The bedding in the room was terrible. Sheets do not fit nor are they pressed. Most things in the resort require painting and general maintenance. Doors to room and bathroom need adjusting. Food is typical Cuban ( but that is to be expected ) Price of all inclusive was to much

Club Kawama: Krazy Kawame

Kawama is a fun spot for the budget conscious while still giving you a stunning beach, comfortable bed, attentive staff and a delicious cappuccino. The shows are pretty lack-lustre but there’s always a cold bevvy at the bar and some form of excitement with the friendly colourful folk. Kawama’s location is perfect as it’s off the strip but close to town to explore the many night spots, restaurants and markets Varadero has to offer. Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Simply the best

This hotel is fantastic. I've been to multiple hotels throughout Cuba but this is the first one I've been to more then once. The beach is incredible, the pool and grounds are always clean. But what sets this hotel apart from every other one is the staff. They are simply the very best group of people and I'm proud to call them my friends. Most of them recongnized me from my first trip in February 2019 (7days), & the majority even surprisingly remembered my name. Yoandry, Yoseet & Luis at the new beach bar are the absolute very best of the best & make the best drinks on the resort and best lunch BBQ, they will even serve you right on the beach. Juan Carlos, Yasin, Ernesto are always wonderful when you are at the lobby bar. Osbiel & Alfredo will always keep you well stocked by the pool. Marlon & Gennry are wonderful at the snack bar & will keep you fed & unthirsty 24hrs a day even at 4am with a warm smile on their faces. Victor in client relations is absolutely amazing and is always concerned & willing to help whenever he can to make sure everything is going well with your stay. And last but not least the entertainment team is incredible. Yoanny, Filipe, Nayibi, Alex, Darbel, Daniel, Ernesto & Mikael. They will have you entertained the entire week either Tai Chi, volleyball or dance lessons on the beach. WaterPolo, aqua aerobics, dance lessons by the pool and just dj and dancing after the evening entertainment show. Mikeals mad violin skills are a definite not to be missed. The only thing I have to complain about is the airport is too far away from the resort and that February is too far away for my 3rd trip back to this resort this year.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: One of my favorite resorts in Cayo Coco

This is my second time going to Memories Caribe Beach Resort. The beach and the pool are second to none. Foremost, the staff at the resort is professional, polite, respectful, and considerate. Management is always on hand if you require assistance or need to resolve any issues. The Asian, Mediterranean and the Cuban restaurants are classy and serves very good food. Entertainment during the day and evening is packed to the fullest. You need not be bored at this resort. In all of Cayo Coco resorts [... read more], Memories Caribe is one of my favorites. Note: it didn't seem that the upgrades between the Diamond Club and being a regular guess were that noticeable. The best bang for your buck is go as a regular guest.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: for those who want to relax

very clean, comfortable beds, good air conditioning, rooms a bit outdated but spacious and adequate. one of the best beaches in varadero, A variety of excellent a la carte restaurants. Good selection at buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner. Relatively small resort which was nice as everything was in close proximity. Staff very attentive and efficient. a nice retreat for those who just want to lay back and relax.

Playa Costa Verde: Costa Verde Resort, Holguin

Food like most Cuban resorts was mediocre. The best food was the food that was cooked in front of you while you waited. The accommodation, entertainment, and al la carte restaurants were all very good. Lunchtime at the pool side restaurant.was not all that great. Much of the food was burnt to a sizzle. At lunchtime I would have preferred to help myself rather than order from a menu. The beach was fine except I left my water shoes behind and kept on stepping on sharp bits of coral. Since the dur [... read more]ation of my stay was for 10 days I managed to get to the Al la carte restaurants four times, The food at the Japanese restaurant was excellent.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Lovely stay at Bella Vista

I enjoyed this hotel very much. The service was very good. The room was clean and large. The grounds and each restaurant was well kept. The lobby was the best place to sit and relax. The logistics of this hotel made it easy to move around. I like that the pool was close to the beach. The beach is beautiful especially for swimming. The food was okay but understandably its Cuba and no fault of the staff.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Great Resort

Beautiful resort, property well maintained. Nice beach. Rooms were very clean and spacious. This is a family resort, no pool area without kids. Activities Team very friendly and entertaining. Food is typical Cuban food, dont expect gourmet. Fresh fish and meats grilled were very good. Would return to this resort .

Starfish Jibacoa: Coral reef is the main bonus

I have been to this resort four times over the last 6 years. Number one reason I go back is the coral reef. Very beautiful real coral reef that you can snorkel all day. Swimming pool is right by the beach, which is very convenient. Service is ok. Food is all right for a week. Facilities are clean but old and sometimes just smell and moist. The biggest issue is there are bed bugs and fleas. All tourist were bitten, especially on the legs. All four times I was there I noticed everyones legs we [... read more]re bitten. The only time I was not, was when I brought a spray from Food Basics and sprayed thoroughly the entire bungalow. Raid spray did Not work and I was bitten by the fleas the last time. I did catch one flea to prove.... Lol Bring a good spray. Maybe even two and have a nice vacation. Otherwise you will pay dear prize by scratching and itching afterwards. Also mind where you walk in the water. There are rock fish that are poisonous knee deep by the beach. That's expected due to the reef life.

