Memories Jibacoa: Great Vacation!

We stayed at Memories Jibacoa April 25-May 1. This was our 4th stay and we were not disappointed. The resort is lovely and the staff are great. We did lots of snorkelling and enjoyed relaxing on the beach. The hotel and staff take Covid precautions seriously, which we really appreciated. Masks are required in common areas and are worn by all staff. The food is good and we were able to eat every meal outside, which we really enjoyed. We opted for Diamond Club, which was worth the extra cost. The  [... read more]room was comfortable and we had a fabulous ocean view. We highly recommend Memories Jibacoa for a relaxing vacation.

Memories Jibacoa: Beautiful resort

We just spent a week at this resort- I was appreciative of the protocols in place to keep everyone safe. The cleanliness and on-site staff was abundant. Very relaxing atmosphere- not a place to go if you want to venture out and do stuff like horse back riding etc.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Very clean resort!

This hotel was very well priced. The grounds are beautiful and clean. Lots of food at the buffet. Our room was kept very clean, no shortage of fresh towels. Pizza at the beach is amazing. Not sure why they didn't have churros at the resort this time. This is our 5th time at this resort. I really like this resort because its not too big. Memories Jibacoa: Reefs a delight

We had a great time in the water checking out the fish that were near shore and walk in scuba dives at a good price. Although the beach wasn't comparable as in Varadero due to the coral, for the most part it did not inhibit us from wading in it waist height until the start of the coral. Covid wise all the staff were super masked yet accommodating for most of the resort (except the buffet area) for clients, that is until you sat down to eat. PS be sure not to leave any things around that might be misinterpreted as a gift/ tip to staff as a few things were picked up by them and it's hard to ask for it again, especially if you only notice it after a few days. A guided sail, and outdoor yoga to start the day was a welcomed and relaxing daily event. Also as an adult resort only was nice

Grand Memories Varadero: Great people, rooms need lots of love!

The Grand Memories Varadero resort offered beautiful grounds and great staff. However, the rooms ( though relatively clean) were in rough repair. Holes in the drywall, cracks in the sink and tiles, etc. We were also welcomed to a toilet that wouldn’t flush. Plus our balcony featured a sliding glass door that was literally falling apart at the seams. The pandemic has been tough on Cuba and this resort bears those scars. For adult only travelers, others raved about how lovely their food and accommodations were at the adjacent Sanctuary by Grand Memories. Food was hit and miss ( as it can be in Cuba) but we never went hungry. Beach was beautiful! Locals preferred tips in $CDN…so don’t exchange too much into the local currency. We exchanged $100, by still had lots leftover. Locals are paying upwards of 70 Cuban Pesos (CUP) for every dollar Canadian. Entertainment team worked hard and the shows were great! The best Mojito could be found in the lobby bar, but beware wine was only available in the a la cartes. Food supply chain was challenging on the island … but the restaurants all had amazing bread…and often you could even find condiments like Heinz ketchup, HP Sauce or mustard! Taking a big old-fashioned convertible cab into Varadero for dinner was so fun! Varadero 60 Restaurant was delicious!

Memories Jibacoa: Perfect Paradise

After visiting many different locations in Cuba over the years, I'd have to say this resort was top notch in many ways. Location, scenery, grounds, amenities, staff, entertainment were all exceptional.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Overall a Great vacation!

We stayed at memories Flamenco for 4 nights and had a wonderful time overall. Our room was clean and we had hot water(although pressure wasn’t the best). We stayed in building 6 which was very close to the beach and the swimming pool. There are about 11 buildings in total. Food wasn't the best which shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. They lacked basic things such as salt, pepper, sugar, bread, etc. some days were better than others. Sweets were pretty good. We had A la carte dinner and the bes [... read more]t one was Italian. Asian was the worst, the sushi was a joke, and we left half way. Alcohol selection was limited, and only a few options to choose from. Also during the day there are not many food options except hotdogs and burgers by the snack bar and usually they come without a bun. The beach was amazing, so beautiful and magical. Not so busy and we always had seats available. A few things to remember to take with you: Make sure u have first aid kit such as bandage and polysporin, also medication such as Advil or Tylenol. It is impossible to find any there. Terry at the buffet really went above and beyond to ensure we have a great experience, thank you Terry! Manuel from Air canada was also very helpful and knowledgable. Overall we had a great time, thank you Memories Flamenco ❤️

