Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Wonderful stay!

April 10-17 - The resort was immaculate and the staff were very friendly and hard working. The food in the buffet and a la carte's was very good, lots of variety. It was nice to be able to visit the other resorts and was easy to do with the transportation provided. The Saturday night beach party (or should I say foam party) was a blast - lots to do on the beach if you are interested and no problem getting a chair. Grand Palladium Riviera Resort And Spa: Great Family Resort

The hotel was clean and well staffed, and is a great resort for families. I was pleased with the food options and enjoyed the buffet as well as A La Carte. There were always food options for my 2 year old daughter. We stayed in a suite which worked out perfectly for my daughter's naps and bedtime. We had a suite on the 1st floor which came in handy as my me or my husband could hop over the balcony if one of us wanted to leave the room when she was sleeping without disturbing her.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Great Resort

Amazing Service, Food, Pools. Beachfront needed some work. A La Carte services were awesome and the service was extremely professional. Seemed like they did a good job of putting the spring break crew in a separate location from the older crowd which was nice.

Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: Great experience

I travel a lot and was not looking forward to going to Mexico very much. The food was good and there was tons to do within walking distance of the resort. The pools were very nice and clean. I was very pleased with the over all experience.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great resort

Staff is incredible very accommodating, we had 2 room issues one the AC was leaking 2 te toilet wouldn't flush guys there in 10 minutes to fix it both times, there is a big buffet all your usual buffet foods, when the trays empty wait 2 minutes and they have new stuff very efficient staff, the place is kept up always staff working on it its very clean. This resort was very well maintained. The grounds were neatly manicured daily. the pools were clean. Our room was beautiful , clean and mini bar well stocked. the food at buffet & snack bar was fresh & tasty. Only complaint would be no ice machines, we had to use concierge service.

El Dorado Maroma: Good to Excellent resort

Good place to stay, no kids, very clean, food is very good, good beach, lots of activities in the area, staff are all friendly, only negative thing was if you arrive via a red eye flight you will have to wait until 2-3pm before they will have your room ready.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Fantastic resort!

Everything was just wonderful! The staff were all so friendly, polite, and knowledgeable. The restaurants were clean and the food was super and we tried all of the different ones. There were so many things to do if you wanted to that I didn't even open the book I took with me.

The resort was way more than expected it was clean and well maintained. The staff were the greatest. All amenities absolutely amazing. Would recommend to anyone going there. My husband was totally amazed at how beautiful it was

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Great trip, but....

I must say I read reviews before I travel and am always amazed at the negativity in some reviews. You know the ones, people taking pictures of rusty pipes under the sink in their room. Seriously. Having said that I don’t want to seem negative about the Luxury Sian Kaan. Honestly it was great but there are a few things you should know before purchasing this property. Food, accommodation, service and premium liquor at this resort is seriously second to none. Zero complaints. Access to all the re [... read more]staurants and booking everything on check in was excellent. Had some trouble with getting 730-8 pm reservations on some days but the resort was busy so understood. We were concerned about having to take a shuttle to the beach and the size of the resort. Didn’t need to worry. Shuttles were never a problem. We never waited more than 5 mins for a shuttle to go anywhere. They obviously became busier at dinner time as people were making their way to various restaurants amongst the 4 properties you have available to you. Lastly my caution. My wife and I are beach people. This is a very high priority for us. This is where we had some disappointment. The beach sand wasn’t the greatest and walks on the beach were difficult at points as you would hit coral sections etc. Also the swimming in the ocean was very disappointing as we weren’t able to go out beyond the breakwalls they created (and you wouldn’t want to because it is rough) but within the break walls it was barely waste deep. Again, pools were awesome so you could get wet, but I love swimming and floating around in the ocean and this really wasn’t viable. So, would I recommend it? If the beach and ocean swimming isn’t critical to you, absolutely book. If it is, I would recommend you hit another area of the Mayan beach. We previously stayed at the RIU closer to Playa del Carmen and that part of the beach was fantastic. We assumed the whole coast line was similar. What is it they say, never assume.

The resort was awesome and food was good need more of variety between lunch and dinner. Service was good. The only complain is the resort couldn't accommodate our large group for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We were always separate in different tables they wouldn't put the tables together. Then one night they had a fire show in the pool which couldn't accommodate all the guest from the resort. They had tables beside the pool but you need to purchase wine which was $40 a bottle to sit I those tabl [... read more]es. The shows/entermaintment could be improve.

Pool and bars excellent service very good entertainment poor. Food could have larger variety ran out of seating at one of the dinners our group were scattered all over the place employees did not make an effort to keep the group together

Bel Air Collection Xpu-Ha Riviera Maya: Bad Start...But Did Get Better!

Read many mixed reviews before choosing, so my expectations were not too high, just needed a quiet place for my husband and I to unwind and relax. Bel Air was perfect for this as it was not too busy. Clean, comfortable room, lovely pool and good food. However, there was only a buffet on Friday and Saturday evening (when they get a bit busier) and not through the week, which is in contradiction to them advertising a buffet. Food was good. Dreams Sapphire Resort and Spa: BEST TIME EVER!!

The Now Sapphire Riviera Cancun was amazing! I got Married on April 12th and I couldn't have been a more happier Bride! The resort was stunning with great restaurants and the rooms were so pretty. Grounds were always kept clean and tidy as well as the rooms. The 24h room service is so amazing! Everyone in my huge group had nothing bad to say! I will defiantly be going back! Thanks to all the staff, you guys are Great!!!