Occidental Arenas Blancas: Not the best but not the worst

The resort itself was in a good location and the beach is always so beautiful in Cuba. The rooms were okay, the bathroom in particular could of used a little ‘facelift’ but we didn’t spend much time in our room anyways. We were a little disappointed with the food. I’ve been to Cuba a few times before so I know what the food is typically like. we also had access to the resort next door and it was just odd that the food over there was x10 better than at the occidental. I just didn’t unde [... read more]rstand why they couldn’t have just as good of a spread? So my family ended up walking over to the Barcelo Solymar for all our meals. The pool also could of used some work as more than a few tiles were missing off the bottom. I also didn’t like the fact that there was no bar right on the beach, walking back and forth for drinks got kind of annoying. Overall the resort was decent.

Palma Real: Great place!

This hotel has a great location, downtown, great beach and is clean. Great place for a great Price! Food is ok, we liked to walk and also eat at different.places downtown, great clubs to.listen and dance!!!

Club Amigo Ancon: Basic but a great location on a beautiful beach

This resort is all about location. It's an older and very basic hotel that doesn't pretend to be what it isn't, but the staff is very friendly and the room I had (superior room in the three story bungalows) was just perfect with an AMAZING view. Ancon beach is really beautiful with amazing sunsets, so you don't need a fancy hotel to appreciate the beach. The location close to Trinidad and to the mountains (and Topes de Colante park) is by far one of the main reason I was coming here. 15  [... read more]minutes to Trinidad by taxi for 4 or 5 Cucs per person. My favorite city in Cuba One warning to everyone: They do not tell you this, but the blue beach towels in your rooms MUST NOT be lost otherwise you will have to pay 15 or 20 Cucs. Unlike other hotels where they have a ticket system for the towels, here they don't ...but they still apply the rule. I lost mine and was forced to pay 15 Cuc. As for the food, well it is very basic. Don't have high expectations, but you won't go hungry. Enjoy the best sunsets you might ever see.

Brisas Covarrubias: Average hotal

Average food, too far from hustle and bustle, lot of tiny mosquitoes bite all your body everywhere in beach area and open area in hotal. Staff is good, rooms are good and spacious , cleaning staff is good

Melia Marina Varadero: Mixed feelings about this resort

The resort is located at the eastern part of the peninsula. The beaches are the best I've ever been on. The area is beautiful with the marina right next to the resort. While the resort looks great at first glance, there are some maintenance issues. For example, door locks at washrooms at the restaurant by the beach were broken. Not all the faucets were working. Patio door lock had to be fixed. Pool water was cold. Even the hot tub had cold water. There were some staff members (waitstaff, b [... read more]artenders, entertainers bell boys) who were amazing and friendly. However, there were others who just didn't seem to care. The bar staff at the pool and beach were great. But the bar service at the lobby was not. The staff there did not seem to want to serve customers who are not white. Lastly, the food was the worst I've had from an all inclusive resort - I've been travelling almost every year since 1998. The food was tasteless and cold, both at the buffet and the ala Carte restaurants. The food was the biggest disappointment. There was an awful stench in the enclosed area where waitstaff emptied plates of uneaten food at the buffet area. We luckily had perfect weather, and that with the beautiful beaches made the vacation worth while.

Everything on the resort was rundown there was no water slide as stated on website or pool bar the food was bad ate out all the time there was no fruit there should be a refund for I’ve been to Cuba many times and never seen so many unhappy guests

Occidental Arenas Blancas: Terrible

Our stay with occidental arenas Blancas was terrible our rooms didn’t look anything like pictured, nor did the resort. Our room was filled with ants, they were in our baby food and they were all over our beds and crawled all over and bit our babies and us while we slept. We will never stay there again and we’re so disappointed we spent all that money and had a horrible stay. Very poor selection of food as well

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Best Resort in Santa Maria

The Playa Caya Santa Maria is an outstanding resort in Santa Maria. We have stayed at several throughout Cuba and this one is Absolutely the BEST. The resort is self is stunningly Beautiful the grounds are Pristine and very well maintained. The Staff are the most courteous. The foods are also very good. The Beach there is Gorgeous. Absolutely Love everything about The Playa Caya Santa Maria

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Fantastic Resort - Will be back!

Rooms were exceptionally clean, the grounds were beautifully manicured, the public washrooms were fully functional and very clean. The beach was very clean and lots of shade areas if you needed it. The staff were very attentive and always eager to please. Even though there is no night entertainment (theatre) they did provide great house bands in the lobby bar every night as well as a fashion show and an aquatic show in the pool area. Will definitely return.

Melia Las Dunas: Fabulous resort

The resort is overall fabulous. The staff is second to know. The lobby bar staff although busy, always aim to please! The buffet staff are exceptional! Once they meet you, the greet you every time you walk in the door with a wonderful smile and fabulous service. The food this time was not as expected, but there was still a variety overall. The beach is spectacular. This resort was recommended by a co-worker. We will definitely be back to this resort!
