Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Good times!
This is our 4th visit to Iberostar Laguana Azul and hopefully not the last. Love the proximity of everything. Beach is beautiful. All staff are lovely and helpful. Hotel could use some renos and hand sanitizer!
Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Good resort
Grounds were nice, beach really good. Al la carts very good. Buffet got old. Didn't feel very welcoming on staff or customer service, lacking on that department. Did get a little better as the week went on though.
Valentin Perla Blanca: Another great experience!
This is my second time at the Valentin Perla Blanca and it was great once again. The staff were friendly and accommodating. They make you feel like you're part of the family. Treat them right and they will treat you like royalty. The food was above average for Cuba. Occasionally they would run out of buns or pizza at the snack bar but you still had lots of other choices. The a la carte restaurants were awesome. The beach... well you can't beat the Cuban coast. Valentin was one of the [... read more]
Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Great resort, room for improvement
Pros: Great resort, great playground area for kids, decent food selection, clean and modern rooms, good entertainment for adults and kids, layout of pools with beach background was very appealing Cons: Buffet chairs have cushions that stain easily and have big dirty spots on them (not appealing), beach is a bit of a walk off the resort (appears as though it's right behind the main pools but actually have to walk somewhere off to the side to get to beach), other resorts in cayo coco had larg [... read more]
Playa Caleta: Best 4****
Best 4 star around. Rooms are clean, quiet enough to sleep in. Food is good, you will find something to eat as long as your not late to your meal times. The servers are on point whe getting your drinks and clearing tables. The bar tenders are always ready to make your drinks. The security and lifeguards on the beach and resort are there to help and keep an eye on you for your safety and belongings. The entire resort is kept clean and tidy for your enjoyment so please be courteous and clean [... read more]
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Excellent Resort with amazing staff.
This was our second trip to this beautiful resort this year. We first visited in April 2019 and returned in Nov 2019 with 4 other couples to celebrate 4, 60th Birthdays. Food accomodations and service were excellent. The resort staff went to great lengths to ensure that we had a wonderful 60,th birthday party dinner, which was greatly appreciated by all. Our group was impressed with the kindness, laughter and fun the resort staff provided. We were amazed at how many staff remembered us from ou [... read more]
Melia Marina Varadero: Good Resort
Resort is good and what you’d expect from Cuba. The staff is excellent for the most part. Recommend the Level as the restaurant included blows the buffet away. Food has gone way downhill since we were there in 2014. Beach is one of the best in the world. All in all would return.
Palma Real: Bang for the buck!
The staff is outstanding. If you treat them well, they'll treat you well. The food is sub par, but you're so close to downtown, just go out and get some chicken at Calle 62, or La Gretta etc. It's all about location location location for this place. Alot of Russians are rude and lack class with the staff.
Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Don't waste your money.
The outside is kept neat and tidy, however the rooms are very bad. We had to argue to get moved to a room that had functioning air conditioning and then it didn’t function that well. The beds are made in the rooms but that is all. There is dirt on the walls, doors, trim, and balcony railings and chairs that never get wiped down. I contracted a planters wart from the shower, therefore it was not being disinfected properly. We ran out of toilet paper twice. The cleaning staff didn’t refill [... read more]
Melia Las Antillas: good Resort
everything was good but hotel is old and bathrooms are full of mold this was not a great experience asking for changing our room otherwise everything was great especially Beach service people friendly great entertainment at night
Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Good Resort
The Resort was a nice, well laid out and the staff were friendly. The food could have been better. Would have been nice to have some potatoes. Room was clean and the cleaning staff were exceptional. The entertainment was excellent some of the best dancers I have seen on vacation. The Bus ride was a little long however it was a nice relaxing scenic ride. The pool waiters and waitresses made their rounds often and it was nice to have that service.
Hotel Playa Coco: Hotel Playa Coco
This was our 9th time to this resort. we love it there!! The beach is beautiful, you can walk for miles if you want to or sit on you butt. The food is good, we have never lost weight when we go. The rooms are good. If you want to find things wrong you will. Go with an open mind and you will have a great time. Treat people the way you want to be treated!!
Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Excellent Resort
The rooms are very nice, the grounds and beach are truly beautiful. Stunning aqua blue water. People are very helpful, friendly and nice and the butler service is great. It was nice to have access to the other resorts as well.
Playa Costa Verde: On the Fence....
Although a nice looking resort, with a beautiful beach and pool area, it did leave a bit to be desired. Upon check-in, our group of 11 found the front desk staff to be most unhelpful. Two people per room and only one card handed out. When everyone asked for a second card, they were rudely told no. When one friend said they needed the second one, they were told to maybe come back tomorrow, and that they could pay for one. I was quite taken aback, as in all my travels, I have always contended that [... read more]
Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Started off rocky
Just returned from Sanctuary Grand Memories. The flight over and the bus connection to the resort ran smoothly. Once at the resort, about 3pm,we were taken to the Sanctuary lobby for check in and brought to our room in building #57. Room was not ready so we went to the beach area looking for snacks and had the last 2 hamburgers at the snack bar. No other food was available. Returned to the room to find everyone gone. Room is tired, no toilet paper, loose toilet seat, shower faucet came apart tha [... read more]
Hotel Rancho Luna: What can I say?
You get what you pay for but then on the plane, we met people who paid the same but ended in a 4-star resort, ours was 2.5 at best. The buffet and the bars were missing basic basic basic stuff...like the toaster and the grill broke down, the coffee was served in plastic cups, the meat was coloured, no jam, butter was rare and the orange juice was sweet water, worse than Tang...the fish had a smell... The Cubans were drinking and eating in the pool. They were putting out their cigarettes and di [... read more]
Hotel Camino del Mar: DON"T GO !!!
The grounds were nice and the staff were great. The place was run down and the sheets were stained. Almost had to beg for coffee pods for the room. The resort was only one third full and it ran out of baileys and whiskey for two days. We have traveled a fare amount and this was the worst food we ate, we lost weight when we came home. Sand flee bites us all week. The only thing that was great was the beach. Seagull shit on the back of the lounge chairs around the pool, told the manager so they cl [... read more]
Starfish Jibacoa: Clean, friendly and quiet resort
The hotel is kept very clean by the staff. The mattresses could use updating. My room needed to be fumigated for sand fleas, probably because the previous guest let the cats/dogs from the resort in the room. Nothing like waking up to bites all over! The food in the buffet was ok, a lot of fish and liver on the grill. The a la cart made me unwell and the food at the a la cart seemed to be prepared days in advance. The mixed salads in the buffet were not very appetizing Overall, the staff w [... read more]
Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Amazinggg
The resort was beautiful. The food also was delicious. Clean pool and beach 10/10. Service was excellent. Lobby lounge was fun to spend the night there having a drink. And listing to the music I would give them 5 stars
Valentin Perla Blanca: Rejuvenating, as well as relaxing!
This was not our first time at Valentin Perla Blanca. In fact, it had only been 7 months since. Whew, where to begin! :) We love this resort because their staff is second to none. As far as resorts go, the food is good and the variety is quite reasonable. There was a time or two when traditionally sliced bread was unavailable for that meal but there was always an alternative ie: ciabatta buns and/or cheese buns. The a' la cartes offered International, French, Italian, Seafood, and Steak. Th [... read more]
