Unfortunately, because our flight got delayed we ended up arriving at the Resort at around 1:00 in the morning so we couldn't really see how good the Resort was until morning. We just wanted to take a quick shower and go to bed. As one of my son's were taking a shower I noticed that the bed sheets were not clean and then my son said that water in the shower was boiling hot and there was no cold water. At this point I called someone at the reception tell them about the sheets and the problem with[... read more] hot water. They sent someone to change the bedsheets and to see about the hot water in the shower. They weren't able to fix the water problem in the room so they said to go back to the reception in the morning to see if they can change our room. The next morning we went to change our room ,but we had to wait until 5:00pm to switch rooms. Finally, we went to our new room, we made sure that the shower was working properly and that everything was ok including the pull out couch since my other son was going to use it. As my son pulled out the pull out couch there was a dead big insect on the mattress. I couldn't believe it and even my son. We took a picture of the insect and went back to the reception and showed them the picture of the insect. We no apologies they gave us another room and told us to make sure the room was ok before moving our luggage there. At this point I was upset and tried. Lucky, the room was nice and clean with the swim up pool.
My son's and I wasted one whole day just changing rooms which was frustrating because it felt like we lost one vacation day to relax and have fun.
The Resort itself is beautiful ,but the housekeeping needs improvement. So many times we didn't have enough towels and there wasn't enough shampoo ,etc
The beach area was nice and the entertainment was good, but hardly any of the waiters would ask us if we wanted a drink in the stage/theater area. The buffet was ok, but half the time the table was not set properly and sometimes we had trouble finding plates for the buffet.
I hardly doubt that will come back here again.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Good resort !
The resort is quite large ! The grounds were well maintained. But the room was just ok . When we got in we had no TV remote and the safe box was not working. Got it resolved the next morning. The beach is amazing ! One big problem were chair availability. If you got to beach or pool after 8 a:m , you had no chair ! We had to be there before 7 a:m to reserve one with shade , like everyone else . Even though there are signs everywhere saying-no reserving chairs . I think there should be better man[... read more]agement with that . We noticed people reserved chairs near the beach and didn’t show up till afternoon . Not right ! No complaints with the food . Overall a good experience.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great resort
We had a great time. We have always done adult only ,but this resort was so big and the children were so well behaved. So much for the kids to do.
Urban show is a must but get there early as seats fill fast.

Bahia Principe Escape Samana: Very relaxing vacation
We had a very relaxing vacation at Samana.
Pros: *outstanding views from anywhere on the resort property
*nice rooms and great maid service
*excellent drinks
*small resort with no congestion, lots of chairs and palapas
*small beach, but perfect for swimming and lounging
*friendly staff
*restaurants are located strategically for amazing ocean views
*lots of sitting areas with amazing views of the ocean
*rela[... read more]xing pool area with nice selection of low key music, plenty of sitting areas
Cons: *a lot of stairs; elevator for room levels, but you cannot avoid stairs to the buffet, pool or beach
*staff were acommodating when qued, however a little slow to identify people's
needs ahead of time; language barrier was an issue
*variety of food was limited; buffet for dinner was very repetitive and the only
option for dinner
*no wine inclusion (only sold by the bottle)
I would say this a must go to resort in Jamacia, very well maintained, and beautiful. The rooms could use a update, but the service was spendid and the staff are really nice...would definitely return to this place.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Great trip!
We had a wonderful time at this resort. The staff were all very professional, friendly, and accomodating. It was just my husband and I on the trip and we had requested a room with a king bed, but when we arrived we were given a room with two doubles. They moved us to a new room as soon as a king bed became available, which only took a day. They were great!
The first few days on the resort were extremely windy so we weren't able to get in the water but when the wind finally died down, it was [... read more]great. We got out parasailing, which we did find much more expensive than other resorts/islands we've been to. But it was fun, and the staff running the parasailing were very nice.
I got a massage at the spa one day and I have nothing but good things to say. My massage therapist, Luisa, did a great deep tissue massage. It was a full body massage from my toes to my head. Very relaxing!
