Grand Sirenis Tropical Suites: Dated.

We were given rooms in B block which we were told were the best. When we went to get our keys we were all now in J. J had a major problem with sewer smell & air that didn't work. 2 in our group had to insist on a change due to health concerns. New room was much better but we had to get help from our Transit rep because the front desk kept putting us off. pool bathroom is disgusting. They need someone there more often to clean & supply.. Food was decent & the wait staff very pleasant.

Sunscape Dominican Beach: Was okay.

The resort is self was good, although as we found out it has been sold. There are many repairs that needed to be done and the buffet was the same every night. Last year (2015 ) the buffet was much better. The grounds were kept cleaned and staff was very friendly.

Alsol Del Mar: Fantastic vacation - loved the resort and the staf

The resort was wonderful, exactly what we expected. A quiet small resort, only two restaurants, the beach grill at lunch and the main restaurant, but the menu changed nightly. Infinity pool was fantastic, a small beach, lots of cabanas and lounges. Special shout out to Cappauccino for coordinating the entertainment, Julia and Yaniris our servers at the beach grill and Bety our night time maid. All staff were very helpful and responsive to all requests.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Beautiful Resort

What can I say, it was a wonderful vacation! The weather was great! This resort is beautiful, everything is well kept, a shuttle is available if you need a ride. Pools are clean, entertainment staff awesome, beach is beautiful, food & drinks great. This was my second trip here!!

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: I have been to better

Although the resort was somewhat nice and you did have full access to the adjoining resorts, I found this resort very boring the entertainment was lacking, service was not up to par either. I have been to Punta Cana numerous times and this resort is the only one I would not return to. It did have some good qualities but the bad out weighed the good in my opinion. Rooms were never clean upon us returning from a day at the beach around 5 pm. We had to ask for towels everyday as well. I will not be recommending this resort to anyone however I would HIGHLY recommend Trip Central as they were great throughout the whole booking process and answered all my questions even the stupid ones. 5 Stars for them.

Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort: Good for kids. Couples, not so much...

This hotel is dated and the rooms are due to be renovated. Which is just as well as the room we received was terrible. Dirty grout etc. We travelled as three friends and had booked one room with three beds. They initially gave us a horrible room with a two beds and a cot. It took a lot of arguing at reception and showing of other rooms before we got one of the renovated ones, which turned out to be a good room. Food was ok. Lobby bar was good, staff here were very good. Beach was excellent. This resort is not on the main Punta Cana beach, but the beach was beautiful. Shows and entertainment were very good. Resort had a small water park which was actually quite impressive for a hotel, but hardly used. Like it never quite worked as an attraction. Short walk from hotel, yes an actual walk, which might put off those who can't leave the buffets. Lots of Russians, German and Canadians. Lots of smoking. My sunglasses were stolen... If with kids, this resort would work. If a couple, look somewhere else.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great resort - treated like royalty !

Rooms were extraordinary. Food was the best I've had at a resort - eating lamb, duck and lobster - even for lunches ! Staff were very friendly and professional. We travelled with Tripcentral and Air Canada - they looked after us - everything was taken care of - excellent service. Only complaint I have for the resort is the chair reservations at the beach - the only way to get a lounge chair overlooking the ocean at the beach was to go reserve a chair at 4am. Even around the pool - there were a l [... read more]ot of chairs, but only way to get an umbrella was to go reserve it at 7:30 am. The resort should not allow this to happen.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Beautiful Resort

Really well kept grounds and clean resort. Beautiful white sand beach and sea very good for swimming. Staff mostly friendly but many spoke no English or only little. Any side trips were very expensive and we ended not taking any of them. Not a friendly location for non-smokers. Restaurants were smoke free but cigar and cigarette smokers were allowed to smoke inside all the buildings and spoiled the air for non-smokers. Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Great family resort

Beautiful resort...close to beach...lots to do..nice rooms...especially the large bathrooms...good food...al carts okay...beach was clean..the staff were all great...they really love kids...both pools were nice...lots of great evening entertainment ...

Fantastic resort, great food,very clean rooms, very friendly staff, eager to please, our second time there and hope to return next year!!!i would highly recommend this resort , beautiful white sandy beaches, lots of excursions available if you wish to do so, and much great entertainment during the day around the pools and on the beach. Plenty of entertainment in the evenings in the theatre or main lobbys

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Great Family Oriented Resort

My family (husband, two daughters and their husbands and two grandchildren aged 8 & 10) had a wonderful vacation at Dreams Punta Cana. The grounds are outstanding, food plentiful and very good. The entertainment team worked so hard to keep us all happy...can't say enough good things about them. Only con would be the rooms which were a little smaller and tired looking than the pictures indicated and the bathrooms dark. TRS Turquesa: Great resort

Big resort with 4 sections. Royal suites has the biggest perks. Well worth the extra as you get a la carte reservations to all the different restaurants made by your butler, a couple of restaurants exclusive to you, golf carts to take you around the resort, and a pool and bar open very late if you want to enjoy a swim at night. Rooms were very nice. Washrooms at beach and other public areas were very clean at all times. Plenty of food and choices to please everyone. Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great hotel for a vacation : Luxury Ambar

Hotel is for adult only. 2 sections with Pools (one near the beach, other further but excellent for afternoon quiet time. Great restaurants. Many to choose from. Excellent service everywhere from staff.

Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort: Very nice resort

Old hotel, but clean, people try to do reparations. We always had a hot water in our room, the food was good, very nice shows at night - good dancers and decorations, and beach is nice too. The only thing I didn’t like its that we had to liberate our room at 12am, but at 11am they already cut our accesses and I had to go reception and make them to correct it.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: One resort that delivers...

