Breezes Bahamas: Excellent beach and location ~ hotel not so much!
Stayed there for 3.5 days to attend the Junkanoo Carnival, which was amazing by the way! Staff on the resort well unfortunately they do cater more towards the locals staying there and you feel 2nd class due to this: Requests were not met as promised and repeating the request over and over again for items like a blow dryer (which is stated as in room) was not received. Food was very good for this resort, Beach AMAZING! Felt very safe in Bahamas and will be back just not to this hotel.

Breezes Bahamas: Definitely some Pros & some Cons!
Prior to booking this trip, I had read that the hotel had some recent upgrades/refurbished. The hotel itself is old and dated and needs a face lift. There were some small issues with the room (shower head did not work and the t.v. didn't work well) however the room was clean, towels were readily available and the beds were comfortable. The food at this resort was FANTASTIC! I haven't had food this good at a resort in any of my travels. So much variety, hot and tasty. Above all, the staff were so[... read more] accommodating and wonderful, truly some beautiful people that made this such a wonderful trip in the end.

Breezes Bahamas: A bit dated
The Breezes resort is very close to the airport and an average hotel at best. The price was right however and the original room we booked was dated we upgraded to a beach front, walk out room which was great. The service from the restaurants, (Ricky you are amazing!) pool area (Rashad we miss you!) and maid service was great, very friendly. Front desk staff was very slow to accommodate or get to your request (for example we had a fire alarm that went off every night all night and although we rep[... read more]eatedly asked for this to be looked at, this was never done). For the price the resort was clean and easily accessible to the airport, downtown. Would rate a 3 star.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: small but nice
This resort is the smallest I have ever stayed at but it was very clean, the food was amazing and the people really friendly. As far as our room goes, the second room we got which I paid extra money for was very nice. The first one they gave us was suppose to be two double bed suite with ocean view for three people which was a small hotel room with two single beds pushed together for three adults??? Not acceptable as my mother was travelling with my daughter and I and she has a very
bad back. Tr[... read more]avel agents should not be booking this type of room for three adults, not big enough. However when I went down to complain the manager quickly switched us to another suite at my expense. The check in also was very long, we were in line for over an hour waiting to get our room.

Memories Grand Bahama: Great Resort!!
Had a great time at Memories Grand Bahama. Loved the steakhouse, the cleanliness, friendly staff and overall safety while on vacation. My only "cons" were the beach seems cramped and I never seemed to have towels put in my room. Other than that, great vacation!

Grand Lucayan Breakers Cay: Great relaxing vacation
We really enjoyed our ocean view room. The hotel was very comfortable, the pools were great, and particularly the infinity pool. The staff was really nice, but service was on the slow side. I am not sure that we would have enjoyed it as much if it had been in higher season (as we went towards the end of April, and the resort was not full). We were a bit annoyed by the signatures and the pink slips after every meal, but in the end we did not have any bad surprise of wrong charges. We did not try [... read more]the restaurants that required reservations, but we enjoyed the ones we did try. We would go back in a heart beat. The real only down side was check-in: arrival in the hotel lobby at 10 AM, waiting in line for 2 hours to get a lunch ticket as the room was not ready, and waiting in line again from 3 to 4 p.m. to finally get the keys to our room. It would be great if the flight time could match the hotel check-in hours.

Memories Grand Bahama: Great memories!!
This was our 1st time to the Bahamas, overall it was a great week.. Hotel was short on towels everyday but all you had to do was ask and you received... The food was excellent, even better then any place we have stayed in Mexico. There was lots to do, Casino, marketplace, Pro club was fun.... I would have stayed longer if I could have... Also every trip we have taken has been booked through Trip Central and the service has been the best!!!!