Grand Memories Varadero: Okay-ish resort

Was nice to get away, that being said resort ran out of many things such as :beer,wine, cola,hamburgers, beef, fries,toilet paper. Service was lackluster for the most part, a few bar tenders and servers were great others not so much. Resort was clean, but no toilet paper or toilet seats in the restrooms.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Incredible people and amazing beach

We have stayed at Memories Flamenco for 3 weeks (April 1-April 22, 2022!!! Yes, I know, sounds like a very extensive vacation:) it was long overdue, so we decided, why not?! We travelled as group of 4 (with 2 small kids under age of 7) and were later joined by 3 more family members, (they stayed for a shorter period of time). First of all, Cuba has been through very tough times due to Covid as traveling was significantly reduced + frequent hurricanes, so I think people need to be understanding  [... read more]that this country is still recovering from all the loses, hence, some things might not work as expected (e.g. very low water pressure in showers/ beach showers are broken or don’t exist - would be very handy to wash the sand off your feet, but you gotta do it in your room, etc) or have limited supply (there were days when there were no disposable cups at the beach bars, so we couldn’t get any water/drinks - suggest to bring your own reusable one). However, people were absolutely amazing at the resort and would go well far and beyond to make your vacation enjoyable. Wanted to say special ‘Thanks’ to staff at the buffet who were so caring and always remembered what we preferred to drink/eat. Thank you so much Juli (Juriannis Moreira Rodriguez and Jeni (Jennari Morales Villanueva), you made our stay very special! Also, special thanks to Enme, our Air Transat Rep, who, in spite of Hotel being overbooked (Sunwing had issues that week and people had to stay few extra days at the resort as thee were no flights back home) helped us to negotiate late checkout. Our flight home was late at night and without his help, we would’ve ended up burning on a sun all day long with 2 small kids, (my 2 year old also still naps during the day). Thankfully, Enme, was able to push the management and get our room extended all the way till departure. Beach was absolutely stunning with plenty of room for all; no need to rush early in the morning and get your chairs, beach area was very spacious, so you could always find a room… my 6 year old really enjoyed ‘Kids Club’. It was her most favourite place to be. She claimed it was more fun than swimming with dolphins… oh well, at least we tried:)) The only thing we found irritating was room keys that never seemed to work - had to bring them back to the lobby to fix every second day, which was frustrating. Please fix this.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Lovely Resort

Nice, pleasant vacation spot. Easy size to access all the amenities, staff are very welcoming, pleasant and helpful. Rooms are ok, could use a bit of updating but due to current conditions it is difficult to get necessary materials in Cuba. This was my second visit to memories caribe and I would definitely return

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Awesome

What can I say, if you are looking for an adult only vacations, this is it. Private beach, food was excellent, pool, butler, etc…Loved it, recommend it and would go back again. The staff was so friendly and so helpful.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Ok resort

The front desk were helpful in getting us a phone the safe fixed the TV fixed and we finally got some warm water. I would not go back due to the difference in treatment, if you spoke Spanish. The tourists would line up for food or braverages , and would mostly tip. But then someone speaking Spanish would start there own line on the other side of the server ,and be served first. The only place I did not see this was in the main building. And I never seen any of them tip. Why would I go ba [... read more]ck to be treat as 2nd class. Memories Jibacoa: Amazing Resort

We have been to this resort 9 times. This was our first time back since covid started. The resort was in great shape beautiful gardens and a number of upgrades tile by the stage, painting through out the resort room improvements. Food was very good I was suprised considering how difficult things have been in Cuba. The staff as always were amazing and it was wonderful to see so many friends. Great vacation and look forward to our next trip back to Jibacoa.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Resort almost not worth your money

