Paradisus Punta Cana: Good resort

Restaurants were below par for breakfast and lunch. Buffet style. However omlettes were made to order in the morning. No fresh sandwiches offered for lunch or late afternoon. Hot dogs, hamburgers and french fries at pool area bar under heaters in late afternoon. The restaurants for evening dining were average to slightly above average. The Spa was excellent. Great service. The layout of the resort was conducive to relaxation, spacious and inviting. The front desk staff as well as the concierge professional and extremely helpful. Location on the beach wonderful with security in sight but not obtrusive. Shopping in the resort was minimal but the boutique was excellent serving typical tourist T-shirts but a few higher end products. The golf course was a great and welcome change from the typical resort style, perfectly manicured, overly expensive and non-challenging round. Loved all the three 9's offered. Staff professional. I've saved the best for last....the Passion restaurant was beyond exceptional. The dining experience here was the hightlight of the trip.

Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: amazing but need updating

This hotel has beautiful grounds, well kept resort, very clean but definitely needs updating and renovation on the inside...the furniture are old and musty. curtains get stuck in their tracks or torn, pluming needs to be replaced as some guests complained that there was no hot water for showering . Food was always cold by the time you sit down, the waitresses was always quick to take your plates away and most of all noticed they are not shy to ask for tips...

Occidental Punta Cana: BEAUTIFULL RESORT.

Great Vacation,,one of the best resort that we ever been,, I should say the best so far. Great food, amazing people, beautiful beach very nice pools and very clean, the rooms are great beautiful gardens with very colorfull flowers, beautiful lobby with great colorfulcentre pieces full of beautifull flowers There"s so much to say about this beautiful resort,we will b back very soon. Supricing the security it is great 24 hours a day..THANK YOU OCCIDENTAL GRAN FO A GREAT TIME..

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Beautiful well maintained resort!

The resort was gorgeous. Very clean, the grounds were impeccably maintained and beautiful, our room was outstanding, the bar service around the pools and lobbies was excellent, the food was great, and dining room service very good. The only drawbacks from our point of view was that the resort was so huge that we had difficulty finding our way around and we were a fair distance from the ocean. The other thing was that many guests would save loungers around the pool and the beach and go off somewh [... read more]ere else so we were unable to find loungers even once at the beach and many times were stuck sitting in the hot sun around the pool! There is a rule at the resort that people are not to save loungers but this rule is poorly enforced. Communication was also difficult because of the language barrier. One other problem we found was that there was only one area where we could get light snacks all day, and that was down at the beach, which as I mentioned was a fair distance away. All other buffets and restaurants had set hours which was a bit inconvenient! The staff was very friendly.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Loved everything about it!

My husband and I plus my mom and dad, sister, hubby and 2 kids just came back from this resort and it was fantastic!! We would go back in a heartbeat. Yes the rooms could use a bit of an update and my dad wished there was a dresser drawer but we barely spent time in our rooms. The grounds are lush and beautiful, my favorite part was walking to the beach each day and stopping to look at the flamingos and coy pond! The food was incredible. The beach was always clean and the entertainment staff was so friendly and involved with not just getting us to do stuff but they took an interest in all our needs and life's. Ana, Super Luis, chocolate #1, Sandy beach and Benjamin Franklin are awesome to hang with! My one and only complaint which took away from the 5 stars was the wait it sometimes took to get drinks. The bar staff could be very slow at times so double up when you can! Nightly entertainment was cool as well. If you're into going off the resort, I actually spent a day doing animal rescue with a local group called Rescatame. I was able to learn a lot about their culture and see some beautiful areas and for free! You just need to donate your time! Please don't go swimming with the Dolphins at any location and please don't ride the horses as they try to sell and the owners do not treat either animals fairly so please don't support this and this is coming from many locals as well. If you do choose this resort you will have a blast! Oh and for $37 I brought a full suitcase with kids clothes, toiletries and dollar store items which I left small piles every morning for the maids with a couple of bucks and the look on their faces was pure joy. They need all they can get especially shoes of all sizes as they are hard to come by down there! Hope you have as much fun as we did!

Whala Bavaro: loved it.

i loved my trip this year. i had the best room I've ever had anywhere. the grounds were beautiful and everything kept clean. staff were always helpful if you needed anything. the pools were great and i loved the beach. it was what i wanted -a quiet trip. get a jr. suite if possible if not get rooms in the 1000 things that people might not like- beach was small not much room there was no activities if you are looking for excitement have to pay for your drinks after 11:00 p.m

Caribe Deluxe Princess: Resort needs work

Rooms need work!! we had to change room apron arrival because the air conditioning and the safe was not working. Second room was much better however it to had its issues. Example closet doors were broken and shower was not very clean. However the room was much larger and it had a better view. We talked to several people during our stay and they too had to change rooms. Food, I got stomach problems after the second dinner.

Punta Cana Princess: Awesome experience!

Wonderful, quiet, small setting with a personalized feel. Great food in the a la carts and the buffets. Nice beach and pool area, where you can participate in as much or as little of the activities as you want. Rooms are spacious and kept clean. Staff tried to please and are super friendly. Quick short ride to neighbouring resort, or walk to the spa. No bugs! An overall great time!

