Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Food poisoning alert…..

Hotel was clean and lounge bar was great. Only issue is that on our 5th day both my husband and brother in law both got really sick. We believe it was food poisoning and when I asked public relations if anyone else was complaining of being sick her response was that it could not be food poisoning and it was probably the shift from cold weather to hot weather. I told her that would not be in this case as it was the 5th day and both got sick almost at the same time. Anyway - bad experience and seeing that this was first trip since COVID restrictions lifted- making me think that CUBA is not the place I should have gone to…..food at buffet was always the same - not much change. Treat of the trip- we had lobster one night and that was good. Beach and pool good. Entertainment could have been better. Note- shortage of spoons. Had to ask for spoon at buffet to stir coffee or if having soup. They did provide sugar cane sticks to stir your coffee. Cleaning could be better. As soon as we got in our room first thing that stood out was the amount of dust seen. Dusting is not their forte and for 7 days- still Could see the dust on the glass shelf!!!

Melia Las Dunas: Amazing beach Great for people who enjoy long walks

The resort was great Good food amazing staff The resort was at half capacity which actually worked well for people to space themselves. Always felt safe There were very few people who wore masks . We definitely would go back again

Travel date: Dec 3 – 10 \ 2022 Airline: AirTranat : no problem, take off \ arrival on time. Cuban Airport \ Customs: no problem easy passage. Transfer via Bus Cuban Airport to Hotel: No problem, long ride approx. 1.5hours. Hotel Check-in: Easy no problem, minutes at counter. Hotel Lobby: excellent, very clean, welcome drink, bright roomy leads directly to lobby bar. Hotel is Family oriented. Hotel Room: I requested top floor \ King size bed. I got top floor but 2 single beds. Not a big [... read more] problem. Room was perfect: AC no problem, water pressure no problem, very clean room with balcony view. Room has a small fridge filled daily with Bottle of water \ 2 cans of beer. Resort grounds: excellent very clean, staff maintained. Buffet: wide variety and selection. I was surprised and thanked them daily for the salad bar…Romain green leaf lettuce excellent. Cheese, tomatoes, Q-cumbers and plenty more. Chicken no problem grill, daily stir-fry, seafood. Core hot meals with Chicken, Pork, Beef and assorted vegies. No problem. 3 Al cart: French, Cuban, Italian. Only tried the French…NO PROBLEM. Drinks: Excellent Beer, Poor quality red wine. Spanish. Hotel was not at capacity. Plenty of seating available at Buffet. Buffet service: excellent no problem. Hint…sit near the front entry door breeze of fresh air, as rear of room is hot, and windows are closed. I am amazed as how people waste food, load their plates and end up eating only a portion and leaving the rest. Do you do this at home. Desert: excellent selection with 3 choices of ice-cream. Parents with children need to be more responsible for their kids who approach the desert table. Kids are kids, there is ice-cream all over the counter, floor and spoon being dropped as the kids help themselves. Parents do you allow your kids at home to waste food like this. Pools no problem excellent, plenty of chairs. Snack Bar: Limited eating items. Hamburger, Hot dog, ham – cheese sandwich. Hamburger was bad, no hot-dog left with sandwich only, excellent Beer good service. Beach: needs to be maintained has good potential, lots of seaweed, branches broken, walk down hundred yards to better ground keeping. Tipping: YES, show your appreciation for the service, the staff works very hard. Overall: Excellent, no problem, daily temperature plus 26 sun all day. No noticeable COVID restrictions. Some staff and tourist had masks. People in close distance.

Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: The best service at Angsana!

Spent one week at this amazing resort with my partner, from 28 November to 5 December 2022. I am used to travelling to Cuba and knew what to expect. This resort was super clean, well maintained and service from all staff members was 5 stars! Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Amazing resort

Property and beaches are absolutely beautiful. Rooms needs to be renovated. Food is ok, but not enough fruits. Staff are very friendly and hard working. Entertainment is poor. I would suggest to start the evening show at 9:00 pm. Overall my friends and myself had a great time and I would recommend this resort to other.

