in most resorts. The beach was great and was always kept clean. The rooms, however, were not cleaned daily, the minibar was not restocked with water if there was a little left in the fridge, and towels were in short supply. I frequently had to hunt up housekeeping to get toil [... read more]et paper, towels, water etc. Entertainment was good, but some of it was not advertised, so we would catch the end of something that we would have enjoyed.

Grand Memories Varadero: Great resort!

This was a pretty big resort with a not so great layout in my opinion. The rooms were clean, but they have a towel problem. We were often given a number of small hand towels and or face clothes instead of bath towels in our room, or we would get the bath towels but no hand towels or face clothes. The food was better than I had experience at the previous resort we stayed at in Cuba, but it was still not the greatest! But it's Cuba, it is expected. They did have numerous condiments at this resort, [... read more] the previous did not! The beach was beautiful! Resort was very clean except for the dishes left in small metal bins throughout the evening which were sometimes broken by morning. As well as some problems with the dishes in the dining room, I would check them before using. We travelled with a group of approx.. 20 people and attended a wedding on site. The wedding was quick but nice! The wedding dinner, as expected it's Cuba, not so great but edible. None of our party experienced any stomach problems from the food or water at this resort! Staff was not overly friendly but it is a big resort. We were approached on our last night and several times before by some of the staff wanting to exchange Canadian dollars for pesos at par, which does not add up given the exchange on the American dollar right now! Beware! Overall we enjoyed our stay and would return! BTW I am not a picky traveler, I am just glad to get away and have some sun and sand. If you are picky you should not travel to Cuba!!

Memories Jibacoa: Beautiful, quiet, relaxing - off the beaten path

Wonderful property away from the major centers in Cuba. The staff are excellent, the grounds immaculate and rooms clean. The food is better than average for Cuba, but the staff make this resort special. Come here if you want a relaxing holiday with a more mature crowd. Do not come here if you are looking for the Varadero crowd. Is it an aging resort - the beds are getting old, the bathrooms need updating, but the staff is responsive and helpful and it was always clean and perfectly maintained. T [... read more]here is an amazing coral reef just off shore - incredible! I would not hesitate to return. It is very well run.

Hotel Bella Costa: fun place to holiday at

Grounds ,rooms, and public areas kept clean. good affordable family hotel,could do with some updating in some areas, Staff very friendly and helpful. Great value for your buck. Beach and ocean absolutely beautiful.

Brisas Del Caribe: Not a bad Stay at the Brisas Del Caribe

We Stayed at the Brisas Del Caribe, from Jan 27th to F2b 6th. the overall stay at the brisas was good.. Food was so so.. lots of the time it was cold but other wise good, you could usually find something to eat. The hotel has two sections the North and South, The North section is the main building and is closest to the beach, lots of entertainment at night so if you want a quiet early night, stay in the South Section. Both sections have undergone renovations and they are still being renovated o [... read more]n. We Stayed in the north section on the 4th floor Room 415. Its was a nice room with a view of the Pool and you could see the Ocean.. Only real complaint about the room was the lack of hot water. It was usually luke warm to warm.. Staff at the resort were nice and friendly. For 5 cuc you can take the double decker bus into varadero and ride all day on the one price. Good places to eat in varadero are Lili's its a Chinese restaurant and the food is very good, its located across from the Main Flea market around 22nd st. Also Casa de Miel has great fish and pizza... its located a few blocks west of Lili's.

Hotel Los Cactus: Beautiful Resort

The resort was nice not to big, the grounds were kept and the staff are wonderful they try to do everything they can for you. The garden view suites were huge with two rooms and they were very clean. The beach is absolutely amazing with white powdery sand and NO seaweed. The whole resort is dated a little paint would go a long way. The only thing I can fault is the food it was repetitive and just not good. Palma Real: Close to down town

This is my third time staying here. Very close to downtown walking distance to beach and disco. staff friendly, food is to be expected for what you pay for.I would go back. There is a snack bar, store and entertainment

Mar Del Sur: poor hotel

Two weeks without running water almost all the time. to small restaurant to accommodate all the tourists and low level food... I love Cuba and travel quite often to Varadero. I’ve been to Mar del Sur before, but every time is going worst and worst… Otherwise nice people and always friendly!
