Paradisus Cancun: Great Resort for a Family Vacation

We travelled as a group of 10, 6 adults and 4 children. This resort was great and appealed to all age groups. The kids really enjoyed the kids club and activities plus it gave them a break from the sun during the hottest hours of the day. The most fun was when they brought out a huge inflatable water slide! What stands out to me most about the Paradisus Cancun is the service. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, the pool service was constant, we were truly spoiled. I did find a huge dead cockroach in my room one night but I didn't see any others during my stay. I thought the food was average although some of our group loved it, the drinks were delicious, try a shot called 'mini beer', yum! The rooms were spacious enough although a little dated but the cleanliness made up for that. The beach was gorgeous and the pool was enormous, we loved both. The resort itself is really confusing as to which elevator to take to get where you need to go. It's divided in the middle so you can't get through. In short, I would recommend this resort as long as your expectations are realistic for a 4.5 star resort.

Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort and Spa: A little disappointed but still worthwhile

This was only our second experience at a Secrets Resort and it had a very different feel. Our room was perfectly located, by chance of cou, but we were very appreciative. The food was not nearly as good as our last trip but the staff was friendly and attentive in the bars. Our maid service was poor but the room was maintained. The pools were great but beach was not. Terrible time getting bath towels and beds made.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Resort is 5++

This resort was by far the best 5 star my husband and I have stayed at in Mexico. The service was top notch, food variety and presentation was amazing and the entire resort was so clean. The rooms were very modern and overall, many entertainment options to choose from throughout the day and evenings. We met a number of couples that were returning, not their second time but 5+ times. We will be back to this resort very soon. It’s a gem!!!

Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos: Great resort, too quiet at night.

Beautiful hotel. Fantastic food. Spacious rooms. Too quiet in the evenings, better suited for families and older travellers. Firepits are awesome,should be left in later than 10pm. Beautiful pools, only one is heated... making a very small pool over crowded. Air Canada Vacations is terrible. Very disappointed in my agent from TripCentral.

JOIA Paraiso by Iberostar: Excellent Resort

The hotel was beautiful and the service was outstanding. Food was excellent. It was difficult to get reservations for the a la carte restaurants. They seemed to be fully booked every single night and the only times available were not suitable for us. When we complained to management about this, they made it work. We were able to get to try all the restaurants but I was just disappointed that I had to complain to management in order to secure the reservations to the restaurants. The pools were  [... read more]all beautiful although we spent most of our time at the beach. Lounges at beach were plenty and there was no problem to get beach huts. Although there was a wide expanse of sandy area, the actual shore had many rocks and seaweed, which was disappointing.

Riu Yucatan: Great trip

The resort was clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful breakfast was good but the dinners need work. dinner at the steakhouse was delicious the beach was gorgeous well maintained even with the seaweed being the worst they have had this year.

The Fives Downtown Hotel: Best Urban Hotel Ever!!

For this trip I wanted something different than the typical 'resort' feel but still wanted to be close to the beach and to the nightlife but I did not want to sacrifice quality accommodations or hotel amenities. It's a surprisingly large, never packed infinity pool overlooking the ocean. Really a dream pool experience. The hotel rooms are huge! Incredible rain-shower feature and I was lucky enough to have a double sink in my washroom. Whether you're traveling solo or with friends, this is the place you'll want to stay if you don't want to be in 'resort land'. The food is incredible! Very gourmet/modern twist, excellently plated; creative recipes including grilled octopus to more traditional foods like hardy juicy hamburgers. I only went out to eat at restaurants and street food vendors outside of the hotel a few times because the food was just so amazing. AND IT WAS ALL INCLUSIVE - A PLEASANT SURPRISE GIVEN QUALITY AND STYLE OF HOTEL. I highly recommend the all inclusive plan option. The tequila bar is awesome. Sports on all tv's, cool vibe and open to the public. You'll meet all kinds of travelers. I could go on forever... this place had superb service and staff. Top-notch.

Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya: Total satisfaction

Staff is fantastic. From bellmen to servers to front desk, the employees went out of their way to insure our stay was fantastic. Resort was exceptionally well maintained. Dining options were many and all excellent. Entertainment options throughout the day. Also plenty of quiet areas if you just wanted relaxation. A great value and will absolutely visit again. A+++

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Dream Vacation

The Luxury Bahia Principe Akumal met our every expectation. The impeccable grounds, the amazing service, the lovely pools and the calm ocean lagoon all contributed to a wonderfully restful week. The resort is massive but a regular trolley enabled us to get to every location quickly. We booked several restaurants the first day and really enjoyed the Brazilian and Seafood restaurants. Secrets Huatulco: Beyond our expectations

This was my third time to this resort with my wife and we had another fabulous time. This was our first time in a king swim out room and I don't think we could stay anywhere else now lol. This hotel still has the best service compared to anywhere else we have been to. If you are a pool person and love hot weather you can't go wrong here. The sand on the beach is hot so you need water shoes but we didn't go to the beach once this trip because we are pool people. Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta: An amazing time!

