Riu Palace Aruba: Wonderful Resort!

I would highly recommend the Riu Palace Aruba. Such a beautiful location with amazing ocean views. The ocean is warm and not too wavy to swim in - very enjoyable swimming location. The resort is well run and very accessible. Many great restaurants with great food and wonderful staff. The room we stayed in was very comfortable with the largest bed I've ever seen! The entertainment staff was amazing too - such a nice variety of daytime and evening entertainment. The daily aerobics/Zumba ses [... read more]sions in the pool were a hit with me - so fun!! All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. By the end of the week, we felt like we'd made many new friends with the servers, bar tenders and entertainment crew. All in all - a great place to vacation (either as an adult couple or a family with children). Aruba is a very safe feeling destination. It's wonderful to be able to walk out of the resort and explore the area without feeling nervous. It was also great to sit on the beach and not be bothered by peddlers. All in all - a great place to visit!

Riu Latino: Beautiful resort!

I passed a great week at the Riu Latino, hotel for adults only. This hotel is modern, very well maintained, clean, with spacious rooms, and good restaurants where you don't need to make any reservations. The service at the bars is quite rapid. The staff is very polite, and give a very good service. The pools are clean. The beach and ocean are great. The shows at night are very professional. I recommend strongly this resort!

Riu Palace Aruba: 25th Anniversary

Stayed Nov.25-Dec.2. This was our 5th time here but the last time was 5 years ago. The resort grounds are very well kept as well as the lobby and general areas. Food was ok. Never went hungry. Beach an ocean are amazing. You can’t beat it but to get beach palapa and chairs be prepared to be out there in the dark at 5:30 am. For the pool by 7am.now for the rooms. The curtains have mould on them as well. There is rust in the showers. Both of our sinks were also plugged and took forever to drain. This place is very humid so don’t leave patio doors open or everything will be soaked. Now for the entertainment team. They work hard and were excellent to watch. Servers around the pool were slow and no service to the beach so you have to walk to get drinks. Sometimes they filled our mugs and other times they would only give us 1 drink in a plastic cup refusing to use our mugs which is totally ridiculous. First off we are saving dishes by bringing our own mugs. Secondly it’s a pain to have to walk from the beach to the pool bar every time you want one. We took a cab for $14 to tres tapis to snorkel with fish and turtles. Well worth it. To be brutally honest I’m not sure I will return to this resort because of the awful state of the rooms however would definitely keep coming to Aruba. Also it was our 25th anniversary and my adult son was in our room and they gave us 3 separate beds and didn’t do any little gestures to acknowledge our anniversary. Last of all the hall was cluttered with cots and room service trays that took a long time to get cleared. This place definitely needs improvements

Riu Palace Costa Rica: Great resort!

The hotel was great, staff were amazing! If you are booking with Sunwing, their reps are amazing especially Sharley- she was very helpful. If you are debating which resort to book with from Riu palace and Riu Guanacaste, choose Riu Palace if you want room service and a chilled resort. Riu Montego Bay: Nice resort with amazing staff!

Very good value for the pricepoint. All three resorts: Riu Montego Bay (RMB), Riu Reggae (RR), and Riu Jamaica Palace (RJP) share evening activities at RMB. RMB was definitely the more ‘fun’ resort with a younger crowd. RR and RJP seemed to have more premium liquor and food options, but RMB definitely has more variety. Also RR and RJP can come to RMB and enjoy all amenities - but not vice versa. Riu Palace Tropical Bay: Amazing resort! Delicious food and WONDERFUL STAFF!

Beyond my expectations 5*****… I have never been to a resort where I would go back and RIU Palace Tropical in Negril is it! The staff are so wonderful and friendly. The entertainment staff was fantastic.. the food was delicious. The room was great, clean and large. The beach was beautiful! Can hardly wait to go back.