The food was one of the best parts of our vacation. The a la carte restaurants were really great. It's worth noting that you must make your reservations 10 days before your trip at the time you check-in. We knew this in advance, but we spoke to some people who were unaware of this and weren't able to get reservations. So make sure to take a look at restaurants and menus in advance and get your reservations booked. There are no a la carte for breakfast and lunch but the buffet was surprisingly good! Tons of options and good quality.
You have access to all Bahia resorts (Coba, Tulum, and Sian Ka'an) when you stay at Akumal. Akumal is by far the best of the 4 so we only ventured on to the others for dinners.
All in all, we had a wonderful trip and would definitely recommend this resort.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Wonderful Facility with societies challenges.
The resort itself is beautiful, well maintained with wonderful staff and great food. We spent nine days at the resort and thoroughly enjoyed the food, staff and facilities for the most part. We were always able to get a lounge chair on the beac, although not close to the beach itself. Most. Hairs near the water were “towelled very early in the morning and most remained void of occupants most of the morning. The pool, on the other hand was always “towelled” thus loungers not available at breakfas[... read more]t time and thus all day if you wanted shade. Despite both areas having signs prohibiting saving loungers, it was a daily practice. This situation was addressed to not avail. Service on the beach was fair and we were served usually once an hour. Drinks, although different at each bar, were very acceptable in quality. A-la-carte restaurants (we eat at 4of the 9) were good. The resort has used marble throughout to resort for flooring and it tends to be very slippery. Caution and good non-slip soles are recommended. This is especially so in the shower and bathroom. Mini bar was always well stocked and the room cleaned very well. We found the staff very friendly and helpful. Even our last day without a room after noon went well as we did not leave the resort till 4 pm to enjoy that very lengthy ride to the airport in Punta Cana driving past a very close international airport a few minutes away in La Romana. That inconvenience will certainly be a game changer in future vacation plans.
This was my first all-inclusive vacation and first time away in a long time so I did not know what to expect. The grounds are beautiful and the staff lovely and very helpful. The room was ok but a few disappointments: beds and pillows uncomfortable, leak in the bathroom and TV reception poor. We had to call the front desk 3 times to get a remote for the tv and our room cleaned on day 2, then housekeeping left no toilet paper on day 3. It never occurred to me to ask for a different room. The food[... read more] was ok, not great. A la carte restaurants definitely better than the buffet. And one area of the seating area of the buffet had a weird smell. The beach was glorious and swim up pool bar a nice novelty but I much preferred the ocean. I would definitely go to the Bahia Principe again but next time try the Esmeralda.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Not impressed
The grounds were lovely. The pools were nice, but way over crowded. The beach was difficult, on a hill, too many chairs. The rooms were mediocre, our view on balcony was the back of a building where staff were working and yelling at 6am, and trucks unloading supplies, very disappointed ??. The cleaning staff were good the first 2 days, then they didn’t take dirty glasses away or replace them, sometimes the blankets would be on the bed, sometimes in a heap on the chair. And came home full of bites [... read more]that blistered.Nothing like Web. Pics

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Great Resortse
Service was excellent
Food was great
Loved the room and private hot tub
Lots of hot water
Very clean
Super staff!
Only thing to get to the beach took at least 1/2 hour on the shuttle. Shuttle would do pick ups at 2 or 3 of the other locations. All four resorts shared one large beach area. Adult only had a specified area.
Just need to factor in extra time to get to the beach and most of the a la carte restaurants.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Another great vacation
This resort is our go to vacation spot, we have been back many times and keep returning because of the staff and the way they make us feel like we are the most important people at the resort. The four (4) pools are clean with lots of room for guests, and nice place to relax. The main buffet restaurant is the best with a large number of choices, there is never a line up for food, The resort also gives you access to the a la carte restaurants at both the Sian Kaan and the Grand.
We would recomme[... read more]nd this resort to anyone who wants and relaxing adult resort at a smaller venue with no line ups for food or drink.
