Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great Family Vacation

We just spent a week at Grand Bahia Principe Coba. There were 15 of us spanning 4 generations. Everyone, young and old, had a great time. We would recommend this resort for anyone of any age. We ranged from 2 to 87. The accommodations, staff, food, pools were great.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: It's a gem of a resort once you get past the lobb

Although some of the furniture in the lobby and beach chairs could use some updating this was a nice resort and I would consider going back. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was great but service was some times a little slow. The proximity from our room to the beach was awesome. Yes there is seaweed in the water but not big deal. They have a tractor that does it's best to collect the seaweed that washes ashore and yes there is some in the water but nothing that The beach was n [... read more]ice but it could have been raked better by the beach chairs. Not any fault of the staff, many guests were quick to litter and leave their cigarette butts all over the place. There are no tables to put drinks or beach bags on the beach. Beach bar service was a 5 Star! I have traveled to many 5 star resorts and never experienced the service that I got here. If your fortunate enough to be there when Gabriel is working she will look after you. :) Caesar (who works at reception) was amazing and worked with my sister and I to upgrade our room. Once again excellent customer service. Entertainment at this resort was great! There was always something to do and you didn't have to go looking for a disco if you wanted to listen to music and dance. Lots going on by the pool bar. Shows were great and although we didn't travel with children we did notice on several walks there was always something for kids to do. Just to be clear even though there is a family section to this resort you wouldn't know unless you went looking for it. We would see children and breakfast and the buffet in the evenings but other than that the odd time there would be a child in the swim up pool area with parents. Grounds and pools are well maintained. Rooms are decent. The main thing...they are clean :) No this resort is not a 5 Star but great value for your money and I would go back. :)

Tukan Hotel Playa Del Carmen: hotel was good value with no problems.

Hotel was clean and staff helpful. Enjoyed the location including nearby ocean and entertainment. Nightlife and restaurants offered great choices in town. Ocean was great with several beaches to choose from.

Grand Riviera Princess: Fun in the sun!

Nice resort. Lots of walking which is not a problem unless you have mobility issues. We were a little disappointed in the beach. Rocky entry with some seaweed but that was the same as the other Mayan Rivieria resort we stayed at. Lots of pool choices but you have to get there fairly early for loungers. The resort was full when we were there so that may be why. We found the food to be good. Lots of variety so we always found something to eat. Al a carts were okay but really disliked the reservati [... read more]on system for this. We were allowed to book three al a carts at a time. Stood in line for one hour and pretty much had to take what was available instead of what we would have chosen. Only one girl working the reservation desk and she was also answering the phone and another employee standing watching her. That would be my only complaint about this resort. In my opinion the al a carts were not worth the hour of my vacation time spend in line. I would go back if the price was right but too many other places I would like to see before I would return.

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Is a beautiful resort!

The rooms are nice..huge and airy..lots of room! A huge variety of different foods. Lots to do right at the resort! The grounds are well kept. The workers there are all very nice and friendly! I was overall, very impressed. Also a nice selection of their gift shops.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Great resort!

We thoroughly enjoyed this resort! We were a party of 8, with 3 kids (7,10,13), 4 parents, and one grandmother! Everyone had fun! There is so much to do that you don't need to leave the resort! Restaurants were all great too!