Riu Tequila: Some good...some bad

The Riu parties are fun, the performances were as expected, nothing special. The entertainment always got pushed later sometimes almost 11pm so there were times when we just ended up going to bed after a few minutes of the show. There were quite a few things to do throughout the day. I tried three times at three different bars to get a decent margarita, no such luck, they were all rimmed with table salt and had no flavour. The food at the buffets are good, service is decent but I didn't find  [... read more]much of the staff overly friendly. It's nice that you can get food and drinks 24 hours a day. The beach is okay, albeit crowded with little shade. The walk does not take too long and is shaded and there is a shuttle, but make sure to check the times posted as there are times during the day it doesn't run. The rooms are comfortable and the mini bar is stocked every other day, although you can request more if needed. There is serve your own alcohol (bottom shelf at best) in the room. Pool areas are clean, I stayed away from the party pool as not many people leave that pool during the day even while drinking and it can be very loud. I heard the disco can be busy but watch your drink!…I know of two people being slipped something in their drinks! It takes over an hour to get to the hotel from the airport. I would return here if I got a good deal.

Riu Montego Bay: Riu Montego Bay Resort

We count our blessings, thank you to the wonderful staff who have made our vacation at Riu Montego Bay Resort a memorable one. The sun salutation was a nice touch. As for the food, Kulinarium is highly recommended. Took at cab (see desk at hotel entrance) to Rockland Bird Sanctuary; Dwayne Finnikin was our tour operator. Thank you Dwayne for making our trip a safe one.

Riu Emerald Bay: Wasn’t overly impressed

The resort is nice, however, we had booked three rooms on the bottom floor all together. When we arrived all three rooms were scattered on three different floors. They couldn’t accommodate us with the rooms we requested until the next day and even then it wasn’t what we had booked. The adult pool bar was so cloudy and gross we skipped it and went to the other pools. Water and coffee was never replenished in our rooms (even though it says in the room pamphlet it’s stocked every two days) 4  [... read more]people out of our group got food poisoning and were laid up for two days. Couldn’t get any reservations for the restaurants. The food was average.

Riu Emerald Bay: Great family getaway

Traveled to Riu Emerald Bay on Nov 24th with wife and 2 young grandkids. Transfer and checkin were seamless and we were given a room in the new 4 storey building. The room was great but would have appreciated one that was not facing the air conditioning cooling towers as they run all day and are noisy when patio doors are open. Otherwise resort drinks and food were great, staff were helpful and beaches were awesome . And got those taking young kids the kids club was great with ball pits, dedicat [... read more]ed kids water slides and care workers . Yes we would go again .

Riu Playa Blanca: Good holiday

Had a good week. Staff in general were mainly good. Bar staff knew their stuff. Was nice to have drink of the day signs up at lobby bar etc to try something new. Buffet always had a good variety & no problem finding a table. No reservations for a la cartes. Went at 630 and got seated right away each time. Steak house & Italian were both very good. Beach isnt what we are used to. Sand not white and hot in sun. Ocean rough and dark water but we swam in it every day and waves made it fun. Room [... read more]s were clean. Staff constantly mopping & cleaning hallways & any walk ways. Less than 20 minutes from airport for Canadians. Overall a good holiday.

Riu Playacar: Great resort and atmosphere

We stayed for a week. Facilities are good, beach is beautiful, service above expectations, food is great, entertainment was above expectations ( we are in our 40 and we danced almost every night). The option of using other Riu hotels around added a lot. The only 2 items I would upgrade are the fitness center/Gym - equipment is very limited and outdated. Secondly, more shade option on the beach ⛱️ would be an asset. Overall, we definitely want to come back. Cheers

Riu Flamingos: Great Food!

The Riu Jalisco was great! There was an excellent selection of food places and the buffet had pretty much everything - always fresh. There was entertainment every night - sometimes excellent (Michael Jackson) sometimes just so-so. There were 4 elevators and it seemed only one was ever working. But the stairway was bright and accessible. I would not recommend the Puerto Vallarta city tour at all. It was more geared to selling things (shopping, jewelry and tequila), and only saw 2 sites worth  [... read more]mentioning - the church and the malecon. One could just take a bus and go to both places from one stop. There were plenty of chairs at the beach & around the pools. I would definitely return!