The only downside was the ride to and from the airport (via Air Transat), this was our first bad experience but was also our first-time flying Air Transat. The trip from the Airport to the resort was a confusing mess and when they finally put us in a van it was overcrowded with no air condition, it was a terrible 1 hr. and 20 min trip...the trip back to the airport was not much better and again they over packed the van with too many people....... next time we will spend the $200 and get a private ride to and from the resort.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Caribbean Paradise
We could not ask for more at this Hotel. Rooms are clean, spacious, and recently renovated.
The landscaping is amazing, and well maintained.
The main buffet restaurant always served a variety of very good food. The a la carte restaurants are overall good but don't expect high end food quality. Stay away from the Greek restaurant. Food was barely OK, and service was not up to standards of the rest of the resort.
The Beach and pool are amazing.
The hotel was very nice. The rooms we nicely renovated, clean and big
The staff at the hotel were very nice and made sure everything was ok.
The tours booked at the hotel were excellent and the shows were entertaining a 10/10
The best thing was we had access to Baha’i Coba a quick train ride away. It was nice to have the variety in restaurants and entertainment
There were many pools to access and the beach was extremely nice and well groomed.
The grounds were beautiful and there were s[... read more]mall wild animals running around that added smiles for all.
We had no complaints while staying at this hotel.
How this hotel ever got a 4.5 Stars is beyond me.. I honestly have no idea. I have been travelling at least once a year for the last 30 years, and this is the worst hotel I've encountered. The rooms were ANCIENT, but that would be ok if they were actually clean. I wasn't willing to take a bath in that bathtub, disgusting! The resort as a whole needs to be refreshed, doors in any of the bathrooms are disgusting and dirty. Food was cold, everywhere, ALL THE TIME. Beach was sooooo packed, you can't[... read more] get a chair unless you get up at 5:30 in the morning, SARDINES on a beach!!, incredible.. Forget about any beach sports. Massive resort, no bathrooms at pools or near the beach (ONE pool, far away, close to the main lobby, had bathrooms). Bars at main pool were so packed, it gave a new meaning to the word 'all-inclusive', it's more like, do I really want/need a drink? And no servers were seen (aside from one day at the beach).. The only 2 good things about this place, is they have trains running frequently for this CITY of a resort.. And obviously the staff was all smiles and AMAZING! Definitely would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. (The only good restaurant was the Indian.)

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Too many problems
Food and staff was amazing. Beach was terrible, sloped, could not get a chair and they were lined up like a movie theatre. Pool was fine. Our room was poorly looked after, no coffee, towels etc. Room cards stopped working 3 times. Little bugs in our room. 3 out of 6 people on the trip got such bad bug bites their legs were covered in large red spots, Mosquitos maybe. Such a huge resort its far to walk anywhere but there were plenty of trolleys.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Poorly run resort
Dining wonderful
Rooms were old, smelly, horrible beds and furniture, plugs didn’t work most of the time..these rooms should be gutted
The first 2 days rooms were cleaned, that’s it! Our bare feet would be black upon bedtime. Room remained cluttered, empty dirty cups, glasses, nothing wiped down. The only thing that was done was the bed was made. Even then, the top blanket was never on the bed, just folded.
Every phone call I made for things that needed to be done or supplied, no one ever sh[... read more]owed up.
We were locked out of our room till 1 in the morning. We had to get angry with the front desk in order to get new keys. Service was terrible.
No pool service but we could tolerate that.
It took 3 hrs to book in, they didn’t have a third room for us
Loved the grounds, shuttles and the variety of foods.
Wish there was some English entertainment
Unless service, rooms
changed , I wouldn’t go back
I know there are lovely rooms available, we were very unlucky. This trip was booked 6 months before, no excuse

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: A solid budget oriented choice
We stayed at the Bahia Grand from Feb 4 to 11. We are a a couple in our late 50s and usually prefer smaller, adult resorts where we can chill out and eat and drink well. We were apprehensive about the size of the Bahia but were pleasantly surprised how much we enjoyed our stay.