Paradisus Playa del Carmen: Swanky spa/lounge resort

We traveled with 10 children ranging from 14-4 months. 2 master suites and a junior suite. We were spoiled upon our arrival. We were given cool cloths with essential oils to freshen up. Then while checking in the hostess brought trays of drinks for the children and adults. The bracelets are tasteful wood and fabric. The staff is very attentive to any special needs. One of the children has anaphylactic reactions to any traces of dairy. She was given an allergy ID for each restaurant. Awesome. In  [... read more]fact they had an entire box to choose your allergy/sensitivity card from. Our fabulous beds had real down duvets which you don't often see in tropical destinations. Lovely modern and classic decor. The showers are large enough for a family. Also indoor and outdoor jacuzzis. Awesome water pressure lol. Our kitchens yes plural had one formal dining area and one kitchenette. The dining area was perfect for when we indulged in the 24 Hour room service. 4 big screen tv's, we only used one but still. Stunning, stunning, stunning!!! This place was totally accessible for double strollers and they had scooters for those in need. It's a well planned place. Spa /lounge music and essential oils atomizing really set the tone for this 5* property. We were able to have some adults only dinners and take the kids to the Kids Club. It was excellent. They had different activities depending on the age group including rock climbing and some kind of mini zip lining. The food was excellent for those who are ready to have really fresh flavourful food. In the a la carte restaurants they allowed us multiple appetizers and desserts. We were able to get a real taste of the restaurants. We enjoyed all the different ethnic restaurants and the buffet was excellent. Lots of choices and constantly filled up and hot! The beach wasn't as bad as I had expected. We had an hour and a half of twigs and little seaweed but then it was suddenly gone. There's lots of umbrellas and lounge beds. You can always find shade, thank goodness because it was hot! My only negative comments are: no top bolt on the doors, it was easy for the little ones to figure out the bolt and the room was massive so we couldn't hear them trying to get it open. Secondly I wish they had complimentary shuttles to Playa Del Carmen it was actually expensive to go. We had two vans and one car. The vans were $24 each way and $16 for the car. It was a 10 minute drive. Thirdly and lastly, they do have a handful of people selling time shares and time at the spa and photography. We did go to the spa at the FamilyConcierge it was fantastic. Worth every penny. We also did have professional photos done and it was pricey but Vincent the photographer got great shots . He was amazing with the children. Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Biggest resort that I've been to so far.

I truly cannot say anything negative about this resort. The rooms, food, staff, pools etc. were amazing.I would definitely consider returning. Met some great people and staff members. The excursions were wonderful with great tour guides.

Viva Maya by Wyndham: Great resort

Nice size resort. Great beach and friendly and helpful staff. Close to playa del Carmen. Great a la carte restaurants and you can also book the restaurants at their sister resort the Azteca. Playacar is a good location.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Mediocre at Best

Upon check in toilet was not working in room - called front desk to send someone, waited 20 minutes and no one came. Called back and it sounded like they hadn't sent anybody in the first place. Waited another 30 minutes and no one came. Fixed it myself. Purchased a lock for the safe from the front desk, waited 15 minutes for shuttle back to room to find out that it would not insert into the safe properly. Called front desk to send someone to check out the problem. Finally he came within 10 minu [... read more]tes only to tell us that reception gave us the wrong key for the lock. Called back, asked them to send someone to bring a new lock and key as we had traveled back and forth many times already. They said we had to come back to pick a new one up. Traveled all the way back once again. Later that night we went out for a few hours and came back to a massive puddle in our front hallway, almost slipped and injured ourselves. Called front desk once again and they sent someone over after 30 minutes or so. A pipe was leaking in our ceiling apparently and it had flooded the front hallway. Purchased an hour of non consecutive use wifi from the gift shop through Kubi wireless for $8USD. I was very adamant about logging off completely after each use so as to not accidentally stay logged on and use up the wifi. I made a note of how much time I had left after the end of each session and when I logged back on hours later time had been deducted without my use. When I had about 10 minutes left it cut me off after about 7. Called Kubi from the front desk and he insisted I used the full hour and accused me of not logging off properly after each use. Waited on hold for a total of about 25 minutes. He recited off the blocks of time he claimed I used according to his records. The first time he said "I can see here 10, 10, 5, 5, 8." When I responded saying that did not add up to 60 minutes he cut me off and said "no here it says 20, 20, 20, 8." (Which, again, doesn't add up to 60 minutes haha). The reason I was so distressed by this was because I needed wifi to check my emails since I was organizing scuba diving training with a local instructor. Not as much the resorts fault but they chose to pair with this wireless service. I've used Boingo before which is much, much better. Spoken to their customer service reps for login problems and had no issues resolving it. Will not be coming back here. I've stayed in cheap, sketchy looking hostels for $7CAD a night and received much better customer service and had significantly less problems. Only thing that drove me to write this was the time wasted attempting to deal with these issues. I don't care about a broken toilet or safe but waiting around for hours to get it fixed after spending a couple hundred dollars a night for this resort is extremely frustrating. I also really did not feel as though the staff cared about our complaints; we felt very overlooked.

