Hotel Los Cactus: Gets Better & Better
This was my 8th time to this resort and I return because of the all around great experience every time. The entire staff are always so warm, friendly and eager to please! The rooms are comfortable, the buffet keeps improving, the hotel grounds and the buildings are clean and well kept! This will be my shangri-la forever! Excellent work everyone!
Valentin Perla Blanca: amazing beach!!!
Oceanfront hotel room was nice, room very clean and nice shampoo and body wash products. 1 beer 1 cola 1 water in fridge. Great morning coffee, food was good but limited. bus ride is 1.5 hours, customs was quick. all in all very good for the money.
Starfish Varadero: Great Staff
This is a three star resort opened in 1977. It has seen better times and is maintenance deprived. The bungalow was clean and well located. Shows are poor in quality but not in effort. This is a Cuban resort frequented by Russian Tourists ans French Canadians.
Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Typical Cuban resort
grounds beautiful, food-always found something good to eat, staff was great. We were there with a group of 15, older resort, rooms were clean but each room had an issue, out of the 8 rooms, no one had a patio door that locked, 2 of the safe's did not work. Overall it is what you should expect for the price, we had a great time!
Iberostar Selection Holguin: It was ok
The room and the food were excellent spread out over too large area. It was a long walk across a bridge to the large beach minimal beach bar no beach barbecue there is no spa the employees were very pleasant and polite small beach had a nice bar Henry was very good and lots of joking around
Club Karey: Amazing staff
Not much too eat but very clean good staff, not too noisy, good entertainment, snack bar was very good, pool is clean, drinks are cold and refreshing, music was great, private restaurant was delicious, like the beds, woke up in shape
Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Great time
Staff was great as was the beach and pools. Hotel could use a freshening up but much better then others that I have been to that were rated 4 star. If enjoy walking lots of trails off the resort and the snorkeling near the resort was very good with lots of fish. Would consider going back
Iberostar Selection Holguin: Very classy
Top knotch facility located on many lush acres Lots of ambience Exceptionall well maintained Staff well trained, very courteous and work tirelessly to please Relaxing and accomodates all age groups
Melia Cayo Coco: Best resort in Cuba
Everything was just top notch, from the booking process with Tracey Weldon-Duffin who has always been so helpful to our flight home. It is a smaller hotel which we prefer. Food was excellent and way above Cuban standards. Rooms are comfortable and well maintained. We phoned maintenance about a drip when we went to breakfast. It was repaired before we returned so less than an hour. Beach is very large and more than enough chairs you didn’t need to reserve. We have been twice and will defini [... read more]
Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Good place to stay!
Nice place! Good food, clean room and common areas. Building is showing some age but as long as its clean I am happy. Air conditioner in room smells moldy though. Loved staying at the sanctuary section.
Palma Real: Never again!
Terrible hotel, very bad food and the pool bar was closed for the entire duration of our trip. The resort was pretty dead and didn’t have many snack options (only tuna sandwich at night) I fell sick during the latter half of the trip from the food
Hotel Los Cactus: Beautiful beach, crappy food.
The staff is wonderful and you can’t get a better beach and beautiful water. But that’s it. Food at the buffet is cold and is a food poisoning disaster waiting to happen. There also wasn’t a lot of food. They ran out of wine and vodka. We are repeat customers and now that it has new owners we had to pay extra upon arrival to stay in any room other that the ones in the building. Apparently they do this to everyone. They said we were staying in the renovated rooms which was inaccurate [... read more]
Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Super relaxing!
The food options were not the greatest, not much for people with intolerances and I got sick. They gave us keys that didn’t work three times in a row our first night. Other than those things but was a lovely peaceful stay.
Resonance Blu Varadero: not as expected
hotel grounds are too spread out and requires lot of walking to get from one point to the other. food was not to standard. birds are all over the food and hotel staff is not addressing this problem. I requested room close to everything due to mobility problems my wife is having and this request was granted. however the bathtub was about two feet from the floor. on the pro side I must say the staff and services were great. the pools were fantastic and so were the entertainment. grounds were well [... read more]
Playa Pesquero: Great resort
Almost perfect resort, especially in Low season. Great for kids, a lot of plants and trees. Lots of shade in the resort and the beach. Montecristo room is perfect size for a family with kids. There could be some minor improvements. Food can be improved but the variety is good.
Brisas Guardalavaca: 2nd trip there
hotel was awesome food was good service was good only issue was no fries for a few days and potatoes were also not there for a day or so but other wise was 5 star service all the way the shows were good also loved the black light show
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: A Hidden Gem
This resort is an absolute hidden gem in Varadero! The staff were fantastic and went out of their way to make our trip absolutely memorable! If you stay, I highly recommend the Royal Package as it is worth every penny. Our butler Joel was great and made our reservations for restaurants on the first day of our stay. All of the restaurants (other than the Italian) were amazing and in particular, the Cuban restaurant was our favourite. To the beach bar staff, Nacho and Lily, thank-you for your hosp [... read more]
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Paradisus Princess Del Mar
Great resort, enjoyed our honeymoon there, weather great, customer service #1, we would go back there in a heartbeat, very friendly staff, the grounds were very well maintained & clean. The 1 draw back was the slight smell of mildew in the room but we got past that by opening the patio doors for a while during the day.
Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Amazing Vacation!
We had a wonderful time at the Gran Caribe Club Cayo Guillermo. The resort is an older resort but extremely well maintained. The grounds were well maintained and clean. The pools crystal clear. The beach beautiful with the ability to walk in both directions quite far. It is a beach frequented by kite surfers so lots to watch! The main pool has a wonderful pool bar with an excellent grille for hamburger, fries, etc. The drinks great. My favourite place - the lobby bar and cafe had wonde [... read more]
Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Great Place To Unwind