This hotel is such a great place! We’ve found the one that everyone is always looking for when traveling. The one where you want to go back year after year. Every group or couple we talked to it was their 6th or 12th or 18th time here and that speaks volumes. The king was firm but we had good sleeps and it had lots of pillows. The bathroom was somewhat smaller and once you get two people getting ready it gets tight. The view is to die for and the balcony was huge! We had coffee every morning and watched the lights of pv every night out there. Pools: They are not freezing cold like mentioned, They are somewhat heated and very well maintained. Once you get in for a quick second it’s a small refreshing feeling then it’s like a bath tub. We watched maintenance replace any tile that was broken or missing unlike some reviews saying they are all broken everywhere. Not true. Pool bar was fantastic and service was the best we’ve had! Although I do worry about the lack of times people leave the pool all day if you know what I mean.... upstairs at the sonne club it was everything next level, service, drinks, food and smiles. Beatric took care of absolutely everything and I mean everything! This pool also had a hot tub on either side which was way too hot for us but lots of people were using it. Restaurants: We had the outdoor buffet style a couple times and it was great every time! It is shared seating if you’re a small couple but what better way to meet new folks. We had dinner at the Italian twice and the Chula vista outside area one night. Each place was amazing and the service was second to none. Breakfast every morning was outside at the veranda and is a must if you book club! Such a nice start to your day and once again service is top notch! We ordered room service a couple times and it is slow but to be expected, it was very good with lots of options. The food here is the best we’ve had at any all inclusive and they do the best to make everyone happy. Pool side they have cookouts with anything from fish to chicken or steak. A must is the fish tacos pool side, they were the best! 7th to 9th floor happy hour is a nice touch too as they had snacks like wings or finger food and drinks readily available with coffee or pastries in the mornings. Service: They must get a training seminar because we stayed at grand fiesta in Cabo and service there was incredible as well. Here though because it’s a smaller resort you get to interact more with the same group of staff. I really don’t like name dropping but these folks do one hell of a job from Arron in the veranda and 7th floor lounge to Raphael also at veranda and 9th floor lounge. Andreas at the pool bar was very welcoming, happy and such a good spirited guy. Oscar at the sonne club would never leave you hanging and they would bring you buckets of water or beer or both. Francisco, tip of the hat to you sir, you run a truly amazing resort! We will be back again!

Ocean Maya Royale: Awesome vacation

We stayed at Ocean Maya last week and enjoyed every moment. The entertainment staff are so amazing. Big thank you to Christian and Andrea for making our week so special. If you are looking for a deal on excursions be sure to see Margarita by the pool. She had better rates then the front did. We did the Mayan ruins and cenotes. It was absolutely the highlight of our trip. The resort was well kept. The rooms were very nice. The only downfall was the seaweed which a problem in Mexico this year. [... read more] I wouldn’t hold that against the resort as they made every effort to clean it daily.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Great Resort

Large clean resort. Staff very friendly and go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Lots of choices for dining from buffets to a la Cartes with a huge selection of different foods. Shuttles will take you anywhere on the resort.

Riu Santa Fe: Lively resort

Everything was good. The only change I would make would be not to go there in March as it is spring break and quite noisy and not relaxing. The food was good and lots of it. The amenities was good. The location is priceless with the view and close to town. The service was excellent from staff and very polite.

Grand Oasis Sens: Beyond terrible

This was not a suitable hotel. Our room stunk like the inside of a musty toilet. It stunk so bad that every time we entered, it made us gag. We complained and asked to be moved to another room and were told “ No. hotel is full” it took two days of fighting for a new room and we had to get our Transat rep involved before hotel staff would even attempt to resolve the problem. On our third day they finally moved us to a room that was a bit better. However we had to be out of our stinky room by  [... read more]noon and had no access to our newly assigned room until 3pm. Upon moving into our new room we found that the room safe was broken and had to wait for a repair before we could leave our valuables. Ultimately the hotel cost us an entire day out of our vacation. We have washed our belongings three times since our return home and still everything smells like the musty stinky room. We would never ever stay here again. No one looked happy, staff or guests. Staff... probably because they were dealing with constant complaints and guests probably because of smelly rooms.no restaurants were open past 10pm. Not enough shade provided on beach. One day security would not allow guest in the ocean. No lifeguard on duty. Said it was not safe to swim and yet resorts right next door on either side were allowing swimming.

Barcelo Puerto Vallarta: Great Vacation at Barcelo!!

Travelled to Barcelo in late Feb and had a great week. The 4 of us found the food quite to our liking, the pool was excellent and the service was fantastic. Only drawback is no free wifi area and it's too far for easy access to the old town area. Highly recommend this resort.

Golden Parnassus Resort & Spa: Good resort

Service at this resort is absolutely amazing! The staff is what makes this resort function. Rooms are out dated and the food was good but definitely room for improvement. Not much night life at this resort.

The Pyramid Cancun: Overall this resort has all the things you need

Food was great, nice exciting restaurants (Black hole & Bensuza). The biggest problem we had was there is no control of noice after 11 pm. The party people would come in and it would get loud. We were in the Pyramid part, so ear plugs are a must. We would go back staff was awesome, any problems were addressed quickly. For a huge resort it did not seem crowded. But you must upgrade to the black pyramid bands to enjoy the best places on the resort. Recommend doing before you leave home.

Viva Azteca by Wyndham: really enjoyed this resort

Staff could not have been more attentive, rooms dated but clean, beautiful beach and were still able to swim in ocean regardless of the seaweed (which s harmless and doesn't smell bad either). We enjoyed the food very much and no long lineups at the buffet or the bars. Great place and service - we will definitely be going back next year!

Azul Ixtapa Resort: Stunning and very well maintained!!!

All the grounds and public areas are extremely well maintained .... There are always people working on maintenance very respectfully!! All the staff are very friendly ... No complaints on maintenance or food!!! The only complaint - there is an optional time share element and the sales person called it a vacation club ... Just be aware if you DON'T want to waste your time...