Riu Guanacaste: Riu Guanacaste

It was almost 80 minutes from the airport on a slow, very narrow winding road, bumpy at times on a very comfortable air conditioned coach bus. It is somewhat secluded from any commercial or residential development. Security at the gate controlling traffic in and out. Limited shopping next door. Its a very large resort. The grounds and public areas were clean and well maintained. Free Wi-Fi throughout allowed us to stay connected with home. New construction happening behind the tennis court. D [... read more]uring the day it feels like a very safe family type environment. We attended the start of a couple of events in the evening, however they were very crowded and dark, so we left. The pool area was clean and we had no difficulty finding lounge chairs but some were worn looking. There were lots of activities offered at the pool. The elevators are functioning, there are few of them for the size of the resort and they really could use some updating. The room was clean, air conditioned and comfortable. We had a standard room with a view of the Palace next door. We made use of the room safe and the mini bar. Staff responded to mini bar restocking, but the beverage choices are very limited. I wasn't too sure about adjusting the air conditioning it indicated 3 fan levels but was either on or off. At dinner we were disappointed in our food quality at the Ocotal and Tucan restaurants experiencing both over and under cooked food. At the Ocotal we experienced racoons running amongst the tables at night. The buffets offered lots of choices and the quality there was acceptable. The beach was okay for swimming, clean at the waters edge, an undertow when the waves were large. The upper area of the beach where the lounge chairs are was not as well kept. A number of the lounge chairs were not clean and in need of repair, and of course you will have to deal with the vendors. Our group totaled 16 adults of various ages, mainly couples. The general consensus was that people enjoyed their stay but would not likely return. Possibly due to the length of the flight and other similar options closer to home. We enjoyed the full day Vandara mega-excursion (zip line, horseback, waterslide, etc.) it was 90 minutes by mini-bus each way. For some it was the highlight of their trip. Some also enjoyed reasonably priced massages at the beach (about 1/3 of the price at the resort), returning more than once. We also booked a 1/2 day snorkeling / Coco Beach excursion at the Riu beach. Although the snorkeling was fun I can't say that there is anything worth seeing at Coco Beach.

Riu Guanacaste: Great stay

This resort is very clean, staff are friendly and the buffet quite good. We would like to see pickleball court nets be made available. We also asked several times for suitable chairs at the court as some were broken but staff never followed through.

Riu Palace Macao: The renovated Macao

We have vacationed at the Palace Macao since many years and we had a swim up Elite suite for the first time in November. Fantastic! No more going up elevators and down long hallways, we were only steps away from the beach and all the amenities. We had always enjoyed the Macao, and after the renovations, it is even better than it was before. Our favorite features are the large "palm tree forest" where you can always find a lounger and shade, the huge shared Riu property beach, Scuba Caribe on s [... read more]ite, and the many seating areas available in the "verandah" which runs the width of the hotel. Service is always great, and the resort is always well kept and clean. We will be back for our 7th time!

Riu Palace Costa Rica: Great Resort with Excellent Service and Food! Avoid Sunwing as travel provider.

The customer service of the workers at the resort was fantastic. The resort was clean and well maintained. All of the Food was very good the only down side was not being able to book in advance for one of the 2 supper seatings. Worst part of this trip was Sunwing itself. So many flight delays, baggage delays and disorganization. Plus Sunwing gouging you at their terminal for food and their shuttle bus ride is hell. Pick another travel group if you go here.

Riu Flamingos: I'll Be Back!! Excellent Service! Amazing Value!!!

Hotel is clean, welcoming, ran efficiently and the grounds are very well maintained. Staff is courteous, friendly and very approachable. Pools are very clean; and the beach is wonderful with plenty of lounge chairs for everyone. We never had to wait to be seated for a meal at the buffet or the unique restaurants on site. Plenty of extraordinary food choices for all. My only request would be to have the night entertainment expanded ie: Elvis Presley or Cher or Tina Turner especially if you are s [... read more]taying for 7 days.

Riu Palace Antillas: Amazing vacation

Loved this resort. Newly renovated rooms are very well done and comfortable. Excellent service all around from front desk to restaurants and bars and all other areas. Beach is beautiful and lots of chairs for everyone. We will be back. One area of improvement I would suggest that they have hand sanitizer available in the restaurants especially the buffet areas.

Riu Palace Antillas: Paradise

This was one of the best vacations I have ever had!!! Absolutely no complainants…. Hotel was extremely clean, professional friendly staff in all areas of the hotel Food was amazing at buffets and all alacartes Pool area was beautiful and clean Beach was amazing lounge chairs n palapa available ocean was always warm