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Golf Paradise

Very modern and clean. Lots to do for children and adults. Good food and service. Golfing is good but $70 per person for the golf cart. Everything was well thought out when built. Shows are even entertaining. No complaints. Would certainly return here.

Caribe Deluxe Princess: Beautiful grounds

Incredible beach and beautiful grounds. Not impressed by the food. The staff was medium friendly, I have definitely had better. The rooms were good but the blankets grungy. We were put in a back room that was over some smelly drains and it took three nights to get a room change.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Amazing vacation at the Ambar

We have enjoyed the most wonderful week at the Ambar. The resort is amazing, the food is excellent, the animation team at the pool and during special events (Luis) do an excellent job. I also recommend going for a massage at the Spa; ask for Marcellina & Bianca.

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Exceptional value and top class resort

Iliana did a tremendous job setting up this booking - the resort was fantastic - two storey rooms ( we had deluxe) were perfect for the sets of golfers in pairs in our group, the resort was large and never crowded, the food and restaurants were anything that you would like (including the buffet - reccomend the snapper or tuna and perfectly acceptable wine lists with nice variety), the beer was always ice cold, the Pete Dye course was a delight and the golf attendants were top notch, the weather  [... read more]was perfect with the typical Carribean shower at two o'clock, the beach, ocean view and pool were top class, the casino was great fun, not too big, no smoking downstairs but had upstairs for the cigar lovers, (and we won) and most of all the staff were very friendly and attentive and never stopped smiling. We are thinking of going back there already - we didn't do 1/2 of the activities available ( we were there for golf) Don't think twice about this one! At the price we paid it was a steal.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Great resort

The resort is wonderful. It is clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It is a huge resort, so if you want to keep fit you can walk everywhere or take the little trains to transport you from your room (if not close to the beach/pool) to the pool and beach. The food is delicious and lots of variety in every restaurant. The entertainment is great and different most nights and there is something of interest going on in different locations, i.e. lobby, poolside, theatre. Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Will not return

Grounds beautifully maintained, food ok. Staff need to work on communication skills. Great Beach! Issues with room took a long time to fix. Reservation system they need to have one, waiting in line for up to 2 hours for an a la carte is not enjoyable.

Catalonia Bavaro Resort: amazing resort!

This was our second time at this fantastic resort, if you enjoy a resort that is a little smaller! We have recommended this resort to many friends and family! Which some have gone and enjoyed it very much as well! From the food, rooms, service it was great, beach were amazingly beautiful!

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Awesome get-away

Amazing atmosphere, beautiful staff, amazing food selection. We are first time travelers and my husband and I were completely blown away by the entertainment provided every night. Also fun entertainment throughout the day. You didn't even have to be involved because it was just as much fun watching, many laughs. Many pools to pick from, or just a walk on the beach was beautiful. We have already decided that this would be our next vacation location because we still can't stop talking about it. The Reserve at Paradisus Punta Cana: had a great time

Facilities were outstanding - We had a suite. Huge pool, Restaurants open and airy. Food was great - Lots of variety. Antony at Vento restaurant made our evening. Staff was friendly. Shout out to Raymond and Naomi the social conveners. Best beach front in the area.

Vista Sol Punta Cana: VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

Most of the Staff there did NOT speak English, and only smiled or said HI after I did. The food wasnt that good, and the pools closed at 6 pm. The Security Staff were supposed to keep vendors away from us, but they were too lazy to do so. The General Manager is unprofessional and a liar. The music at the resort is instrumental, on a one hour loop, and is painful to listen to. The customer service is poor, and was our room amenities. However, our view from the room was awesome.

Blau Natura Park Resort: Good resort for the price!

This is a decent resort for the price. The food, including the buffet, is actually pretty good...and the steak house was fabulous. The drinks weren't watered down and the main bar at the front is a great place to relax and have drinks or coffee with friends. The pool is ok, however its not very big and the swim-up bar is kind of cave like, so we didn't like that very much. The beach was great. And there are plenty of loungers on the beach. Unfortunately, there are A LOT of vendors on the beach. Some work through the resort and some work independently. Our friends purchased a horseback riding excursion from one of them, and had a great time. The rooms are decent and clean, with the fridge restocked daily. We of course tip the maid daily, with cash or items we brought from the dollar store. One bad thing is you get just one key....not even a key card...but a key...and it has the room number on it! Be sure to wear bug spray because although you can't see or feel them, you are getting a lot of bites....in fact my legs were covered with blistering bites. Out of our group of 4, I was the one to get really sick when we got home....to the hospital twice and in bed for a week. Doctors suggest it was something I ate. There is no way to know if it was from the resort or from the food we had on one of the excursions we took. There is a pretty decent market about a 15-20 minute walk from the resort. We felt pretty safe walking there.

Occidental Punta Cana: Good friends made here!

I wish I could give the resort 2 1/2 stars... The guests make this resort a place that you want to be. Everyone is super friendly and it seems like many of them return year after year. The hotel staff were not very friendly or accommodating, especially at the front desk. We had to beg and chase the cleaning staff for clean towels and toiletries. Also, the Transat Representative was not willing to help you or answer questions, unless you were buying an excursion from him. The drinks were decent [... read more] and overall the food was very good. The pizza at the snack bar is great. We wished there was more than 1 bar open at night and not up a giant flight of stairs. Overall the resort is dated but nice, the grounds are clean and the beach is beautiful.