Check in was quick and smooth. We were in our room on the 7th floor of building 23 with our luggage within 15 minutes of arriving.
We were registered as Grand guests but our room was located in the Luxury Adult section[... read more]. We understand it is being used for overflow of adult Grand guests due to reno's in other Grand buildings. The room was large, clean, and had a great view over the quiet adult pool and ocean beyond. However, it was a bit loud at night until around 11 with music from the Luxury section lobby immediately behind our building. The room showed a bit of wear and tear but nothing that hampered our stay. The furniture was in good repair and the king bed was comfy. We loved the large private balcony.
The property is quite large - over 1 km from end to end along the waterfront. We regularly got 12K + steps per day, despite all our poolside lounging! The grounds and public areas are very well kept.
We spent our days at the quiet adult pool near the pool bar. It was easy to get a chair around the pool as long as you're there by around 10 am. Sadly, the hotel "no reserving" policy largely ignored by guests but the chair game wasn't nearly as bad as some resorts we have visited where you'd have to snag a lounger by 7 am!
Because there was a cold front and the weather was a bit unsettled all week, we mostly stuck by the pool. We did a few beach walks to the far side of the resort but decided with the unsettled weather it was too far from shelter and facilities to set up for the day. It was a decent size beach though, with a sheltered and shallow bay. It looked nice so maybe next time!
Dining at the a al cartes was good and we chose the adult oriented restaurants for our 3 included meals.
Rodizio (Brazilian) and Takara (Asian Fusion) were great. The Don Pablo (French) was just "OK". The food was acceptable but the ambiance was lacking.
We really enjoyed the Round Island buffet near the Jamaica sign for breakfast and lunch and the Activity Poolside jerk grill for a mid day snack and the best chicken ever. Yum. The major disappointment was the main buffet family side. We had no choice but to eat 4 dinners and one breakfast there. Ugh. What a zoo. Insufferably loud, chaotic, and poor quality food with limited choices. It reminded us why we really don't like large resorts! Avoid it if you can and, if you must eat there, request an outside table to reduce the chaos.

- By and large the staff were friendly and accommodating. They really made our stay!
- Resort layout makes it easy to find an area to suit your preferences. E.g., Pool vs beach, active vs quiet.
- Overall the food was good with the exception of the main buffet as noted . We loved the Round Island buffet breakfast and lunch - this is listed on the maps as a steak house but has been renovated to a modern multi station buffet with gorgeous ocean and pool view terraces for outdoor dining. We really wished it had also opened for dinner for our 4 buffet nights where we had to brave the main buffet!
Bars everywhere with generally well made drinks and fresh Red Stripe on tap! The pool bar in the quiet section and the lobby terrace bar were our favorites.
Needs improvement:
Elevators - being on the 7th floor this was important. There was only one elevator for our area and it was slow and somewhat unreliable. We had to take the stairs a couple of times.
Reservation app for a la cartes - sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't, sometimes it lost your reservation.
And I could suggest, guests housed in the adult section like we were should also be allowed to also eat in the adult side buffet close to the room, rather than in the "zoo" buffet!
The resort was beautiful and clean; the rooms were clean and modern and even had added touches like drying racks on the balcony; the beach was beautiful with bars, grills and bathrooms easily accessible; there were tons of activities and entertainment around the pool; kids club was helpful to add more activities to the day; the food options for all of us (including vegetarians) was excellent; evening entertainment was great especially on Bob Marley night and Steel Band night - wow! Guest service[... read more]s was very helpful and housekeeping was great. Everything was restocked in our fridge each day including water, pop and beer.
Criticisms: All of the restaurants and theatre were kept way too cold that you needed a sweater; a la cart availability was very minimal; there was outdoor entertainment at the main building that went till 11 PM each night which was extremely loud and made it difficult for the kids to go to sleep as the noise and music echoed all over the resort; if you get a room on the main floor it is very busy and loud at all hours.
Criticisms: All the restaurants are