Catalonia Playa Maroma: Very nice resort and clean

For our first trip it was an awesome and beautiful resort. Loved the white smooth sandy beach. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. The buffet wasn t what we expected. Not hot enough. The entertaiment was great and those animators are very hard at work.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Beautiful Resort!

We had a wonderful time. The resort was very well maintained , staff was very helpful and super friendly. The only negitve would be the rooms. They were clean but a bit outdated .This is a place we won't hesitate to come back to!!

Grand Sunset Princess: Excellent Hotel

This Resort was fabulous, very clean and everyone was very helpful, Israel Loria was absolutely amazing, he was not only funny but tried his best to accommodate your every demand. He always had a great big smile and willing to listen. However there was an awful lot of walking, which was good because you could eat all you wanted.

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Beautiful resort!

I loved how well kept and clean this resort was! Amazing and friendly staff and services . Never had to wait for meals, drinks, rides! Loved how easy check out was...could use a second staff on duty tho for support.

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Best Vacation Ever!

This was our second trip to the resort, we loved it so much the first time that we decided this was where we wanted to get married. We were married at Sirenis in April and brought 50 of our friends with us. Everyone loved the resort and had a great time. They handled our all of our wedding details and concerns and I didn't have to worry about anything. The food was great, service was excellent and rooms were spotless everyday.

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: beautiful

The resort was amazingly beautiful and large. The food was fantastic and the variety was impressive. People were friendly as was the staff. Had a few minor incidents that could have easily been avoided with better communication. Very family oriented resort.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Amazing resort!

Everything was fantastic. Everything! Where to start? Food- 2 buffets were so good we wouldn't have missed the a la carts although they were pretty darn good aswell. Not to mention they also have a diner that does not need a reservation. There was also a burger joint a coffee bar and a crepe bar!! Nothing bad can be said about food or service. Beach- a bit rocky in places but made for great snorkelling. The staff was amazing. We had drink refills before we even knew we were empty. The bbq buffet [... read more] at the beach was great aswell! Hot dogs hamburgers corn on the cob nachos ice cream and lots of other yummy beach bbq stuff! I was a happy camper! Pools- Pool was huge! So many different sections that you didn't even know it wasn't adult only! It was clean and never over crowded. Francisco put up with us for many hours! Disco- Star Wars themed!! If you like dancing this is where it's at! It's all ages till 10pm after the adults are free to get their groove on! They had themed nights 70' 80's etc. It was a lot of fun!! Entertainment- the theatre had some sort of show every night. Yes it was a bit high school quality but none the less entertaining. Kids especially seemed to love it. Our entertainment was mostly in the lobby. We love karaoke! And there it was. My husband was in his glory! We would meet up with other people we met at the lobby bar every night. Great times were had by all! Rooms and grounds- it seemed there were always people working. Staff were busy sweeping sidewalks and gardening. The grounds were beautiful. Peacocks flamingos parrots and of coarse the coati made for some great photo ops! We loved the turtle pond off the lobby as well. Our room was kept immaculate. Not a grain of sand was found after they did their magic. And a small tip goes a long way. Our fridge was always fully stocked with dos Equis and water..at our request. It is a large resort but if you are too lazy to walk the golf carts run all day and night taking you where you want to go. We needed a few rides home from the disco. That being said the disco was far enough away that the rooms couldn't hear the rockin party going on. Staff- superior! So friendly and welcoming it was are first stay at iberostar beach but they made us feel like long time friends. I think I've covered it all!! Great resort! Would most definitely recommend to friends and family. I don't think we could have had a better time.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Average family vacation

I found the resort clean it has everything you would want however for me it was too large and I didn't find the rooms very special. Food was decent but nothing special there was always something to eat! Beach was clean and nice you could walk in one direction for quite a way. It is a long journey from the airport do you have to be prepared for that.

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Large resort and plenty of beach and pools to hang

Beach was not the greates. Some rocks/coral, so not as sandy as expected. Lots of pools, bars and restaurants available. Great wild life and amenities, including tennis courts and soccer field. Not a Mexican hotel

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Beautiful resort!

Everything was clean and pleasant. The only possible negative would be the rocks & weeds in the ocean area. The beach itself was beautiful and not crowded. In my opinion, if that is the only negative, it's a fantastic place!