Super resort, modern and recent rooms. The resort is small/medium sized. Staff is amazing and will take care of you. Food taste has gotten better in Cuba. Variety was the main issue. Beach - Amazing

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Not Bad

Pros: Nice resort, modern, clean, staff was awesome, food was good we never went hungry. We stayed on the adult side which was nice and quiet and pool was clean. Cons: Beach was nice but....going into the water was not! It was not firm packed sand in the water you sink into the muck. The toilet in our room had a continually leak and every 15 sec. it would fill with a big gushing noise all day and night. After reporting it 3 or 4 times someone came to see it but only slowed it up so it gu [... read more]shed every 45 sec. The second day we were there we noticed water flowing by the building when we were on our balcony. Turns out there was a leak in the sewage tank from under our building. It was very smelly and it was never fixed.

Melia Las Dunas: Great Resort

Well kept resort, Grounds and Gardens amazing, Staff very friendly, One negative review, Early morning departure Electric Transportation broken down, No plan to help clients, especially the elderly who had to lug luggage from 2nd floor and pull luggage (some from a great distance) to lobby.

Hotel grounds were massive.Golf carts a little slow., but they were really nice. Japanese best restaurant. Alendro (cust serv)👍. ** Arie, Ray, Mitch, Odalis (entertainment) kept a good vibe. Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Wonderful Resort

This resort is beautiful and modern. The place is really clean and well taken care of. The beach is amazing and we loved the pools, especially the east pool. The bartender Edgar was really nice and very helpful. The food is ok, you never go hungry. Our chambermaid was awesome. She always made something cute out of the towels. I would go to this resort again

Visited from Nov. 13 – 27. Don’t know where to begin to describe this lovely resort. We just loved everything about it! Beach – beautiful and sandy, second to none, with more-than-enough comfortable lounging chairs. Pool: Clear and huge. Although it looked so inviting, we still prefer the ocean to any pool. Our hats off to Sergio, who is responsible for Food Services and is doing a super job, along with his fantastic chef and their staff. Cafeteria personnel spoiled us with their friendly and efficient service. Special thanks to Adianez, Dreidy, Diainnery, Gelen, Lianna, Lisandra, Evelyn, Jack (just to mention a few, as we cannot recall all your names). Bars: very good and quick service. Loved the Spanish coffee. Landscaping: a delight to behold. It’s like walking in a botanical garden. There are so many plants and flowers to admire. Gardeners are doing a fine job. Once again, a sincere “Thank you” to ALL you wonderful people: waiters, waitresses, cooks, bartenders, cleaners, gardeners, etc. Your hospitality goes above and beyond, making our stay at your resort a happy and memorable experience. The Hotel was very nice and not to big. The only negative thing i would is we were in Building 11 and all the even number rooms faced a septic run off and we could not open our door on nice breezy days The Food was very good and this was our 10th trip to Cuba

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Amazing!

I have traveled to Cuba 4x, and this is my second time to Cayo Santa Maria. I have to say that we had an amazing time. The food could have been a bit better. Being a Cuban run resort, I found there was really no "western" options in terms if vegetables that would have made the meals more enjoyable. I stuck to meats and things that were "safe" in my opinion and I had no issues all week. They don't have salad dressing, and didn't have sugar until the end of the week. Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: October trip

Great spot for an r&r holiday. Everybody at the resort goes above and beyond to make visitors feel welcome and pampered. Great beaches, beautiful grounds, good food. Will visit again and recommend to friends and family

Melia Buenavista: Exceeded our Expectations...