So, we stayed for 7 days in April second half. The positive sides are: n ice nature, flower planting in area, sea water and water colour amazing, people very friendly. The negative aspects - inconsistent service, and supply with anything Cuba doesn't grow themselves. Restaurant, one, buffet style, once it gets dark outside, lighting is almost non-existant, can't see what youy put in your mouth. The serving counters are lit tho. Three restaurants that one needs a reservation for. Those [... read more] are pleasant and well lit. Food okay, one has choices, taste so and so, often they run out of food, plates, drinks. It's you and your luck. The bars have mainly rum , about 20 different kinds. There is one bar, the lobby bar, which is the best stocked. Several coffees are all delicious. Rooms are okay, the maid will re stock the toilet paper if she has any, same for fresh bottled water in the room. These are essential supplies - at times you actually have to "go find" yourself. That I found unacceptable! Entertainment - that was fine, around pools, and in lobby area in evening. To close my assessment of the hotel - We, there were 9 people in my family group, We were unhappy that the Travel Agency actually sold this place as an All-Inclusive, unacceptable, AND that Air Canada Vacation offers that hotel, equally unacceptable. Needless to say I would NOT recommend this hotel, nor go back.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Absolutely disgusting!

Everything from the food to the cleanliness of the pool at this resort is subpar. Honestly this trip was more of a punishment then a vacation. This will be our last time in Cuba and anyone planning a trip here should do more research.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Such Wonderful Staff

We love this place so much. The staff are so friendly and work so hard to make sure you’re happy with your vacation. We noticed a few shortages this trip, compared to pre-Covid, but nothing that really affected the quality of our stay. The Covid protocol was adhered to by the staff and guests, and I felt very safe there. The beach is fabulous, our room was clean, and the grounds were gorgeous. We will definitely go back again.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Not the same

My family went to Memories 4 years ago. We liked it a lot so decided to go back this year. It was not the same. We were told that the government now runs it and it was somehow let to run down. Never enough bath towels, water bottles or toilet paper in the room. The pool bar and beach bar ran out of alcohol?!? The food was, well still to be expected in Cuba but much fewer options. They ran out of food at the beach grill. Only once did they have hamburgers to pick up at that grill. Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Lacked liquor, food and activities

Grand memories Varadero was a very clean resort. People were courteous but the resort had no wine, no beer, no fries, no different menus. We booked an excursion and they would only accept cash and that was through Armando at sunwing and I had brought enough money for tips on the resort and tips on excursions but having had paid cash for extras on the excursions was a downfall for the staff since i had minimal cash left, especially when it was made through Sunwing. I was supposed to have a butler everyday but I fired the butler Rener cuz he was useless and eventually got Melitza who was excellent with reservations but there was still a lack of liquor and the menus were all the same. I had to purchase my own wine at the resort shop for an expensive price. Very disappointed that this was supposed to be all inclusive and I wish I would have known ahead of time that they had a lack of supplies. I won't be going back to Grand memories I was highly disappointed. Also the seats on sunwing were like sitting on a bar of steel.. They should stuff their seats or upgrade the plane. This was the most uncomfortable ride ever. I will be booking with Air Canada from now on.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Memories caribe Cayo coco

We were ther in January, 2020 and march 2022. We found that quite a bit changed since our last visit. The shows although still good we’re not they use to be. We found the food was ok but really lacking variety. The staff was still exceptional and helpful. The resort ran out of draft but provided cans, not quite as cold. They put nespresso coffee machines in the rooms but did not provide the coffee needed for them. Our room was fine but our friends did not have hot water, and our other friend [... read more] did not have more than a trickle of water in the bathroom sink, also his air conditioning was warm at best. They did not report these things to the front desk. I was disappointed that the churro machine was not operating and that we had the same beach towel all week as did all other guests. I got chewed alive by mats and sand flees, could not go to the beach or sit out on the deck. Fly’s were pretty thick also, I don’t think they are spraying as much. I get bites everywhere I travel but this was bad. Many people were covered from head to toe with big red marks. The trip home was a nightmare with Sunwing. Would not have been as bad had they communicated with us. 6 and a half hours at airport.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Ok resort

Resort was ok, 3 stars. Our room in building 39 was great - really comfortable bed and pillows, air con worked great! Beach was beautiful and plenty of sun beds available. Food was repetitive and bland but you don't go to Cuba for the food. The grounds were ok, not much to look at. The entertainment was just ok, nothing special. We went there to relax in the sun so mission accomplished but we will not return.