Sandals Emerald Bay: A nice Resort but could use some improvements
We recently returned from a 2 week vacation at Sandals Emerald Bay, Great Exuma. A nice vacation, there were many excellent things about the resort but also there are some things that could definitely be improved upon. We have rated this resort a 4, but really would have given it a 3.5 if possible. This is our 6th trip to Sandals (all different We recently returned from a 2 week vacation at Sandals Emerald Bay, Great Exuma. A nice vacation, there were many excellent things about the resort but a[... read more]lso there are some things that could definitely be improved upon. We have rated this resort a 4, but really would have given it a 3.5 if possible. This is our 6th trip to Sandals (all different resorts) and this one is just average, definitely not at the top of the list.
First the good things:
Arrival – the airport is very small, which is great – you are out of the airport within 20 minutes of landing where you are met just outside the doors by Sandals staff, and then taken by taxi to the resort – only about a 10 minute drive.
The beach – it is fabulous, probably the nicest beach we have seen – with great sand and beautiful turquoise water. Also we saw some “angel fish†right near shore, and if you were near them, they would follow you along in the water – really cool.
The golf course is very nice – the views from the back nine, right along the ocean are amazing – we played in the Thursday afternoon golf scramble and had lots of fun, but even if you don’t play at all, make sure you walk the back nine.
Sunrise – do not miss the sunrise – what a sight, the sun comes up right over the water.
Excursions – we did the Ocean Safari (swimming with the pigs) tour, it was one of the best excursions we have ever done – Justin and his crew of 1 were great, very knowledgeable and his boat was very nice. The swimming with the pigs was fun as well as seeing and feeding the iguanas on another island. He also took us to a few other small islands to show us different things and let us roam the beautiful little beaches on each of them.
The reading road trip is always a highlight for us, where you can go to one of the schools and help out the children for an hour. This time the trip was to a primary school where we read to the grade primary to 3s and then they read to us. This trip is not really well known by the guests but definitely an enriching experience. Take school supplies with you if possible, you can find a list of items needed at “Pack for a Purpose†on the internet.
Entertainment – we really enjoyed the nightly entertainment – the sax player is amazing, the Junkanoo party is lots of fun. Heston made the piano bar a great way for us to end the evenings – he is not only a good piano player but an amazing entertainer – with the right crowd the piano bar is lots of fun. The entertainment crew is great too, with many different games organized for people who want to participate in them. Leslie and Kristell were especially good on the entertainment crew.
Massage – we had a couples massage and it was definitely worth it – very professional and well done.
The grounds are well kept and nice, but not spectacular.
Now for things that could be improved:
Restaurants – We had looked at the restaurants menus before we left and decided to eat at Bahama bay the first night. However when we went into this restaurant the first night (Sunday) we discovered that it was buffet that night and in asking found out that it was buffet every Sunday night. We next decided to go there on Thurs evening and again found a buffet evening meal (which was not very good), in asking the staff about it they seemed surprised that it was a buffet as well. With reservations at other restaurants as well as the Junkanoo party and returning guest dinner, we didn’t get back to Bahama Bay in the evening until the following Thurs – to find another evening buffet even though their a la carte menu was displayed in the case outside the front door. We left this time to go to Barefoot where we had a nice meal. We checked over the restaurant schedules and found that no where did it say there were buffets in the evening at Bahama Bay. We do not go to Sandals for evening buffet meals and believe that a resort with the high reputation of Sandals should not have any evening buffets – but if they do make sure it is well “advertisedâ€.
The other meals were good to very good on the whole – we had very good meals at the French and Italian restaurants as well as Barefoot, but also had just average meals at them as well. Overall food was not as good as the other Sandals we had been to.
Housekeeping – some days good and others not so good when we were there – our room needed a better cleaning from the last guests staying in the room, as there was an empty coffee cup and garbage under the bureau and bed. We had to call 4 different times to get towels, soap, or something. Each time they were promptly delivered, but really we should not be out of bath towels, washcloths, or soap and have to call for more – especially since housekeeping had been in for the day.
Allergies -- some of the staff at the restaurants were very good about allergies (kiwi for us), and others didn’t seem to understand the seriousness of an anaphylactic allergy. We have since heard to make sure that you talk to Dwayne if you have allergies – unfortunately we didn’t know that when we arrived.
Staff – The staff were friendly and we met some outstanding staff members at this resort, but also many who seemed to be just going through the motions and definitely could use more training.
Overall we had a great vacation at a nice resort but it was not up to all of the standards of some of the other Sandals resorts we have visited. There were some standouts among the staff -- Leslie and Kristell in entertainment, Heston at the piano bar, Dia, Lashan, and Rose at the Bahama Bay restaurant, Brittany at the Barefoot restaurant, the personal trainer in the gym.
definitely could use more training.

Memories Grand Bahama: Great getaway trip with family
The hotel and the grounds we're beautiful ! The food was fabulous and the entertainers we're awesome ! The hotel staff could use some training in Customer Service to better resolve issues that came up during our stay, such as dirty rooms, improper rooms (suppose to be a king but double beds instead, etc) no hand towels, facecloths and towels for bathing, stocking the mini fridge, providing guests with prompt service when need be, etc... The beach could use more chairs and umbrellas (functionning[... read more] umbrellas not broken ones) There seemed to be a reoccuring theme of " we dont have any" in regards to water bottles, pop, towels for the room, towels for the pool, straws, clean sheets, etc..

Memories Grand Bahama: Great vacation
The room I had was really nice. The room was always done by 2pm. Getting clean towels was never an issue. The staff at the buffet and the diamond club staff at the beach were really very nice. If you can, you should go with diamond club the chairs have nice cushions and we also had a cabana that we could have a little nap after lunch. The diamond club offers drinks and a lunch menu delivered to your chair. The beach was very nice as well.

Melia Nassau Beach Resort: Fantastic All Inclusive!
As a healthy eater I always find all inclusive resorts to be something I have done and will not try again, however this particular time I must admit from the green cleanse breakfast drink to the fresh fish and greens I was in my glory. If you are a vegetarian and love to eat lush healthy greens with numerous lentils and fruit options than you will be more than impressed with the options they had available within the buffet and menu's at the various exceptional on site restaurants. I cannot say e[... read more]nough about the food at this resort, everything was always fresh greens were never yellow (a pet peeve of mine) and the drinks are very generous. The staff was a little more quiet than your typical island but I have to say it was also a nice change. This hotel and location is perfect, you have a gorgeous white sandy beach right outside your patio door with miles to walk along the ocean. There is a 10 minute cab ride into town for $15.00 USD or walk to the lobby down the front steps and catch the city bus which drops you right in the center of downtown for $2.00 USD per person. This was our fist time to Bahamas and I have to say I will definitely be coming back it was fantastic!

Memories Grand Bahama: Wonderful Holiday
The food and people are what makes the resort! Had a memorable trip. All good except that they need to invest in more sun shades, and the entertainment is not up to par with other resorts. Otherwise we had a great trip with lots of time spent at the beach.