We have visited Cayo Largo 20 times over the past several years, overtime the beach has eroded and the prosperities have deteriorated so we thought we would try Cayo Santa Maria for the 1st time. In short, the hotel and staff significantly exceeded our expectations. The resort is small, but very well positioned at the tip of the island. We are beach walkers; it is a beautiful 2km walk to the next hotel on the east beach. The west beach provides a walk thru natural sea setting, lots of wildlife. There are 2 pools, very nice, very quaint, feels like your own private pool. The rooms were excellent, very spacious. Some minor wear and tear, common in Cuba as they do not have money to upkeep. The shower is OUTSIDE the room...awesome, showering under moonlight and the stars! The meals were between good and great. There are 2 dining restaurants, providing excellent meals for dinner. Breakfast, you can also order off a menu. The only critique was the buffet offering for breakfast and lunch was very limited, basically a few salads and breads. Beyond this, you could order off the menu, the options were limited, but the quality and presentation style were as good as dinner meals. We would have preferred a more extensive buffet for both lunch and breakfast. There was one evening dinner by the pool, very well done. There are no stage shows, only a small 2–3-person group playing music by the 1 main bar in the evening. If you are looking for quiet, romantic setting, this is the place. NO KIDS! adults only. The BEST part were the staff! Everyone was exceptional. We took a brief visit to the other 3 Melia properties, they are huge, noisy, kids, busy...you get the idea, Buenavista was the complete opposite, exactly what we wanted. Oh, one more comment, at the sunset beach, each evening, they had a Kenny G style trumpeter playing tunes as part of the sunset...it just doesn't get any better.

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Nice place structurally

Beach was nice. Ran out of food by day 3-4ran out of vodka day 3. No bread, veggies, fruit, butter, milk.staff were constantly begging for us to get them food and drinks. Only 1 bottle of water offered to the room of 2 people daily. NO BUFFET all week, NO entertainment all week, store had NO snacks, and was hardly open. On the last day of travel we were offered a wiener on a plate was all that was left to eat in the resort. With a 12 hr day ahead of us, kinda pathetic.

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Nice resort structurally

Well, they ran out of food, vodka, pop. We had NO buffet all week, NO entertainment all week. Staff were nice but shouldn’t be up and running if it’s not ready! By the last day we were offered a hot dog wiener cut up on a plate before we left. No bread, butter, milk, veggies, fruit. Staff were constantly begging for us to get them food and drinks. No snacks in the store that was not open very often.

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Best resort ever visited

Great customer service, staff went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable, very clean. Have been in many other resorts but Melia Cayo Santa Maria is on the top of the list of best experiences we ever had in Cuba. Rooms are large and comfortable. Beach is very clean and beautiful. Strongly recommend this resort.

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Great getaway for sun and relaxation

We got a great deal just before busy season, so it felt spacious and easy going. The hotel service was great, the staff work hard to please guests. The hotel itself is relatively new, the pool was enjoyable, and had a nice decor. The food was a highlight, being our favourite in all trips. The buffet was always well stocked and had staff to make sure portions were cleanly served. The snack bar was great between the buffet, But unfortunately the beach snack bar was usually lacking for food. There was a great bbq but wasn’t really bbqing meats, was more toasting bread for sandwiches..as my chicken was cold.... We essentially go to Cuba resorts to explore beaches and snorkel/ swim. Really gorgeous waterfront, and would return for the beach alone. It’s a different beach than santa maria, but still really enjoyable.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Rest and Relaxation

The Royalton is a small resort perfect for R & R. Variety of Food that is excellent and plentiful with lots of variety. No buffet, however, you could always ask for seconds or even thirds. The drinks at the main bar where outstanding. Loved the 24-hour snack bar and drinks. Clean and well-kept grounds and rooms. Butlers, maids, waiters, bar tenders, gardeners and Manger go above and beyond to service you. Beach is beautiful with white sand and crystal-clear water. Very safe resort and the lifeguards saved a man from drowning in the ocean when the ocean was very rough one day. They were always on the lookout. Entertainment was good. Suggestions and Cons: They should have dancing music after the entertainment finishes. There are limited beach towels, and you need to go early to replace the one you have. There is no Ocean View and the ground floor rooms sliding doors open to bushes. There should be signs to tell you want the entertainment is every night. I would definitely return to the Royalton in Santa Maria mainly for the Service, Food, Beach and a perfect resort to rest and relax.