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Very nice resort

Went to a wedding and it was amazing. The hotel staff are nice and the maids are very good and helpfull. Beaches are nice but there is some rockey parts and the pool with the swim up bar has some fun activities.

Hyatt Vivid Playa Del Carmen: Very good - 4.5*

Transfer longer than expected - arrived at airport at 945am, finally got to hotel at 130pm. Check in - quick and easy. One of the two rooms we booked wa ready. The other couple had to wait. Cool cloth and drink. Very nice. Room - beautiful. Large and kept very clean. Our rooms were fight next to each other as we requested. King beds as we requested. We had 811 and 812. Quiet rooms near quiet pool and coffee house. Amenities okay. Shampoo and body wash kinda cheap. But they have bug spray and h [... read more]and sanitizer. Kinda nice. Blow dryer not too bad. Mini bar stocked daily. We had turn down service only a few nights we were here. I think they come early (5pm ish) when we were getting ready for supper and had the do not disturb sign hung. That or they don't do it every night as we were out of the room each night from about 6 to at least 10. Didn't use room service. Bed hard and a little creaky but okay. Bathroom spacious with two sinks. Water in shower changed temperature on its own. Not a deal breaker. Grounds. Beautiful. Beach - This surprised me. I was expecting a more beautiful beach. The beach is very narrow and the hotel chairs are lined up so thick and tight that we were literally sitting infront of passerbys. Very rocky directly in front of hotel. Better to left of hotel. Walking along the beach was okay. A few times in each direction we had to maneuver around and over things. The port for the water shuttle to/ from Cozumel for cruise passengers is just to the right on the beach. Usightly and horns are noisy but not too big a deal. More shade coverage available here but be prepared to wake up early to reserve a talapa. Service on the beach is excellent. We tipped $1 each time we were brought a drink. Food - very good. Spice - very good for buffet; we tipped $2 here for breakfast and lunch El Mediterranean - very good Rincon Mexican - just okay Asiano - very good Roast coffee house - very good (actually all coffee across resort is excellent) Maria Marie - excellent food and service (by Marco) Pescatore (at across resort). Just okay. Server was missing a personality and his English was quite limited. My husband said the lasagna was excellent, though. We tipped $5 to $10 for dinner, $5 if service was good, $10 if it was exceptional (like Marco in Maria Marie) Dress code in Maria Marie mentioned no shorts and no sandals but we saw people in both shorts and sandals. Drinks - a bit watered down but tasty. I asked for grey goose and lemonade a few times and it was 99% lemonade. The other drinks i had were mostly mix too. That's to be expected though. I saw many many people enjoying themselves (drunk) so obviously if you drink enough, there is enough alcohol to eventually feel it. House wine (the only wine included) was mediocre at best. Nothing we would consider drinking at home. No reservations needed except at Pescatore and Maria Marie. Chefs Plate is extra $80 unless you have a suite so we skipped it. Lobster dinner they sometimes push is also extra $40. We skipped that too. Skipped Spa - too expensive Skipped gym - preferred to run and walk along beach Service - Very good. Time share - managed to avoid this discussion completely. 5th avenue - very nice to explore. Walked along here every night and did some people watching, window shopping and some souvenirs shopping. Excursions - Cozumel for day on our own. Paid $300 pesos pp for return trip with ultramar at port. Also rent jeep with Rent Adora (Sergio - charming and friendly) before we boarded the ferry. Rental jeep $67 USD all in. The jeep was pathetic. Not even worth $100 and the hard sell on the Cozumel side to buy more insurance was wrong. I would not recommend this company becasue of the jeep state and the employees at the Cozumel office. Cozumel - just okay. More of the same souvenir shopping. Some nice beaches and interesting places to shop along the south coast. Nothing to write home about. I would skip it to be honest. Lobby bar and entertainment - a nice place to sit at the end of the day and have a drink enjoy the entertainment. Not too busy. Pool - busy and loud. No seats available by 7am. No shade at all. Why this resort doesn't spend the money and buy 30 quality umbrellas is Unfathable. Quiet pool - nice but no breeze at all during day. Chairs all taken very early too. Those bartenders very friendly and entertaining for a drink late afternoon.

Catalonia Yucatan: Great Girls Week

Fantastic food, service, amenities. Juice bar was a nice surprise! Felt safe walking outside the resort in the gated community. All excursions booked through Airtransat rep Anna were terrific - her service was exceptional.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Great Resort

If you are looking for a relaxing vacation with a beautiful beach, this is the resort. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. The food and service was very good. I loved the live music / DJ every night down at the pool bar area. We had an amazing time.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Nice resort

Nice resort, I have stayed in nicer. Food was great, pool was great. If you are a beach person this is not the resort for you. Lots of beach erosion and sand bags. Entertainment staff were great especially PEPE. Rooms were ok, my AC didn't work but I also didn't call to have it fixed, it was too late when I realized it wasn't working. All in all we had a great vacation.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Enjoyable stay

The hotel is very nice and is part of a larger 4 resort complex. Very easy to access trolleys to get anywhere you want. We were left somewhat disappointed by the a la cartes. The buffet has a great selection. We upgraded to the Royal Golden but do not think it was worth it. The rooms were large however had a musty smell (we were on the ground floor). Was a great vacation but prefer smaller resorts.