We were 2 mature couples who traveled the world including a few inclusive/adult resorts, with more than high expectations. The location "Punta Cana" was outstanding; the resort "spotless"; the entertainment and food better than average; the staff from the booking to the shuttle, the Hotel and cleaning was more than accommodating. It was a relaxed and smooth vacation in spite of the size of the complex (adult and family-over 1000 rooms) although separate from each other shared restaurants. The co [... read more]mplex spread along the beach made for wonderful walks but also offered constant shuttle trains as alternative. Of course there might be dishes that were not to our likes, neighbors with total luck of consideration (noisy/smokers/w/sense of entitlement: reserving chairs). The way I see it, these individuals make their presence in any type of resort, no fault to the complex. One thing that could be improved? make wifi available and free even if in lobby only.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Excellent resort

Grounds were well groomed, staff were super, beach was superb! Great time at this resort! It was a great vacation! Shows were very entertaining, the Michael Jackson show was the greatest! The resort will not disappoint!

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Great Resort for the Price

Just arrived back from the resort, rested, tanned and a few pounds heavier thanks to the great food. AirTransat personnel was great for fixing quickly issues or concerns. Busy place but relaxing. Booking a King bed doesn't mean you get one, at least right away if you don't mind switching rooms later. Otherwise you are stuck with two double beds. Drinks are very generous. Suggest you bring your insulated travel mugs (Big Bubba's are ideal). Adults side, things shut down at midnight with food stopping at 10:30pm. Otherwise you have to go to the Deluxe side where families are to get 24h food and beverage. No swim up bar on the adults side which is different but no one seemed to mind. You never wait long for your drinks from the friendly staff. Grounds are well maintained and cleaned including the beach front. Excursions being offered are quite pricey given they are in US dollars ($100US avg per person) Some excursions like the sailing adventure we wouldn't recommend. It's $115US /person. and it's 4 hrs on a boat that simply passes by the front of the hotel and stops just down the beach. The place is busy with the beach stretching down a line of resorts. All the excursions pass in front of the hotel so there are lots of boats with music pumping up and down running up and down the beach. Also, the helicopters…average of 4-5 of them buzzing overhead that felt like you were at a military base. With all that aside, we did enjoy ourselves, met some great people and did relax with some great weather. Don't be afraid to try this place, you won't be disappointed.

Second time at this resort but we stayed in the punta cana section the first time and decided to try Ambar. Best decision .We were 7 people and had 4 rooms , 2 in Ambar 1 and 2 in Ambar 2 despite having requested all rooms in Ambar 1 because we are all beach bums and wanted to be close to the beach. The rooms in Ambar 2 are newer than 1 but both were equally beautiful. Check in is done at the Ambar 3 lobby (this is only a lobby - there is not an Ambar3 section). They checked us all in together a [... read more]s a group and the girl that checked us in was not very friendly. Fortunately it was the only time this happened during our 7 days there. All staff no matter where you were , beach , lobby etc went out of their way to accommodate us. We were beside the Ambar 2 pool and the only time we were there was when we would walk through it to get to the beach. It was like walking through a cemetery it was so quiet. Ambar 1 pool on the other hand was very busy and not so quiet when we walked through it on our way to the beach. We had to get up every morning before 6 and get a palapa because we wanted shade and if you don't you wont get a chair let alone shade. By 7 oclock you wont get one and by 8 good luck finding a chair. There are guys on the beach with yellow shirts that brush the sand off your chair all day long and they will find you a chair if you cant find one. The waiters on the beach are very friendly and work very hard running up and down the beach to get drinks for you . The beach is amazing and hardly any seaweed all week and if there was it was raked up very quickly. I had e-mailed the resort ahead of time for a la cartes reservations but didn't have any when we got there but had no problem booking 3 for the 7 of us although I did hear other people saying that they could not get any.The restaurant by the beach was our go to for lunch. They bbq'd every day , chicken pork , beef and burgers. The buffets were nice and we found that the Ambar 2 buffet better and less busy. All 3 a la cartes we went to were very good and a change from the buffet. We walked around a lot at night checking out all the lobbys and found entertainment in every lobby (seems like they rotate from one lobby to the other ) so you never know what is where and in what lobby. We tried to go to the Micheal Jackson show but it was so crowded we could not get in but sat outside and listened so if you want to go, go early. We did not go to any other show so can't comment on them. We did go to the pueblo principe a lot for shopping and once at night where they had a band and people were dancing.We had blast and wanted to return but ran out of time. If you are thinking about booking this resort don't hesitate. Champagne for breakfast , caviar ,sushi ,lobster for dinner , great a la cartes , great drinks, beautiful rooms , great weather. One thing I will say though, when we were booking we noticed that all the sections were pretty much the same price.If you don't have kids choose the Ambar it is much less crowded and you have more room at the beach. They are packed like sardines in the other sections. There is no way this resort can expand anymore because of the limited beach space unless they build to the left where there seems to be space between the next resort. We loved this resort and hope that we can return soon for a third visit.

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: very clean and enough to do.

Hotel is spread out,would like to know where your room is going to be.ground floor or higher.Rooms are clean and toilet and showers excellent.Meals in special location are great.Buffet lot of food.No free wi-fi in loby is nuisance.

Like that the resort is near the beach. Food was good. Loved the catch of the day but overall not the best resort I have been too. A bit disappointed for such an expensive resort. Would not come back ever.
